In Part III of this series, MintPress detailed Wexner's alleged ties to organized crime and his links to the still unsolved homicide of Columbus, Ohio lawyer Arthur Shapiro. Shapiro, who was representing Wexner's company "The Limited" at the time of his death, was set to testify before a grand jury about tax evasion and his involvement with "questionable tax shelters." Columbus police described the Shapiro murder as "a Mafia 'hit'" and a suppressed police report implicated Wexner and his business associates as being involved in or benefiting from Shapiro's death, and as having links to prominent New York-based crime syndicates.

However, Wexner and The Limited also appear to have had a relationship with the CIA. In 1995, Southern air transport (SAT) - a well-known front company for the CIA - relocated from Miami, Florida to Columbus, Ohio. First founded in the late 1940s, SAT from 1960 until 1973 was directly owned by the CIA, which sought to use the company as a cover for covert operations. After 1973, the company was placed in private hands, although all of its subsequent owners would have CIA ties, including James Bastian, a former lawyer for the CIA, who owned SAT at the time of its relocation to Ohio.

SAT was intimately involved in the Iran-Contra affair, having been used to funnel weapons and drugs to and from the Nicaraguan Contras under the guise of delivering "humanitarian aid," while also sending American weapons to Israel that were then sold to Iran in violation of the U.S. arms embargo. In 1986 alone, SAT transported from Texas to Israel 90 tons of TOW anti-tank missiles, which were then sold to Iran by Israel and Mossad-linked intermediaries like Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi.

Even though the airline's CIA links were well known, Leslie Wexner's company, The Limited, sought to coax SAT to relocate its headquarters from Miami, Florida to Columbus, Ohio, a move that was realized in 1995. When Edmund James, president of James and Donohew Development Services, told the Columbus Dispatch in March 1995 that SAT was relocating to Columbus' Rickenbacker airfield, he stated that "Southern air's new presence at Rickenbacker begins in April with two regularly scheduled 747 cargo flights a week from Hong Kong," citing SAT President William Langton. "By fall, that could increase to four a week. Negotiations are underway for flights out of Rickenbacker to the Far East...Much of the Hong Kong-to-Rickenbacker cargo will be for The Limited," Wexner's clothing company. "This is a big story for central Ohio. It's huge, actually," James said at the time.

The day following the press conference, Brian Clancy, working as a cargo analyst with MergeGlobal Inc., told the Journal of Commerce that the reason for SAT's relocation to Ohio was largely the result of the lucrative Hong Kong-to-Columbus route that SAT would run for Wexner's company. Clancy specifically stated that the fact that "[The] Limited Inc., the nation's largest retailer, is based in Columbus ... undoubtedly contributed in large part to Southern air's decision."

According to documents obtained by journalist Bob Fitrakis from the Rickenbacker Port Authority, Ohio's government also tried to sweeten the deal to bring SAT to Columbus in order to please powerful Ohio businessmen like Wexner. Orchestrated by Governor George Voinovich's then-Chief of Staff Paul Mifsud, the Rickenbacker Port Authority and the Ohio Department of Development created a package of several financial incentives, funded by Ohio taxpayers, to lure the airline to relocate to Ohio. The Journal of Commerce described the "generous package of incentives from the state of Ohio" as "including a 75 percent credit against its corporate tax liability for the next 10 years, a $5 million low-interest loan, and a $400,000 job-training grant."In 1996, then-SAT spokesman David Sweet had told Fitrakis that the CIA-linked airline had only moved to Columbus because "the deal [put together by the development department] was too good to turn down."

Since Epstein's arrest, records of Rosser's article have been scrubbed from British newspaper archives, including the Evening Standard's own. However, MintPress independently confirmed with Bob Fitrakis, whom Rosser had interviewed for the article in question, that the article did allege that Epstein used to claim he worked for the CIA. In addition, other reports from the time period cited excerpts of Rosser's article, including the reference to Epstein's past claims of involvement with the CIA.

Specifically, Rosser's article had included the following passage:

He [Epstein] has a license to carry a concealed weapon, once claimed to have worked for the CIA, although he now denies it - and owns properties all over America. Once he arrived at the London home of a British arms dealer bringing a gift - a New York police-issue pump-action riot gun. 'God knows how he got it into the country,' a friend said."

Though Epstein denied past connections to the CIA at the time Rosser's article was published, it is worth mentioning that Robert Maxwell - father of Ghislaine Maxwell and long-time Mossad operative - also vehemently denied his now well-documented links to Israeli intelligence until his death. Furthermore, as will be shown later in this article, Epstein and his only known billionaire "client," Leslie Wexner, would later forge a business relationship with the CIA front company Southern air transport and play a major role in the airline's relocation to Columbus, Ohio in the mid-1990s. During that period, two prominent Ohio officials believed that both Epstein and Wexner were working with the CIA, according to Ohio-based journalist Bob Fitrakis.

Past claims and evidence of Epstein's involvement with the CIA, coupled with his time as a "shadowy" financial fixer for double-asset Khashoggi, strongly suggest that, whatever Epstein was doing for Khashoggi during this time, it likely involved BCCI. According to "The BCCI Affair" report, Khashoggi "acted as the middleman for five Iranian arms deals for the United States, financing a number of them through BCCI" and "served as the 'banker' for arms shipments as the undercover scheme developed." The report continued:

Khashoggi and [another Iran-Contra arms dealer Manucher] Ghorbanifer performed a central role for the U.S. government in connection with the Iran-Contra affair in operations that involved the direct participation of CIA personnel [and both Khashoggi and Ghorbanifer] banked at BCCI's offices in Monte Carlo and, for both, BCCI's services were essential as a means of providing short-term credit for sales from the U.S. through Israel to Iran."

This connection is even more likely given the fact that Bear Stearns - Epstein's previous employer right up until he became a financial fixer for Khashoggi and other powerful people - also worked directly with BCCI during this period. Indeed, Bear Stearns served as a broker to BCCI, a fact that remained hidden until a lengthy court battle in the U.K. concluded in 2011 and forced the government's "Sandstorm Report" about BCCI's activities to unredact the names of Bear Stearns and other institutions, individuals and countries that had done business with the CIA-linked bank.

Furthermore, there is the additional fact that BCCI trafficked underage girls for sex as a means of obtaining favors from and gaining leverage over powerful individuals, something in which Epstein would later become deeply involved. As was shown in Part II of this series, several individuals who were running either sexual blackmail operations involving minors or child trafficking operations were connected to CIA front companies like BCCI, other organizations connected to the Iran-Contra scandal, and several individuals close to the Reagan White House.

