How absolutely dare they besmirch the integrity of Democrat Coup conspirators! This is outrageous and can not stand. Honest as the day is long I tell ya.. Cassidy Hutchinson, E Jean Carroll, Avenatti, Christine Blasey-Ford, fine upstanding folks…
Jan. 6 Witness Told Panel That Lawyer Tried to Influence Her Testimony
Cassidy Hutchinson recounted to the House select committee how a lawyer with ties to former President Donald J. Trump said to her that she should "focus on protecting the president."
December 22, 2022
WASHINGTON - Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide who was a standout witness of the House Jan. 6 committee investigation, told the panel in an interview in September that a lawyer aligned with former President Donald J. Trump had tried to influence her testimony, the latest example of what the committee says was an effort to stonewall its inquiry.
"We just want to focus on protecting the president," Ms. Hutchinson recalled Stefan Passantino, a former Trump White House lawyer who represented her during her early interactions with the committee, telling her.
"We all know you're loyal," she said Mr. Passantino told her. "Let's just get you in and out, and this day will be easy, I promise."
Ms. Hutchinson told the committee that she had been told by several allies of Mr. Trump that he knew he had lost the election two weeks after Election Day but continued to push for any way he could try to overturn the results, first through lawsuits but then through increasingly extreme plans.
Ms. Hutchinson testified that Mark Meadows, her boss and the White House chief of staff, spoke with her on Jan. 2, 2021, after Mr. Trump had sought to persuade Georgia election officials to swing the election in his favor.
"He said something to the effect of: 'He knows it's over. He knows he lost. But we are going to keep trying,'" Ms. Hutchinson recalled Mr. Meadows saying, referring to Mr. Trump.
Another time, Mr. Meadows described Mr. Trump as in a constant state of fury over his election loss.
"Mark said something to the effect of: 'He's just so angry at me all the time. I can't talk to him about anything post-White House without him getting mad that we didn't win,'" she said Mr. Meadows told her.
A lawyer for Mr. Meadows did not respond to a call seeking comment.
Ms. Hutchinson also recalled John Ratcliffe, the former director of national intelligence, telling her Mr. Trump knew he lost but did not want to concede.
The statements were among a batch of transcripts the committee released on Thursday that also included notable testimony from Sarah Matthews, a former White House deputy press secretary. Ms. Matthews told the committee that on Jan. 5, 2021, Mr. Trump asked his staff to provide ideas on persuading lawmakers he called RINOs, for "Republicans in name only," to "do the right thing" and join him in overturning the election.
Ms. Matthews recalled that, as crowds began to amass in Washington, eager to attend Mr. Trump's rally the next day, he grew excited and opened the door of the Oval Office on a frigid night to hear them.
"You could tell how excited he was that the crowd was already assembled and ready for the following day," she said.
But it was Ms. Hutchinson's transcript release that captured the most attention on Capitol Hill. The document shows Mr. Passantino was not the only person who Ms. Hutchinson claimed wanted her to protect Mr. Trump.
She told the committee that on the night before her initial interview, another aide to Mr. Meadows, Ben Williamson, called her with a message.
"Mark wants you to know that he knows you're loyal and he knows you'll do the right thing tomorrow and that you're going to protect him and the boss," she quoted Mr. Williamson as saying, in an apparent reference to Mr. Trump. "You know, he knows that we're all on the same team and we're all a family."
Mr. Williamson did not respond to a message seeking comment.

Biography
Matthew Pottinger is Chairman of FDD's China Program. Pottinger served the White House for four years in senior roles on the National Security Council staff, including as deputy national security advisor from 2019 to 2021. In that role, he coordinated the full spectrum of national security policy. He previously served as senior director for Asia, where he led the administration's work on the Indo-Pacific region, in particular its shift on China policy. Pottinger is credited with raising awareness of Chinese Communist Party efforts to spread influence and interfere in various U.S. institutions, including academia, the tech sector and Wall Street.
Before his White House service, Pottinger spent the late 1990s and early 2000s in China as a reporter for Reuters and the Wall Street Journal. He then fought in Iraq and Afghanistanas a US Marine during three combat deployments between 2007 and 2010. Following active duty, he founded and led an Asia-focused risk consultancy and ran Asia research at an investment fund in New York

WASHINGTON (AP) - The House Jan. 6 committee will hold its final hearing of the summer the way the series began - vividly making the case that Donald Trump's lies about a stolen election fueled the grisly U.S. Capitol attack, which he did nothing to stop but instead "gleefully" watched on television at the White House.

