NASHVILLE (AP) - Richard Casper shakes his head as he touches one of the boarded-up windows in the once-abandoned church he plans to transform into a new 24-hour arts center for veterans.
The U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient said he was an arm's length away from military officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, at Marine Barracks Washington when he learned the former church his nonprofit CreatiVets just purchased had been vandalized.
The physical damage to the building and its stained glass windows saddened Casper. But what worried him more was that the church had remained empty since 2017 without damage. That vandalism came just weeks after CreatiVets bought it, suggesting that maybe he and the veterans in his program were not welcome.
"I almost just left," Casper said. "It put me in a weird headspace."
However, Casper, 40, a CNN Heroes winner and Elevate Prize Foundation winner, needed more support for the center - "a place to go when the PTSD hits." Like so many veterans, he said his PTSD, caused by seeing a close friend die on patrol in Iraq, would generally come in the middle of the night, when the only places open are bars and other spaces that can be "destructive."
He figured a 24-hour center where veterans could engage in music, painting, sculpture, theater and other arts could help. It could "turn all that pain into something beautiful." The artistic element factored in when Casper, who suffered a traumatic brain injury while serving in Iraq, returned home and found it hard to be in public - unless he was listening to live music.
So he completed his mission that night in Washington, introducing new people to CreatiVets' work. Then, Casper returned to Nashville to practice what he has preached to hundreds of veterans since his nonprofit opened in 2013. He asked for help.
And help came.
Within weeks, CreatiVets' Art Director Tim Brown was teaching a roomful of volunteers how to create stained glass pieces to replace those that were vandalized. Brown said the volunteers wanted to give back to the organization, "but also because of the impact that these activities have had on them."
Gary Sinise believes in art's impact
Gary Sinise values that impact. The actor, musician and philanthropist had already signed on to donate $1 million through his foundation to help CreatiVets purchase the building. Sinise's involvement encouraged two other donors to help finalize the purchase.
The "CSI: NY" star said he believed in CreatiVets' work and had already seen a similar program in his hometown of Chicago help veterans process their warTime experiences.
"In the military, you're trained to do serious work to protect our country, right?" Sinise said. "If you're in the infantry, you're being trained to kill. You're being trained to contain any emotion and be strong."
Those skills are important when fighting the enemy, but they also take a toll, especially when veterans aren't taught how to discuss their feelings once the war is over.
"Quite often, our veterans don't want any help," Sinise said. "But through art - and with theater as well - acting out what they are going through can be very, very beneficial."

Reverberations from the SEC's Enforcement Action in the CISO Community

The SEC's fraud complaint against SolarWinds and Tim Brown reverberated throughout the CISO community. Some commenters suggested significant changes to the CISO's corporate position - mandatory D&O insurance, access to the Board of Directors, enhanced severance provisions - as an antidote to being "scapegoated" for security failures. Experts like Ed Amoroso with a broad reach in the CISO community cataloged what CISOs see as the negative security effects of the SEC's decision to go after Brown personally: decreased information flow as the entire security apparatus seeks to avoid liability over a "poorly worded email," increased meetings with lawyers and regulators which distract from the CISOs real work, and warnings to younger security practitioners to "stay away from the CISO position."

It is too early to tell if the dismissal of nearly all the SEC' charges will be received as a real measure of relief to CISOs. I think there is positive news for the CISO community even as to the SEC's much-reduced theory of liability that remains after the motion to dismiss.

SolarWinds' and Browns' alleged frauds now rest solely on the "Security Statement" that SolarWinds published on the "Trust Center" of its public-facing website in late 2017. Judge Englemayer allowed these claims to go forward because SEC plausibly plead that (i) Brown was principally responsible for the content of the Statement; (ii) the Statement informed the investing public that SolarWinds was effectively mitigating the risk of cyber-attack; (iii) there were large and negative discrepancies between the published security policies and the true state of security at SolarWinds of which Brown and SolarWinds were aware and would be material to investors; and (iv) the Statement remained on the SolarWinds public website, unchanged, for years despite these discrepancies.

