Days to go and there's only one argument Kamala Harris - and her minions in the media - can make: Trump is Hitler.

Or Mussolini, or Stalin, or Pol Pot - take your pick. If Trump gets elected, he's building concentration camps, ripping up the Constitution, sending the military to arrest his political enemies - hell, anyone who didn't vote for him - hosting Putin and Xi in the Lincoln bedroom, burning the country down and throwing Rachel Maddow in jail.

Well, most of us could get behind that last one.

Here's whatMaddow said about Trump votersat a Brooklyn forum in September:'I believe that humans can change and that redemption is possible... I am always hopeful.'(KEK, the witch just cast spells, there is no hope it witchcraft.) And the left wonders why so many find them to be supercilious and condescending. If Kamala were smart, she'd do what Obama did and reach out to, rather than demonize, those who disagree. But she's not smart. This, we know.

During her disastrous town hall on CNN Wednesday night, she gave only one clear and succinct answer.

'Do you think,' host Anderson Cooper asked, 'Donald Trump is a fascist?' 'Yes I do,' Kamala said. 'Yes I do.'

You could see it in her eyes:She thought this was her mic-drop moment. But no one in the audience - composed largely of voters, Cooper said, inclined to vote for her anyway - clapped or responded in kind. The campaign of 'joy' and 'vibes' has gone quite dark indeed. Trump-as-Hitler is the left's new talking point, uttered with grave seriousness to voters still too stupid, ignorant, racist or xenophobic to get it, apparently.

Despite having a Jewish daughter and Jewish grandchildren, Trump is a Nazi. His upcoming rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday? Nazi rally. His stalwart, full-throated defense of Israel? Best left undiscussed.

Ex-Trump Chief-of-Staff John Kelly's four-year-old claim that the former president admired Hitler - disinterred by The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg and denied by a Trump spokesperson - is also making the rounds, though itbegs the question: If Kelly believed Trump was such a Hitler acolyte, why didn't he resign right then?Why not sound the alarm when it really mattered? Could Kelly, who was fired by Trump, be seeking revenge?

Nick Ayers, former chief of staff to Trump's former VP Mike Pence, wrote on X that Kelly's claims are 'patently false'.

The media is ignoring that.The Nazi drumbeat, it seems, will go through Election Day and, if he wins, well beyond.

Sometimes, though, the mask slips. Take this exchange between MSNBC's Jen Psaki, getting hysterical - in both senses of the word - with top Dem strategist James Carville last week.

Psaki: 'It seems like you're saying we should go back to scaring people, because that's what they need to hear?' Carville: 'Yep.'

There it is: The quiet part said out loud.

No serious person really believes Trump is a threat to democracy - not least when you hear it from a party that staged an internal palace coup and put forward a nominee who hadn't earned a single vote.

Bret Stephens, columnist for the New York Times, wrote about the left's misguided Trump-fascist ploy two days ago: 'Aside from being gratuitous and self-defeating - what kind of voter is going to be won over by being called a name? - it's also mostly wrong.'Stephens is one of the Times' token conservatives, but somehow he got this past America's wokest newsroom.

GloriFi, Set to Close'

GloriFi, a Texas-based financial start-up that positioned itself as anti-woke, is set to shutter.

The company has been forced to lay off the majority of its workforce as crucial operational funding expected to sustain GloriFi into the beginning of 2023 unexpectedly fell through, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

In an email sent to employees Friday, GloriFi's chief marketing and communications officer Cathy Landtroop explained that "financial challenges related to startup mistakes, the failing economy, reputational attacks, and multiple negative stories took their toll."

Since the bank was first conceived, it blew through its initial investments, missed deadlines, encountered major legal obstacles, and suffered infighting among investors.

The company had made a point of calling out the liberal drift of Wall Street in recent years, offering clients the opportunity to celebrate their "love of God and country" instead.

Among the major initiatives that GloriFi vocally opposed were a slew of pledges from Citigroup, Bank of America, and JPMorgan Chase to prioritize environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations in their investments. Other financial firms have severed relations with corporate clients due to their involvement in fossil fuels and the firearms industry.

GloriFi had brought together many personalities from across the conservative world. Close Trump ally and PayPal billionaire Peter Thiel invested in the firm, as did Vivek Ramaswamy (author of Woke Inc.) and Georgia's former Republican senator, Kelly Loeffler. Former vice president Mike Pence's chief of staff, Nick Ayers, was one of the company's senior business partners.