The CIA director at the time, Bill Casey, was a close friend of Roy Cohn, who also ran the sexual blackmail operation involving underage boys out of Manhattan's Plaza Hotel, described in Part I of this series. Another fact that further suggests that Epstein had connections to BCCI is that Epstein was known to have been close to other arms dealers of the period and BCCI was frequently used specifically for covert arms deals. After the bank's collapse in 1991, an article in Time magazine entitled "BCCI: The Dirtiest Bank of All" noted the following:

Southern air transport, formerly air America, was once directly owned by the CIA and today is remembered for being a CIA front during Iran-Contra. Less known is the relationship between the CIA-linked airline and Leslie Wexner and his then-close associate Jeffrey Epstein, which will be discussed in detail later in this report.

Seal seemed to always operate with much less than six degrees of separation from Clinton while the latter served as governor. In his 1999 confessional expose, Cross-fire: Witness in the Clinton Investigation, former Arkansas policeman turned personal driver and security guard for Bill Clinton, L.D. Brown, recounts how Clinton encouraged him to seek out a post at the CIA. Clinton allegedly went so far as to edit the essay Brown wrote for this employment application. The essay topic was drug smuggling in Central America. Upon receiving his application, the CIA put Brown in touch with none other than Barry Seal. Seal would later be gunned down in 1986 while serving six-months probation for drug-smuggling charges.

Seal was not the only affiliate of Oliver North running a Contra-connected operation in Arkansas. Terry Reed, who had worked for North since 1983, claimed to have been put in touch with Seal by North and established a base just 10 miles north of Mena - in Nella, Arkansas - where "Nicaraguan Contras and other recruits from Latin American were trained in resupply missions, night landings, precision paradrops and similar maneuvers," according to Cockburn and St. Clair. Reed further asserted that drug money was being laundered through Arkansas financial institutions.

After Clinton's half-brother Roger was busted for cocaine smuggling (Clinton would later pardon him while president) the CIA sought to move Contra operations out of Arkansas, hoping to put a damper on the increasingly public and sloppy Arkansas-based operation. According to Terry Reed in his book Compromised: Clinton, Bush and the CIA, co-written with John Cummings, a hushed meeting was held in a bunker at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, Arkansas. During the meeting, William Barr, who represented himself as the emissary of then-CIA Director Bill Casey told Clinton:

The deal we made was to launder our money through your bond business but what we didn't plan on was you and your n****r here start taking yourselves seriously and purposely shrinking our laundry."

Barr chastised Clinton for his sloppy handling of the delicate operation and his half-brother's very public fall from grace. He would later tell Clinton, according to Reed,

Bill, you are Mr. Casey's fair-haired boy ... You and your state have been our greatest asset. Mr. Casey wanted me to pass on to you that unless you fuck up and do something stupid, you're No. 1 on the short list for a shot at the job that you've always wanted. You and guys like you are the fathers of the new government. We are the new covenant."

Attempts to investigate Clinton's role in the Mena operations and more broadly in the Iran-Contra affair were allegedly axed by Clinton's own confidantes, who consistently denied he played a role in the scandal. According to the Wall Street Journal, former IRS investigator William Duncan teamed with Arkansas State Police Investigator Russell Welch in what became a decade-long battle to bring the matter to light. In fact, of the nine separate state and federal probes into the affair, all failed.

Following the controversial conclusion by the New York Medical Examiner that Epstein's death was a suicide - a conclusion contested by Epstein's attornies as well as by independent forensic pathologists, given the apparent evidence pointing towards strangulation - corporate media coverage of the Epstein case has slowed to a trickle, save for sensationalist stories about his alleged co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell and new salacious details of his past. Gone from corporate media are any hints of the larger scandal, revolving around the admission that Epstein had "belonged to intelligence."

In this four-part series, "The Jeffrey Epstein Scandal: Too Big to Fail," MintPress has revealed that Epstein's activities - a sexual blackmail operation involving minors and connected to intelligence agencies - was one of many such operations that have taken place for decades, developing from the nexus forged between the CIA, organized crime and Israeli intelligence shortly after World War II.

As Part II of this series revealed, these sexual blackmail operations proliferated during the Iran-Contra affair, which involved this same dark alliance between U.S./Israeli intelligence and organized crime. The Clintons' own involvement in Iran-Contra revolved around the covert activities at Arkansas' Mena airport, which involved the CIA front company Southern air transport and occurred while Clinton was governor. Just a few years into the Clinton presidential administration, Leslie Wexner and Jeffrey Epstein would play a major role in Southern air transport's relocation to Columbus, Ohio, leading to concerns among top Ohio officials that both men were not only working with the CIA, but that Wexner's company, The Limited, sought to use the CIA-linked airline for smuggling.

During that same period of time, Epstein had already forged close ties to important Clinton White House officials and prominent Clinton donors like Lynn Forester de Rothschild and made several personal visits to the official presidential residence.

Some of these ties appear related to Epstein's shady financial activities, particularly involving currency markets and offshore tax havens - activities he began to perfect while working for prominent Iran-Contra figures in the early 1980s, several of whom were tied to the CIA-linked bank Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) and had known relationships with Israeli intelligence, namely the Mossad. The nature of Epstein's work for these individuals and other evidence strongly suggests that Epstein himself had a relationship with BCCI after leaving Bear Stearns and prior to the bank's collapse in 1991.

Of particular importance are Epstein's relationship to the Clinton Foundation and the alleged role of Epstein's Virgin Islands-based hedge fund and the Clinton Foundation in money laundering activity, a relationship still under investigation by MintPress.

It is this tale of intrigue that fully reveals the extent to which this decades-old alliance between organized crime, the CIA, and Israeli intelligence has corrupted and influenced politicians of both political parties, both through the use of sexual blackmail and through other means of coercion.

Another aircraft company linked to the CIA and operating in the Congo was Southern air transport, which flew DC?6 transports. The CIA's involvement with Southern air became a matter of public record in 1973, when documents relating to a planned purchase of the airline were filed with the Civil Aeronautics Board in Washington, DC. The documents revealed that the CIA proprietary airlines, including Southern air transport and air America, all shared the same Washington address. Southern had begun its connection with the CIA in August 1960, according to a 1973 report in the New York Times; the article quoted a Miami-based pilot as saying, 'Everybody knows Southern was doing spook stuff'.

