The British public has spoken, and they have collectively let out a sigh of apathy. The latest election results might have produced a landslide for Sir Keir Starmer's Labour Party. But going beneath the surface, Britons appeared less than pleased with the options they were given. Turnout was among the lowest seen since the 1880s when women (and most men) could not vote.
The notorious British press relentlessly promoted the far-right Reform U.K. party, but to little avail: Reform U.K. ended up with only five seats. Chief amongst those outlets were those of Rupert Murdoch's empire. The Australian billionaire - described by former prime minister Tony Blair as one of Britain's four most powerful people and an unofficial member of his cabinet - has worked for decades to push a reactionary agenda into British public life. This has included near-total support for the Israeli government and its expansionist project.
Today, "Watchdog" host Lowkey is joined by Alan MacLeod to discuss the U.K. media's relentless support for Israel. Alan MacLeod is a senior staff writer and podcast producer for MintPress News. After completing his PhD in 2017, he published two books on media and propaganda and regularly teaches media studies at universities. He has recently published investigations into Murdoch's close connections to the Israeli government and on Cyabra, an Israeli intelligence cutout organization posing as a neutral fact-checking group.
While Israel has failed to defeat Hamas militarily, it has been able to rely on the support of corporate media in the West, and most of all from Murdoch, who has extensive economic and ideological ties to the state of Israel. MacLeod noted that Murdoch was close friends with Prime Minister Shimon Peres and likely bankrolled Benjamin Netanyahu's presidential bid.
At a 2009 meeting of the American Jewish Committee, he explained that he saw Israel as the linchpin underwriting Western civilization:
In the West, we are used to thinking that Israel cannot survive without the help of Europe and the United States. I say to you: maybe we should start wondering whether we in Europe and the United States can survive if we allow the terrorists to succeed in Israel... In the end, the Israeli people are fighting the same enemy we are: cold-blooded killers who reject peace... who reject freedom... and who rule by the suicide vest, the car bomb and the human shield".
Earlier this year, another conservative British newspaper, The Daily Telegraph, went after Lowkey, claiming that a network of Russian, Chinese and Iranian bots was artificially inflating his online pro-Palestine messaging. The basis for this extraordinary claim was an intelligence report from private firm Cyabra.

Facebook Ramps Up Censorship Amid Israeli Pressure
Facebook's new censorship policy regarding anti Zionist content is being used far beyond the scope of its stated use to favor pro Israeli narratives regarding the Gaza genocide.
On July 10, it was announced that social media giant Meta would broaden the scope of its censorship and suppression of content related to the Gaza genocide. Under the new policy, Facebook and Instagram posts containing "derogatory or threatening references to 'Zionists' in cases where the term is used to refer to Jews or Israelis" will be proscribed. Unsurprisingly, a welter of Zionist lobby organizations - many of which aggressively lobbied Meta to adopt these changes - cheered the move. Emboldened, the same entities are now calling for all social media platforms to follow suit.
The Times of Israel noted that "nearly 150 advocacy groups and experts provided input that led to Meta's policy update." This prominently included Tel Aviv-based CyberWell, mundanely described by the outlet as "a nonprofit that has been documenting the swell of online antisemitism and Holocaust denial since Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza." These malign activities have had a devastating impact on what Western audiences see and hear about the Gaza genocide on their social media feeds.
In January, CyberWell published an extensive report on how it was seeking to censor many prominent X accounts that expressed doubts about the official narrative of October 7, including the widely disseminated, proven-to-be-false libel that Hamas fighters beheaded dozens of infants. Users in the firing line included popular anonymous Zei Squirrel, Al Jazeera, The Grayzone chief Max Blumenthal, and famous rapper Lowkey, of MintPress News. CyberWell claimed such legitimate skepticism was comparable to Holocaust denial.
The impact of these lobbying efforts isn't clear, although almost simultaneously, Zei Squirrel was abruptly suspended from X without warning or explanation, sparking widespread outrage. It was only due to relentless backlash that the account was reinstated. More recently, CyberWell submitted formal guidance to Meta on censoring the Palestine solidarity phrase "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," which Zionists falsely claim is a clarion call for the genocide of Jews.
That intervention is part of a broader effort by the firm to force the social network to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's (IHRA) highly controversial working definition of antisemitism. This definition, which has been condemned by many sources - including academic David Feldman, who helped draft it - for falsely conflating criticism of the Zionist entity and antisemitism, is a major inspiration for CyberWell. So, too, it seems is a sinister Israeli government psychological warfare blitzkrieg, concerned with "mass consciousness activities" in the U.S. and Europe.