The Daily Wire's Candace Owens, who recently found herself in hot water for defending Kanye West in the wake of several antisemitic statements, served as GloriFi's public persona in commercials and social-media blasts.

"I very much believe in GloriFi and view it to be the first true mark of what I perceive to be a competitive, conservative economy that is forming," Owens told the Wall Street Journal in October.

The company raised $50 million last year to fund operations.

Transition and post-election activities
After the election, Ayers was named as a senior adviser to the Presidential Transition, part of the group replacing the earlier team headed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.[42] Again, as after the 2010 election, Ayers's name was prominently mentioned as a candidate for chairman of the Republican National Committee.[43][44] Ayers made the final cut, with strong backing from Pence and presidential adviser Steve Bannon,[45] but ended runner-up to Michigan's Ronna Romney McDaniel.

In January 2017, Ayers and three other Trump-Pence aides were named as principals of America First Policies, a new nonprofit organization dedicated to defending the Administration's policies.[3]

Ayers was seen as playing an influential role in advising Trump to name two Georgians-Sonny Perdue and Congressman Tom Price-to the Cabinet.[46] "Georgia walks away with two of the most consequential Cabinet secretaries who happen to be the two most qualified for the job," said Ayers. "It's a testament to the president's extraordinary decision making and his appreciation to Georgia."

In March 2017, BuzzFeed reported that Ayers was a major investor in Independent Journal Review, a news website geared to young conservatives, with phenomenal growth in recent years.[47] Ayers does not exercise any editorial control over the site's content, it was reported.[48] Ayers Family Holdings also provides seed capital to Georgia-based startups in the healthcare and technology industry, and reportedly has invested millions nationally in technology, financial services, and healthcare products.[49]

On June 29, 2017, it was announced that Ayers would begin serving as Vice President Mike Pence's Chief of Staff.[51] and he assumed office on July 28, 2017, replacing Josh Pitcock.[37] Ayers announced he would depart the Trump-Pence administration at the end of 2018, in a tweet on December 9, 2018.[52]

Ayers wrote in a Aug. 4 tweet that, similar to "millions of conservationists and sportsmen," he is hoping President Donald Trump will tell the Environmental Protection Agency to block the project, which has been a lightning rod for controversy for some two decades and has been widely assailed by numerous interest groups in Alaska and the lower states, and also faced opposition from many Alaskans. Ayers lives in Atlanta with his wife Jamie (née Floyd), a former schoolteacher from Houston County, Georgia. They were married in May 2005. Mrs. Ayers is a second cousin of former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue.[9] The Ayerses have triplets, born in December 2012.[54]

RNC and Priebus, 2010-2011
In November 2010, in the flush of RGA's victories, Ayers was widely touted as a potential replacement for Michael Steele as Chairman of the Republican National Committee.[21] However, he declined to seek the position, and instead assisted Reince Priebus of Wisconsin, the RNC's Treasurer, in his campaign. Ayers's work was interpreted as a de facto endorsement of Priebus (and rejection of Steele) by the GOP governors, several of whom reportedly instructed their RNC members to support the insurgent.[22]

Following Priebus's election, Ayers agreed to serve with Ed Gillespie as the two leaders of the transition team for the RNC.[23] The Washington Times reported in 2012 that the two "quickly made drastic cuts to the staff and overhead and undertook a thoughtful strategic analysis to forge a path forward. Together, they convinced top staffers to come to the RNC."[24]

State and national consulting, 2011-2016
After leaving the governors association, Ayers in March 2011 joined Target Enterprises, an ad-buying firm.[25]

In June 2011, Ayers took a five-month hiatus to serve as the campaign manager for the presidential bid of Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.[26] Ayers was reportedly courted by four other campaigns, and Pawlenty called him "without question one of the best political talents in America."[27] However, after a major effort, Pawlenty failed to show well in early debates, lost the Iowa Straw Poll in September 2011, and quickly withdrew from the race, with a half-million-dollar debt. Ayers shouldered the blame: "I believe a campaign manager before, during, and after a campaign should accept responsibility and keep their mouth closed. So while there are always two sides to a story, mine won't be one of them."[28]

