Joe Rogan Reacts to Neil Young Back on Spotify
Story by Ryan Smith - 1d
Joe Rogan has shared his reaction to Neil Young's return to Spotify, more than two years after the latter quit the streaming platform over the powerhouse podcaster.
In January 2022, Young announced that he would have his music pulled from Spotify if the company did not remove Rogan's podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. At the time, Young was among a number of artists who accused Rogan of circulating COVID-19 misinformation on his popular show.
During Thursday's installment of his show, Rogan paused his conversation with writer and political commentator James Lindsay to acknowledge Young's return.
"By the way, Neil Young came back to Spotify. Congratulations, Neil," Rogan quipped. "And his excuse was he said that because all of the platforms are now allowing my disinformation, he's just going back on Spotify too."
"Great to know you've got some ethics," Rogan added with a laugh, before guest Lindsay said: "Well, everybody's doing it these days-disinformation."
Newsweek has contacted a representative of Young vial email for comment.
Rogan's repeated use of the podcast to disseminate fringe COVID-19 viewpoints led a group of 270 scientists and healthcare professionals to publish a letter in January 2022 calling on Spotify to take action against the spread of misinformation on its platform.
While Spotify responded to the medical professionals' request, saying it would publish its platform policy regarding the promotion of medical information and "add a content advisory to any podcast episode that includes a discussion about COVID-19," it stopped short of meeting Young's demand to remove the JRE.
Young subsequently departed Spotify after the platform stuck with Rogan. Other artists, including Joni Mitchell and Nils Lofgren, also removed their music from the platform at the time.
Young this week announced that he had made a return to Spotify, citing the expansion of Rogan's show onto other streaming platforms as his reason. In February, Rogan inked a new multiyear deal-estimated to be worth up to $250 million-with Spotify that saw the streamer drop the exclusive part of their contract, allowing his show to air elsewhere.
"I cannot just leave Apple and Amazon, like I did Spotify, because my music would have very little streaming outlet to music lovers at all," veteran musician Young explained in a statement posted to his website. "So I have returned to Spotify, in sincere hopes that Spotify sound quality will improve and people will be able to hear and feel all the music as we made it."....

Mel Gibson Provided 'Valuable Intelligence' on Child Trafficking for Doc
By Ryan Smith On 6/9/23 at 5:24 AM
Mel Gibson has provided "valuable intelligence" regarding children thought to be vulnerable to child traffickers in Ukraine, according to the founder of anti-sex-trafficking charity Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.).
Gibson has been a trending topic on social media over the past few days, amid claims that he was making a docuseries exposing a multi-billion dollar global child sex-trafficking market.
On Tuesday, the Twitter page Leading Report tweeted what it claimed to be breaking news, writing that the star was "allegedly making a 4-part docuseries on the $34 billion global child sex-trafficking market involving countries like Ukraine." The tweet has been viewed more than 11 million times with tens of thousands of people liking, commenting and retweeting the news. Matt Wallace said: "It's time to expose the truth."
Despite the founder of O.U.R., Tim Ballard, suggesting in January 2023 that Gibson was involved in his upcoming four-part docuseries, thescreen star's representative told Newsweek that none of the reports are accurate.
At the time the claims were going viral, journalistKatherine Brodskyquestioned the validity of Leading Report's information, suggesting that they had no source for their purported "breaking news." Returning to Twitter on Thursday, Brodsky wrote: "Just as I have suspected, the story about Mel Gibson producing a four-part doc series about child sex trafficking was FALSE & was being intentionally spread on social media and beyond, without ANY sourcing. A blatant example of how fake information quickly goes viral.Brodsky then shared a statement from O.U.R. founder Ballard received via email. (He was involved.)
"I stand by every word I saidin the video circulating around social media," read the quotes attributed to Ballard. "Mel is a personal hero of mine and called me back in 2022 with valuable intelligence regarding children who were rumored to be vulnerable to human traffickers in Ukraine. "Using that intelligence, we went to Ukraine, where Operation Underground Railroad, Aerial Recovery Group, and The Nazarene Fund were successful in beginning the process of dismantling a dangerous international pedophile ring.
"Mel deserves all the credit for taking the initiative to further the critical work that we do," the statement continued. "I am personally grateful for his support as we worked on this documentary, however reports this four-part series is actually being produced by Mr. Gibson are not accurate. It's being produced by Nick Nanton of DNA Films and includes several executive producers such as Kyle Cease, Tony and Sage Robbins, and others."
When contacted by Newsweek, aspokesperson for Gibson declined to comment.
Former CIA member Ballard spoke at a conference in Utah in January 2023 and detailed his relationship with Gibson, revealing the actor's passion for his charity.Though he's not credited on IMDb, Ballard claims Gibson did the final edit for his movie Sound of Freedom.
Through this relationship, Ballard claims Gibson rang him at the start of the war in Ukraine in 2022, and asked him to help rescue children from the country. "I told Mel, 'You gotta help me. This is gonna be expensive. I won't ask you for direct donation but can you help me film this? Let's film what's happening so we can get people to understand and they can support us,'" Ballard, confirmed that Gibson had agreed to help him. "Four months later, what I thought was going to be maybe a documentary about Ukraine, ends up being a four-part docuseries, that's almost done," Ballard said.
He went on to reveal that Ukrainians gave him over 10,000 names of children who'd been displaced by the war with Russia.
" Kari Lake wrote, sharing a picture of herself with Gibson as she responded to Leading Report's viral post. "Mel Gibson's heart and soul are in the right place. We are praying for you and rooting for you. God bless you Mel!"
Gibson-who over the years has been accused of making racist, antisemitic and sexist comments-was previously accused of making extreme claims about Hollywood's elite. Quotes attributed to Gibson read: "Worldwide, children are stolen and sold to pedophile rings. They're tortured, raped, and murdered as part of satanic ritual ceremonies. The murderers then drink the children's blood and they eat their flesh."
The quotes went viral in March, but aNewsweek fact check found them to be false. Gibson's spokesperson denied claims he'd ever made such comments.(this journalist is lying, he said earlier in article "declined to comment")

