AP Shills For Big Pharma Antidepressants With 'Bewildering' Hit Piece

Check this out… The Trump FDA's top drug regulator, Dr. Tracy Beth Hoeg, is working to hire a researcher and friend who strongly believes the agency should add new warnings about antidepressants and pregnancy risks.

So what does the Associated Press do? They pen a hit piece, smearing Hoeg, her associate, and suggesting that peer reviewed studies over the risks are 'unproven.'

This is how the medical arm of the blob works, and Paul Thacker of the DisInformation Chronicle is calling them out…

Associated Press Cannot Explain Bewildering Reporting on FDA's Tracy Hoeg and Antidepressant Risks

Cruising through X last week a weird story caught my eye: it reported that The Food and Drug Administration's top drug regulator, Dr. Tracy Beth Hoeg, was trying to hire a "friend" who wants the FDA to add warnings to antidepressants about "unproven pregnancy risks." The story makes several claims that are bewildering and appear to be fabricated. I sent several questions to AP's global health editor Jonathan Fahey, but he did not respond to repeated requests to explain the article's puzzling errors.

AP reporter Matthew Perrone later blocked me on X. I've pasted my email to Fahey at the bottom of this article.

The person AP's Matthew Perrone identifies as a "friend" of FDA's Hoeg is Dr. Adam Urato, chief of maternal-fetal medicine at Metro West Medical Center in Massachusetts.

One passage in the AP story stood out to me:

Within the agency, Hoeg's close relationship with Urato is viewed as a clear conflict of interest that, under normal FDA standards, would result in her recusing herself from any work on the petition. But Hoeg is actively working to speed up the agency's review of her friend's proposal, according to the people familiar with the situation.

I have never seen the term "friend" defined as a "conflict of interest" by any federal agency. Nor have I run across "friend" defined as a "conflict of interest" in the peer-reviewed scientific literature. It's a conflict of interest that doesn't seem to exist.

And I happen to know quite a bit about conflicts of interest in science, because I'm an expert on the matter.

WhenICE wants to detain an illegal immigrantin the Fairfax County jail,they send detainers and administrative warrants to the Sheriff, which is what happened in the case of Abdul Jalloh.

Legal experts 7News spoke toagreed that ICE cannot go to a local Fairfax County judge to get a judicial warrant. However, ICE can go to a federal judge for a warrant, Ben Messer with the American Immigration Lawyers Association said.

"ICE can go to a federal judge, a federal district judge there in Virginia, and say this person is charged with this crime in the Commonwealth, and they probably can get access to some of the records that have been used to charge the guy and say,this is why, you know, we think he's dangerous," Messer said.

But formerfederal prosecutor Zack Smith said ICE cannot get a federal warrant for a state crime, which is what Jalloh is charged with.

"Essentially, what thegovernor and others who support her position are doing is they're making it more difficult for ICE to do their jobs," said Smith. "It could lead to some of these violent repeat offenders being released back onto the street before federal authorities can pick them up. And essentially, what this is designed to do is to throw additional roadblocks in the way of federal immigration authorities being able to effectively and safely do their jobs."

"The governor says that ICE should get a judicial warrant if they want this guy. To some people, a judicial warrant might sound like a reasonable request, is it?" 7News Reporter Nick Minock asked Jonathan Fahey.

"That's what I think her tactic is to say something that sounds reasonable, but it's inherently not reasonable, and certainly not necessary," said Fahey.

Fahey is a former federal prosecutor and a former Fairfax County prosecutor. He's also a former Acting Director of ICE.

"It seems like if you went to a Fairfax judge [requesting a judicial warrant for an immigration arrest], they would say, this is a federal matter," said Fahey. "If you went to a federal judge, and somehow they were able to do this, there would be a massive backlog in cases. In fact, they wouldn't be able to do anything else other than issue warrants and not do any of their other judicial responsibilities."

ICE says no judge in the country has the authority to issue a warrant for a civil immigration violation.

On Tuesday night's episode of The Ingraham Angle, Laura revealed that she had exclusively obtained a criminal referral for none other than Democrat Senator Adam Schiff - and the allegations are explosive. The criminal referral, reportedly submitted to the U.S. Department of Justice by Housing Director Bill Pulte, accuses Schiff of falsifying bank documents and property records over a period of 16 years in order to score more favorable mortgage terms.

