Mike Flynn died if a heart attack after publishing info on Clinton Foundation. Yes there's another Mike Flynn
RIP: Breitbart News Editor Mike Flynn Passes Away
Dan Riehl23 Jun 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own here at Breitbart News. Mike Flynn has passed away.
Mike was well known and liked by a great many people, both in Washington, DC and across the conservative movement and we have little doubt additional tributes will be pouring in in the days ahead.
His wife Holly Flynn Pitt-Young released the following statement:
It is with extreme sadness and heartbreak to announce that Mike Flynn, an Editor at Breitbart News, unexpectedly passed away Thursday evening.
While Mike had many accomplishments, what he was most proud of, was being an amazing father, husband, son, and friend to all who knew him.
The family wishes for privacy at this difficult time.
Mike is also survived by a daughter Riley Flynn, through a previous marriage to Maura Flynn.
"Mike was a dear friend and was there in the trenches with us from the beginning. He was our original editor of the Big Government website and is and will forever remain an indelible part of Breitbart. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to his family on this terrible night. Mike will be sorely missed," said Larry Solov, President and CEO of Breitbart News Network.
Added Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow, "Mike Flynn was an integral part of the Breitbart News team from the very beginning. Andrew hand-picked him to launch BigGovernment.com and guide our coverage of the ACORN sting videos that put Breitbart.com on the map. He continued to provide institutional political knowledge that was indispensable for our development as a news network. He was also a great patriot and friend."
"Mike was a fighter, first and foremost. Whether he was running for Congress, serving as a Cruz delegate, or driving narratives on the pages of Breitbart News, he lived his life to advance the cause of liberty," said Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon.
Reached for comment, Mike's good friend blogger Jim Hoft said:
Mike Flynn was a dear friend. We attended several Tea Party rallies and conventions together in 2009 and 2010. He was always steady, kind, smart and fun. He was one of Andrew Breitbart's original warriors. In 2013 when I became deathly ill and nearly died from a sepsis infection Mike wrote my assistant and volunteered to post articles until I was well again. I was so touched when I heard the news. Mike and the Breitbart family filled in for me for weeks until I was well enough to resume posting. I will never forget his kindness. When I spoke with him this week we agreed to meet up in Cleveland. I will miss him dearly. He was a good man and a good friend. Rest in peace.
Tributes from co-workers, friends, and acquaintances are already beginning to flow across Twitter.
Very sorry to hear of the death of my friend and comrade from the original Breitbart days, Mike Flynn. RIP, brother: https://t.co/jedtgNQcdC

Why the dismissal of Michael Flynn's case could win Trump
reelection
By Michael Walsh
May 9, 2020 | 9:59am
"Until Thursday, Donald Trump's reelection chances were not looking good. The booming economy - the lynchpin of his reelection campaign - lay in a COVID-induced coma, his near-daily jousting with a contemptuous press corps was yielding diminishing returns, and the Democratic leadership was salivating at running the cardboard-cutout version of Joe Biden against their hated enemy, trapped in the White House by the coronavirus panic.
What a difference a couple of days makes. With the stunning announcement Thursday that the Justice Department was dropping all charges against Mike Flynn, Trump's short-lived first national security adviser, the tables have suddenly turned. Since the first month of the new administration, when Flynn was ambushed by a rogue FBI under James Comey, forced from office after just 24 days, indicted for "lying to the FBI" by Robert Mueller's kangaroo court investigation of the Trump campaign's imaginary "collusion" with Russia, and coerced into a single-count guilty plea, the president is finally free to go on offense against those who would have seditiously denied him his electoral victory."

6. January: Obama expands NSA sharing. As Michael Walsh later notes, and as the New York Times reports, the outgoing Obama administration "expanded the power of the National Security Agency to share globally intercepted personal communications with the government's 16 other intelligence agencies before applying privacy protections." The new powers, and reduced protections, could make it easier for intelligence on private citizens to be circulated improperly or leaked.
The new rules, which were issued in an unclassified document, entitled Procedures for the Availability or Dissemination of Raw Signals Intelligence Information by the National Security Agency (NSA), significantly relaxed longstanding limits on what the NSA may do with the information gathered by its most powerful surveillance operations.
These operations are largely unregulated by American wiretapping laws. Surveillances include collecting satellite transmissions, phone calls, and emails that cross network switches abroad, and messages between people abroad that cross domestic network switches.
The changes initiated by the Obama Administration in its waning days empowered far more agents and officials to search through raw intelligence data.

7. January: Times report. The New York Times reports, on the eve of Inauguration Day, that several agencies - the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Treasury Department are monitoring several associates of the Trump campaign suspected of Russian ties.
Other news outlets also report the existence of a multi-agency working group to coordinate investigations across the government," though it is unclear how they found out, since the investigations would have been secret and involved classified information.
8. February: Mike Flynn scandal. Reports emerge that the FBI intercepted a conversation in 2016 between future National Security Adviser Michael Flynn - then a private citizen - and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The intercept supposedly was part of routine spying on the ambassador, not monitoring of the Trump campaign. The FBI transcripts reportedly show the two discussing Obama's newly-imposed sanctions on Russia, though Flynn earlier denied discussing them.
Sally Yates, whom Trump would later fire as acting Attorney General for insubordination, is involved in the investigation. In the end, Flynn resigns over having misled Vice President Mike Pence (perhaps inadvertently) about the content of the conversation.

