The big business lobby is cheerleading President-elect Joe Biden's massive amnesty plan for the 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the United States, calling the initiative one of their many "priorities."
Biden floated the amnesty plan with a number of open borders and business lobbying groups during a meeting this week. Some executives with the groups are calling the amnesty "the most aggressive" plan they have seen while working on Capitol Hill, suggesting it includes not only legislation, but executive orders to legalize most of the illegal alien population.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which represents corporate interests, tells Axios the amnesty plan is among the many priorities they want from the Biden administration.
Axios reports:
Suzanne Clark, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, told me that the #1 desire she hears from members, including small businesses, is "more responsible adults in the room governing."
Clark said key parts of the early Biden agenda - pandemic relief, vaccines, infrastructure, trade, immigration, workforce - "are all business priorities."
The statement mimics that of the Chamber's CEO Thomas Donohue, who said this week he is interested in working with Biden to not only provide amnesty to illegal aliens, but to expand the number of legal immigrants admitted to the U.S. every year.
Annually, more than 1.2 million legal immigrants are awarded green cards, and another 1.4 million foreign nationals are given visas. These totals are in addition to the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens who are added to the U.S. population every year.
Such an amnesty would be a boon to the corporate interests that the Chamber represents as the business lobby, Wall Street investors, and Big Tech seek to slash wages and widen profit margins by inflating the U.S. labor market with millions of foreign competitors to working and middle class Americans.
NumbersUSA, which advocates on behalf of American workers, said the fact that U.S. wages are "finally rising after decades of stagnation and real wage decreases in many manual labor jobs" is "exactly why Joe Biden is intent on flooding [the] labor market with foreign workers":
Today, 18 million Americans are jobless, and another 6.2 million are underemployed, all of whom want full-time jobs with competitive wages and good benefits. Their chances of securing higher wages and more job opportunities are crushed by the mass inflow of illegal and legal immigration.
One particular study by the Center for Immigration Studies' Steven Camarota revealed that for every one percent increase in the immigrant portion of American workers' occupation, their weekly wages are cut by perhaps 0.5 percent. This means the average native-born American worker today has his weekly wages reduced by potentially 8.75 percent because more than 17 percent of the workforce is foreign-born.
Biden's amnesty plan would need to garner support from a handful of 28 House Democrats who barely won their seats in the 2020 election and who will be up for reelection again in 2022. Those Democrats include Reps. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ), Lauren Underwood (D-IL), Cindy Axne (D-IA), Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), Angie Craig (D-MN), and Conor Lamb (D-PA).

Chamber of Commerce Lobbies Joe Biden: Return U.S. to Free Trade Consensus
The United States Chamber of Commerce is lobbying for a return to the job-killing free trade consensus that has governed the Washington, DC, political establishments for three decades as the group seeks to cozy up to the incoming Biden administration.
At an annual speaking engagement, Chamber of Commerce CEO Thomas Donohue lobbied for a return to the free trade consensus that was stopped dead in its tracks by President Trump's economic nationalist agenda - which included regularly imposing tariffs on foreign imports and pressuring multinational corporations to reshore their manufacturing base back to the U.S.
Donohue said the U.S. "in recent years our resilience has been tested through trade wars and tariffs" while calling for the elimination of Trump's tariffs and a reengagement with global organizations like the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The statements come as the Chamber of Commerce seeks a friendly relationship with the incoming Biden administration. Most recently, the group endorsed President-elect Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion Chinese coronavirus relief package, which does not include $2,000 stimulus checks for each American - as Trump had wanted - but instead offers $1,400 checks.
"We look forward to working with the new administration and Congress on the details and in ensuring that any additional economic assistance is timely, targeted, and temporary," Chamber of Commerce executives said in a statement.
The Chamber of Commerce is also wanting to help Biden with expanding legal immigration levels beyond their already historical high where more than 1.2 million legal immigrants are given green cards every year and another 1.4 million foreign workers are awarded visas annually.
"We fought vigorously and successfully against actions by the Trump administration to severely limit legal immigration, and we will work cooperatively with the Biden administration to reform our immigration system to meet the needs of our modern economy," Donohue said.
Their free trade lobbying efforts may hit a wall as incoming United States Trade Representative (USTR) Katherine Tai, supported by outgoing USTR Robert Lighthizer, has suggested that she will seek a trade agenda in tune with Trump's focus on American workers, U.S. wages, and enforcement.
Tai, though, is likewise expected to be met with obstacles as Biden stacks his administration with Washington, DC, insiders, corporate allies, and Wall Street alumni, all of which tend to unanimously back a globalist free trade agenda that widens profit margins for businesses while crushing job prospects for Americans.
Since 2001, U.S. free trade with China has eliminated at least 3.4 million American jobs. In 1985, before China entered the WTO, the U.S. trade deficit with China totaled $6 billion. In 2019, the U.S. trade deficit with China totaled more than $345 billion.
American manufacturing is vital to the U.S. economy, as every one manufacturing job supports an additional 7.4 American jobs in other industries.