Another airline flying in the Congo with links to the CIA was air Congo. On 1 June 1961, Michael Hathorn, a medical doctor escaping South Africa for exile in Accra, flew to Ghana via the Congo. 'We boarded an air Congo plane', he recalled later, 'and we were rather disconcerted at first to find that half the seats had been removed and the rear half of the cabin was filled with cases containing bank notes and ammunition!'

air Congo featured prominently in the brutal treatment of Lumumba in his final weeks of life. When he was taken to Leopoldville on 2 December 1960 from Kasai, where he had been captured, he was flown in an air Congo plane. Then, when he - along with Maurice Mpolo, the Minister of Youth and Sport, and Joseph Okito, Vice President of the Senate - were flown to their deaths in Katanga on 17 January 1961, their journey was on board an air Congo DC-4. They were beaten so badly by Mobutu's soldiers that the radioman vomited and the air crew, horrified, locked the door to the cockpit.

When the three Fouga Magister jets arrived in Katanga, David W Doyle, the chief of the CIA base in Elisabethville, was at the airport. 'Not long after the Lumumba incident', he wrote in his memoir True Men and Traitors, 'three Fouga Magisters . . . were secretly flown in by US commercial air craft and crew, in direct violation of US policy, to join Tshombe's forces. During a routine airport check-up, I chanced on them being unloaded from a US civilian KC97 pipeline cargo aircraft at night'. He added that when he chatted with the American air crew, it seemed to him that they were mere delivery men, with 'no idea of the situation their cargo was about to make more tense-the aircraft were obviously there to shoot down UN planes'. Years later, Doyle identified the crew as US air Force personnel.

The three Fougas, Doyle explained in his memoir, were training aircraft, but they were armed and perfectly able to destroy UN transport planes. 'The UN was furious', he said, 'and it was suspected that was a CIA operation to help secretly build a stable, pro-Western Katanga in case the rest of the Congo were to fall under communist domination'. But if that was the case, he insisted, 'nobody had told me anything about it-which makes CIA involvement highly unlikely'.

As reports of Lumumba's death sank in across the world, there were revelations of deepening US involvement in the Congo. On 17 February 1961, a story broke in the British newspaper, the Daily Telegraph, that an American cargo airline was secretly shipping Fouga Magister jets to Katanga.

This was shocking news. For the French-built Fouga CM. 170 Magister was a jet-trainer aircraft that could be used for combat: with a maximum speed of 400 miles per hour, it had the capacity to carry and use rockets, bombs and two machine guns. The delivery of fighter aircraft to Katanga was in clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions and contrary to official US policy.

The British press got hold of the story by chance because a US cargo aircraft was unexpectedly forced by engine trouble to land in Malta, then a British colony, in the early evening of 9 February 1961.The aircraft was a Boeing C-97 Stratocruiser - a long-range, heavy, military cargo plane - on which the words 'Seven Seas airlines' had been painted over but were still visible. Otherwise, the only marking was the registration number on the tail, which identified it as a US plane. It had flown from Luxembourg and was apparently bound for Johannesburg; it carried three Fouga jet trainers. The names of the crew members, all Americans, were given to the US consul general in Malta.

Parts for the engine were flown from the US to repair the cargo plane; once it was ready to fly again, the aircraft and its sinister freight left Malta for Entebbe, Uganda, in the night of 13 February. While in the air, the captain reported to air traffic control that it was short of fuel and needed to alter course for Fort Lamy (now N'Djamena), the capital of Chad; this was a ploy to justify flying in the direction of Katanga. It then flew to Elisabethville (now Lubumbashi), Katanga's capital.

British authorities in Malta had not appreciated the significance of this flight until the story broke in the press. At this point they quickly shared information about the episode with the colonial office in London, generating a file of reports and correspondence which has provided many of the important details set out in this edited extract.

Seven Seas airlines was closely linked to the CIA, either as a CIA proprietary company or as a company contracted to the agency. Set up in 1957 by the American brothers Earl J Drew and Urban L 'Ben' Drew, the airline based its fleet in Luxembourg. Its headquarters was in Manhattan.

In July 1960, Seven Seas had been awarded a contract with the UN for the delivery of relief goods to the Congo. The investigation into Mark Middleton is so suspicious that the George W. Bush Administration invoked executive privilege for the first time, just weeks before 9/11, to keep documents about the investigation into Mark Middleton out of the hands of Congress. That is astounding, because it's not even the same administration, ostensibly an administration against the corruption of the Clinton era, we're told.

Invoking executive privilege for the first time to protect a guy that's special assistant to chief of staff - obviously, Middleton was involved in some very suspect activity. And those investigations don't deal with Epstein, they deal with other people that Middleton was meeting with...

It's... remembered as Chinagate. I think that's sort of a misnomer. China's definitely involved, but it's more fair, I think, to call it Riadygate. Riady referring to the family of Mochtar Riady, an East Asian oligarch of Chinese origin, but they're Indonesian.

They bankrolled the Clintons back when Clinton was governor of Arkansas and through his presidency. By the early 1990s, they had become official business partners of China, so they were involved in infiltrating and targeting the commerce department. This is part of why Commerce Secretary Ron Brown ends up dead in this plane crash in 1996... and Epstein is in the middle of it.

While Epstein is meeting with Middleton, he is [also] courting the very airline at the center of Iran-Contra and Mena, Arkansas, drug running and arms smuggling - Southern air transport - to run cargo between China and the U.S., ostensibly for the businesses of Leslie Wexner.

But given who he's meeting with at the time, and all of this other stuff, it points to some sort of illegal arms smuggling into the United States. A lot of these guns... ended up in the hands of gangs in American inner cities at the same time that the same network created the crack epidemic, which has been reported by people like the late journalist, Gary Webb. No relation, by the way.

SAT's crew training was maintained to high standards. The aircraft were consistently well-maintained, often under the most difficult of circumstances.

One notable 747 mission involved hauling a load of lions from Amsterdam to Johannesburg, South Africa, the lions being on loan from the Amsterdam Zoo to the Johannesburg Zoo.

Relocation of SAT from Miami to Columbus

1994 Edmund James, president of James and Donohew Development Services, negotiated with SAT and announced that it was locating to Rickenbacker International airport in Columbus, Ohio. Much of the Hong Kong-to-Rickenbacker cargo was for Leslie Wexner's The Limited Inc. Governor George Voinovich stated: "I am extremely pleased to welcome Southern air transport to Ohio, as it will be the first airline to have its world headquarters located at Rickenbacker airport. This will help Columbus tremendously in becoming a world-class inland port.