Why is this good news? Unlike the rest of the dismissed allegations pertaining to SEC filings, and policies and controls outside the CISO's authority, the remaining alleged CISO liability is of a sort that could be addressed by the CISO herself. A CISO could, for instance, follow this rule: don't publish statements to the public touting your company's cybersecurity policies unless you are sure they are accurate, and you are willing to adjust these public statements to keep them accurate. Of course this is a burden, but not an unfair one. There is no reason CISOs should be shielded - unlike other senior executives - from the consequences of making material misstatements to the investing public.

The SEC's remaining allegations against SolarWinds and Brown remain just that - allegations. We don't know how the litigation will unfold in the coming months. We can hope, however, that CISOs will now feel like they can safely turn their full attention to their critical jobs.

What is taking place in Western North Carolina, literally about an hour from me, is the very thing they were attempting to do in Maui, which was make a major land grab. However, that is exactly what residents in Chimney Rock are saying the federal government is illegally doing following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which many of us believe was also used as a weapon against those people.

Chris Martenson posted this information brought to him by a Peak Prosperity member who attended a recent town meeting in which government bureaucrats explained they would be bulldozing the town, including any bodies in the debris, not giving them a proper burial, and also seizing the land... yes, illegally grabbing up the land.

Why would they want this land? Simple, lithium and quartz.

I reported the other day on the mine there in Spruce Pine that is the highest quality quartz that is used in the production of semiconductors. According to a Brave internet search, "Western North Carolina is home to the Carolina Tin-Spodumene Belt, a 60-mile-wide geological formation rich in lithium deposits. For decades, mines in this region supplied most of the world's lithium, until cheaper sources were found in South America and Australia.... Western North Carolina's lithium deposits and Piedmont Lithium's Carolina Lithium project make the region an important player in the global lithium market. The project's development is expected to support the growth of the U.S. battery supply chain, decarbonization efforts, and North Carolina's electrification economy."

Them: I can't post this online because it's not quite public yet, but government officials had a town meeting with all of the residents of chimney rock and basically told them the town was being bulldozed, bodies and all and the land was being seized by the federal government they would not be able to move back and basically their homes the ones that were standing were no longer theirs and the federal government owned it all. I don't know what crazy play for land this is, but there's a lot of conspiracy about lithium mines and let me just tell you, as someone who lives in Charlotte and has friends who live in the area of Western North Carolina, they are not being helped and this is actually being a stand down operation by federal government.

Them: Our friend owns an Airbnb in Chimney Rock. They had a town meeting yesterday and someone from the federal government told them all of those things in the town meeting, but doesn't want the information getting out. Also, they are not picking up the bodies. The stench of the bodies everywhere is insane and for some reason, the government does not want to pick up the bodies. One pastor of a local church was going to order to door delivering water and they changed their delivery request to body bags because so many of the homes that they've gone to have needed body bags, we're trying to keep the body count. They're not picking up the bodies. They don't wanna identify the bodies and they're just leaving them to rot in the streets.

Me: I...can't...even. I'm stunned. This is beyond anything I could have imagined even very recently. You always pick up and bury the dead. It's what humans do. They are violating every possible custom ... on purpose. Thank you for keeping me informed. People need to know about this. Florida Funeral Home Worker Found Dead Amid Reports of Corpse Abuse

An employee of a funeral home in Florida has been found dead after allegedly being caught sexually abusing a corpse.

Police were alerted to the incident at Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Pensacola on Tuesday morning, local news station WEAR-TV reported. Another employee had called authorities after walking in on the alleged abuse taking place.

Citing the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, WEAR-TV reported that the suspect had fled the property by the Time officers arrived at the funeral home.

Later that morning, police found the suspected abuser's vehicle at the intersection of North Blue Angel Parkway and Alekai Drive on the western outskirts of the city, approximately a 10-minute drive from the funeral home.