Ohio Statehouse Elects 'Moderate' Republican for Speaker with Democrat Support
Jacob Bliss4 Jan 2023
The Ohio statehouse elected a "moderate" Republican with help from Democrats on Tuesday over the Republican caucus's initial choice for the top spot.
Ohio state Rep. Jason Stephens (R) won the speakership in the statehouse on a 54-43 margin over state Rep. Derek Merrin (R), who was considered the speaker-elect after he won the unofficial vote from his caucus only three months ago. Stephens won support from all 32 Democrats in the statehouse and another 22 other Republicans, while Merrin only received 43 votes, which all came from Republicans.
According to Cleveland.com, over the last few days, Stephens and his allies won support from the Democrats to propel him into the speakership. Without the support from the Democrats, Stephens' bid for the speakership against Merrin would have split the vote, and neither candidate would receive a majority of the votes needed.
Cleveland.com's Jeremy Pelzer explained:
Merrin was expected to move the House even farther to the right than the GOP-dominated chamber has been in recent years, backing measures that, to date, haven't passed -including a near-total abortion ban, an anti-union "right-to-work" bill, a proposal to phase out Ohio's income tax, and a "backpack bill" that would expand school vouchers. Stephens, while conservative, is not considered to be as far to the right as Merrin.
It's the second time in four years that a Republican has been elected speaker of the Ohio House thanks to votes from Democrats. In 2019, Democrats provided Larry Householder the votes he needed to unseat then-Speaker Ryan Smith, though they later came under criticism after Householder was arrested the following year and charged with overseeing a $60 million bribery scheme.
As speaker, Stephens will have broad power over which bills are voted on by the lower chamber and which die in committee. State lawmakers will have to pass a massive new two-year state budget plan this year and have a number of controversial issues to tackle, from abortion to taxes.
(Why is school choice vouchers a "blackpill"? Because the Education labor union owns the democrats!)

Don Lemon Faces 'Ethical Questions' Over Jussie Smollett's Tip-Off Testimony
By Ryan Smith On 12/9/21 at 7:04 AM EST
CNN anchor Don Lemon is facing "ethical questions," after it was claimed in court that he had warned Jussie Smollett about the police investigation into his alleged racist and homophobic attack.
Former Empire star Smollett is currently awaiting the jury's verdict, after standing trial amid accusations he orchestrated his own alleged attack by two men in 2019 on the streets of Chicago, during which he stated that a noose was tied around his neck.
During a court testimony earlier this week, Smollett alleged that Lemon had sent him a message informing him that the Chicago Police Department did not believe his account of what had happened on the night in question.