Bankruptcy
In late 1998 it tried to merge with other aviation companies, but it filed for bankruptcy on October 1 in Columbus, Ohio - the same day that the CIA Inspector General released a report detailing allegations of Southern air transport's involvement in drug trafficking in connection with US-backed and funded right-wing Contras in Nicaragua.[9]

On March 10, 1999, the assets of Southern air transport were purchased by Southern air, and the new carrier began operations in November 1999.

SAT operated out of Kenya during the Rwandan Civil War using C-130 aircraft. They also recruited and tried to recruit Canadian service members and some members of Relief air transport, the Canadian airline operating C-46s in Kenya, into their group.

SAT operated out of Asmara, Ethiopia, (now Eritrea), during the Ethiopian famine of the late '80s. It hauled thousands of tons of relief supplies in the middle of a hot war under contracts for the UN, Caritas Internationalis, Lutheran World Federation, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, saving thousands of lives.

SAT was also heavily involved in famine and disaster relief efforts in other areas of Africa. SAT supported the airlift into Southern Sudan from the late '80s into the middle '90s. At one time, SAT Hercules aircraft were the sole food supply for the refugee camps in the Juba, Sudan area, during the north-south war. Again, SAT provided food for the helpless and saved countless thousands of lives.

SAT was founded in 1947 in Miami as a charter airline flying cargo to The Bahamas. By the time it was acquired by the CIA in 1960 for $300,000 (from the company's founder, F. C. "Doc" Moor[2]) it was still small, with three aircraft, and "plenty of debts".
SAT became a subsidiary of the CIA's airline proprietary network managed by George A. Doole Jr., the Pacific Corporation.[3] SAT's Pacific Division supported the US war effort in Southeast Asia,[3] and operated 23 Lockheed Hercules aircraft in its fleet.[4] According to the Miami Herald, during the 13 years the agency owned the airline it earned $3 million in profits, most of which were poured back into the firm to expand its operations.[2]

At one point, SAT was the CIA's largest "proprietary" - a private business owned by the CIA - with estimated assets of more than $50 million and more than 8,000 employees worldwide.

The CIA sold Southern air transport for $2.1 million in 1973 to an aviation executive who had fronted for the agency's ownership of the airline for 13 years, the Miami Herald reported on 10 March 1975. According to the newspaper, SAT had a stockholder equity of $4.2 million when the CIA sold it to Stanley G. Williams, who had fronted as president of the firm from 1962 to 31 December 1973, when he purchased the airline. The Miami Herald said, however, that Williams did not get as good a deal as he wanted for the airline. "It was a long, hard, arms-length transaction," Williams said of the sale.[2]

SAT was sold again in 1979, this time to James H. Bastian - described by the Los Angeles Times in 1986 as "a top-notch Washington, D.C., aviation attorney who had worked with Doole at the Pacific Corp. from 1961 to 1974, as secretary, vice president and general counsel."[3] Under Bastian the company expanded its revenues (from $9.8m in 1982 to $38.m in 1985) and had over 500 employees in 1986.[3]

A company of Epstein's, VT&T, LLC, at the Red Hook Quarter address as Jeanne Brennan's, is Epstein's contact for his microwave industrial/business pool license. This license is for private microwave radio transmission communications running from St. Thomas to Epstein's which he attained in October 17, 2014, expiring in October 17, 2024. A question for application was, "Has the applicant or any party to this application, or any party directly or indirectly controlling the applicant, ever been convicted of a felony by any state or federal court?" The answer was of course "yes". No, problem….. The coordinates for Epstein's equipment on Little St. James Island are next to the "tennis courts", not far from the "sundial".

1995: Epstein reincorporated his firm, naming it, Financial Trust Co. Also this year, Bill Clinton dined with Epstein, according to an article of March 1995 in the Palm Beach Post. It was also in 1987, that Les Wexner became Epstein's "client". Wexner was the founder and chairman Limited out of the Columbus, Ohio, at the time worth more than $2.5 billion. Wexner's clothing industry involved shipping to and from Hong Kong on Southern air transport, an airline run by the CIA. It disbanded in 1998, but in the 1980's it was involved in Iran/Contra. It had been exposed in 1986 when one of their planes were shot down in Nicaragua. As well as conducting cocaine running in Columbia (and other drugs in other parts of the world), they flew weapons for Iran through Israel for hostage exchanges, and on return flights weapons for Nicaragua from Portugal. After the CIA operation was busted in Arkansas, they accommodated Wexner in Columbus, Ohio, to receive the shipments from Hong Kong. Southern air transport was taken over by Evergreen Aviation also used by the CIA, and the only terminal able to serve that aircraft was run by Landmark Aviation, running fixed base operations (FBOs), private air terminals with fueling and maintenance for charter, business and private aircraft. Landmark Aviation was contracted by the CIA for its rendition program, abducting subjects of interrogation to avoid laws in their own nations, flown to FBO's in other countries, and held for months on those facilities. Unlike most plain Jane (for a reason) FBO's, Landmark's in Columbus was richly outfitted with showers, conference rooms, concierge and its own Customs Inspection. After all, the "clients" are powerful people and dignitaries, don't you know. Except these weren't roughly interrogated. Instead, they were set up with the "Lolita Express" and forced thereby into submission. Landmark Aviation had taken Columbus Customs operations from Lane Aviation after partnering with it. Lane Aviation is in Epstein's phone book. After the CIA secret interrogation centers were exposed by Europe, Landmark was sold and split to put the FBO operations into trusteeship, one of which was former CIA director James Slesinger, after which it was sold to the Bush family ally, Carlyle Group. These self contained customs centers eased Epstein's Lolita Express, helping him to avoid customs in conventional airports. For the comfort of their powerful and influential clients, the FBO at Columbus offered not only a concierge, but valet parking for the armored Mercedes provided by Epstein, having their own command center communications. The tabloid press are happy to note the number of times he was on Jeffrey Epstein's private jet. They gleefully wonder how this will impact Hillary Clinton's latest presidential bid. The mainstream media dutifully reports Epstein's previous conviction for soliciting child prostitution, but do not give his whole history. That history is as intertwined with the intelligence community and organized crime as it is with the fashion world and royalty. Where it all meets is not on a private island, Palm Springs or London, but Columbus Ohio.
In 2003 The Columbus Free Press reported that Jeffrey Epstein had "recently loaned his jet to Bill Clinton." The mainstream media did not trumpet this older connection between Clinton and Epstein when the latter was arrested in 2007 nor did it speculate loudly on it's possible impact on Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential bid. Epstein's companion Ghislaine Maxwell, who is alleged to have procured pubescents for the prince, was also mentioned along with the death of her father, publisher Robert Maxwell. Multiple sources, including noted investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, allege that the elder Maxwell was a long time asset of Israeli intelligence.
The portrait painted of Epstein prior to his prosecution for pandering is peculiar. He made a fortune managing the money of Les Wexner. In 2009 Epstein's phone book was released on the internet. Bill Clinton's name is not in it. Wexner's name is there with individual listings for multiple residences and vehicles. There are also two separate phone numbers listed as "command center."
Epstein had his own phone numbers listed in the same book presumably in case his butler, who tried to sell the book to an undercover FBI agent, needed to reach him. There are two separate listing for phones in an "armored Mercedes". There are also two phone numbers listed for "guest Mercedes." It is not clear from the phone book if this means there are two armored Mercedes and two unarmored Mercedes in case a guest needs one or if the vehicles each had two phones or some combination thereof.
Jeff Epstein's boss has a secret command center in the Columbus area. Epstein has an armored Mercedes with two phones or two armored Mercedes. His girlfriend's father is alleged to have smuggled weapons to Israel and now he and said girlfriend are accused of providing teenage sex slaves to a member of the British Royal Family. Why the tabloids have not linked all these publicly documented facts together might have something to do with their being owned by his friends. Epstein's phone book proves he has many friends in media and government. The Mockingbird will examine all 98 pages for more persons of interest in the coming weeks.