The sheriff's office told WEAR that the suspect had been found dead near the abandoned vehicle with a gunshot wound they believe to be self-inflicted. The name of the suspect has not yet been released, nor has the name of the deceased they allegedly abused.

In a statement, Oak Lawn Funeral Home said: "Out of respect for the privacy and confidentiality of the families…and the privacy of our associates, we are not in a position to comment on this matter. We will continue to fully cooperate with the sheriff's office on any investigation."

Police are now investigating to ascertain the full details of the incident.

"It is disturbing; I'm glad it wasn't my mum that was here," Tim Brown, a bereaved customer who was finalizing the burial details for his father, told WEAR-TV. "It does give me second thoughts, but I think he's already been cremated so I think he's safe."

Newsweek reached out to the Pensacola Police Department and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office for comment.

According to the National Funeral Directors Association, there are over 18,000 funeral homes across the United States as of April 2022. Reported cases of employees sexually abusing dead bodies are relatively rare.

Perhaps the most prolific necrophiliac in living memory in the U.S. is Kenneth Douglas, who claimed to have had sex with as many as a hundred corpses while working night shifts at the Hamilton County, Ohio morgue between 1976 and 1992.

Douglas was charged and convicted of three cases of gross abuse of a corpse, after advances in DNA technology identified semen found on one of the bodies as belonging to him.

Blurting out the truth in their confusion is what is going on here. The Western Australian government's website provides an authorization under the Public Health Act of 2016 to authorize to supply or administer a "poison," which they identify as SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) Vaccine.

An almost entirely unknown 28 year old, who in coming days will be referred to in the most banal of terms in light of his actions - traveller, gym junkie, computer nerd - is sitting in his parked Subaru Outback in Leslie Hills Drive.

He is typing up his final post to the toxic online world of 8Chan.

"Well lads, it's Time to stop shitposting and Time to make a real life effort post.

"I will carry out and [sic] attack against the invaders, and will even live stream the attack via facebook."

The message is accompanied by a link to his Facebook profile and a 74-page 'manifesto'.

His actions over the next half-hour will make Brenton Harrison Tarrant arguably New Zealand's most reviled figure.

The shooting of more than 90 innocent worshippers on 15 March 2019 shocks the world.

Many people will not support our decision to tell this story, in fact many will be angered at us mentioning his name. But, while not seeking to glorify the killer's actions, we believe it is appropriate to try to understand him.

The story of Tarrant's descent from a quiet blonde-haired Aussie boy to New Zealand's first convicted terrorist is far more prosaic than the atrocity which brought him to global attention.

Born on 27 October 1990 to Rodney and Sharon Tarrant in Grafton, about 500 kilometres north of Sydney in regional New South Wales, he was the youngest of two siblings.

His father, a garbage collector, and his mother, a teacher, were well-respected in the community and the wider Tarrant family was well-known in the surrounding Clarence Valley area.

His parents separated before he was a teenager, but his cousin Donna Cox told 7News there was nothing in the family's background to suggest Tarrant would one day become the perpetrator of one of the world's deadliest mass shootings.

"He was never raised like that, in that sort of environment, you know? There was no violence. No family's perfect, but certainly nothing like that," she said.

He attended Grafton High School. But there was nothing remarkable about his schooling years.

He tried rugby league. But, again, he was unexceptional.

He suffered bullying at the hands of his peers.

"There was a Time when he was picked on pretty badly. Grafton can be a pretty harsh place … so if you're overweight and a bit what some people might call useless on the field, you're going to probably get picked on," junior rugby league teammate Daniel Tuite told The Australian.

Tuite said even back then Tarrant kept to himself.

After high school he landed a job at Big River Gym in his hometown. He worked there from 2009 until 2011.

The gym's manager, Tracey Gray, said Tarrant was dedicated to physical fitness.

