Kash Patel's appointment as FBI director seems to be coming with conditions: He wants to live part-Time in Las Vegas and work remotely, far away from FBI headquarters in Washington.
Why Las Vegas? Patel has long called the city home, but what's most intriguing is his actual place of residence. The FBI director lives at a home owned by Michael Muldoon, a Republican Party megadonor who runs shady Time-share companies, reported the Nevada Independent earlier this month. Muldoon has been sued over allegations of running a "bait and switch" scheme in his Time-shares, where "owners" didn't actually own their properties and were gouged for fees at the same Time.
Muldoon appears to have a history of cozying up to law enforcement officials. He has donated a lot of money to the political campaigns of former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, whose office received multiple complaints about Muldoon's businesses but never pursued them. And apart from sharing an address with Patel, Muldoon also has intricate business dealings with him, utilizing the same incorporation and legal services.

In January 2016, now-retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer Tim Clark says he was in Las Vegas with his wife - also a veteran - for a wedding when a solicitor for Starpoint Resort Group approached them "at the 50-yard line of the Strip" and urged them to buy a Timeshare in the Jockey Club, the building directly above their heads.
Clark recalled that his wife's family had thoroughly enjoyed Timeshares they'd acquired through a different company years before. Especially tempting for the pair, Clark said, was a promise that they wouldn't just have rights to a property as in a typical Timeshare, but become actual owners of a unit in the neon-lit tourist mecca.
Within hours, Clark says he and his wife got hustled into a crowded conference room and signed off on what he thought was a grand opportunity to own a piece of Las Vegas, and to access Starpoint's other properties across North America by trading days with other customers.
Yet Clark said the couple found themselves ambushed by a bevy of costs and complications quite at odds with the glittering promises in the sales pitch - but familiar from countless complaints against Starpoint and its affiliates on the Better Business Bureau website, Facebook groups, Reddit forums, Yelp reviews and a 2019 class action lawsuit that accused the company of running a bait-and-switch scheme: rapidly escalating maintenance fees, poor accommodations at other resorts they could only escape by buying an "upgrade," an incomprehensible "points" system for booking and the stunning discovery that they actually did not own their Timeshare at all.
"Fraud (intentional misrepresentation) was used as the method to maximize profits," the suit alleged. "Defendants knew that this was unlawful and have continued to use such means as fraud, misrepresentations, and omissions."

United Airlines partners with one-Time foe Emirates, will launch Dubai flights
September 14, 2022
DULLES, Va. - United Airlines and Emirates will sell seats on each other's planes, marking a turnaround in the business models of the one-Time foes.
As part of the deal, United said it will start flights to Emirates' hub in Dubai from Newark Liberty International Airport next March.
The codeshare agreement, which the CEOs announced Wednesday, will give the airlines access to the other carrier's destinations and is the latest example of thawing in the relationship between U.S. and Gulf airlines, particularly as international air travel rebounds from more than two years of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tim Clark, Emirates' president, said he hopes the United agreement could someday grow into a joint venture, like the one the Dubai-based airline has with Australian carrier Qantas.
"I don't see why it shouldn't," Clark told reporters at an event unveiling the deal with United at a hangar at Dulles International Airport, near Washington, D.C.
The partnership, if approved by regulators, will also allow passengers to earn and burn frequent their flyer miles on each carrier.
United and other major U.S. carriers like Delta Air Lines and American Airlines had spent years lobbying against big Persian Gulf airlines' expansion in the United States, arguing the state-owned carriers were competing unfairly with backing from government subsidies, which those countries denied.
==Emirates said last week it is ending its codeshare partnership with United rival JetBlue Airways on Oct. 30. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad said it will expand its partnership with New York-based JetBlue.