Southern air transport ran into money trouble and it's route was taken over by Evergreen Aviation, which also had a history of connection to the CIA. Evergreen, despite it's own recent financial problems, still keeps one Boeing 747 in Columbus and still maintains regular service to Hon Kong. The only terminal that can serve that aircraft is owned by Landmark Aviation.

Landmark Aviation's core business is fixed base operations, or FBOs. An FBO is a sort of private air terminal, fueling and maintenance facility for charter, business and private aircraft. Some FBOs are very bare bones. Landmark's Columbus FBO is a posh facility with showers, conference rooms, a dedicated concierge and even its own Customs Inspection.

Landmark Aviation was alleged to have been the FBO of choice for the CIA's extraordinary rendition program, known as the "torture taxi." Under that program, people were kidnapped, flown to black sites around the globe and tortured for months or years. European governments were aware of this program and some even issued arrest warrants for CIA officers involved.

Landmark Aviation cleaned up it's image somewhat since the revelations. It was sold and split with FBO operations being put into trusteeship. One of those trustees was former CIA director James Slesinger. It was later sold to the Bush family friendly Carlyle Group.

Landmark Aviation took over it's Columbus Customs facility from Lane Aviation less than a year after the latter opened it in partnership with former. Epstein's phone book listed Lane Aviation as the sole FBO in Columbus. It is not known if he still uses it, but Landmark's facility does have more posh amenities fit for billionaires, princes, presidents and spies.

The allegations being leveled against Epstein include trafficking minors for sex across international boundaries. The logistics of getting a minor across a border for such purposes would be much less complicated with the help of a Customs facility located in a friendly private facility operated by a company familiar with covert operations and making people disappear. Epstein is clearly no stranger to navigating that social space. Landmark even offers valet parking for the armored Mercedes.

Taking one step back to look beyond Florida and another step back to look into history and one views a different picture. It is of a billionaire and a spy's daughter providing minors for sex to very important people in a house full of cameras. That same billionaire has an armored Mercedes, a friend with a command center, business relations with multiple CIA backed airlines, connections to the mob, many friends in the media and was associated with the false PR that lead to the Iraq war. This should have more bearing on Hillary Clinton's election prospects than the recent location of her husband's cigars.

Posted this at the heel of last bread and was hoping to get some input. Built this mind map based on Q's request to dig into Les Wexner, but with no experience building a mind map, i'm not sure if i'm on the right track. I realize there's plenty of content that remains to be added… i'm more concerned about structure… like in which situations do i add a new parent node. For example, i feel like Southern air transport and Mob/Organized Crime shouldn't be children to L Brands…but they are connected. And Yacht: Limitless… should i have put a node before that called something like Real Assets or something? Get my drift?

Landmark Aviation's core business is fixed base operations, or FBOs. An FBO is a sort of private air terminal, fueling and maintenance facility for charter, business and private aircraft. Some FBOs are very bare bones. Landmark's Columbus FBO is a posh facility with showers, conference rooms, a dedicated concierge and even its own Customs Inspection.

Landmark Aviation was alleged to have been the FBO of choice for the CIA's extraordinary rendition program, known as the "torture taxi." Under that program, people were kidnapped, flown to black sites around the globe and tortured for months or years. European governments were aware of this program and some even issued arrest warrants for CIA officers involved.

Landmark Aviation cleaned up it's image somewhat since the revelations. It was sold and split with FBO operations being put into trusteeship. One of those trustees was former CIA director James Slesinger. It was later sold to the Bush family friendly Carlyle Group.

Landmark Aviation took over it's Columbus Customs facility from Lane Aviation less than a year after the latter opened it in partnership with former. Epstein's phone book listed Lane Aviation as the sole FBO in Columbus. It is not known if he still uses it, but Landmark's facility does have more posh amenities fit for billionaires, princes, presidents and spies.

The allegations being leveled against Epstein include trafficking minors for sex across international boundaries. The logistics of getting a minor across a border for such purposes would be much less complicated with the help of a Customs facility located in a friendly private facility operated by a company familiar with covert operations and making people disappear. Epstein is clearly no stranger to navigating that social space. Landmark even offers valet parking for the armored Mercedes.

Taking one step back to look beyond Florida and another step back to look into history and one views a different picture. It is of a billionaire and a spy's daughter providing minors for sex to very important people in a house full of cameras. That same billionaire has an armored Mercedes, a friend with a command center, business relations with multiple CIA backed airlines, connections to the mob, many friends in the media and was associated with the false PR that lead to the Iraq war. This should have more bearing on Hillary Clinton's election prospects than the recent location of her husband's cigars.