Thursday's prime-time hearing will dive into the 187 minutes that Trump failed to act on Jan. 6, 2021, despite pleas for help from aides, allies and even his family. The panel intends to show how the defeated president's attempt to overturn Joe Biden's election victory has left the United States facing enduring questions about the resiliency of its democracy.
"A profound moment of reckoning for America," said Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., a member of the committee.
With live testimony from two former White House aides, and excerpts from its trove of more than 1,000 interviews, the nearly two-hour session will add a closing chapter to the past six weeks of hearings that at times have captivated the nation.
Returning to prime time for the first time since the series of hearings began, the panel aims to show just how close the United States came to what one retired federal judge testifying this summer called a constitutional crisis.
The events of Jan. 6 will be outlined "minute by minute," said the panel's vice chair, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo.
"You will hear that Donald Trump never picked up the phone that day to order his administration to help," Cheney said.
"He did not call the military. His Secretary of Defense received no order. He did not call his Attorney General. He did not talk to the Department of Homeland Security," Cheney said. "Mike Pence did all of those things; Donald Trump did not."
Testifying Thursday will be former White House aides who had close proximity to power.
Matt Pottinger, who was deputy national security adviser, and Sarah Matthews, then press aide, both submitted their resignations on Jan. 6, 2021, after what they saw that day. Trump has dismissed the hearings on social media and regarded much of the testimony as fake.
Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the chairman of the committee, is isolating after testing positive for COVID-19 and will attend by video. Rep. Elaine Luria, D-Va., a former Naval officer who will lead the session with Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., who flew combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, said she expects the testimony from the White House aides will "just be really compelling."
"These are people who believed in the work they were doing, but didn't believe in the stolen election," Luria said.
The White House aides were not alone in calling it quits that day. The panel is expected to provide a tally of the Trump administration aides and even Cabinet members who resigned after Trump failed to call off the attack.
As the panel continues to collect evidence and prepares to issue a preliminary report of findings, it has amassed the most substantial public record to date of what led up to Americans attacking the seat of democracy.
While the committee cannot make criminal charges, the Justice Department is monitoring its work.
So far, more than 840 people have been charged with federal crimes related to the Capitol riot. Over 330 of them have pleaded guilty, mostly to misdemeanors. Of the more than 200 defendants to be sentenced, approximately 100 received terms of imprisonment.
What remains uncertain is whether Trump or the former president's top allies will face serious charges. No former president has ever been federally prosecuted by the Justice Department.
Attorney General Merrick Garland said Wednesday that Jan. 6 is "the most wide-ranging investigation and the most important investigation that the Justice Department has ever entered into."
"We have to get this right," Garland said. "For people who are concerned, as I think every American should be, we have to do two things: We have to hold accountable every person who is criminally responsible for trying to overturn a legitimate election, and we must do it in a way filled with integrity and professionalism."

Abby Broyles, racist puke con't.
Sarah Matthews, a mother of one of the young girls who attended the sleepover, told KFOR and NonDoc.com that Broyles had insulted multiple girls at the party.
Matthews was not present during the night of the sleepover, and another parent confirmed the account of Broyles' actions based on information from her daughter to NonDoc.com. The homeowner of the house where the sleepover occurred also allegedly outlined and apologized for Broyles' actions in text messages to multiple parents obtained by NonDoc.com.
Broyles initially denied the allegations when contacted by NonDoc.com and said she was out of town, adding that the allegations were being "cooked up." She also threatened to sue the news outlet.
"I saw the tweets. I have been out of town on a fundraising trip, and they are awful and offensive and false," Broyles said to the news outlet. "I mean, I get trolled on Twitter all the time, but I don't know these women and I don't know what is behind this, but it's just not true."
"I'm running for office. You don't think this is a political attack? You don't think this is something they cooked up?" Broyles said.
In a follow-up interview with KFOR, Broyles claimed that she was "misquoted" by NonDoc and said she "never told them that I wasn't there."
After the editor-in-chief of NonDoc.com let KFOR listen to the phone call with Broyles, she said she was "caught off guard" by the call. Fox News Digital also listened to the recorded interview between a NonDoc reporter and Broyles.
"That phone call was terrifying and caught me off guard. I remember hearing the accusations and just repeating 'no, no, no' and then hanging up. I was happy to be in the TikTok video with the girls, which was obvious proof of my attendance," Broyles told KFOR.
Broyles posted a tweet on March 2 stating that she wanted to kill herself, which was shortly after removed from Twitter. She said in the press release that she made an attempt to end her life that night.
"On the morning of March 2nd, I made the attempt to take my life, but thankfully, God had greater plans for me. I am currently undergoing mental health treatment for severe anxiety and dependency on alcohol to cope," Broyles said.
The former congressional candidate said she will eventually return to politics.
"Once I work through my mental health challenges, I will be back to fight and protect our democracy, working alongside all of you - women, girls and working families alike. I'm making this promise to you: I will be back stronger than ever," Broyles said.
Broyles also wrote a Medium post explaining much of her life story, including mental health issues that she has struggled with, stating that she should have sought help sooner before entering politics.
"I should have asked for help sooner before I wound up Twitter roadkill, especially before jumping into the cutthroat political arena. I was recruited to challenge longtime Senator Jim Inhofe because I was fairly well known, a young professional female, and a huge contrast in every way to the 85-year-old senator," Broyles said.