CEO Thomas Donohue said in a statement that Trump's "proclamation is a severe and sweeping attempt to restrict legal immigration. Putting up a 'not welcome' sign for engineers, executives, IT experts, doctors, nurses and other workers won't help our country, it will hold us back."

Trump On Immigration: White House To Increase Restrictions On Guest Worker Programs
Immigration to the U.S. topped 1 million in 2016 but fell below the mark by 2018
President Trump is determined to limit the number of aliens both legal and undocumented from entering the U.S.
Most Americans favor developing a path to legal status for undocumented immigrants
President Trump on Monday was poised to sign an executive order imposing further restrictions on immigration on top of previous actions that cut legal immigration drastically and slashed grants of asylum. The new order is expected to focus on guest worker programs.
Trump has said pausing immigration will help Americans find jobs as the nation attempts to recover economically from the coronavirus pandemic. But the president long has displayed anti-immigration leanings, starting his campaign by accusing immigrating Mexicans of being rapists and drug dealers and, once elected, demanding billions of dollars to build a concrete and steel wall along the border with Mexico to block undocumented immigrants from crossing.
Trump has attempted to end the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals - DACA - program for people who were brought to the United States as children. He was blocked last week by the U.S. Supreme Court, which said his administration violated procedure in the way it attempted to eliminate deportation protections for so-called Dreamers. Trump then pledged to try again.
The coming order was expected to target H-1B, H-2B, L-1 and J-1 visas through the end of the year, Fox News reported.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has warned against restricting immigration too tightly.
"As the economy rebounds, American businesses will need assurances that they can meet all their workforce needs. To that end, it is crucial that they have access to talent both domestically and from around the world," chamber CEO Thomas Donohue said in a letter to Trump, adding that limiting access to foreign talent would undermine the recovery.
Legal immigration was more than 11% lower before the coronavirus pandemic hit. In 2018, legal immigration fell to 940,877 from a record 1.06 million in 2016. Last year, Trump unveiled a sweeping rule aimed at cutting immigration by half, blocking those who don't meet certain income standards and denying green cards to those who received public assistance. Asylum grants were further restricted earlier this month with the implementation of a rule increasing the amount of proof needed to qualify.
Dan Tichenor, an immigration historian at the University of Oregon told NPR immigration restrictions become popular in times of crisis, and policies instituted during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic imposed draconian restrictions that extended into 1965.
A Pew Research Center poll earlier this month indicated 75% of those queried favor giving permanent legal status to Dreamers and a like proportion favor developing a pathway to legal status for all undocumented immigrants.

Q Research General #8592: Q Thinks like A Champion Edition
Anons,
Remember how Q asked us to look at how former heads of state would travel around to foreign countries ahead of POTUS?
I was looking at a WSJ story from Friday, June 7,2019, which I already mentioned in a post here. The story is called "Chamber of Commerce CEO Gets Rare Perks". It is available on line but has a paywall for me, and I referenced a paper copy. Anyway I was thinking how easy it would be for the CEO, Thomas Donohue to use his "perks" to jet around the world making deals behind the President's back. Mr. Donohue just completed a 12 day, 17,000 mile "junket" from Washington DC to Marathon, Greece followed by stops in Tokyo, Beijing and Anchorage, AK. The WSJ piece focussed on the cost of the travel, I'm now wondering even more about the purposes of the travel in light of President Trumps comments today about the Chamber of Commerce.