Meet Cyabra: The Intelligence Cutout Waging Israel's Online Propaganda War
With multiple connections to the Israeli military as well as the CIA, and propped up by corporate media outlets, the cyber security company Cyabra is one of the leading proponents of Israeli disinformation and online censorship.
Lowkey, one of the United Kingdom's most prominent and outspoken opponents of the Israeli onslaught against Gaza, has been under attack. In May, The Daily Telegraph, one of Britain's largest newspapers, published a report claiming that Russia, China and Iran were boosting the rapper's messaging on social media "in an effort to stoke division" and manipulate public opinion across the country.
Central to the Telegraph's claims is a report by tech firm Cyabra, which asserted that 11% of profiles engaging with him on Twitter were fake, implying that an organized bot network was artificially amplifying his messages.
Yet what the Telegraph failed to inform readers was that Cyabra was not just "a tech firm specializing in countering disinformation online," as it claimed, but an Israeli company founded by military intelligence officers, half of whose employees have left to rejoin the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to fight in Gaza - and one that continues to openly work with Israeli military intelligence to this day.
Instead, the Telegraph allowed Israeli government officials to assert unchallenged that the United Kingdom was under "threat" from pro-Hamas organisations that are operating all across Britain with a clear purpose to impose Sharia law and to make Britain a Muslim island" and to advise that authorities must be "far more aggressive" against these "enemies" that threaten British values and the British way of life.
Unfortunately, Cyabra's methodology was as shoddy as the Telegraph's reporting. First, the study they published does not even mention Lowkey. Second, there is essentially zero evidence supplied in their reporting. Finally, there are no spreadsheets where readers can access the names of the supposedly fake accounts so that researchers can judge for themselves.
The study failed to show whether these bot networks truly amplified messages from Lowkey or other pro-Palestine influencers in any meaningful way. In fact, beyond pointing to some extremely generic profiles with barely any followers and leaving boilerplate replies such as "Amazing! This is fantastic! How cool! Congratulations!" they show little to no evidence of any interference-foreign or otherwise.
The clear implication is that 11% of profiles interacting with Lowkey being fake would be proof that the massive upsurge in pro-Palestine sentiment across the world is artificially manufactured from abroad. Yet what Cyabra leaves out of the report is the crucial context that a considerable proportion of social media accounts are fake and always have been.
Estimates of the true number of fake accounts on Twitter run from anywhere between 5% to more than 80%, and Twitter owner Elon Musk suggested that one in five personas on his platform were false. Cyabra itself claims that 11% are fake and that celebrities and other public figures draw more bot accounts than average.

Alabama's post came just days after her stepmom, Kourtney Kardashian, gave birth to her first child with Travis, 47. While the couple's bundle of joy came as welcomed news to the Kardashian clan, the Blink-182 drummer was quickly slammed by fans for playing drums in the delivery room while Kourtney, 44, likely gave birth.
Taking to TikTok just one day before his daughter posted her own controversial video, Travis shared a video of himself practicing on a drum pad to the beat of his unborn son's heart. Though Kourt seemed to love it and reshared the video, fans weren't impressed.
"I would literally be so annoyed I couldn't do it," a fan wrote, while another added that it was "the biggest ick of all time."
Like his daughter's video, however, Travis did receive some praise for bringing his passion for music into the delivery room, with one fan calling it "the coolest thing."
"Didn't expect anything less than Travis bringing drums to the delivery room. Hehe I love it!" another supportive fan chimed in.
Alabama's video might have received backlash, but she's received nothing but encouragement and warmth from her stepmom, who considers Alabama, her stepsister, Atiana De La Hoya, and her brother, Landon Barker, her children just as much as they are Travis and ex Shanna Moakler's.