Retired United airlines Captain Philip Marshall became an irritant to the Central Intelligence Agency and its favorite "kingdom," the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with his constant unraveling of the Saudi government's connections to the 9/11 attack and his subsequent promise to expose even more "shocking" information about the 9/11 attack.

Philip Marshall and his two children, Alex, 17, and Macaila, 14, along with their family dog, were the victims of a hit contracted to professional assassins who specialize in turning murder scenes into murder-suicide scenes.

Marshall had been in contact with senior U.S. government officials, along with retired officials, who provided him with smoking gun evidence.

Brennan was not only a key interlocutor between the CIA and Saudi government but also served as the key agency interface with Osama Bin Laden's forces of irregular combatants, given the name "Al Qaeda" by the CIA.

The contractor for the flight training was Doss Aviation, a CIA proprietary whose principal was US Judge for the Middle District of Alabama Mark Fuller. The firm has since been sold to an investment firm headed by 9/11 Commission member John Lehman, a former Secretary of the Navy. Doss's subsidiary, Professional Aviation Training Service LLC, established in 2000 to support the 9/11 hijackers, was spun off the The Carlyle Group, of which the Bin Laden family, George H W Bush, Tony Blair, and George Soros are shareholders.

These and other CIA "folding tent" operations disappeared after their involvement in the 9/11 attack.

Marshall had been investigating activities at Marana airfield based on tips he received from veterans of the Iran-contra affair.
Marshall, himself, was a CIA contract pilot for Marana-based Intermountain Aviation in the early 1980s, flying CIA/Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) informant and pilot Barry Seal on missions out of Lakefront airport, New Orleans; Mena, Arkansas; Nicaragua; and Colombia. Marana was a project headed by the late General George Doole, the CIA's secret aviation director who ran such airlines as Civil air transport, air America, air Asia, Intermountain Aviation, Southern air transport, and Evergreen International. Journalist Michael Hastings reportedly working on story about CIA chief right before his death.

Journalist Michael Hastings, who was killed in a fiery car crash in June, reportedly had been working on several big stories including one on CIA Director John Brennan before his death.

Hastings had focused his latest project on Brennan, the former White House counter-terrorism adviser and current CIA director.

Hastings' wife Elise Jordan also told CNN that a Brennan piece from her late husband will soon be published in Rolling Stone magazine. [28]

Earlier that day, Hastings had sent an email to his editor at the website Buzzfeed alerting him that 'the Feds are interviewing my "close friends and associates." Perhaps if the authorities arrive "BuzzFeed GQ," er HQ, may be wise to immediately request legal counsel before any conversations or interviews about our news-gathering practices or related journalism issues.'

He added that 'Also: I'm onto a big story, and need to go off the radar for a bit.'

NC Based airline Implicated In Shipping Arms To "Rebels" In Venezuela

While the United States has done everything in its power to turn Syria into Libya 2.0, it appears the U.S. is now attempting to turn Venezuela into Libya 3.0. Using many of the same tactics utilized in Syria and Libya, the US is utilizing political pressure, sanctions, and the establishment of a parallel government to weaken and overthrow the Maduro government in Venezuela. Now, however, there is evidence that the U.S. is going further and adding the arming of "rebels" to its toolkit in South America.

According to a report by McClatchy, a North Carolina-based freight company has been implicated in an arms smuggling operation to Venezuela. After McClatchy's report was published, the company halted flights to the country.

This revelation comes after Venezuelan authorities claimed to have discovered 19 assault weapons, 118 ammunition cartridges, and 90 military-grade radio antennas on board a U.S.-owned plane that had flown into Valencia from Miami. The Boeing 767 is owned by 21 air which is based in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Interestingly enough, the plane made around 40 round-trip flights between Miami and various locations in Venezuela and Colombia since January 11, the day after Maduro was sworn in to a second term as President. However, the flights abruptly ended after McClatchy first reported on them.

In a surprisingly coherent interview, Democracy Now! talked to Tim Johnson, the McClatchy reporter who broke the story. The transcript of that interview is below:

JUAN GONZÁLEZ: We turn now to Venezuela. A North Carolina-based air freight company has halted flights to that country following a report by McClatchy linking it to possible arms smuggling. Last week, Venezuelan authorities claimed they uncovered 19 assault weapons, 118 ammunition cartridges and 90 military-grade radio antennas on board a U.S.-owned plane that had flown from Miami into Valencia, Venezuela's third-largest city. The Boeing 767 is owned by a company called 21 air based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The plane had made nearly 40 round-trip flights between Miami and spots in Venezuela and Colombia since January 11th, which is the day after Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was sworn in to a second term. The flights ended after McClatchy first reported on them. Venezuela accused the U.S. government of sending the arms as part of its attempt to topple the Maduro government. Bolivarian National Guard General Endes Palencia Ortiz said, "This materiel was destined for criminal groups and terrorist actions in the country, financed by the fascist extreme right and the government of the United States."

AMY GOODMAN: 21 air has denied knowledge of the arms shipment, saying the flight had been chartered by another company called GPS-air, which also denied sending arms. While no definitive links between 21 air and the U.S. government have been established, McClatchy reports the chairman of 21 air, Adolfo Moreno, as well as another employee at the company have ties to Gemini air Cargo, which was involved in the CIA's rendition program during the administration of George W. Bush. In 2006, Amnesty International identified Gemini as a front company that had authorization to land on U.S. military bases worldwide.

The CIA has a long history of running front companies for covert actions. Most famously, the CIA ran a front airline called air America, which operated from 1950 to 1976. In the '80s, a CIA front company called Southern air transport was used to send arms to the U.S.-backed Contras in Nicaragua.

Crittenden described flying several flights carrying CIA money to offshore depositories on Grand Cayman Island for deposit into BCCI. In one case, he carried 40 million dollars.[3] Other CIA assets, including Trenton Parker and Gunther Russbacher, had years earlier described doing the same.

Crittenden said that the BCCI bank not only held the account for Shamrock Corporation, one of the money-disbursing proprietaries for the CIA, but handled money involved with the CIA drug and arms trafficking.

There were two BCCI accounts in which Stephen Crittenden had money. One was in the name of Crittenden air transport and the other was in the name of Thomas Kary. Stephen thought the account number of one of them was 09090011.

Three Levels of CIA Proprietary airlines

Crittenden described three levels of CIA operations. As it relates to personnel, level one would be typists and other office personnel; level two personnel would have compartmentalized knowledge, and level three would have a broader knowledge of a particular operation.

