USSF Space Systems Command Announces Formation of Defensive Cyber Squadrons

Summary: Two new Defensive Cyber Operations Squadrons are actively monitoring SSC's Launch Ranges during Launch Operations to defend in real time from any adversaries attempting a cyber-attack during launch.
The squadrons are located at Space Launch Delta (SLD) 30 at Vandenberg Space Force Base and SLD 45 at Patrick Space Force Base.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - U.S. Space Force's SSC Space Launch Delta (SLD) 30 at Vandenberg Space Force Base and SLD 45 at Patrick Space Force Base have stood up two new Defensive Cyber Operations Squadrons to actively monitor SSC's Launch Ranges during Launch Operations.
The squadrons were established to defend the ranges in real time from any adversaries attempting a cyber-attack during launch, among other defensive tasks.
The newest squadron, 630 CYS, was activated March 10, 2026 at Vandenberg. The official activation of the 630 Cyberspace Squadron (CYS) aligns the unit under SLD 30.
"Access to space is critical for our Nation's national security, national defense and our economy," said Maj. Torius Davis, commander of 630 CYS.
"Our adversaries know this, and are constantly looking for ways to deny, disrupt or destroy our ability to launch.
Our new Defensive Cyber Operations Squadrons are just one of the ways the U.S. Space Force is staying ahead of the threat."
The first squadron, 645 CYS was reassigned from Delta 6 to SLD 45 at Patrick Space Force Base effective September 22, 2025. Lt. Col. John Quinn is the squadron commander.
"Years ago, launch sites were mainly concerned with physical security: keeping unauthorized personnel out of sensitive areas and to prevent sabotage or espionage of critical equipment," Quinn said.
"But as space operations have become more digitized, we've had to increase our security protection against a host of potential cyber-attacks.
Much like the anti-jamming capabilities we build into our modern satellites, our new Cyberspace Squadrons will work to secure our launch systems from a myriad of potential threats, from hijacking satellites or ground systems to using malware to gain unauthorized access to our systems."
Space Systems Command is the U.S. Space Force field command responsible for acquiring, developing, and delivering resilient capabilities to outpace emerging threats and protect our Nation's strategic advantage in, from, and to space.
SSC manages a $15.6 billion annual space acquisition budget for the Department of War (DoW) working with joint forces, industry partners, government agencies, academia, and allied nations.

Plaskett and other Virgin Islands officials "actively facilitated" Epstein's crimes, JPMorgan said in a new motion, which included Plaskett's deposition, filed this week.
Discovery materials showed Cecile de Jongh, the territory's first lady at the time, frequently corresponding in 2011 with Epstein over the draft language of a proposed bill that would tighten sex offender monitoring laws. Epstein worried that the law, if passed, would restrict his movements and enable the media to access files about him.
After the bill was passed in 2012, de Jongh apologized for "how things panned out" and said, "We will figure something out by coming up with a game plan to get around these obstacles." De Jongh crafted a plan to let Epstein easily travel to and from the Virgin Islands, JPMorgan alleged, citing the materials.
Many of the discovery materials were entered under seal, meaning they are not available to the public, and portions of the motion were redacted.
Other emails showed de Jongh advising Epstein on how to go about donating to Virgin Islands political candidates, at one point floating monthly retainers for at least one official, and sending an email that was exchanged between her husband, Gov. John de Jongh Jr., and the Virgin Islands lieutenant governor regarding banking rules and regulations.
Epstein's biggest return for donating to politicians and groups came in the form of tax breaks, which he received for decades starting in 1999, according to the new filing. The amount received was redacted; local media have reported that the total was more than $100 million after 2007 alone.
When a reporter reached out to ask about the tax breaks, Cecile de Jongh suggested to Epstein that they respond with the statement that she worked for Epstein as an office manager and "had nothing to do" with the breaks.
Plaskett was a lawyer for the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority, which gave the tax breaks, starting in 2007. She moved to a firm headed by Erika Kellerhals, who did work for Epstein, in 2013. Plaskett said she could not recall when she first met Epstein, but that it was at his office in St. Thomas. She also said that she wasn't sure whether she carried out any work related to Epstein while at Kellerhals firm.
Allegedly Paid for Tuition
De Jongh, who was employed by one of Epstein's companies throughout her husband's two terms as governor, received ample benefits, according to the new filing, including $200,000 in 2007 alone.
Epstein also paid for the tuition of the de Jongh children and offered to provide funds for the governor's defense after he was charged with embezzlement, according to one email.
"I will play any role in this you guys like. I can lend John the money so he immediatly [sic] has it," Epstein wrote to Cecile de Jongh, according to the filing. "I woulld [sic] gladly be on thephone (anonymouse) [sic] with John[,] Quinn and the prosecutor offering suggestions."
De Jongh's work included helping a female associate of Epstein's get a dental license, after which the woman set up a practice in an office shared with Epstein's companies and arranged for a local immigration lawyer to assist at least one other woman. The ages of the women were not listed.
Another official involved with Epstein was the current governor of the Virgin Islands, Albert Bryan, according to the discovery materials. Bryan facilitated donations by Epstein to schools and little leagues in the territory, JPMorgan said.
Bryan's office declined to comment. Inquiries to Cecile and John de Jongh were not returned.

