https://www.wlbt.com/2023/06/01/1-officer-dead-1-officer-wounded-during-standoff-brandon-neighborhood/
"The suspect, Gabriel Matthew Wilson, 22, is now dead.Tyler was part of Madison's Special Response Team and was responsible for overseeing the training of new officers. He also was a supervisor in the department's Narcotics Division.
The standoff started around 1:20 a.m. on Terrapin Hill Road in the Crossgates neighborhood. The Brandon Police Department says the situation began as a domestic dispute between a man and a woman.
"At approximately 1:20 this morning, Brandon Police Department got phone calls about a subject trying to enter a home with two females," Chief Wayne Dearman said. "They stated that he had a bullet-proof vest, handgun, and a rifle."
When officers arrived, authorities say the man barricaded himself and took a woman hostage. One of the women escaped quickly, while the other woman remained inside for several more hours.
Police say after hours of negotiations, he agreed to let her go but he did not initially surrender.
"We did get some compromise from him, and as we gave him what he asked for, she was able to run out," Dearman said. "She was checked out. She was uninjured."
Wilson apparently asked for water and glue sticks. Assistant Chief Marshall Pack conducted negotiations with the suspect on the phone. Drones and other tools were used to check the location and condition of the suspect while he was in the house."

John McAfee Indicted for Tax Evasion
Allegedly Hid Cryptocurrency, a Yacht, Real Estate and Other Properties in Nominee Names to Evade Taxes
An indictment was unsealed today charging John David McAfee with tax evasion and willful failure to file tax returns, announced Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Richard E. Zuckerman of the Justice Department's Tax Division and U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant for the Western District of Tennessee. The June 15, 2020 indictment was unsealed following McAfee's arrest in Spain where he is pending extradition.
According to the indictment, John McAfee earned millions in income from promoting cryptocurrencies, consulting work, speaking engagements, and selling the rights to his life story for a documentary. From 2014 to 2018, McAfee allegedly failed to file tax returns, despite receiving considerable income from these sources. The indictment does not allege that during these years McAfee received any income or had any connection with the anti-virus company bearing his name.
According to the indictment, McAfee allegedly evaded his tax liability by directing his income to be paid into bank accounts and cryptocurrency exchange accounts in the names of nominees. The indictment further alleges McAfee attempted to evade the IRS by concealing assets, including real property, a vehicle, and a yacht, in the names of others.
If convicted, McAfee faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison on each count of tax evasion and a maximum sentence of one year in prison on each count of willful failure to file a tax return. McAfee also faces a period of supervised release, restitution, and monetary penalties.
An indictment merely alleges that crimes have been committed. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Zuckerman and U.S. Attorney Dunavant commended special agents of IRS-Criminal Investigation, who conducted the investigation, and Trial Attorney William Guappone of the Tax Division and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Matthew Wilson and Damon Griffin, who are prosecuting the case.
Additional information about the Tax Division and its enforcement efforts may be found on the Division's website.

Baldur's Gate 3 enters Early Access next month
Baldur's Gate 3 will be available on PC in early access starting on the 30th of September. Those diving into this pre-release version of the game will have at least 25 hours worth of content to play through, all of which is from Act 1 of the game. You will also be able to move on to Act 2 and Act 3 during early access, with the rest of the story being held back until the full release.
If you watch the full video above, you'll see Baldur's Gate 3 creative director, Swen Vincke, talking about the different RPG mechanics in place, all of which serve to generate different permutations and choices in gameplay.
In total, Larian is promising five Origin characters, 80 combat situations, 45,980 lines of English dialogue, 596 characters and 146 spells/actions in the Early Access version. The game will grow over time and hopefully by this time next year, the full game will have been assembled.