Alec Baldwin Tried to Work Out a Deal to Finish 'Rust' After Fatal Shooting
By Gene Maddaus
Alec Baldwin tried to arrange a settlement with the widower of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins which would have allowed filmmakers to complete "Rust," the production on which Hutchins was killed last October.
Baldwin revealed the efforts in an arbitration filing on Friday. The settlement discussions ended when Matthew Hutchins filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Baldwin and others in the film last month.
Baldwin filed an arbitration demand Friday against Ryan Smith, the lead producer on on the film, and against Rust Move Productions LLC, the production entity. His attorneys are seeking to invoke the indemnification clause of his producer contract, which would force Smith and the production entity to assume liability for all legal claims and pay Baldwin's defense costs. The filing also provides a detailed narrative of Baldwin's involvement in the film.

Alec Baldwin claims no liability for fatal 'Rust' shooting, says contract keeps him safe
A new filing gives the most detailed account of the fatal incident to date.
Alec Baldwin claims, in his most detailed account of the incident yet, that he is not responsible for the fatal shooting of 'Rust' cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Since Hutchins' untimely death in October, Baldwin - an actor and producer on the film - has been named in a number of lawsuits seeking damages for the fatal incident.
However, in an arbitration demand filed by Baldwin's attorneys on Friday, the producer's legal team claimed that his contract insulates him from financial liability in Hutchins' death, and additionally seeks coverage of his legal fees.
The New York Times first reported that the filing states Baldwin is not responsible for Hutchins' death because he was assured that the gun did not contain any live ammunition - it also states that he was not the one on set tasked with checking the firearm for live ammunition.
As a producer, the filing claims, that Baldwin had authority over creative matters on set, but that others were responsible for hiring and budgets.
The filing describes in the clearest detail made available to date what happened on the afternoon of October 21, 2021.
The shooting reportedly took place after lunch while Baldwin was rehearsing a scene inside a church. The character he was playing was cornered and drew his gun, which Hutchins then instructed the actor on how to position for the scene.
"She directed Baldwin to hold the gun higher, to a point where it was directed toward her. She was looking carefully at the monitor and then at Baldwin, and then back again, as she gave these instructions. In giving and following these instructions, Hutchins and Baldwin shared a core, vital belief: that the gun was 'cold' and contained no live rounds," reads the filing.
Baldwin's legal team claims that he bears no financial responsibility for legal fees or claims related to the death. Instead, the claim passes along legal and financial responsibility to Rust Movie Productions L.L.C. and producer Ryan Smith.
"This is a rare instance when the system broke down, and someone should be held legally culpable for the tragic consequences. That person is not Alec Baldwin," reads the claim.