How the Army Corps' Hesitation Nearly Destroyed a City
By Al Shaw and Lisa Song, ProPublica, and Patrick Michels, Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting, September 6, 2018
When the worst flood in nearly a century hit Cairo, Illinois, in 2011, the Army Corps of Engineers waited for several critical days before following an emergency plan designed to save the impoverished, majority-black city of 2,800 people. A reconstruction by ProPublica and Reveal based on reports of how that week unfolded shows delays and indecision that cost millions in avoidable damage. | Related Story ?
This 130,000-acre patch of farmland in Missouri is the Birds Point-New Madrid Floodway. In 1928, Congress authorized using this land as an emergency-release valve for the Mississippi River - to save the Illinois city of Cairo during a bad flood, the Corps can blow up the levee protecting the floodway to intentionally flood the land. The Corps' guidelines allow the floodway to be opened when the Ohio River reaches 58 feet on the Cairo gauge (an instrument that measures water height), and if the Lower Mississippi levee system is at risk of failure.

Months of heavy rain and snowmelt lead to record flooding in the Mississippi River basin. On April 28, the Ohio River surpasses 58 feet, and water, bubbling up from beneath Cairo's levee system, is already threatening to destroy the city's defenses. That day, a Corps official tells Maj. Gen. Michael Walsh, the agency leader in charge of floodway decisions, to load the explosives and prepare to blow up the levee as soon as possible. Walsh follows another official's advice and decides to wait.

Two days later, another Corps official advises Walsh to make serious preparations to blow up the levee, but again, Walsh declines, believing they have more time. At 10 a.m. Walsh is advised one more time to prepare the levee with explosives. Walsh hesitates, thinking he might not need to activate the floodway, then reverses his decision, giving the order five hours later. But thunderstorms and lightning further delay the process by half a day.

At 4:30 p.m., Walsh tells Missouri's governor the Corps will open the floodway that night, but crews need all day to finish preparations. At 10 p.m., the river reaches 61.72 feet, an all-time record, just before they explode the levee. Experts say the Corps' delay in opening the floodway caused millions in avoidable damage in the Cairo area.
Walsh left the Corps in 2013. Through a spokesperson at his current employer, a consulting firm, he said he no longer represents the Corps and directed questions to the agency. Read our story to learn more about what happened in Cairo ?

White Cargo
White Cargo is the forgotten story of the thousands of Britons who lived and died in bondage in Britain's American colonies.
In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, more than 300,000 white people were shipped to America as slaves. Urchins were swept up from London's streets to labor in the tobacco fields, where life expectancy was no more than two years. Brothels were raided to provide "breeders" for Virginia. Hopeful migrants were duped into signing as indentured servants, unaware they would become personal property who could be bought, sold, and even gambled away. Transported convicts were paraded for sale like livestock.
Drawing on letters crying for help, diaries, and court and government archives, Don Jordan and Michael Walsh demonstrate that the brutalities usually associated with black slavery alone were perpetrated on whites throughout British rule. The trade ended with American independence, but the British still tried to sell convicts in their former colonies, which prompted one of the most audacious plots in Anglo-American history.
This is a saga of exploration and cruelty spanning 170 years that has been submerged under the overwhelming memory of black slavery. White Cargo brings the brutal, uncomfortable story to the surface.
Slave Masters in South Carolina, 1790-1860
published by University of South Carolina Press:
Most Americans, both black and white, believe that slavery was a system exclusively maintained by whites to exploit blacks, but Larry Koger's authoritative study portrays the small yet significant role that African Americans played as masters in the peculiar institution. By profiling South Carolina's diverse population of African-American slaveowners, he demonstrates that free African-Americans embraced slavery as a viable economic system and that they–like their white counterparts–exploited the labor of slaves on their farms and in their businesses.

1. June 2016: FISA request. The Obama administration files a request with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) to monitor communications involving Donald Trump and several advisers. The request, uncharacteristically, is denied.
2. July: Russia joke. Wikileaks releases emails from the Democratic National Committee that show an effort to prevent Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) from winning the presidential nomination. In a press conference, Donald Trump refers to Hillary Clinton's own missing emails, joking: "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 e-mails that are missing." That remark becomes the basis for accusations by Clinton and the media that Trump invited further hacking.
3. October: Podesta emails. In October, Wikileaks releases the emails of Clinton campaign chair John Podesta, rolling out batches every day until the election, creating new mini-scandals. The Clinton campaign blames Trump and the Russians.
4. October: FISA request. The Obama administration submits a new, narrow request to the FISA court, now focused on a computer server in Trump Tower suspected of links to Russian banks. No evidence is found - but the wiretaps continue, ostensibly for national security reasons, Andrew McCarthy at National Review later notes. The Obama administration is now monitoring an opposing presidential campaign using the high-tech surveillance powers of the federal intelligence services.
5. January 2017: Buzzfeed/CNN dossier. Buzzfeed releases, and CNN reports, a supposed intelligence "dossier" compiled by a foreign former spy. It purports to show continuous contact between Russia and the Trump campaign, and says that the Russians have compromising information about Trump. None of the allegations can be verified and some are proven false. Several media outlets claim that they had been aware of the dossier for months and that it had been circulating in Washington.

The New York Times cites "four current and former American officials" in reporting that the Trump campaign had "repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials. The Trump campaign denies the claims - and the Times admits that there is "no evidence" of coordination between the campaign and the Russians. The White House and some congressional Republicans begin to raise questions about illegal intelligence leaks.
10. March: the Washington Post targets Jeff Sessions. The Washington Postreports that Attorney General Jeff Sessions had contact twice with the Russian ambassador during the campaign - once at a Heritage Foundation event and once at a meeting in Sessions's Senate office.
The Post suggests that the two meetings contradict Sessions testimony at his confirmation hearings that he had no contacts with the Russians, though in context (not presented by the Post) it was clear he meant in his capacity as a campaign surrogate, and that he was responding to claims in the "dossier" of ongoing contacts.