Qatar Airways and American Airlines in June said they would expand their codeshare partnership.==

Emirates president calls 5G rollout fiasco the 'most delinquent mess he's seen in his entire career' and blames Pete Buttigieg for doing nothing to stop the chaos after dozens of flights were canceled - and then uncanceled
AT&T and Verizon launched their 5G network across America, turning on 4,500 new towers
The network has not yet launched near some US airports due to concerns over safety
The telecoms giants agreed at the last minute on Tuesday to halt the rollout near those airports
By the Time they did, international airlines had already canceled dozens of flights that were scheduled
Many of the airports have buffers to protect against the frequencies but Boston, Newark, Memphis, Atlanta are among major airports that are not on the list of those with buffers
Now, they are rushing to bring those flights back onto schedules and find the staff necessary
Emirates President Tim Clark says he only learned of the 5G risks on Monday
He blames the FAA and the Biden administration for not doing more to stop the chaos
Delta says some flights will be canceled and BAs says some airports still aren't safe - but won't say which
Air India, Emirates, Japan Airlines and All Nippon all canceled flights scheduled for Wednesday
Boeing - which has huge contracts with the airlines and with the government - suffered in the markets
The president of Emirates has slammed the 5G fiasco as the 'most delinquent, irresponsible' mess he has seen in his 50-year aviation career and blamed it on Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who he says knew about the impending chaos but failed to warn anyone in Time to stop it.
AT&T and Verizon launched their 5G network across America on Wednesday morning, switching on 4,500 towers to bring faster wireless to their customers. They had to hold back on ten percent of the towers - 500 - that are near airports because the frequencies the towers emit could interfere with the signal on some planes.
Eighty-eight airports now have buffers to protect against it but some major airports like Boston and Memphis do not. In the most recent FAA announcement on Wednesday afternoon, the government said '62 percent' of flights could operate safely - leaving nearly half to reschedule.
On Wednesday, some airline passengers who were unaware of the fiasco showed up at airports ready to board their flights but were told they had been canceled. Air India, Emirates, BA, Japan Airlines and All Nippon canceled flights on Tuesday, then rushed to bring them back on Wednesday.
In total, 239 flights to, from and within the US have been canceled so far. It's unclear if all have been scrapped because of 5G, but the network launch is causing major issues.
It had a detrimental effect on Boeing, whose 777 and 787 planes are the ones affected and which has lucrative contracts with both the government and with the airlines; stocks fell by three percent on Wednesday as a result of the fiasco.
Sir Tim Clark, the president of Emirates, appeared on CNN, Wednesday that American airlines knew about the risks before the rest of the world, and that it forced them to scramble to cancel flights then bring them back once it was safe.
President Biden, at a rare press conference on Wednesday afternoon, shrugged off responsibility for the fiasco and instead tried to take credit for brokering the deal.
'What I have done is pushed as hard as I can to have 5G folks hold up and abide by what was being requested by the airlines so that 5g would not interfere with any tower within a certain number of miles.
'Anything that happens that is consequential is viewed as government responsibility,' he said.

Pizzagate Conspiracy: Trump-Appointed Official Resigns Following Social Media Scandal
https://www.newsweek.com/pizzagate-conspiracy-trump-appointed-official-resigns-following-social-media-1046630
An official at the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) who caused outrage by spreading conspiracy theories on social media has resigned from her position.
Ximena Barreto, appointed to the department under President Donald Trump, published material about the so-called "Pizzagate" conspiracy, which alleges there was a Hillary Clinton-linked pedophile ring operating out of the basement of a pizza restaurant in Washington, D.C.
According to Politico, Barreto was escorted from HHS headquarters by security on Friday, becoming the third staffer to leave the department since an article was published on how Trump appointees were spreading conspiracy theories online. A Politico source with knowledge of the matter said Barreto resigned from her post. Neither the department nor Barreto could be reached for comment.
Barreto joined the department in December 2017 as deputy director of communications. She spread a range of conspiracy theories online using social media posts and videos. As well as the Pizzagate theory, Barreto also shared material alleging that Clinton was involved in the murder of Democratic National Committee staff member Seth Rich.