The fraudulent activity allegedly spanned from 2003 to 2019, and centers on a lavish Potomac, Maryland home - while Schiff simultaneously maintained a questionable condo in Burbank, California."The referral, submitted to the DOJ by Housing Director Bill Pulte, alleges that Schiff has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms-impacting payments from 2003 to 2019 for a Potomac, Maryland-based property. Schiff owns a home in California and another in Maryland," said Ingraham.

"Well, perhaps-perhaps-when the Democrats decided to have Mr. High and Mighty Adam Schiff head an impeachment witch hunt against Trump, they should have done their due diligence-not just on their absurd allegations, but on their own chairman."

Laura Ingraham: Jonathan, look, the mortgage fraud issue might seem technical, or like it's just a small, minor thing-but what can you tell us?
Jonathan Fahey (00:01:12.16) Well, when Trump does it, they make it seem like the biggest deal ever-like they alleged in the New York case. That's a fun irony here. But basically, it's lying on a mortgage application to get more favorable loan terms. When you say it's your primary residence, you get a more favorable loan term than if it's a rental residence or something else.

What's really interesting about this-Adam-this was not just coming from President Trump. In 2023, CNN reported on this issue.He's, on one hand, saying he's a resident of California to run for office-to run for the House, and then for the Senate-and also taking a deduction in California based on claiming residency in California.

For the IRS, also, you can't claim residency in both California and Maryland. He's got a lot of issues, because it seems like, however this breaks down, it looks like he's saying one thing here, one thing there. He can't be a resident in both places. So it's either: was he lying in California, or lying in Maryland to get more favorable loan terms?

But the irony is so rich here-with all of the Adam Schiff stuff: Russiagate, the first impeachment, and now this. It's pretty funny. The Gateway Pundit previously reported that President Trump announced on Tuesday that loathsome Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) has been caught allegedly committing mortgage fraud by Fannie Mae's Financial Crimes Division. "I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"And now I learn that Fannie Mae's Financial Crimes Division have concluded that Adam Schiff has engaged in a sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud."

"Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA," Trump added." I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook. The FRAUD began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated as a second home on October 13, 2020."

The head of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Jonathan Fahey, resigned Wednesday, after less than two weeks on the job, the Washington Examiner has learned.

Fahey, a former criminal prosecutor, resigned abruptly in what one person familiar with the situation said was due his being pressured to sign an agreement with ICE's union. Two other individuals confirmed the news, first reported by BuzzFeed News. He was the seventh person to lead ICE under the Trump administration.

"He said the agreement is going to destroy the agency, I'm not signing it," the source told the Washington Examiner.

Fahey, 48, was tapped Dec. 31 to take over for then-Senior Official Performing the Duties of ICE Director Tony Pham, who was promoted to the role in September.

Fahey lives in northern Virginia and ran as an independent in 2019 for commonwealth's attorney in Fairfax County, but he lost to Democrat Steve Descano. As a candidate, he said his top priorities included combating gang violence, responding to the opioid crisis, and working closely with law enforcement.

Prior to his run for office, Fahey spent 17 years as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, where he focused on drug smugglers, human traffickers, and gang cases, according to an ICE biography.

When President Trump took office in January 2017, he terminated Daniel Ragsdale from his position atop ICE, and Tom Homan was nominated director. After a year and a half, Homan retired after going unconfirmed. Ron Vitiello, the second-in-command at fellow DHS agency Customs and Border Protection, was moved to ICE and nominated in June 2018 to run ICE. His nomination was pulled in April 2019, and ICE official Matthew Albence temporarily took over. Former Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan, whom Trump fired in 2017, was hired at ICE in May 2019 but only stayed six weeks until he was moved to head CBP, the agency that oversees Border Patrol.

In July 2019, Albence was promoted again to ICE director. The Washington Examiner first reported in August that he planned to step down in September and that Pham would be promoted in his place. Pham revealed in early December that he would leave at the end of the year.

Historically, officials overseeing an agency or department at the time a new presidential administration takes office are not asked to stay on in that role.