Trump says people 'in the dark shadows' are controlling Biden

President Trump on Monday claimed nefarious unidentified individuals are controlling Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden from "the dark shadows."
The president offered up the vague and unsupported theory during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who asked Trump who is "pulling Biden's strings."
People that you've never heard of. People that are in the dark shadows,Trump responded.
"What does that mean? That sounds like a conspiracy theory," Ingraham interjected.
"They're people that are on the streets, they're people that are controlling the streets," Trump responded.
He then cited a case of an unnamed individual getting on a plane "from a certain city" over the weekend. The plane, Trump claimed, was "loaded with thugs" in dark uniforms who planned to do "big damage."
Pressed for further details, Trump only said the matter was "under investigation."

Trump may have been referring to false and viral social media posts earlier this summer that claimed anti-fascist, or antifa, protesters were planning to travel to cause chaos. One such post claimed the demonstrators planned to fly to Boise, Idaho, to start riots. Law enforcement denied that was the case, according to the Idaho Statesman.
White House deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews said in a statement that Trump was "referring to questions that need answers such as who may be funding travel and lodging for organized rioters.
In Kenosha, violent rioters who were arrested hailed from 44 different cities," she said. "An investigation is underway to determine who is funding these organized riots happening across the country.
Democrats expressed disbelief at that portion of the interview.
"President Trump doesn't just spread dangerous conspiracy theories and refuse to denounce them, he also makes them up on national television," Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.) wrote in a tweet sharing the video.
"Never forget that when given a chance to remove this man, 247-of-248 republican senators & reps voted to keep trump in office," Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) tweeted in response to the president's comments. "So much of this tragedy could've been avoided but gop leaders value power more than democracy or even your life."

Trump has repeatedly attempted to blame radical left-wing protesters for chaos in American cities amid protests against racial injustice. The protests have been largely peaceful, but have at times devolved into violence and rioting in places like Portland, Ore., and more recently Kenosha, Wis.
The president has tried to tie Biden to the more unruly aspects of the protests, though the former vice president has condemned violence and called on Trump to do the same.

Federal Prosecutor in DC Not Ruling Out Charging Trump Over Inciting Violence at US Capitol - Report
The US Capitol building was besieged by Trump supporters on Wednesday afternoon after the president called on citizens to continue to fight for what he called the legitimate results of the 2020 election.
A top federal prosecutor in Washington, DC has not ruled out potentially charging President Trump in connection with inciting violence at the US Capitol, CNBC News reported on Thursday.
Acting US Attorney Michael Sherwin told reporters on Thursday that the US Department of Justice was ready to initiate charges against anyone responsible for the riot at the US Capitol building, where at least four people died amid the chaos. One of the victims was identified as a female Air-Force veteran, shot inside the Congress hall by a police officer.
"I don't want to sound like a broken record. We're looking at all actors here," Sherwin said in response to the question whether President Trump could face potential charges. "Anyone who had a role and where the evidence fits a crime."
Protesters breached the Capitol as the congressional certification of Democrat Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 election was underway, forcing lawmakers to halt the meeting and leave the building immediately, with some of them having to hide in a shelter.