Entrata founder who accused 'Jews' of COVID-19 vaccine conspiracy steps down from software company's board
Co-founder and former chairman Dave Bateman claimed coronavirus vaccines are part of a plot to depopulate the Earth.
Entrata founder Dave Bateman stepped down as chairman of the software company on Tuesday after sending an antisemitic email to many Utah political leaders calling the COVID-19 vaccine a plot to "euthanize the American people," blaming the effort on "the Jews."
Bateman's email, sent early Monday from his entrata.com account, cited an unhinged conspiracy theory that says the vaccines are an effort, pushed by global "elites" including Bill Gates and George Soros, to depopulate the planet.
In a statement late Tuesday afternoon, Entrata CEO Adam Edmunds said Bateman had stepped down from the company's board of directors and resigned his position as chairman.
"Dave is no longer a member of the board, effective immediately," Edmunds said.
In the first sentence of his email, Bateman wrote that many of the email's recipients "will think I'm crazy after reading it."
"The spike protein in both the vaccine and the illness are attacking the reproductive systems of women, and will eventually erode the number of T cells in our bodies that can ward off infections," the now-former chairman wrote. "Don't get the illness and don't get vaccinated."
There is no proof to back up any of Bateman's claims. The conspiracy theory has been floating around in several different iterations since September 2020.
Bateman attributes the "former chief scientist at Pfizer" as someone who believes "genocide of our peoploe (sic) is underway."
Bateman is referring to Dr. Michael Yeadon, a retired British doctor who has opposed COVID-19 restrictions and believes vaccines are not needed to end the pandemic. Yeadon was a chief scientist of Pfizer's allergy research unit. He has been spreading COVID-19 vaccine misinformation for more than a year.
Bateman's email included an antisemitic screed, blaming "the Jews" for the nefarious scheme, which involves secretly replacing the pope with a member of the Jewish faith. He writes that happened in 2013 with the ascension of Pope Francis.
"I believe the pandemic and systematic extermination of billions of people will lead to an effort to consolidate all the countries in the world under a single flag with totalitarian rule," Bateman wrote.
"I pray that I'm wrong on this. Utah has got to stop the vaccination drive. Warn your employees. Warn your friends. Prepare. Stay safe," Bateman concluded ominously.
Some of what Bateman says in his letter is not uncommon in far-right conspiracy communities according to Al Jones, founder of the Q Origins Project, which tracks conspiracy theories and extremism online. Jones is a pseudonym he uses online because of the threat posed by some of these groups.
"It's clear he (Bateman) is hanging out in some far-right communities online. The belief that the pandemic is actually a plan for mass genocide is extremely widespread in conspiracy communities. But, the belief that Pope Francis is a secret Jew is pretty rare," Jones says.
In 2019, Bateman made headlines when he extinguished the Utah Republican Party's debt from numerous unsuccessful legal challenges to the state's signature-gathering path for candidates. In 2018, Bateman accused Sen. Todd Weiler, R-Woods Cross, of offering a woman $1 million to file false sexual harassment claims against him. The Lehi police concluded there was no proof for Bateman's allegations.
On Tuesday, the Entrata chief executive apologized for Bateman's email.
"To be absolutely clear, we at Entrata firmly condemn antisemitism in any and all forms," Edmunds said.
In July of 2021, Entrata announced that it had raised $500 million through a private equity funding round, according to Pulse 2.0. Private investors included Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith, DOMO CEO Josh James, CEO and founder of Vivint Smart Home Todd Pederson and others, Pulse 2.0 reported.

>'Warn Your Friends': Utah Tech Founder Out After Vile Email About 'Jews' Plotting to 'Euthanize' Americans
The founder of a popular Utah-based software company has stepped down as chairman, a day after he sent out an unhinged email to political leaders spewing far-right conspiracy theories about a "systemic extermination of billions of people" supposedly masterminded by "the Jews." The fallout for Dave Bateman, who is also a prominent figure in Utah Republican politics, was swift. Just a day after he used his entrata.com account to push the antisemitic conspiracy theory, Entrata CEO Adam Edmunds said, "Dave is no longer a member of the board, effective immediately," the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
It was not immediately clear how many people received Bateman's email, but the recipients were said to include Gov. Spencer Cox, Ryan Smith, the owner of the NBA's Utah Jazz, and Utah Senate Minority Whip Luz Escamilla, among others. The subject line of the email was simply "Genocide," and the message began with the acknowledgement by Bateman that many readers "will think I'm crazy after reading it."
He claimed that both the COVID-19 vaccines and the virus itself were part of a nefarious plot to "euthanize the American people." "Don't get the illness and don't get vaccinated," he wrote. "The spike protein in both the vaccine and the illness are attacking the reproductive systems of women, and will eventually erode the number of T cells in our bodies that can ward off infections."
"I believe the pandemic and systematic extermination of billions of people will lead to an effort to consolidate all the countries in the world under a single flag with totalitarian rule," the former chairman wrote. "I believe the Jews are behind this. For 300 years the Jews have been trying to infiltrate the Catholic Church and place a Jew covertly at the top," he said, echoing antisemitic conspiracy theories that have long had a hold in extremist circles.
"I pray that I'm wrong on this. Utah has got to stop the vaccination drive. Warn your employees. Warn your friends. Prepare. Stay safe," he said.Entrata has since apologized for Bateman's statement, with the chief executive saying Tuesday: "To be absolutely clear, we at Entrata firmly condemn antisemitism in any and all forms."
Fox 13 reports that Bateman copped to sending the email and stood by his claims, but insisted he had "nothing but love for the Jewish people."This is not the first time Bateman has sparked outrage. In early 2019, he was accused of demeaning female attendees of a tech conference after proudly declaring that his company uplifts women, according to local media. Women in the crowd said they felt "objectified" after he asked them to stand up and cheer for baseball star Alex Rodriguez, only to dismiss them as "fans" seconds later and tell them to sit down like they were props.
In 2018, Bateman posted a bizarre video to his Facebook account in which he declared that his political beliefs had made him the target of attempted extortion and arson. "I wasn't very political as of about six [or] seven months ago, and I stepped forward to help the Republican Party avoid bankruptcy, and also to fight for all political parties in Utah...Doing this has attracted just a storm you wouldn't believe."
He played footage of a man allegedly pouring gasoline on the outside of Entratra's headquarters, then trying and failing to light it on fire. Bateman said he had "reason to believe his actions were politically motivated." He also accused Utah State Senator Todd Weiler of trying to "extort" him by offering one of his employees $1 million if she brought "false sexual-harassment claims" against him. Bateman said the employee refused. Police later determined that Weiler had not committed a crime; the senator assailed Bateman for roping him into a "politically motivated publicity stunt."
Bateman, for his part, blasted the police in comments posted to his Facebook account, which the Salt Lake Tribune previously reported: "It was clear to me the investigation was compromised from my first meeting with the detective. I provided the detective with a mountain of evidence, some of which he flat-out refused to even receive from me," he wrote.