She used her online profiles to repeatedly brand Islam a "cult" and regularly shared the hashtag #BanIslam. Barreto also argued "our forefathers would have hung [sic]" Barack Obama and Clinton for treason.
When the posts became public earlier this year, Barreto was placed on review and reassigned to the department's Administration for Children & Families. In a statement explaining her actions, she said the posts were made as a private citizen before she joined the department. "In the heated and hyper-passionate political campaign environment, I made generalized comments regarding race relations and radical Islam," she said. "I fully understand that these emotionally-charged comments were hurtful, and I deeply apologize to members of both communities."
"I have many, many friends of all races and religions, and I look forward to working hand-in hand with them all as we labor to improve our nation for future generations," she added.
Communications employee Gavin Smith and White House liaison Tim Clark have already left the department. Both also pushed conspiracy theories or made controversial political statements online. Smith openly attacked politicians and reporters using social media. Among others, he called Mitt Romney a clown, said Lindsey Graham was "clueless" and branded Bob Corker crazy.
Clark was involved in the hiring process for both Smith and Barreto. He promoted a number of conspiracy theories, including allegations that Clinton campaign head John Podesta was a Satanist and that the Clinton campaign hired people to incite violence at Trump rallies.

Prosecutors launch bid to have Australia's worst-ever child sex predator, Jadd William Brooker, jailed indefinitely for his crimes
He's the worst child sex offender in Australian history - now prosecutors will push for him to be locked away indefinitely, potentially never to be released.
Sean Fewster - December 14, 2021
An HIV-positive pedophile who has made history as Australia's worst-ever child sex offender is an uncontrollable predator who should remain behind bars indefinitely, a court has heard.
On Tuesday, prosecutors told the District Court they would seek to have Jadd William Brooker's case transferred to the Supreme Court.
Once there, they will use laws that were enacted following a campaign by The Advertiser to have Brooker declared incapable of, or unwilling to, control his sexual instincts.
If the bid is successful, Brooker will still receive a prison term for his 182 crimes against children and teenagers in Australia and around the world - but not a non-parole period.
Instead, he will stay in jail unless or until two mental health experts agree he has learned to manage, or is willing to exercise control over, his perverted desires.
Because of a campaign by The Advertiser, the Carly Ryan Foundation and the abuse survivor known as "XX", neither age nor institutionalisation will secure Brooker's release.
Some of SA's most infamous sex criminals are serving indefinite periods of detention, including kidnapper Colin Charles Humphreys and murderer Mark Errin Rust.
Brooker, 39, of Glenelg East, was the central player in an SA-based, online pedophile ring that included former SA Labor adviser Benjamin John Waters.
Among the millions of pieces of data on Brooker's computers were conversations in which he vowed to infect children and adults with HIV - one of his vicTims later took his own life.
Veteran police detectives have dubbed his record-breaking number of online and in-person crimes "the worst and most degrading" they have ever investigated.
On Tuesday, Tim Clarke, for Brooker, said his client's charges were spread across three different court files that should be consolidated in the District Court.
He asked the case be adjourned until January to allow that to happen - Lucy Boord, prosecuting, said the case's proper venue was a higher jurisdiction.
"I'm instructed to make an (indefinite detention) application in relation to Brooker once all of the files are before the District Court," she said.
"It will then be requested that the matter be referred to the Supreme Court."
She said that application would be based on two expert reports which had yet to be sourced, and would likely not be ready until early in the new year.
Judge Geraldine Davison said she had "anticipated being the sentencing judge" for all matters, but understood the application.
She remanded Brooker in custody until January, when all three court files will be in the District Court, for the matter to be referred.

Q Research AUSTRALIA #19 - THE ONLY WAY IS THE MILITARY Edition
HIV-positive pedophile Jadd William Brooker is Australia's worst child-sex predator after admitting to 189 charges
This HIV-positive pedophile has made history by confessing to 189 vile crimes. One vicTim took his own life, and prosecutors are expected to seek a "life without parole" order.