As it related to airlines, Crittenden said level one would be airlines that would be suspected by the public to be a CIA proprietary, such as Southern air transport. Level two would be an airline that had less of a public exposure, such as Evergreen International airlines, based in McMinnville, Oregon, with a tightly guarded base at Marana. Level three would be an airline that was virtually unknown, and which he identified as Crittenden air transport.

Arms Flights to Moscow During the "Cold War"

Crittenden described several flights that he made into Moscow during the Cold War period, including one flight in the summer of 1976 where a load of M-16 rifles were off-loaded. The load had been brought to Crittenden at Manila by Southern air transport. A load of Russian AK 47s were then loaded on the C-130 and flown to San Salvador in El Salvador. A prior load consisted of American M-16s. At San Salvador the unloading of the arms was coordinated by John Forsyth, who worked for James Pennington, the CIA's liaison to Anastasio Somoza, who headed the Nicaraguan government.

Crittenden said that the U.S. reason for having Russian and U.S. weapons in Nicaragua was to convey the impression to the news people that both American and Russian soldiers were in the country.

Orders From CIA Headquarters

Crittenden described how he received his instructions from the CIA for his various missions. In some cases, he called his handler at the CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia, named Ross Lipscomb. Crittenden remembered the confidential phone number as 202-357-1100, and when the switchboard operator answered, Crittenden would respond, "Access code 4613," after which he would be switched to his CIA contact. Stephen said that the "3" in the code signified that he was Level Three.

In some cases his instructions came on computer floppy disks that he would then put into his computer. He described receiving floppy disks on some occasions around 1978 from CIA asset G. Gordon Liddy, who in the mid-1990s was a Washington-area and nationally known talk show host. Crittenden said that the physical handling of the disks from Liddy to Crittenden occurred in the garden area of the DuPont Center in Miami.

Included in the floppy-disk data was information about avoiding radar detection while flying drugs into the United States from Central and South America.

CIA Stolen aircraft Operation

Crittenden described another facet of how the CIA (and the National Security Council under Oliver North) used stolen aircraft in the Contra arms and drug-smuggling operation. CIA assets Gunther Russbacher and Terry Reed described this practice. Crittenden described how twin-engine Beech D-18s were stolen and then sent to Volpar Aviation at Van Nuys airport in California for a Volpar conversion to nose-wheel from tail-wheel con­figuration. Crittenden stated that a Sam Virse from Memphis, Tennessee, took many of these aircraft to Volpar.

Elaborating more on this operation, Crittenden stated that Aviation Materials on Sweeny Road in Memphis, Tennessee, was an aircraft salvage yard containing wrecked Beech 18s, Queenairs, Kingairs, Barons and Cessna 366 and 377s. Reportedly, the owner, Graham Lotts, would give the aircraft manufacturer's data plates that were riveted onto the fuselages of the wrecked aircraft to Virse, who owned an airport at Bud Island in Memphis.

Gift of Additional aircraft

Several years after the formation of Crittenden air transport, in 1978, the CIA provided Crittenden air transport with seven military C-130s and one Boeing 707, which came from Evergreen International airline's operation at Pinal airport near Marana, Arizona, a small town north of Tucson. Again, no money was paid for the aircraft, and no money was owed on them. Eventually, Crittenden air transport had over 15 aircraft.

With these additional and longer-range aircraft, the CIA had Crittenden flying into additional countries, including the United States, Mexico, France, Germany, Great Britain, Egypt, Italy, Colombia, Bolivia, and Panama. Payments for these flights came through the CIA's Shamrock Corporation, with checks written on various bank accounts, including the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI), Valley Bank in Phoenix (a reported CIA proprietary), Bank One, and Barclays Bank in Miami. (Barclays is a major British bank, headquartered in London, with offices throughout the world.)

Common destinations in the Pacific were Sydney, Manila, and Singapore. Out of Miami, common destinations included San Salvador in El Salvador; Guatemala City in Guatemala; Managua in Nicaragua; San Jose in Costa Rica; Panama City in Panama.

The C-123s flying from Bangkok to Manila carried approximately 10 to 12,000 pounds of heroin. Because of the large amount of fuel necessary on the long over-water flights from Southeast Asia, the C-130s, normally able to carry about 40,000 pounds, would carry only 10 to 12,000 pounds.

A typical flight from Manila or Bangkok to the United States would make the first stop at Honolulu for fuel, and then go non-stop to either Miami or Mena, Arkansas, often flying over Mexico. Special codes were used in air traffic control procedures that advised customs not to inspect that aircraft.

Crittenden said that the C-123s were used primarily to haul heroin obtained from the powerful Chung family in China. The drugs were sent from China to Bangkok in old DC-3 and other aircraft flown by independent operators, and then loaded onto CAT's C-123 aircraft. CAT's ground personnel at Bangkok handled the unloading and loading. The drugs would then be flown to Clark air Force Base near Manila, where the drugs would be transferred to long-range C-130s operated by Southern air transport. SAT then flew to the United States via Honolulu.

Branching Out

After receiving the long-range C-130 aircraft, Crittenden air transport then handled much of the Pacific Rim cargo for the CIA that was formerly handled by Southern air transport. These drug-related flights often flew direct from Hong Kong to the United States via Honolulu, often over flying Mexico. Southern air transport then confined its operations mostly to Central and South America, until it returned to the Pacific Rim in approximately 1987. When Crittenden shut down his Crittenden air transport operation in 1988 the CIA used Evergreen International to take its place. For some reason the Chung family was not satisfied using Evergreen, according to Crittenden, and entered negotiations with him to get back into the operation.

Crittenden went into detail describing the type of cargo he carried, the people he dealt with, and many specifics concerning logistics, fueling, billing, payments, and other data that could only be known by someone in a position held by Crittenden. As my exposure of government corruption became more widely known, additional covert agency people continued to contact me with insider information. After a multi-state investigation, WMR can now report that Philip Marshall and his two children, Alex, 17, and Macaila, 14, along with their family dog, were the victims of a hit contracted to professional assassins who specialize in turning murder scenes into murder-suicide scenes.

Marshall had been in contact with senior U.S. government officials, along with retired officials, who provided him with smoking gun evidence that current CIA director John O.

Brennan was not only a key interlocutor between the CIA and Saudi government but also served as the key agency interface with Osama Bin Laden's forces of irregular combatants, given the name "Al Qaeda" by the CIA.