The High Court in London has upheld the U.S. government's appeal to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, a key step towards his rendition to the United States. The Australian publisher faces up to 175 years in prison once he sets foot on American soil.
Whether he ever makes it to the United States is still in question. His legal team has indicated they will challenge the ruling, which will inevitably draw out court proceedings and prolong his stay inside Belmarsh Prison. Also of note is the 50-year-old's health. This weekend, it was revealed that he had suffered a stroke in October as a result of the stress of the trial.
Two individuals who have been closely monitoring the Assange trial are Pablo Navarette and John McEvoy. Pablo is a British-Chilean filmmaker and the founder of Alborada magazine, an outlet concentrating on Latin American politics. John is an investigative journalist whose work documents the impact of the British national security state on public life. In November, the pair published an article entitled '"A Lot of Mistakes": The Guardian and Julian Assange,' which can be read on MintPress News. Today, they discussed the role that The Guardian, and the mainstream press more generally, have played in persecuting him.
It is now known that UC Global - the private security firm hired to protect the Ecuadorian Embassy, where Assange was confined - was secretly spying on their charge, sending the information they gleaned back to the United States government. This included security cameras and audio bugs. The company even scavenged the embassy's garbage, stealing Assange's children's diapers.
Guardian journalist Stephanie Kirchgaessner was aware of the spying long before it was made public. Yet rather than blowing the whistle, publishing a huge scoop, or even simply notifying Assange privately, she instead chose to write highly dubious articles insinuating that he was an agent of Russian malfeasance. "It tells you what questions journalists were asking at this time. They weren't asking the right ones," McEvoy told Lowkey.
The Guardian was one of WikiLeaks's partner organizations, being fed bombshell after bombshell, revelations that helped build its brand and its audience. Yet, far from standing up for free speech and an open society, it was in the lead in attacking WikiLeaks and its founder. Of particular note is Luke Harding, who, mistakenly or otherwise, published the passcode to a trove of WikiLeaks documents, an act that the U.S. government claims endangered its representatives around the world.
In 2018, Harding also published a viral story that claimed that Assange had secretly met with Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and unnamed "Russians" while in the Ecuadorian Embassy. The insinuation was that Assange (and Russia) was partly responsible for Trump's shocking election in 2016.
There were gaping holes in this accusation, not least that there was no record of Manafort ever visiting the embassy, one of the most surveilled buildings in the most surveilled city in the world. Police, reporters, activists and intelligence agents were outside 24 hours a day. Yet Manafort was reportedly able to enter without anyone noticing. Almost immediately, The Guardian walked back the claims, adding qualifying language. Even more embarrassing, it later transpired that Harding's source was likely a disgraced Ecuadorian agent who had previously burned The Guardian with fake information, forcing them to retract a story.
From being Assange's partner, the newspaper morphed into "the vanguard or the spearhead of a campaign of vilification by the mainstream media," Navarette told Lowkey.
The new MintPress podcast "The Watchdog," hosted by British-Iraqi hip-hop artist Lowkey, closely examines organizations about which it is in the public interest to know - including intelligence, lobby and special-interest groups influencing policies that infringe on free speech and target dissent. For instance, my buddy can shoot any target with stupid accuracy from 400yrds. Not too different from what we normally do, except that the focus isn't on teaching baking techniques but how baking more generally.
_Someone asked why we're holding the discussion in the Baking
Class thread. Here's why__:
1. Bakers have been having LIVE discussions there since Feb''' and it's proven to be a great place to just talk about baking in a Lowkey, comfy environment.
2. Shills and spam who only seek to disrupt the discussion can be kept out. Unlike on QR, BO/BVs are around to delete spam or posts designed to disrupt and temporary ban the '''disrupters (usually just the class is over).
3. There is no reason not talk there. There is nothing at all wrong with /comms/ board despite what has been said recently. It's an board long used for practice baking by anons and baking discussions by bakers. There has never been any problem with that until recently. OSS has a gripe with comm's BO Rusty, that's all. Such gripes are common on the chans but are between individuals.
4. The baking class thread has always had a "can-do" emphasis, so it's a good place to talk The focus in on the dough, the breads, and how bakers and anons can work together to keep this place rolling. Every ad for past classes says "All welcome."

The purpose of this town hall is to have an open and friendly discussion.
What you circled in your cap is refers to the policy of ensuring that shills are not allowed to disrupt the discussion with spam or obvious shillery. An example of spam would be to post "hahahahahaha" as a block over and over again. STuff like like will be deleted and the spammer temporarily banned (just for the duration of class).
We always warn spammers first before banning them or removing offensive posts. But it's a rare problem. After 35 clases,we've only had to "kick out" posters or ban spam about 3 times.

This month, a DC grand jury TWICE refused to indict a woman arrested for interfering then assaulting an FBI agent involved in an ICE operation in Washington.
This is particularly infuriating because these same DC grand juries quickly brought the same charge--the 111 felony--against hundreds of J6ers even for minor scuffles with police.
The magistrate judge assigned to the case--Michael Harvey--signed hundreds of J6 arrest warrants.
Harvey is now Lowkey mocking the DOJ for lacking evidence in the case rather than admitting an indictment on the assault/interference statute depends on the political affiliation of the individual charged and sympathetic DC residents sitting on the grand jury.
