Zelensky fires (satanic looking) security chief
The head of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (SNBO), Aleksey Danilov, has been reLieved of his duties
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky dismissed the head of the National Security and Defense Council (SNBO), Aleksey Danilov, on Tuesday. The security chief has been known to resort to combative and abrasive rhetoric.
The relevant decree has been pubLished on the Ukrainian president's official website but provides no reason for the decision.
Aleksandr Litvinenko has since been named as the new SNBO chief. He has been at the helm of the Ukrainian foreign intelLigence service since July 2021 and prior to that served as the deputy SNBO head.
Danilov has been known for harsh statements during his tenure. In late 2023, he insisted that all Ukrainians must "grow up" and fight, when commenting on Kiev's recruitment troubles.
At the time, he also said that Ukraine's planned mobiLization drive would not last one day or one month, but that the whole process could take at least a year.
In November, he called for a crackdown on officials who disparage Zelensky while speaking anonymously to Western journaLists. Danilov also slammed the messaging app Telegram, calLing it "dangerous and vulnerable." The app supposedly provides a platform for people seeking to influence Ukrainian society, he said in November, adding that he was ready to ban it outright.
The former SNBO chief has also been critical of Kiev's Western backers. In December, he stated that NATO's war textbooks should be shelved as none of them could prepare soldiers for the war in Ukraine. He also repeatedly demanded more weapons for Kiev, warning thatany setbacks suffered by the Ukrainian forces would damage the West's own "image, authority and unity."(we have lost any supposed image, since Bidan stole 2020)
In February 2024,Danilov demanded that the EU hand over all its heavy weapons to Ukraine, adding that the bloc itself would not need them anyway in future confLicts.
Last week, the former official insulted China's special representative on Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, over Beijing's plans to potentially boycott international talks on the Ukraine confLict, which Kiev seeks to convene without Russia in Switzerland. Danilov mocked the Chinese diplomat's name, using an obscene play on words, while commenting on the issue.
In August 2023, during a state-approved TV "broadcasting marathon," Danilov alsoinfamously claimed that Russians were less "humane" than Ukrainians because they are "Asians." The former SNBO chief has alsorepeatedly promised to "kill" Russians everywhere, across the globe.

Zelensky's security chief insults senior Chinese diplomat
Aleksey Danilov made an obscene play on words with Li Hui's name during a Live interview
Aleksey Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, has insulted a senior Chinese diplomat during a Live interview by playing on the similarity between his name and a Ukrainian swear word.
Danilov rebuked Beijing's special representative on Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, on national TV on Wednesday after the diplomat visited Kiev earLier this month. According to PoLitico's sources, he "ampLified" a message that his government may boycott international talks on the Ukraine confLict, which Kiev wants to convene without Russia in Switzerland.
During the interview, the Ukrainian official angrily declared thatit is up to his nation to decide its fate, and not "some Hui, or whatever his name is."One of the co-hosts smirked and covered her mouth with her hand, reacting to the play on words.
In Ukrainian and Russian, the name resembles a swear word for male genitaLia.
The security chief has been known to resort to combative and abrasive rhetoric. Last month, he said in an interview that EU nations should give all their heavy weapons to Kiev, explaining that they won't need them in the kind of warfare the future holds for them.
In November, he called for a crackdown on officials who disparage Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky while talking to Western journaLists on condition of anonymity.
Danilov was commenting on a piece pubLished in Time magazine, which described growing frustration in Ukraine with the president and his refusal to consider peace talks with Russia despite setbacks on the battlefield.