The contractor for the flight training was Doss Aviation, a CIA proprietary whose principal was US Judge for the Middle District of Alabama Mark Fuller. The firm has since been sold to an investment firm headed by 9/11 Commission member John Lehman, a former Secretary of the Navy. Doss's subsidiary, Professional Aviation Training Service LLC, established in 2000 to support the 9/11 hijackers, was spun off the The Carlyle Group, of which the Bin Laden family, George H W Bush, Tony Blair, and George Soros are shareholders.

These and other CIA "folding tent" operations disappeared after their involvement in the 9/11 attack.
Marshall had been investigating activities at Marana airfield based on tips he received from veterans of the Iran-contra affair.
Marshall, himself, was a CIA contract pilot for Marana-based Intermountain Aviation in the early 1980s, flying CIA/Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) informant and pilot Barry Seal on missions out of Lakefront airport, New Orleans; Mena, Arkansas; Nicaragua; and Colombia. Somoza was the CIA's choice to head Nicaragua, and his removal through elections was the start of the United States' war in that country.

Crittenden described flying several flights carrying CIA money to offshore depositories on Grand Cayman Island for deposit into BCCI. In one case, he carried 40 million dollars.[3] Other CIA assets, including Trenton Parker and Gunther Russbacher, had years earlier described doing the same.

Three Levels of CIA Proprietary airlines

Crittenden described three levels of CIA operations. As it relates to personnel, level one would be typists and other office personnel; level two personnel would have compartmentalized knowledge, and level three would have a broader knowledge of a particular operation.

As it related to airlines, Crittenden said level one would be airlines that would be suspected by the public to be a CIA proprietary, such as Southern air transport. Level two would be an airline that had less of a public exposure, such as Evergreen International airlines, based in McMinnville, Oregon, with a tightly guarded base at Marana. Level three would be an airline that was virtually unknown, and which he identified as Crittenden air transport.

Arms Flights to Moscow During the "Cold War"

Crittenden described several flights that he made into Moscow during the Cold War period, including one flight in the summer of 1976 where a load of M-16 rifles were off-loaded. The load had been brought to Crittenden at Manila by Southern air transport. A load of Russian AK 47s were then loaded on the C-130 and flown to San Salvador in El Salvador. A prior load consisted of American M-16s. At San Salvador the unloading of the arms was coordinated by John Forsyth, who worked for James Pennington, the CIA's liaison to Anastasio Somoza, who headed the Nicaraguan government.

Crittenden said that the U.S. reason for having Russian and U.S. weapons in Nicaragua was to convey the impression to the news people that both American and Russian soldiers were in the country.

Branching Out

After receiving the long-range C-130 aircraft, Crittenden air transport then handled much of the Pacific Rim cargo for the CIA that was formerly handled by Southern air transport. These drug-related flights often flew direct from Hong Kong to the United States via Honolulu, often over flying Mexico. Southern air transport then confined its operations mostly to Central and South America, until it returned to the Pacific Rim in approximately 1987. When Crittenden shut down his Crittenden air transport operation in 1988 the CIA used Evergreen International to take its place. For some reason the Chung family was not satisfied using Evergreen, according to Crittenden, and entered negotiations with him to get back into the operation.

Crittenden went into detail describing the type of cargo he carried, the people he dealt with, and many specifics concerning logistics, fueling, billing, payments, and other data that could only be known by someone in a position held by Crittenden. Most of the loads were either arms or drugs, including heroin from Southeast Asia or cocaine and marijuana from Central and South America. Further Description of Drug Trafficking

Crittenden described numerous CIA flights transporting drugs into the United States. He described his contacts with Fernando Canles, then head of the Bolivian air Force, who transported cocoa paste in their own aircraft to Medellin, where it was then off-loaded for further processing into cocaine. Crittenden described flying Canles to La Paz in 1984 in a newly overhauled Lodestar 500 (a converted piston-powered Lockheed Lodestar).

Crittenden said that he gave Canles flying lessons in the Lodestar, and that Canles had an expensive condo in Key Colony at Key Biscayne, Florida.

Crittenden had described the many drug loads that he flew for the CIA out of Southeast Asia and Central and South America. He described various contacts that he had with known high-level drug traffickers. He described his Miami meeting with Pablo Escobar in 1990 to arrange payment for a CIA drug flight out of Colombia.

Gift of Additional aircraft

Several years after the formation of Crittenden air transport, in 1978, the CIA provided Crittenden air transport with seven military C-130s and one Boeing 707, which came from Evergreen International airline's operation at Pinal airport near Marana, Arizona, a small town north of Tucson. Again, no money was paid for the aircraft, and no money was owed on them. Eventually, Crittenden air transport had over 15 aircraft.

With these additional and longer-range aircraft, the CIA had Crittenden flying into additional countries, including the United States, Mexico, France, Germany, Great Britain, Egypt, Italy, Colombia, Bolivia, and Panama. Payments for these flights came through the CIA's Shamrock Corporation, with checks written on various bank accounts, including the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI), Valley Bank in Phoenix (a reported CIA proprietary), Bank One, and Barclays Bank in Miami. (Barclays is a major British bank, headquartered in London, with offices throughout the world.)

Common destinations in the Pacific were Sydney, Manila, and Singapore. Out of Miami, common destinations included San Salvador in El Salvador; Guatemala City in Guatemala; Managua in Nicaragua; San Jose in Costa Rica; Panama City in Panama.

The C-123s flying from Bangkok to Manila carried approximately 10 to 12,000 pounds of heroin. Because of the large amount of fuel necessary on the long over-water flights from Southeast Asia, the C-130s, normally able to carry about 40,000 pounds, would carry only 10 to 12,000 pounds.

A typical flight from Manila or Bangkok to the United States would make the first stop at Honolulu for fuel, and then go non-stop to either Miami or Mena, Arkansas, often flying over Mexico. Special codes were used in air traffic control procedures that advised customs not to inspect that aircraft.

Crittenden said that the C-123s were used primarily to haul heroin obtained from the powerful Chung family in China. The drugs were sent from China to Bangkok in old DC-3 and other aircraft flown by independent operators, and then loaded onto CAT's C-123 aircraft. CAT's ground personnel at Bangkok handled the unloading and loading. The drugs would then be flown to Clark air Force Base near Manila, where the drugs would be transferred to long-range C-130s operated by Southern air transport. SAT then flew to the United States via Honolulu.