"He would train a lot, and some could say quite excessively, but then he was passionate about health and fitness and making those changes in his personal space."

Fitness was a passion he shared with his father Rodney, an avid runner and triathlete.

In 2010, Rodney died at age 49 following a diagnosis of mesothelioma - an aggressive and deadly form of cancer.

According to all accounts Rodney and his son were close, and many speculated it was the loss of his father that started the younger Tarrant's descent.

About a year after his father's death Tarrant introduced himself to Aussie Stock Forums, saying he had came into the ownership of about $500,000.

Either this is an incredible coincidence or, more likely, Bill and Hillary Clinton were in on monitoring President Donald Trump and some of his advisers.

Bill Clinton met secretly with then Attorney General Loretta Lynch at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on June 27, 2016. This occurred around the same Time the Obama administration filed a request with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) to monitor communications involving Donald Trump and several advisers.

DC Whispers reported on Sunday:

Today (Sunday) Obama operatives were out in full force, as predicted, spinning deflection to a compliant Mainstream Media. The gist of this deflection was that Obama would NEVER (knowingly) order wire taps on a political opponent and that President Trump's recent accusations regarding that possibility are beyond the pale.

Even as those denials are being voiced, though, an Obamagate Timeline is forming.

Late yesterday, reports began to circulate that the source of the Trump wire tap was initiated by former Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The same Loretta Lynch who met privately inside a government plane with former President Bill Clinton at the very same Time the FBI was investigating then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

According to the Timeline provided by The Conservative Treehouse, here's how things break down.

1. June 2016: FISA request. The Obama administration files a request with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) to monitor communications involving Donald Trump and several advisers. The request, uncharacteristically, is denied.

2. July: Russia joke. Wikileaks releases emails from the Democratic National Committee that show an effort to prevent Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) from winning the presidential nomination. In a press conference, Donald Trump refers to Hillary Clinton's own missing emails, joking: "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 e-mails that are missing." That remark becomes the basis for accusations by Clinton and the media that Trump invited further hacking.

3. October: Podesta emails. In October, Wikileaks releases the emails of Clinton campaign chair John Podesta, rolling out batches every day until the election, creating new mini-scandals. The Clinton campaign blames Trump and the Russians.

4. October: FISA request. The Obama administration submits a new, narrow request to the FISA court, now focused on a computer server in Trump Tower suspected of links to Russian banks. No evidence is found - but the wiretaps continue, ostensibly for national security reasons, Andrew McCarthy at National Review later notes. The Obama administration is now monitoring an opposing presidential campaign using the high-tech surveillance powers of the federal intelligence services.

5. January 2017: Buzzfeed/CNN dossier. Buzzfeed releases, and CNN reports, a supposed intelligence "dossier" compiled by a foreign former spy. It purports to show continuous contact between Russia and the Trump campaign, and says that the Russians have compromising information about Trump. None of the allegations can be verified and some are proven false. Several media outlets claim that they had been aware of the dossier for months and that it had been circulating in Washington.

Interestingly enough, the request submitted by the Obama administration was denied. However, as Wikileaks released Clinton campaign chair John Podesta's emails during the 2016 campaign, the Obama administration submitted another narrowed request to the FISA court that targeted a computer server in Trump Tower, which they claimed were linked to Russian banks.

There is no doubt that the Obama administration was behind the wiretaps at Trump Tower. The question now is, was Bill and then presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, as well as then Attorney General Loretta Lynch in on it? If Hillary was in on it, then we are looking at the same type of deep criminal corruption we have seen out of every one of these people we have come to expect, and Trump needs to keep his promise to bring some justice on Hillary Clinton.

On Tuesday, The House Oversight Committee voted to authorize a subpoena for a former adjudications manager in the White House Personnel Security Office to testify behind closed doors as part of an investigation into the security clearance process of the Trump administration. The whistleblower said the White House overturned 25 denials of security clearances. However, not one of these Democrats raised even a peep when 44 House Democrats hired Muslim brothers as IT professionals, who turned out to be spies, and exempted them from background checks posing a serious national security issue.