After Pawlenty, Ayers resumed his duties as partner at Target.[20] He started the political firm C5 Creative Consulting.[25][29] And, in 2015, he created the firm Advance Media Capital,[25] The firm bought air-time on TV stations in swing states months prior to the 2016 election, and then sough to sell this airtime to PACs close to election day.[25] It was dissolved in 2017.[25]

He returned to gubernatorial politics in 2013, when he recruited, and served as general consultant for, Bruce Rauner and his campaign in Illinois. The millionaire businessman was eventually elected, winning a contested primary with 40.1% and defeating incumbent Pat Quinn with 50.3% in November 2014. Rauner was the first Republican to win the Illinois governorship in 12 years, and the first political outsider in modern memory.[2] Ayers also led independent SuperPAC, Arkansas Horizon, efforts to help elect Tom Cotton of Arkansas[30] and David Perdue of Georgia[31] to the U.S. Senate in November 2014.[32]

In late 2014, Ayers sold his interest in Target Enterprises and focused his efforts on political management (through C5 Creative Consulting)[2] and investments (through Ayers Family Holdings[33]). The Wall Street Journal and Wisconsin Watchdog revealed in October 2015 that the "John Doe" probe of pro-Scott Walker groups and individuals from 2011-12, later deemed an unconstitutional invasion of privacy, had targeted Ayers's emails.[34]

In 2016, he was involved as a strategist in several races, including that of Governor Mike Pence for re-election in Indiana[35] and Eric Greitens for Governor of Missouri.[36][37] When Pence abandoned his re-election campaign upon being designated as Vice-Presidential nominee, Ayers served as a leading strategist for his replacement, Eric Holcomb. Ayers was also linked in May 2016 reports of billionaire Sheldon Adelson's plans to form a pro-Donald Trump SuperPAC for the fall presidential campaign.[38]


Pence-for-VP Chairman, 2016
Ayers was the first Pence operative to whom Trump's team reached out, to begin the Vice-Presidential vetting process, and handled negotiations between the Indiana Governor and Trump. Within two weeks, Pence was named to the national ticket, and Ayers was named to chair the Pence effort, serving as a volunteer.[35][39] (Trump campaign releases and some news stories used the title "Senior Adviser",[40] but Ayers had the primary role in Pence's campaign.[citation needed])

Ayers, Marc Short, and Josh Pitock formed the core team that prepared Pence for the July convention speech and the October Vice Presidential debate.[4

Perdue re-election campaign, 2004-2006
In 2004 at age 22, Ayers was named manager of Perdue's re-election committee. He was cited as one of the Republican Party's five "fastest rising stars in the nation" by the Atlanta Journal Constitution along with then-Louisiana Congressman Bobby Jindal.[10] Two years later, Perdue was re-elected by a 20-point margin (in an otherwise Democratic year), with Ayers having served as manager for the entire campaign.[16]

On October 25, 2006-days before the election-Ayers was stopped by the Georgia State Patrol for failure to maintain his lane, driving 50 mph in a 35-mph zone, and suspicion of drunk driving. Ayers himself admitted to consuming "a strong Jack (Daniels) and Coke", subsequently failed the field-sobriety test, and repeatedly refused to take a breathalyzer. He was cited for DUI; the charges were later reduced to reckless driving.[17]

Republican Governors Association, 2007-2010
Perdue was elected to a one-year stint as Chairman of the Republican Governors Association, and he named Ayers as Executive Director and his longtime associate, Paul Bennecke, as Political Director (later given the additional title of Deputy Executive Director).[18] The two young Georgians conceived an unprecedented four-year plan to professionalize the committee's operation and implement a long-range strategy, leading up to the 2010 midterm elections, when 37 Governors would be elected.[19]

Their plan was accepted by the Governors, and Ayers and Bennecke served through four gubernatorial cycles encompassing all 50 states.[7] At the beginning, Republicans were reeling from a terrible 2006 cycle, and held only 22 statehouses. When they left in early 2011, the GOP held 29 Governorships, a net gain of seven (including Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Virginia).

When Ayers began his tenure, the RGA was a relatively spartan operation with a budget of $20 million, and a low national profile. By the time his tenure was over, the Governors had increased their operating budget to $135 million and the distinction of being the largest political action committee in 2010. This success led to Ayers quickly being labeled as a rising star and a political wunderkind.[20]

James Nicholas Ayers (born August 16, 1982) is an American political strategist and consultant who served as Chief of Staff to Vice President Mike Pence between July 2017 and January 2019. He had previously served as national chairman for Pence's vice-presidential campaign in 2016, and as the former executive director of the Republican Governors Association from 2007 to 2010.