The events have been followed by efforts to oust President Trump, including either through invoking the 25th Amendment, which would see removing Trump from power and installing Vice President Mike Pence instead, or by initiating an impeachment procedure against the US president. The idea of impeachment has been voiced by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy.
"If the vice president and the Cabinet refuse to stand up, Congress should reconvene to impeach the president", Schummer said on Thursday.
Speaker Pelosi says that if Pence and the Cabinet doesn't move on the 25th amendment she's willing to move to impeach.
"my friends we are in a very difficult place as a country as long as Donald Trump remains in The White House."
- Lewis Goodall (@lewis_goodall) January 7, 2021
The idea of launching an impeachment, however, was not echoed by President-elect Joe Biden, who supports a peaceful transition of power.
In the wake of US Capitol siege, acting Pentagon chief Christopher Miller said on Thursday that the Defense Department determined to perform its duties "in accordance with our oath of office", and will execute "the time-honored peaceful transition of power" to Biden.
Wednesday's events have prompted several Republicans to reconsider their previous intentions to support his challenge to the electoral vote certification, with US Senator Kelly Loeffler saying, "the events that have transpired today have forced me to reconsider and I cannot now in good conscious object to the certification of these electors."
As a follow-up, several high-ranking officials announced they are either resigning or going to do so, including Mick Mulvaney, President Trump's former chief of staff, who told CNBC that he stepped down as special US envoy to Northern Ireland.
US Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, the wife of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, announced her resignation on Thursday, saying "our country experienced a traumatic and entirely avoidable event as supporters of the president stormed the Capitol building following a rally he addressed".
Others who have decided to leave the Trump administration include Stephanie Grisham, former chief of staff to First Lady Melania Trump; Matt Pottinger, the deputy national security adviser; Sarah Matthews, deputy White House press secretary; Anna Cristina "Rickie" Niceta, social secretary at the White House; Ryan Tully, the National Security Council's senior director for European and Russian Affairs; Tyler Goodspeed, acting chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers; and John Costello, deputy assistant secretary for intelligence and security at the Commerce Department.
In another blow to President Trump, tech giants suspended his social media accounts on Wednesday night, blocking the US president from a nearly 150-million audience.

Multiple Trump admin officials resign following D.C. riot
Several White House staffers have resigned after violent protests broke out in Washington D.C. Wednesday.
First lady Melania Trump's Chief of Staff Stephanie Grisham was the first to submit her resignation Wednesday, effective immediately.
Grisham joined the presidential campaign in 2015 as a press liaison and most recently served as White House communications director and Melania Trump's spokeswoman.
Grisham quit her position after a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol building Wednesday. Her job was set to end in two weeks, when President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in.
"It has been an honor to serve the country in the White House. I am very proud to have been a part of Mrs. Trump's mission to help children everywhere, and proud of the many accomplishments of this Administration," Grisham said in a statement Wednesday.
Following Grisham's resignation, White House social secretary Rickie Niceta and deputy White House press secretary Sarah Matthews, also resigned.
"As someone who worked in the halls of Congress, I was deeply disturbed by what I saw today. I'll be stepping down from my role effective immediately. Our nation needs a peaceful transfer of power," Matthews said in a statement Wednesday.
Thursday morning, former Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney resigned from his Trump Administration post as envoy to Northern Ireland.
"I called Mike Pompeo last night to let him know I was resigning from that. I can't do it. I can't stay ... We didn't sign up for what you saw last night," Mulvaney told CNBC Thursday.
Mulvaney was critical of how President Trump handled the demonstration, saying his tweet was "not enough."

Additionally, deputy national security adviser Matt Pottinger, European and Russian Affairs Senior Director Ryan Tully and Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Security John Costello also resigned, according to Fox News.
Mulvaney warned that other staffers may submit their resignations in the coming days.
National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien, Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Liddell and Transportation Secretary Eliane Chao are also considering resigning, the New York Post has reported.

Trump's Deputy National Security Adviser Matt Pottinger Resigns
Deputy National Security adviser Matt Pottinger resigned Wednesday after President Donald Trump's supporters stormed the United States Capitol to protest the results of the 2020 election.
Matt Pottinger was a prominent force in the administration on the president's aggressive stance against China and stood for Hong Kong's protests for freedom.
Pottinger intended to resign on Election Day, according to Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Jacobs who broke the news of his resignation, but he was convinced to stay by Trump's National Security adviser Robert O'Brien.
Media reports included O'Brien on a list of Trump officials who were considering resigning after Trump supporters stormed the capitol to protest the election.
Other officials announcing their resignations included First Lady Melania Trump's chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews, and White House social secretary, Rickie Nicet.