Returning now to another patron of the arts, John Quinn, we encounter the same contradiction; for if Pound was handled, i.e. funded, by Quinn, then secret service cash was being used to fund Mullins's disclosure of the Federal Reserve system. However, since Wikipedia has no love for Eustace Mullins, and since he probably cannot be trusted to speak of Paul Warburg even when quoting Paul Warburg's own words on the need for secrecy, from his autobiography, I shall look elsewhere for information on the Warburg-Fed issue, no further in fact than the almost official family biography by Ron Chernow, a hefty tome that I myself have studied and analyzed. But for the same reason, I shan't be quoting myself either, preferring to quote a book review for The Institute for Historical Review by John Weir who begins by saying, "So sympathetic is Chernow's portrayal that it can rightly be regarded as an authorized version of events".

What Chernow does not adequately explain is why such secrecy was necessary if a central bank was really such a great idea. We are told, in effect, that Warburg and others hatched a cabal to avoid being accused of hatching a cabal.
Because it was the product of a furtive conclave, and secrecy still surrounds many central bank decision-making activities, it is hardly surprising that there are so many dark suspicions and "banking conspiracy" theories involving the Federal Reserve Bank.[my emphasis]
I would simply conclude by suggesting that this fairly mainstream review is more suspicious of what is going on here than the man intent on exposing as many frauds as possible. Just as the Wikipedia article immediately steers the reader away from Mullins by calling him 'antisemitic' and a 'Holocaust denier', Miles Mathis steers the reader away from even getting as far as Mullins by denouncing Pound who mentored him. For all I know, in some circumstances, Mullins maybe was 'antisemitic' and a 'Holocaust denier'; but that hardly debunks everything he ever wrote or said. Likewise, when Miles Mathis tells us that Pound was at one time an intelligence asset and a lousy poet, that does not invalidate my statement that at another time Pound was a whistle-blower and a very decent poet. Since I for one can live with more than one side to Pound's career, in terms of character development as opposed to the cardboard cutout model, I might also speculate how his poetry improved dramatically just as soon as he found his soul and started being his own man…

The Diocese of Winona-Rochester in Minnesota agreed to a $21.5 million settlement with 145 individuals who said clergy within the church engaged in rampant sexual abuse.
Bishop John Quinn of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester said he hoped the financial compensation would help the survivors recover from the trauma they allegedly endured.
"It is my desire and hope that the compensation paid in this settlement will help the survivors heal from the pain they have felt over these many years," he said.
After sexual abuse allegations emerged from schools, churches, and other institutions, all of which were under the church's control, coupled with the state passing a 2013 law extending the allowable time frame for reporting sexual misconduct, the diocese filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Winona-Rochester, one of five Catholic strongholds in Minnesota to declare bankruptcy due to victims seeking legal repercussions, will use the settlement to submit financial reorganization plans to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, which will need to be approved.
The diocese signaled that the church will not forget the abuse reportedly inflicted by clergymen as it reorganizes in the aftermath of its bankruptcy.

In a court filing Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences pushed back against Roman Polanski's assertion that he didn't receive "fair hearing" to appeal his expulsion from the organization.
Responding to the lawsuit Polanski filed in April contesting his expulsion, the Academy said that the director was invited to submit any information relevant to the consideration that he should be reinstated as a member.
AMPAS attorney John Quinn wrote that Polanski ""presented a ten page letter from his lawyer advocating his position, over four hundred pages of supporting documents, a copy of a documentary titled Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired, an email from his counsel, and a recorded video statement by Petitioner addressing the Board."
Representatives for Polanski did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap. But in a statement provided to Deadline, Polanski's attorney called the Academy's filing "a stupid PR stunt by them to look politically correct."

Bishop John Quinn made the announcement in a statement this morning following accusations of sexual abuse by clergy members. "As part of this healing, it is incumbent upon us to create a path forward that provides just compensation for the victims of abuse," he said, "This must include public acknowledgement of their pain, an apology, and financial compensation."
The Diocese is currently facing 121 claims of clergy sex abuse. Fourteen priests are accused of child abuse over several decades, 11 of them serving in Rochester parishes.
All of the accused priests have either died or been suspended from the ministry. They served in 11 parishes across southern Minnesota.