US tech founder out after screed blaming COVID on Jews wanting to exterminate people
David Bateman, founder and board chair of Utah-based company Entrata and onetime prominent figure in state Republican politics, resigns after email diatribe
A Utah tech company founder and onetime prominent figure in state Republican politics resigned from the board of the company he started Tuesday after sending an email outlining an antisemitic vaccination conspiracy theory.
David Bateman, founder and board chair of the company Entrata, claimed the COVID-19 vaccine is part of a plot by "the Jews" to exterminate people, Fox13 reported.
The email attacks the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine and urges people not to get it. It claims the pandemic and "systematic extermination of billions of people" will lead to an effort to "consolidate all the countries in the world under a single flag with totalitarian rule."
The recipients included the owner of NBA's Utah Jazz, Ryan Smith, GOP Gov. Spencer Cox and Utah Senate Minority Whip Luz Escamilla, a Democrat.
Bateman confirmed he sent the email in a text message to the news station. He said he had "nothing but love for the Jewish people" but he echoed the assertions in the email. The email contained his personal opinion and was intended for a few friends, he said.
He has retired as CEO of Entrata, a property management software company, but had remained chair of the company's board. Bateman had also been a prominent figure in Utah Republican politics, financially bailing out the party a few years ago when its legal debt mounted during a court fight over paths for candidates to get on the ballot.
The Entrata board of directors asked Bateman to step down Tuesday, and he agreed.
"The opinions expressed by Dave were his alone and do not reflect the views or values of Entrata ... To be absolutely clear, we at Entrata firmly condemn antisemitism in any and all forms," CEO Adam Edmunds said in a statement.
His email was also met with shock and dismay from people like Blake McClary, another prominent Utah tech executive who runs the Salt Lake City chapter of Silicon Slopes, a nonprofit representing the state's tech industry. He tweeted a call for Bateman to step down from Entrata and "not embarrass us."
Rabbi Avremi Zippel of Chabad Utah called the email "blatant anti-Semitism" and a "flaming pile of garbage" that could lead to real-world violence.
"We know how quickly things go from ridiculous conspiracy theories online and in emails, how that jumps to violence rather quickly," he said.

Dwayne Wade joins Clown-backed Utah NBA Owner to push disgusting new cultural norm
note-pedo symbol in the braids
Wade played 14 years for the Miami Heat and the owner of the Heat offered him an ownership stake. Wade turned him down. Apparently, free Florida has nothing over kid diddling, clown backed blackmail and cultural destruction.
Ryan Smith (new Utah Jazz owner) is a super smarmy imbecile who says he got his start in South Korea, working for a sketchy NGO and his dad wouldn't let him come home, so he worked his way through SK and other shit to become a billionaire not tech guy (fucking people over with ads). You lose IQ points just hearing the turd tallk. He has a penchant for separating vulnerable children from their parents and delivering them to predators.
From espn (disney) announcement
Wade, 39, met Smith on a San Clemente, California, golf course shortly after his retirement from playing in 2019, and they became fast friends.
"Unfortunately, people in my community don't get this opportunity, and I do not take it lightly to have this opportunity. To make real change, this is where you have to be at the top and Ryan knows that. I'm thankful for him, and I know too that I bring a lot to this partnership outside of just my basketball knowledge and skills." (What exactly is Wade's community?)
Smith has partnered with Apple CEO Tim Cook to invest $4 million into the construction of eight Encircle homes, which provide safe-haven homes for LGBTQ youth and their families. (These are home where young children are encouraged to identify as alphabet crap as an excuse to run away and stay in a home with no parents and all the latest apple products so evil fuckers can take advantage of these vulnerable kids)
"We're not running away from the racial and social and LGBTQ conversations," Wade told ESPN. "I'm committed to doing the work. I talk about the LGBTQ community, which everyone knows is important to me. My daughter is part of that community.
"I don't look at this as only a Utah Jazz relationship. I look at this as a relationship that's multifaceted – business, basketball, me being able to bring Ryan into my world just as he's bringing me into his world."
Said Smith: "Every city in every state is looking at leaders in their community to help. Whether it's Minnesota, New York or L.A., '''what we do is something that can be leveraged to drive the culture of an entire [region]. That's the work Dwyane and our group are talking about."

