Jason Arday has resigned from his post at the University of Cambridge, but as the story rumbles on and new revelations about him emerge by the hour, The Spectator thought it would be useful to create a comprehensive reference guide of all the outlandish claims made by our modern-day Walter Mitty.

Athletic prowess

Arday claimed that he once ran 600 miles between Edinburgh and London in six days for charity, an accomplishment which would put him in the upper tier of world ultra marathon runners. He also claimed that he ran run 30 marathons in 35 days. On the 21st marathon he suffered from an epileptic fit and fractured his leg after falling down. This did not deter him and he went on to finish the remaining nine marathons." "To this day, I don't really know how I did it," he recalled.

Arday claimed in a 2024 speaking engagement that he raised over ?5 million for charity from his marathons and that he had raised over ?5.5 million in his life. This is an extraordinary sum - Arday has said elsewhere that the money went "most notably" to Shooting Star Children's Hospices and Shelter. One JustGiving page shows Arday raising only ?380 for one of his 300 miles in three days challenges.

Full to the brim

Arday claimed that he went to both South America and West Africa to install water points. WaterAid said that they never send their volunteers abroad, "out of respect for the people we work with, we don't encourage or facilitate self-funded visits either."

First they came for the professors of sociology

Arday has made several claims about physical threats. He claimed that masked men threatened him twice if he failed to resign, the second time at knifepoint. The CCTV in his building did not catch these intruders. He told the Guardian that a severed pig's head was sent to his family home, and that the police had chased this up, finding that a butchers in South Londonhad sold a whole pig the morning that the incident occurred. The police told the Guardian "categorically" that no such investigation had taken place, and the butcher which Arday said the pig had come from also said that they had no recollection of selling the pig.

Arday claimed in an interview at the University of Bath that he played academy-level football, and that he went on to play semi professionally. This claim has not been repeated in his to-be-published autobiography. He has not explained which club he was attached to.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A swarm of earthquakes occurring over the past few weeks has intensified at a remote Alaska volcano dormant for over a century, a possible indication of an impending eruption.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory raised the alert level to advisory status for Tanaga Volcano late Tuesday after the quakes became very vigorous.

"We started seeing a whole lot of earthquakes occurring, one after the other, several per minute," said John Power, a research geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey stationed in Anchorage at the Alaska Volcano Observatory.

There have been hundreds of small earthquakes, none larger than magnitude 2.75, but they are concentrated beneath the summit of the volcano, he said.

"That indicates that we're seeing significant unrest at the volcano," Power said.

"Whether or not this will lead to an eruption is something we can't say at this point in time," he said. "But we are concerned about it enough that we have gone and elevated the warning level."

While the increase causes concern, he said many times earthquake activity will drop off with no eruption.

"It's anybody's guess as to where this particular round of earthquake activity may end up," he said.

The volcano is on an uninhabited island in the western Aleutians, about 1,250 miles (2,012 kilometers) southwest of Anchorage. There are no communities or structures there, but Adak, a city of about 170 residents on another island, is about 65 miles (105 kilometers) away and could see ashfall.

If the volcano were to erupt, the biggest threat would be to aircraft. The Aleutians are below the routes that jets fly between North America and Asia. Volcanic ash is angular and sharp and can cause an airplane engine to shut down. Previous eruptions had both ash clouds and viscous lava that moves very slowly away from the mountain, much like what happened at Mount St. Helens in Washington state in 1980.

"It's very different than what you would see, for example, in Hawaii, Kilauea or Mauna Loa, where you see these beautiful red rivers of lava flowing down the side of the volcano," Power said.

Tanaga is actually part of a three-volcano complex on the island. It's the tallest of the three at 5,925 feet (1,806 meters). It sits in the middle, with Sajaka, a 4,443-foot volcano to its west. Sajaka had an older cone that collapsed into the North Pacific Ocean with a new cone that has emerged.

To the east of Tanaga is Takawangha, a 4,754 -foot (1,449-meter) volcano that is mostly ice-covered except for four craters, the Alaska Volcano Observatory says.

The last known eruption for Tanaga was in 1914. It erupted twice in the late 1700s and again in 1829.

The observatory in a release said there are no known eruptions of Takawangha or Sajaka. However, field work has indicated that eruptions may have occurred from those volcanos and were attributed to Tanaga.

ok, let me elaborate. It actualy goes back a long way, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Andrea_Podest%C3%A0 which is John just in a diferent language - it basically translates into John Power - - and here is some of his art work

as for our John Podesta, there was a speech he gave where he said his grandfather was the best ship unloader of all time (get it?) - I wish I still had my research but it probably isn't too hard to find.

Also going back to the fireman John Podesta of the Titanic - it's notable that if you dig deeper into him he gets remarried to a woman named "Diaper" - which is symbolic of pedophilia - so well, there's a lot more to this but no the 14th is almost certainly a reference to his lineage. I dug super deep into him early in Q but then people stopped caring about that set of digs.