Trump Cabinet Members Discussing Invoking 25th Amendment to Remove President From Power - Report
The news comes as several Republicans, who earlier supported Trump's bid to reverse the 3 November election, have decided to support the certification of Biden's victory following unrest at the US Capitol.
Trump cabinet members are considering invoking the 25th Amendment to remove the incumbent president from office, CBS News reported on Wednesday citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to the report, they have not yet formally presented the proposal to Vice President Pence, whom the aforementioned amendment would make the US president.
Earlier in the day, Trump protesters violently stormed the US Capitol building, destroying property and seizing the rotunda room, as Congress was trying to certify the results of Democrat Joe Biden's presidential victory. The mass riot erupted after Trump in a speech vowed to never concede and called on the crowd to keep fighting.
As the peaceful rally grew violent, Trump has repeatedly called on protesters to remain peaceful and respect law and order. However, his Twitter account was suspended for 12 hours later over "violations of the social media platform's policy". Echoing Twitter, both Facebook and Instagram locked the president's accounts for 24 hours, ultimately blocking him from nearly a 150-million audience.
A curfew is now in effect in the District of Columbia and according to reports, law enforcement agencies are now pushing protesters away from Capitol Hill. At least 13 arrests were made and around a half dozen weapons seized. One woman was shot and killed during the clashes.
In the early evening, Congress resumed the session after officials said they had secured the US Capitol building.
Tensions Rising
Following the unrest, several Republicans have reversed their earlier vows to block congressional certification of Democrat Joe Biden's victory on Wednesday. Likewise, US Senator Kelly Loeffler during remarks on the Senate floor said she will no longer object to the Electoral College votes after today's violent siege of the Capitol Building.
"When I arrived in Washington this morning I fully intended to object the certification of the Electoral votes, however, the events that have transpired today have forced me to reconsider and I cannot now in good conscious object to the certification of these electors," Loeffler said on Wednesday.
However, Republican Senator Josh Hawley during remarks on the Senate floor did not reverse his decision to object the Electoral College votes.
"It's very vital what we do - the opportunity to be heard, to register objections is very vital because this is the place where those objections are to be heard and dealt with, debated and finally resolved," Hawley said.
Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump's Chief of Staff Stephanie Grisham has decided to step down over the violent events in Washington, DC. As a follow-up, White House Social Secretary Rickie Niceta and White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews have both submitted resignations. At the same time, media reports claim National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien, along with Deputy National Security Adviser Matt Pottinger and Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Liddell, are considering resigning.
Vice President Mike Pence, on whom Trump placed high hopes that he would block the certification of the election results, has condemned the violent events in DC, saying it will not be tolerated by the government.
"Peaceful protest is the right of every American but this attack on our Capitol will not be tolerated and those involved will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.", the vice president tweeted.
And we will always be grateful for the men and women who stayed at their post to defend this historic place. To those who wreaked havoc in our Capitol today, you did not win. Violence never wins. Freedom wins. And this is still the People's House. pic.twitter.com/ytErRKnk4O

Gallup: Trump surges to approval high, best ever OK from independents
President Trump's roller coaster approval ratings are back to their all-time high, this time thanks to the record support of independents, a group he needs to win reelection but has struggled with.
The latest Gallup survey found that 49% of adults approve of the president's job, up from 43% two weeks ago. Trump has never crossed 49% in the Gallup survey.
The pop came despite crushing media criticism of his fight against the coronavirus and push to reopen the economy.
But it also came as the stock market was signaling support, and many in the United States joined with his call to get the country back to work.
Trump campaign deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews told Secrets, "Americans want to see their president out front and leading in a time of crisis, and that's exactly what President Trump is doing. He understands these are challenging times for the American people, which is why he has left no stone unturned and unleashed an unprecedented, whole of America approach to defeat this virus."
Helping Trump, said Gallup, was the support of independents. "Most of the variation in Trump's recent job approval rating is among independents. In the current poll, 47% of independents approve of the job he is doing as president, the highest Gallup has measured for the group to date. 93% of Republicans and 8% of Democrats approve of the job Trump is doing," said Gallup.
The polling outfit put the Trump approval rating turnaround in a story about America's split opinion on his handling of the coronavirus effort. For that, 50% approve, 48% disapprove.