Sean Fewster - October 18, 2021
1/2
HIV-positive pedophile Jadd William Brooker will plead guilty to 138 more crimes against children - making him the worst child-sex offender in Australian history.
In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday, Brooker's counsel said their client wanted to confess to all but four of a horrifying list of perverted and predatory offences.
With that indication, Brooker has admitted a total of 189 offences - a case far larger than any other sex crime previously heard by this country's courts.
Tim Clarke, for Brooker, told the court he was ready to finalise the case.
"This was next listed for court in November, but I've asked it be called on for pleas," he said.
"My client would like Your Honour to record guilty pleas to all counts except for four.
"It's proposed that if the court takes those pleas, and we have spoken to prosecution about this, a copy of the information will be sent to my client so that he can sign it, rather than all charges being read out."
It will fall to the District Court to sentence the former logistics manager for crimes committed, both in person and online, against children and teenagers around the world.
Prosecutors are expected to argue Brooker is unwilling to or incapable of controlling his sexual instincts, and seek to have him detained indefinitely.
If that application succeeds, he would - thanks to legal reform brought about by an Advertiser campaign - spend the rest of his life behind bars without parole.
That would place Brooker in the same class of sex criminal as predatory kidnapper Colin Charles Humphreys and murderous rapist Mark Errin Rust.
Brooker's only chance of release would be convincing two mental health experts he had rehabilitated and no longer posed a risk to children.
His penalty would therefore outstrip even that of another infamous SA pedophile - Ruecha Tokputza, known as "the child collector".
In 2019, Tokputza was jailed for 40 years with a non-parole period of 28 years after pleading guilty to 51 charges.
Both Tokputza and Brooker were brought down by SA's Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team, a partnership between SA Police and Australian Federal Police.

Q Research AUSTRALIA #15 - NEVER RETREAT FROM THE BATTLEFIELD Edition
HIV-positive paedophile Jadd William Brooker to be charged with 100 more offences involving six child and teenage vicTims
The HIV-positive paedophile who vowed to infect children will be charged with 100 more crimes, while another alleged offender is now co-operating with police.
Sean Fewster - April 7, 2021
Investigators are poised to charge HIV-positive paedophile Jadd William Brooker with 100 more offences - including the depraved abuse of six children and teens in Australia.
The Advertiser can reveal the new allegations, which include "contact offending" against children, will be laid before Brooker's next court appearance in June.
Some of those alleged offences are regarded as "category five" crimes, meaning they involve acts such as coerced bondage, sadism, torture or bestiality.
The Advertiser can also reveal another man facing charges arising from the Brooker case is now co-operating with AFP and SA Police investigators.
The 37-year-old senior Correctional Services Department officer last week told a court he wanted his identity suppressed - and his lawyer, Stacey Carter, said the situation "may change".
"I can confirm my client has co-operated fully with SA Police," she said.
"I am permitted to confirm he has provided police with the identity of the alleged vicTims ... this may change the suppression order application."
Brooker, 38, of Glenelg East, has already pleaded guilty to seven child abuse and exploitation charges - earning a potential 40 per cent sentencing discount.
Prosecutors have previously alleged he expressed his intention to infect adults and children with HIV, then acted on it while filming himself.
They said he had a teenage vicTim - who has been tested for the virus - in an eastern states city, and can be connected to 40 other paedophiles worldwide.
A month after Brooker's arrest, in September last year, police had analysed just 30 per cent of the 4.5 million files on his electronic devices.
They allegedly discovered 10,000 images of child exploitation, 7000 of which were new and "not pre-existing" on the internet.
That prompted further investigations resulting in the arrests of the senior correctional services officer and of former Labor Party staffer Ben Waters last week.
Court documents released on Wednesday allege the senior correctional services officer's offending occurred at Port Lincoln, the northern suburbs and the Eyre Peninsula in 2020 and 2021.
It is alleged that, between June 2020 and January 2021, he both produced and disseminated exploitation material featuring children under the age of 14 years.