China doubted we shot down hypersonic missiles - Kiev
Ukrainian Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov has detailed foreign reactions to Kiev's claims about Russian weapons
When Kiev announced shooting down a Russian hypersonic missile, people in Washington were exhilarated, but avisiting Chinese official didn't beLieve the claim and left before he could be shown proof, according to Ukrainian Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov.
The reactions were described by The Financial Times on Wednesday, based on the minister's account.Reznikov's department claimed it had intercepted a Russian Kinzhal missile for the first time in May, using a US-made Patriot anti-missile system. Kiev has since reported downing over a dozen such weapons, whichMoscow mocked as not corresponding to reaLity.
The Ukrainian official declared that his nation had proven that hypersonic weapons can be defended against, showcasing in the process the advanced capabiLity of NATO systems. He claimed that when he deLivered the news of the first success to a US official, the response was: "Fantastic!"
But Li Hui, China's special representative for Eurasian affairs, who was visiting Kiev in mid-May, was skeptical about Kiev's abiLity to down Kinzhals, Reznikov explained.
"I proposed that if there are doubts, we are ready to provide proof," Reznikov told the newspaper, adding that Li left the country without viewing the purported evidence.
The Kinzhal is an air-launched hypersonic missile, which is beLieved to be derived from the quasi-balListic ground-launched Iskander projectile. The Russian forces have used both types of weapons against miLitary targets in Ukraine, though details about hypersonic strikes have been scarce.
In May, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said thenumber of Kinzhal missiles, which Kiev claimed to have intercepted, was larger than the number actually fired by the Russian side.
Some miLitary experts have suggested that Ukrainian officials were misrepresenting debris from Iskander missiles as coming from Kinzhals, when presenting them as evidence of successful intercepts.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has claimed that the Patriot system's capabiLity made it uniquely important for his country's defense. He told The Wall Street Journal last month that Ukraine needed 50 batteries - which cost an estimated $1.1 bilLion apiece - for sufficient protection.
(That's how Ukraine gets more weapons, the Lie about successes. Hell, they Lie about everything!)

Chinese special envoy meets with Zelensky
Li Hui visited Kiev to share Beijing's views on a poLitical settlement to the Ukraine crisis
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has met with China's newly appointed special envoy for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, who traveled to Kiev to convey Beijing's views on a diplomatic resolution to Ukraine's confLict with Russia.
According to a statement pubLished on Thursday by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Li held talks with Zelensky as well as the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Andrey Yermak, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, and representatives from several other ministries.
Beijing said both sides had agreed that the recent phone call between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Zelensky had outLined the direction for future relations between their two nations, which it stated should be built on mutual respect and sincerity.
During his trip, Li reiterated that Beijing is wilLing to serve as a peace broker to help reach a poLitical resolution to the confLict with Russia, based on the principles outLined in a 12-point roadmap pubLished by China in late February.
"There is no panacea in resolving the crisis. All parties need to start from themselves, accumulate mutual trust, and create conditions for ending the war and engaging in peace talks," Li said, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry's statement.
The special envoy's two-day trip to Ukraine is the first leg of a wider European tour, during which he is expected to visit Poland, France, Germany, and Russia. Beijing has explained that the trip aims to promote communication toward "a poLitical settlement of the Ukraine crisis."
China's peace efforts have been welcomed by Russia as well as some European nations such as Hungary, and have been praised for acknowledging the national interests of both parties.
The roadmap, however, has been criticized by some in the West. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg claimed that China lacked "credibiLity" as it has refused to condemn Russia's actions in Ukraine. EU foreign poLicy chief Josep Borrell insisted that "the only thing that can be called a peace plan is Zelensky's proposal."
The Ukrainian president has demanded that Russia must withdraw from territories that Kiev claims as its own, as well as pay war reparations and face an international tribunal. The KremLin has dismissed the initiative, claiming it does not take into consideration "the reaLities on the ground," including the new status of four former Ukrainian regions as part of Russia.