ICE did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Marco Rubio: Their behavior is going to have to change one way or another, but it allows us to now target what they're operating
and to use other elements of American power and intelligence agencies,
the Department of Defense, whatever, to target these groups if we have an opportunity to do it.
We have to start treating them as armed terrorist organizations,
not simply drug dealing organizations.

Trace Gallagher: I mean, I think it's a proper assessment.
I don't know what you think about this Jonathan, but it's interesting because these cartels are no longer just providing these illegal products by the thousands of pounds.
They're killing thousands of Americans.

Jonathan Fahey: You're exactly right.
And if you think about it just during the Biden administration,
400,000 people died of overdose deaths, just in that four-year term.
And as we know, there was just a complete dereliction of duty on the border as well as taking it to their cartels.
And just for some context, that's 100,000 more than during the first Trump administration.
So a massive increase, we need to take it to them because, yeah, people are dying.
And President Trump isn't going to just stand by and just say, oh, this is now the status quo.
100,000 Americans a year are going to die of overdose.
This is unacceptable. He's going to take it to them.
And there's another benefit to this by even talking about this.
The messaging is so strong on this.
This will inspire cooperation from all these countries where we may be acting in.
So all of these will be a good thing.
And we'll track this at the end of the year where these overdose deaths go.

Trace Gallagher: And I'm interested in, you know, when you get pushed back on this because the upside is enormous on this.
And the downside is also enormous.
I mean, if you don't do this and you continue to let tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of Americans die,
I mean, it is, this is something that there is a fix to at least.
There's somewhat of a remedy to this if we go forward.

Jonathan Fahey: Yeah, exactly. And it's almost like we've had four years where we weren't even trying to do something during the Biden administration.
Yeah, it's not acceptable because a hundred thousand people a year are dying.
Those are those people, their families, their communities.
Everyone in this country is affected by this.
So it's trying to take it to these cartels.
And their good days are over.
They had their heyday under the Biden administration.
But the game is up and the Trump administration is going after them.
And I think this is very effective, not only substantively, but I think the messaging is quite clear on this.

Jim Hanson: Jesse, I don't think anybody would be more thrilled than me to watch some helmet cam footage of a bunch of JSOC pipe hitters
repelling out of helicopters and stacking cartel members like cordwood.
Now, that's the ultimate.
I don't know that we'll probably open with that.
You know, there's likely to be a lot of increased surveillance.
There may be some raids to pick up some people to arrest and put on trial.
There'll be some interdiction off the coasts.
The Navy can cover a lot more territory than the Coast Guard can.
And together, they can cover both the ex-fill from Central and South America and the infill to us.
So there's a lot of things to start with, but this is a tremendous step they're taking.

So they could see some guys off the field and bring them here and put them on trial.
Could they also just "drone strike" these cartel bad guys right in their backyard?

You know, that's a, that's a lawyer question, but I'm going to give you the common sense answer.
If their cartels are killing people in the United States and the MS-13 and Tren de agua with gangs are, why can't we kill their leaders just the same way President Trump pointed out we took care of Soleimani?

Watters: That would be an imminent threat, right?
I mean, if these guys are cooking up all this fentanyl and sending it into the cities and people are acting like zombies and keeling over,
an imminent threat to the life and well-being of the American citizenry.

Jim Hanson: Absolutely.
And I think the rationale we use for other terrorists we've killed, through multiple administrations, Barack Obama still I think holds the record for the number of people killed overseas by drone strikes, including one US citizen.
So I think President Trump deciding that these guys, who are definitely killing Americans with drugs, torturing and ruining people with human trafficking and child trafficking, those are things that I think all of America can look at and say we don't need to allow that, and anything we do to them is probably justified at this point.

Watters: Now, the Mexican President, she's played nice so far on trade, but it's a big no bueno, she says, if we start launching direct action into her territory, it's not even really her territory.
I guess technically it is, but the cartels control almost that entire country.
What does that do to Mexico?

Jim Hanson: Yeah, I mean, that is not her decision.
You know, she's the one who runs a country that allows that to happen.
So if she wants to go ahead and try and tell President Trump we can't do that, we're going to do what we need to and she's going to go ahead and face the consequences.
That's something they've allowed for far too long.