In 2010, Ayers was named as one of Time's 40 most influential people in politics under the age of 40.[1] He also was principal of the lobbying firm C5 Creative Consulting,[2] and is one of four leading figures in America First Policies, a pro-Trump nonprofit organization founded in January 2017.[3] From November 2016 to January 2017, Ayers was a senior adviser to President-elect Donald Trump's transition team.[4]

In December 2018, multiple news organizations described him as a leading contender to succeed John F. Kelly as White House Chief of Staff, but he decided not to take the job.[5] In addition, Ayers also stated that he would leave the Trump Administration by the end of the year.[

Early life and education
Ayers grew up in southern Cobb County, Georgia. In an interview with The New Republic in 2009, Ayers said his parents instilled in him a respect for public service from an early age; he recalled that in 1992, his parents voted for Bill Clinton and Ross Perot. Ayers described himself as being rather taken with President Clinton and then-Governor Zell Miller, a Democrat, in the 1990s.[7]

Ayers graduated from South Cobb High School in 2000.[8] He then went on to study at Kennesaw State University, where he eventually earned his B.A. in political science in 2009.[9] Ayers also studied international and government affairs at the University of Surrey in Guildford, United Kingdom as a part of a study abroad program.[10][11]

Career in politics
College activism in Georgia and first campaign, 2001-2003
While studying as an undergraduate, Ayers joined the College Republicans, becoming president of the school's chapter. During this time, he met Sonny Perdue, who at the time was planning to run for Governor. Ayers was recruited by fellow College Republican Paul Bennecke to join Perdue's campaign and serve as Perdue's "body man," taking time off from Kennesaw State University to drive and provide advance for the then-State Senator. He had initially gone to college with the goal of becoming a banker, but his role with Perdue - part assistant, part adviser, part protégé - convinced him to launch a career in politics. "I had no interest in joining the campaign. I had my career planned out. I truly did not believe Governor Roy Barnes could be beat at the time", Ayers said. "After 10 minutes of talking to Sonny, I was one hundred percent confident he was the right person to run this state."[12]

In 2002, Perdue was successful in unseating Democratic incumbent Roy Barnes, making him the first Republican governor of Georgia since Reconstruction.[9][7][13][14]

"When we won, I had the option of basically being the senior adviser to a governor or a freshman in college", Ayers said later. "I chose the gubernatorial post." Studying nights and weekends, he worked on his college diploma over the next seven years, finally earning his Bachelor's in 2009.[1

I really do not appreciate the idea that the State Bar of Georgia is unjustifiably tampering with my law license and making false accusations. The GA State Bar knows my reputation as a lawyer. The "grievance" complaint is nonsense.

Makes me think someone might be trying to drown me in a deep swamp and attack me due to longstanding business and political relationships.

I sure am glad that Nick Ayers did not get the job as President Trump's Chief of Staff. I think Nick stuck with Pence (who stuck it to Trump not too long ago as I recall).

Marc Short is returning to the Trump administration with a new title: chief of staff for Vice President Mike Pence.

Short, who previously served as the President Donald Trump's White House legislative affairs director before stepping down last summer, will replace Nick Ayers. Ayers left at the end of last year after he declined an offer to become Trump's chief of staff because the two could not agree to a time commitment.

Short, who worked for Pence during the 2016 campaign, will have an office in the West Wing. He's taking an usual step by returning to the administration - something most staffers who have left the Trump White House haven't done.

It remains to be seen if Short will return to the visible role he held before, when he regularly defended the President on television.

During his brief time out of the White House, Short joined a consulting firm, taught at the University of Virginia's business school and appeared on CNN as a paid contributor. He no longer is paid by CNN.

Alaska gold mine CEO insists Trump isn't blocking project despite conservative opposition

The CEO of a large proposed gold and copper mine in Alaska's Bristol Bay is denying reports that prominent conservative opposition to the project, including from Donald Trump Jr., has turned the White House against the project. In a letter made public Monday, the Army Corps of Engineers asked the developers of the proposed Pebble Mine to take additional measures to compensate for the effects the mine will have on wetlands and streams before it can be permitted. The move could push a final decision on the mine until after the election. Democratic nominee Joe Biden has said he would halt the project. Opponents of the project are suggesting the mitigation requirements are so significant that it would essentially block the project from moving forward. "Real mitigation is death for Pebble Mine, because it's impossible to mitigate the damage this project would inflict on Bristol Bay, its Tribes, and the people whose livelihoods and well-being depend on it," said Joel Reynolds, a senior attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council's nature program.