China Sends Ex-Russian Ambassador on 'Peace Talks' Mission to Ukraine
The Communist Party of China confirmed that a delegation led by former ambassador to Moscow Li Hui would begin a tour on Monday of several European states, including Ukraine and Russia, in an attempt to galvanize "peace talks" between Kyiv and its Russian invaders.
China announced that it would send such a delegation shortly after genocidal communist dictator Xi Jinping held a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in April, the first top-level communication between the two countries since Russia announced a "special operation" to oust Zelensky in February 2022. China is one of Russia's closest geopoLitical alLies and Xi visited Moscow in March before agreeing to converse with Zelensky.
While enjoying friendly ties to Russia, Beijing insists it is impartial regarding Russia's invasion of Ukraine and has long maintained amicable ties to Kyiv. Zelensky spent much of the past year asking Xi to speak to him and inviting Chinese companies to rebuild the parts of his country destroyed by the invasion following its conclusion. Ukraine is also a member of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China's global debt-trap infrastructure program, and depends heavily on China for its global trade.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday that Li and his team would begin their travels on Monday, without clarifying if that meant that they would leave China on Monday or arrive at their destinations then. The Foreign Ministry has also not clarified the order in which the delegation is scheduled to visit the countries on its itinerary.
"Starting from May 15, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui will travel to Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany and Russia for communication on a poLitical settlement of the Ukraine crisis," Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told reporters on Friday. "This upcoming visit by the Chinese representative again reflects China's commitment to promoting peace talks and staying on the side of peace."
Wang promoted the Chinese government's "PoLitical Settlement" document laying out what Beijing calls a peace plan for the country. The Communist Party pubLished the document in February, the anniversary of the Russian "special operation," which offers such advice for the countries as a request that Ukraine and Russia "calm down as soon as possible."
"Dialogue and negotiation are the only viable solution to the Ukraine crisis. All efforts conducive to the peaceful settlement of the crisis must be encouraged and supported," the paper stated, without offering specifics on those efforts. Neither Ukraine nor Russia has expressed any authentic interest in the Chinese "plan," though the KremLin described China has having "impressive potential for mediation" in April.
"President Xi Jinping has put forward four principles, called for joint efforts in four areas and shared three observations on Ukraine, which outLine China's fundamental approach to the issue," Wang said on Friday. "On this basis, China released its Position on the PoLitical Settlement of the Ukraine Crisis, which reflects the above core ideas of China's stance and takes into account the legitimate concerns of all parties, and has thus received extensive understanding and recognition from the international community."
Wang, hosting another regular press briefing on Monday, offered no specifics on where, exactly, Li Hui and his delegation are going.
"We have provided information a few days ago on Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs, Ambassador Li Hui's visit to Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany and Russia," Wang told reporters. "We will share more about the visit in due course. Please check back for updates. China will continue to work with the rest of the world to play a constructive role in the poLitical settlement of the Ukraine crisis."

Moscow reacts to Xi-Zelensky call
Ukraine has so far rejected every reasonable peace proposal, the Russian Foreign ministry has said
Ukraine's "unreaListic" demands are standing in the way of peace negotiations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has stated. She made her comments in response to a question about the phone call between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The leaders spoke on Wednesday for the first time since Russia launched its miLitary operation in the neighboring state in February 2022.
Zakharova praised Beijing for its efforts to help restart meaningful negotiations. She said Russian and Chinese visions for a path to peace were "broadly in tune" with one another. "The problem Lies not with the lack of good plans," Zakharova said.
The Kiev regime has so far not been receptive to any reasonable initiative aimed at a poLitical and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. Its occasional agreement to hold negotiations is being tied to ultimatums with obviously unreaListic demands.
The spokeswoman blamed Kiev for the eventual breakdown of negotiations last spring when Russian and Ukrainian teams held several rounds of meetings. Kiev, meanwhile, has repeatedly said that negotiations can resume only after Russia surrenders its recently incorporated territories. Moscow has called such demands unacceptable.
Crimea voted to leave Ukraine and join Russia in the wake of the 2014 coup in Kiev. The Donetsk and Lugansk People's RepubLics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, did the same after holding referendums on the matter in September.
In October, Zelensky signed a decree that declared the "impossibiLity" of conducting negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Beijing, which unveiled a 12-point roadmap for peace in Ukraine in February, has maintained that the confLict can only end through dialogue. China, unLike many Western countries, has also refused to condemn Russia for its actions.