As was reported on Tuesday, "Tricia Newbold, who was the adjudications manager in the White House Personnel Security Office told Cummings and a bipartisan staff that her office had issued 25 denials of security clearances that have been overturned by the White House."

"However, the Republican staff on the committee responded to both Cummings and Newbold. The members complained that Cummings "cherrypicked" partisan information and didn't not give ample opportunity for Republican members to respond to Newbold."

Of course, I don't want to belittle the allegations if there truly is a security issue here. I should be looked at. However, given the past two years and millions of dollars spent on a nothing burger of an investigation, one has to wonder if this isn't the next distraction coming from House Democrats against the Trump administration. I think it is.

Reed Hayes is a court qualified handwriting and document examiner whose business is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has nearly 40 years of handwriting related experience, and has worked as an international consultant and speaker. Never heard of him? Well, Hayes is the Certified Document Examiner (CDE) who produced the 40 page opinion referenced in the Mike Zullo affidavit that was submitted to the Alabama Supreme Court in the Obama eligibility case and his report concluded that the Obama birth certificate image, located at WhiteHouse.gov, is a complete fabrication.

The rabid followers of the "O" (Obots) have rushed to denounce Reed Hayes as a "quack." However, one might be surprised to learn that one of Hayes' clients listed in the Expert Witness Directory at this link is an attorney with Perkins-Coie Law Firm.

Perkins - Coie is the law practice whose partners have provided Obama's personal defense against all birth certificate and natural born citizen litigation over the past five years. Hmmmmm. Very interesting indeed.

If it turns out that Sheriff Arpaio is successful in getting Congress to investigate the authenticity of Obama's BC, the Perkins-Coie legal team, who will be defending Obama, will be hard pressed to simply dismiss Reed Hayes as a "quack." This fact will be especially significant now that it is a revealed and proven truth that members of the Perkins - Coie firm have used Hayes as an expert witness! Their own prior cases, where Hayes was used as a witness, would be severely compromised if they use Saul Alinski-styled mocking attacks on Hayes.

It has been reported that Mr. Hayes has been hounded by Obama operatives to discover the details of his 40-page forensic analysis of the Obama pdf birth certificate. He has been referring them to Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his Cold Case Posse, who now legally own his report, for further information.

I also found it interesting that someone sided with the Obama administration and attempted to bring up dirt on Hayes by pointing out that he was a homosexual with a "partner," who is now deceased. Isn't that interesting? Why would that be considered "dirt" from the Obama side? Isn't he the one telling us that is "normal" and isn't he the one helping to push the homosexual agenda along? Ah, the hypocrisy!

The Washington Times reports:

A watchdog group filed a Senate ethics complaint Monday against Sens. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren for sending out fundraising emails asking for donations to support their votes against Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh - even before they cast their votes against him.

While voting and then asking supporters to back that decision with cash is common, the watchdog group, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), says asking for money ahead of Time crosses the line into vote-buying.

FACT asked the Senate ethics committee to probe fundraising emails sent by Ms. Warren, Massachusetts Democrat, and Ms. Harris, California Democrat.

Ms. Warren's email said she was demanding a delay on the judge's confirmation vote and asked for donations for her 2018 election campaign, while Ms. Harris's emails detailed several of her actions as a member of the Judiciary Committee, including her questioning of the president's pick for the high court, and asking for contributions.

Bezos owns The Washington Post, the newspaper that employed Khashoggi when the journalist entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, on Oct. 2. Others, including Y Combinator's Sam Altman, IDEO CEO Tim Brown, and Dan Doctoroff, head of Alphabet's Sidewalk Labs, have said they won't work with Saudi Arabia's futuristic NEOM project even though they've been named as advisors.

Bezos, Amazon's CEO and the world's richest person, has made no public statement.