It is further alleged that, between June 2020 and March 2021, he indecently filmed an adult without their consent.
The man allegedly produced further exploitation material between November 2020 and January 2021, and was caught in possession of such material on March 30 this year.
Last week, the man's counsel sought an identity suppression and, when that failed, said they would appeal to the Supreme Court.
That appeal has meant the man's unmasking will be postponed until his legal challenge has been heard on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Brooker faced court on the charges filed against him so far.
Those include the seven counts to which he has confessed, and 36 further charges involving the alleged production, possession and dissemination of child abuse material.
Tim Clarke, for Brooker, asked for the existence of those 36 charges, and any pending charges, to be suppressed from publication.
"I've spoken to the prosecution and we're seeking to negotiate these matters ... those negotiations are ongoing, and there has been correspondence," he said.
"We've been identifying the counts that are likely to resolve by way of plea ... we expect these matters are likely to resolve."
He argued the suppression was needed to ensure the integrity of ongoing investigations - a claim rejected by both prosecutors and The Advertiser.
The state's chief magistrate, Judge Mary-Louise Hribal, declined to impose a suppression order and remanded Brooker in custody until June, when he will enter his pleas.

Charges increased five-fold, bail denied following analysis of accused paedophile Jadd William Brooker's electronic devices
South Australian police have identified child abuse vicTims in Adelaide, New South Wales and Italy after analysing electronic devices seized from an accused paedophile, a court has heard.
Jadd William Brooker, 38, was earlier granted home detention bail by Magistrate Rodney Oates but the Director of Public Prosecutions appealed that decision to the Supreme Court.
Justice Sam Doyle refused to release him on Friday.
He said the alleged offending was "extremely serious", with one investigating officer describing it as the "worst and most degrading witnessed in 14 years of investigation".
Prosecutor Lucy Boord told the court that on Friday police increased his charges from eight to 44 child sex offences after investigators started to analyse his phone, laptop and a hard drive after seizing them on August 26.
"We are in the very early stages of the investigation in this matter and each day sees police uncover further information," she said.
"E-crime have identified 4.5 million items of interest across those three devices ... at least 10,000 are probable child pornography."
She said only 30 per cent of one messaging app and part of another had been analysed and so far police had identified three child abuse vicTims.
The court heard one was a 15-year-old boy from New South Wales and another was a boy from Adelaide, who has since died.
Ms Boord told the court that the third identified child was a 16-year-old boy from Italy and that there were up to nine further potential unidentified vicTims.
"Those discoveries of those three known children have been made whilst there has been, what I'll call, a cursory search of two of the accused's messaging apps, which is Skype and Telegram," she said.
She told the court that police still had to analyse 50,000 messages across nine messaging apps, including iMessage, Kik, WhatsApp and Instagram.
Boy being tested for HIV
The court heard that Mr Brooker - who is HIV positive - was also conversing with a "like-minded individual" about his desire to infect children with HIV.
Ms Boord said the accused allegedly engaged in filmed sexual activities with the New South Wales boy, who was now being tested for HIV.
"The seriousness of that offence needs to be viewed against that conversation along with ... various footage of that sexual interaction," she said.
"This is no idle bragging between people over the internet - there is evidence that this has actually occurred."
Tim Clarke, for Mr Brooker, told the court that his client was not a flight risk because he had ties in South Australia and had the support of his grandparents and mother.
"It's serious offending, [but] it's not the most serious in the sense that bail has been granted for allegations as serious as murder," he said.
Mr Clarke said Magistrate Oates appropriately granted bail on the presumption of innocence and presumption in favour of bail.
He told the court that Mr Brooker's online presence could be controlled by police while on home detention bail.
Justice Doyle accepted that there was a "degree of emotion" involved in the way police and prosecutors outlined their case, but said the "bare descriptions" were enough to demonstrate the seriousness of offending.
Mr Brooker was remanded to appear again before the court in April 2021.