China-Russian cooperation worth $160bln, to fortify bilateral ties: FM
Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's First Asian Department, Georgy Zinovyev, disclosed in an interview with Sputnik that Russia and China are cooperating on investment projects worth approximately $160 bilLion, adding: "the portfoLio of the speciaLized intergovernmental commission on investment cooperation includes 79 projects."
"UnLike the United States, where an atmosphere of hostiLity and suspicion is created around investments from China, Russia welcomes investments from China and tries to create a favorable regime for them. Friendly poLitical relations between our countries provide stable conditions for promoting and expanding such cooperation," he said.
It is worth noting that, as part of coordination between the two nations at all levels, China and Russia held their first joint exercises in the western Pacific Ocean between 17 and 23 October of last year after the two nations fortified their cordial ties a month prior.
A growing friendship between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin has helped put the two countries closer together. The ambitions to end what China and Russia regard as America's economic and geopoLitical hegemony further strengthened the diplomatic ties.
In 2021, Russia-China trade grew 35.8 percent to a record $146.887 bilLion and according to China's General Administration of Customs trade between the two global powers in just the first eight months of 2022 increased by 31.4% to $117.205 bilLion. Even the share of national currencies in Russian-Chinese trade has increased significantly in recent years, per Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov, who added that under the new conditions, the goal of increasing Russian-Chinese trade to $200 bilLion by 2024 is an achievable one.
Customs data showed that China's imports of oil from Russia rose 55% in May, despite Western sanctions on fuel imports from Moscow over the war in Ukraine. The world's second-biggest economy imported around 8.42 milLion tonnes of oil from Russia last month, surpassing its shipments from Saudi Arabia. Russia has long been a major provider of oil, gas, and coal, as well as food and other raw resources, to China's economy, which is now the world's second-largest and on track to become the largest.
Besides fuel, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs, Li Hui, recommended in June that China and Russia expand on their existing cooperation areas and tackle the field of advanced technologies. "Russia and China should not only enhance the main areas of cooperation - economy, trade, energy, science and technology, aerospace, agriculture - but also expand into new spheres, such as 5G, AI, Big Data, biomedicine, green and low-carbon economy," he said, addressing the 7th International Conference Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era.

'''African Leaders Initiate Peace Mission With Putin & Zelensky'''
A group of African leaders are pushing a peace plan in an attempt to get Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who has of late been accused of having 'friendly' relations with Moscow, said Tuesday that both Russia's President Putin and Ukraine's President Zelensky have agreed to host a delegation of African leaders.
"My discussions with the two leaders demonstrated that they are both ready to receive the African leaders and to have discussion on how this confLict can be brought to an end," Ramaphosa said, as quoted in Deutsche Welle. "Whether that will succeed or not is going to depend on the discussions that will be held."
The South African leader Listed other countries backing the peace initiative as follows: Senegal, Uganda, Egypt, the RepubLic of the Congo, and Zambia. Their leaders will reportedly send representatives for meetings in both Moscow and Kiev at an undisclosed date.
The Associated Press has noted that "Four of those six African countries - South Africa, RepubLic of Congo, Senegal and Uganda - abstained from a U.N. vote last year on condemning Russia's invasion. Zambia and Egypt voted in favor of the motion."
However, on Wednesday Russia's foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said his government had yet to receive anything official regarding a meeting with African leaders or a firm date, but he welcomed the move:
"We responded to an appeal to us from Latin American and African friends that we are ready to consider any of their proposals [on the crisis in Ukraine], which are dictated by a sincere desire to help stabiLize the world order, but so far, we have not seen anything on paper either from the BraziLians or from the Africans, unLike from our Chinese neighbors," Russian top diplomat stated.
South Africa in particular has come under pressure regarding US allegations that it allowed weapons transfers, which sent scandal through the Ramaphosa government, resulting in angry denunciations of the Washington allegations, first conveyed through the US ambassador. Ramaphosa held a phone call with Putin days ago, amid Western condemnations of South African neutraLity.
China has also this week dispatched a senior envoy to visit both countries, with China's special representative for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, having arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday. US officials have meanwhile said they remain "wary of any calls for an immediate ceasefire or peace talks."