However, Tom Collier, CEO of Pebble Limited Partnership, the mine's owner and a subsidiary of Canadian-based Northern Dynasty Minerals, says the company has been preparing for weeks a plan to address the Army Corps' concerns. "A clear reading of the letter shows it is entirely unrelated to recent tweets about Pebble and one-sided news shows," Collier said in a statement Monday. "The White House had nothing to do with the letter nor is it the show-stopper described by several in the news media over the weekend." Nonetheless, the Army Corps' letter comes after a weekslong campaign against the project waged by prominent conservatives, including Trump Jr. and Nick Ayers, former chief of staff to Vice President Mike Pence. That political pressure has also included Tucker Carlson, who ran a segment against Pebble Mine on his Fox News show, featuring Bass Pro Shops CEO Johnny Morris and GOP donor Andrew Sabin. "I don't know the argument yet, but I would certainly listen to both sides," Trump said earlier this month when asked about his son's opposition to the project. "My son has some very strong opinions, and he is very much of an environmentalist."

Alaska's Republican senators in a statement on Monday backed the Army Corps's decision not to issue a permit to Pebble Mine as proposed. "I agree that a permit should not be issued," said Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who leads the Senate Energy Committee. "And I thank the administration for its commitment to the protection of this world-class watershed and salmon fishery." Sen. Dan Sullivan also supported the decision, and he said it was based on "the best available science and a rigorous, fair process," rejecting suggestions from Pebble proponents that politics have tainted the review. Just last month, it had appeared the Pebble Mine project was headed for a speedy approval. The Army Corps of Engineers issued a final environmental analysis last month, ultimately finding the mine, which would be the largest in North America, poses no serious risks. A senior administration official, however, told the Wall Street Journal the White House's National Economic Council has been reviewing the Pebble project for months. "All those reports kind of said the same thing: not enough facts, nowhere near the right mitigation, and the project would result in significant degradation of the environment," that official told the Wall Street Journal. "We do support mining. But this just didn't work."

He owns just one suit, but he has enough lofty connections to influence government decisions in the war against Covid-19. These scientists and their backers describe their work as a lockdown-era Manhattan Project, a nod to the World War II group of scientists who helped develop the atomic bomb. This time around, the scientists are marshaling brains and money to distill unorthodox ideas gleaned from around the globe. They call themselves Scientists to Stop Covid-19, and they include chemical biologists, an immunobiologist, a neurobiologist, a chronobiologist, an oncologist, a gastroenterologist, an epidemiologist and a nuclear scientist. Of the scientists at the center of the project, biologist Michael Rosbash, a 2017 Nobel Prize winner, said, "There's no question that I'm the least qualified."

This group, whose work hasn't been previously reported, has acted as the go-between for pharmaceutical companies looking for a reputable link to Trump administration decision makers. They are working remotely as an ad hoc review board for the flood of research on the coronavirus, weeding out flawed studies before they reach policy makers. The group has compiled a confidential 17-page report that calls for a number of unorthodox methods against the virus. One big idea is treating patients with powerful drugs previously used against Ebola, with far heftier dosages than have been tried in the past. The Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs have already implemented specific recommendations, such as slashing manufacturing regulations and requirements for specific coronavirus drugs.

National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins told people this month that he agreed with most of the recommendations in the report, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal and people familiar with the matter. The report was delivered to cabinet members and Vice President Mike Pence, head of the administration's coronavirus task force. Dr. Cahill's primary asset is a young lifetime of connections through his investment firm. They include such billionaires as Peter Thiel, Jim Palotta and Michael Milken-financiers who afforded him the legitimacy to reach officials in the middle of the crisis. Dr. Cahill and his group have frequently advised Nick Ayers, Mr. Pence's longtime aide, and agency heads through phone calls over the past month. No one involved with the group stands to gain financially. They say they are motivated by the chance to add their own connections and levelheaded science to a coronavirus battle effort that has, on both state and federal levels, been strained. "We may fail," said Stuart Schreiber, a Harvard University chemist and a member of the group. "But if it succeeds, it could change the world."