Wade went on to say that it's the people who don't understand others' uniqueness are the ones who are "different," and that members of the LGBTQ+ community are "normal."

Republican Utah Governor Defends Utah Jazz Basketball Team Excluding White Students From Scholarship
Gov. Spencer Cox of Utah: "we're proud of the Jazz."
This evening on his call-in radio show, the establishment Republican Governor of Utah, Spencer J. Cox, defended the Utah Jazz basketball team in response to a constituent's question regarding whether or not he thought that it was racist for the team's scholarship opportunity to exclude white children.
"It's not racist," Cox responded. "Ryan Smith and the Jazz can do what they want with their funds. All kids should have equal opportunities, and we're proud of the Jazz." He continued "I'll tell you what I'm gonna do for the Utah Jazz: absolutely nothing. Because, you know what, I believe in the Constitution, and I believe in the freedom of businesses to make decisions that are right for them."
In a far cry from racial equality, Cox went on to say "Your kid or my kid have no right to the Utah Jazz's money." Most damning of all, he boasted "It's an awesome program. It's something that should be celebrated."

Cleveland's Martin Sweeney resigns from Ohio House
COLUMBUS, Ohio–Democratic state Rep. Martin Sweeney of Cleveland has resigned from the Ohio House after two terms in office, according to a resignation letter published Thursday.
Sweeney was set to leave the House after this year anyway after he unsuccessfully ran for the Ohio Senate earlier this year. His daughter, Bride Rose Sweeney, is expected to be elected next month to succeed him in House District 14, which covers parts of Cleveland and suburbs such as Middleburgh Heights, Brooklyn, and Parma Heights.
"This decision was made after great reflection and was not taken lightly," Sweeney wrote in his resignation letter to House Speaker Ryan Smith, which was published in Thursday's House Journal. Sweeney's resignation took effect last Monday.

Father, toddler son shot dead in Georgia; mother falls into ravine while fleeing attacker, officials say
11:07 10 july 2018
An American family of three living in the republic of Georgia died during an attack by a disgruntled shepherd, who shot and killed the father and young son, and caused the mother to flee in fear – until she fell into a ravine and died, officials said.
Ryan Smith, his wife, Lora Smith, and their son, Caleb, were pronounced dead when their bodies were found last week, days after the family was killed on July 4, the Interior Ministry of Georgia announced Monday.
Police began searching for the family last Friday after someone notified them that the Smiths and their son, all of whom have dual citizenship in Georgia and the U.S., were missing. Authorities began searching Khada Gorge, the Dusheti region of Georgia, and found a car and personal belongings in Tskere village.
On the same day, Lora Smith's body was found at the edge of a waterfall with "no traces of violence." Ryan Smith's body was discovered the next day.
An autopsy revealed Ryan Smith died from a gunshot wound.
Officials arrested a 19-year-old man, who they believed had shot Ryan Smith and Caleb with a hunting rifle. The suspect then hid the 4-year-old's body. Smith's wife fell into a ravine while trying to escape, officials said.
The shepherd later confessed to the murder and led police to the boy's body, Agenda.GE reported. He was charged with premeditated murder and faces life in prison.
Officials believe the murder stemmed from a dispute between the shepherd and Ryan Smith, but authorities did not provide further information.
The couple had been living in the country for more than 10 years. They received their Georgian citizenship in 2012 and lived in Marneuli region, Agende.GE reported.