Q Research General #8584: Tarrific Position Edition
If I recall correctly one of the recent noted suspicious deaths was a woman who used to work for the Chamber of Commerce (not sure on that). In any case I saw a WSJ story from 6/7/2019 that got me thinking about some connected subjects such as human trafficking, suspicious activity by wealth people, etc. Apparently the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, Thomas Donohue has unusual access to expensive air travel. The story I referenced is on line here:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/chamber-ceos-rare-washington-perk-private-jet-service-even-for-vacations-11559825503
The online version has a paywall, but I have a paper copy. Here are some relevant quotes: "Mr. Donohue took his around-the-world trip in May on a Gulfstream G650, the jewel of the private air fleet. The plane seats 16 passengers, flies faster than a Boeing 747 and can cost more than $14,000 an hour to charter, according to air-charter companies. The Journal asked four of these companies to review a detailed itinerary for the 12-day, 17,000 -nautical -mile journey. Each said that it would cost more than $600,000."
"In September, Mr. Donohue flew friends, family and chamber executives to Bermuda to celebrate his 80th birthday and memorialize his wife, who died a year earlier. Eagle Wings said that air travel would cost about $42,000."
The story was written by Brody Mullins with contributions from Tom McGinty, Michael M. Phillips, James Oberman and Mark Maremont.
Questions: How easy would it be for someone in this position to do something nefarious if they wanted to? Transport people illicitly? The itinerary for the 17,000 mile journey (provided in a graphic associated with the print edition) showed the flight originating in Washington D.C. then to Marathon, Greece, Tokyo, Beijing and Anchorage, AK. Interesting locations, no? Of course the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce would be expected to travel to key locations, but with such lavish opportunity to take family and friends and at such cost, it raises some questions with me. Probably why the WSJ felt it was worth reporting.

Plutocrats Unite: Big Tech, Business Lobby, Outsourcers Demand Amnesty
Executives from the country's largest tech conglomerates, the big business lobby, and multinational corporations synonymous with outsourcing American jobs are demanding Congress pass the latest Democrat plan giving amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.
A new plan by House Democrats known as the "Dream and Protection Act" gives amnesty to nearly three million illegal aliens who are eligible and enrolled in former President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
Aside from the nearly three million DACA-enrolled and DACA-eligible illegal aliens who would be able to permanently stay in the U.S. - providing a flooded market with lower wages for the business lobby - the amnesty would be extended to the nearly 500,000 foreign nationals who are currently living in the country on Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Longtime U.S. Chamber of Commerce chief Tom Donohue easing out of job
Posted Jun 5, 2019 5:35 PM
Longtime U.S. Chamber of Commerce chief Thomas Donohue, a storied player on K Street for decades, is stepping back from his role atop the organization, shedding his title as president but pledging to remain with the group as CEO until June 2022.
Suzanne P. Clark, currently the chamber's senior executive vice president, will assume the role of president, the group said Wednesday, noting it will "undertake a global search" for the next CEO.
"Securing the dynamic leadership of Tom and Suzanne ensures the Chamber can focus on near-term political priorities and long-term sustainability," Tom Wilson, who chairs the group's board of directors and runs the Allstate Corp., said in a news release. "The Chamber is deep in talent and expertise and I am thrilled that Tom and Suzanne are committed to leading this team at this important time."
Clark, in a phone interview, said the transition was "the board saying, 'OK, team, keep on keeping on.'" The group's policy priorities, including trade and infrastructure, will remain at the top of the agenda, she said.
Donohue, 80, has run the chamber since 1997 and has fielded questions about his possible retirement for years. "Older Americans should have incentives to work well past 65," he said during a news conference early this year.
The gig is a crown jewel of K Street jobs, so it's no wonder Donohue would leave slowly and reluctantly. His compensation was more than $6.6 million, according to the organization's 2017 IRS form 990. And the chamber routinely is the top spender on federal lobbying, reporting $22.1 million on federal lobbying in the first three months of this year.
"The corner office at the chamber is without a doubt one of the most coveted spots in Washington," said headhunter Ivan Adler. "It's about as high profile as it gets and is a career maker or breaker for sure."
Under Donohue's leadership, the chamber has cultivated a reputation for playing a prominent role in policy and politics, typically favoring the GOP agenda, such as tax cuts, and Republican candidates. But earlier this year, the group announced it would revamp its criteria for rating and endorsing lawmakers, relying more on bipartisanship in an attempt to rebuild the governing-focused political center.
It was an outward sign the group has seen its clout diminish within the GOP, as the party has pursued more populist policies, such as the Trump administration's tariffs and trade wars, rather than the free-trade priorities of the pro-business wing of the party.
The chamber's political operation spent more than $7 million in outside expenditures during the 2017-2018 election cycle, with $6 million supporting Republican candidates, $1 million spent to defeat Democrats and less than $500,000 spent to defeat Republicans, according to a tabulation from the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.
"Lawmakers should be rewarded for reaching across the aisle - not punished," Donohue said in January during his annual "State of American Business" address. He added "governing by crisis" is no way to do the nation's business.
Leslie Hortum, a K Street recruiter for the search firm Spencer Stuart, said in an email that the change "provides for thoughtful succession planning" and offers "a great recognition of all Tom and Suzanne have done to keep the Chamber strong and relevant."