Steve Pagliuca', co-owner of the Boston Celtics and the co-chairman of Bain Capital-as well as one of Dr. Cahill's investors-helped copy edit drafts of their report, and he passed a version to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Chief Executive David Solomon. Mr. Solomon got it to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin'. The group's members say they are aware that many of their ideas may not be implemented, and could be ignored altogether by the Trump administration. At the direction of Nick Ayers, Republican Governors Asscoiation (RGA) was deeply involved in defending Scott Walker during the
2012 Wisconsin recall race. RGA Emails were subpoenaed by prosecutors investigating whether or not RGA and other express advocacy
groups such as Republican State Leadership Committee, illegally coordinated their activities to defend Walker with Walker
campaign staff. The investigation was dubbed "John Doe II."

Some RGA emails were part of a package of materials leaked to the public in September 2016 expose in the Guardian
"Because Scott Walker Asked."[8]

An early email dated March 25, 2011, from Ayers to Scott Walker and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus laid
out a coordinated strategy to defend Walker in the June 2012 recall races:

"Spoke to Gillespie this morning. My sense is that everyone's heart (AFP, WIGOP, RSLC, RGA, CFG) is in the right place but no one
is clear on the entire battle plan, and that is leaving very vulnerable gaps in both the planning and execution of a winning strategy."

Here, Nick Ayers names key groups involved in the campaign coordination prosecutors were investigating; Ed Gillespie from the
Republican State Leadership Conference, Americans for Prosperity, the Wisconsin Republican Party, and Club for Growth.
The groups would go on to spend some $30 MIL in the recall races an enormous sum in a small state.[9]

Ayers laid down the battle plan and others continued to execute it. A September 2016 lead of John Doe documents to the Guardian
included emails indicating that Keith Gilkes, Scott Walker's campaign manager, held weekly meetings with the Republican Governor's
Association. On October 14, 2011 an RGA staffer wrote to Gilkes in an email -

"Josh mentioned he would like to make this a recurring call on Fridays at 2:30 pm (EST). Does that work for you?"

Gilkes replies: "This works on my end for a weekly call... Shoot me the phone number and dial-in when you have it."

Josh is likely Josh Robinson, RGA's political director who later boasted of "overseeing the largest independent expenditure campaign
defending Scott Walker during the 2012 recalls" in his biography.[10]

The legal problem was that both RGA and RSLC registered their campaign entities in Wisconsin as express advocacy groups, required
to swear an oath not to coordinate with candidates or their agents. RGA would later run a pounding rotation of ads attacking
Walker's Democratic opponent, Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett, and defending Walker.

Even the Wisconsin Supreme Court decision shutting down the John Doe case recognized that express advocacy ads were prohibited
and chose to ignore evidence of express advocacy by RGA and RSLC offered by prosecutors, see CMD's Mary Bottari report

Nick Ayers, the current chief of staff for Vice President Pence, will not be the next White House chief of staff, a White House official confirmed to The Hill on Sunday.

Ayers, who was considered one of the likeliest choices to replace John Kelly, will instead work for the super PAC supporting the president, the source said. Trump will settle on a new chief of staff by the end of the year.

Ayers announced the news a short time later via Twitter.

The Wall Street Journal first reported that Ayers would not take the chief of staff job. The news outlet reported that Ayers told Trump he could not commit to the job for more than the first three months of 2019, while the president sought a longer commitment.

Trump announced as he departed on Saturday for the Army-Navy football game that Kelly would exit as chief of staff by the end of the year.

President Trump appears poised to make Nick Ayers his third chief of staff as he prepares for re-election, replacing John Kelly with a wunderkind political operative whose confident, no-nonsense manner has ruffled feathers but also stirred admiration.
Trump is poaching the 36-year-old Ayers from Vice President Mike Pence, for whom he has served as chief of staff since the summer of last year.
Beginning in his early 20s, Ayers served as campaign manager on gubernatorial and presidential campaigns, directed the Republican Governors Association, worked on the Trump-Pence 2016 operation, and advised several Republican candidates over the years as an outside consultant.

Two White House officials told NBC that Melania Trump had told the president earlier in 2018 that Kelly had repeatedly turned down requests to promote some of her aides, even as Kelly's staff received promotions.
