He and Helen were active in 1st Presbyterian Church in Bentonville; Sam served as an Elder and a Sunday School teacher, teaching high school age students. The family made substantial contributions to the congregation.
Presbyterians trace their history to the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. The Presbyterian heritage, and much of its theology, began with the French theologian and lawyer John Calvin (1509-1564),
John Knox, a former Roman Catholic priest from Scotland who studied with Calvin in Geneva, took Calvin's teachings back to Scotland and led the Scottish Reformation of 1560. Because of this reform movement, the Church of Scotland embraced Reformed theology and presbyterian polity.[13] The Ulster Scots brought their Presbyterian faith with them to Ireland, where they laid the foundation of what would become the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
Calvinism is among the worst psychobabble.

Did George W. Bush Engineer the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks? An Interview with David Ray GriffinFebruary 06, 2007
By John W. Whitehead
When I came to the conclusion that the Bush-Cheney administration had orchestrated 9/11 in orderto promote this empire under the pretext of the so-called war on terror, I decided that I needed to say so by means of summarizing the evidence for this conclusion.-David Ray Griffin
Dr. Griffin has been a leading proponent of the concept that the United States government orchestrated the events of 9/11. He took time out of his busy schedule to discuss his book The Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11 (Westminster John Knox Press, 2006).
John Whitehead: You write in your book: "Still another reason for me, as a Christian theologian, to speak out is that Christianity began as an anti-imperial movement; there can be no greater distortion of the original Christian message than the use of Christianity to support imperialism." Could you elaborate on that? Is Christianity being used to support imperialism?
David Ray Griffin: There is a growing consensus that the gospel Jesus was preaching was an anti-imperial gospel. There is no doubt that Jesus was crucified and that crucifixion was a Roman form of execution. Nobody else could have done that. This was a form of execution used especially for what Rome considered political criminals; that is, people who had opposed the Empire. If you study the authentic sayings of Jesus, they show time and time again a critique of the Roman Empire and of the support given to the Roman Empire by the Temple establishment of the time. There is no doubt about the Temple episode. Whatever happened there was a precipitating event leading up to the crucifixion.
JW: What do you mean by the Temple episode?
DRG: It is what we call turning the tables over and chasing the money changers out of the Temple. Many had been crucified for denying that Jews should pay the tribute to Rome, and clearly that was a very controversial issue. When Jesus said "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's," that was a clever way of avoiding the trap and yet still saying not to pay the tribute because nothing is Caesar's. Everything is God's.
JW: So are you saying that Jesus was a tax protester?
DRG: He certainly was in terms of the terrible tax that was imposed on the Jews, and particularly the poor. They were being driven systematically into bankruptcy. They were losing their farms and then having to work as slaves on great estates....
JW: A tribute tax was imposed by the Roman Empire?
DRG: It was a double tax, and it was quite onerous. You have to understand what the message of Jesus was really about. Take, for instance, the Lord's Prayer where Jesus says, "Give us this day our daily bread." This was an issue because many of the people did not have enough to eat. Thus, Jesus thought that was important enough to put in this very short prayer. So unless you understand the economic issues surrounding the gospel Jesus preached, in that it was simultaneously a religious, political and economic gospel, you really don't understand what he was all about.
JW: But now we have the American Empire.
DRG: Yes, and the American Empire in many ways duplicates the Roman Empire. Many have argued that the last book of the New Testament, the Book of Revelation, shouldn't have been in the Bible because of its rather violent imagery. But it signals as clearly as possible what many of the early Christians thought about the Roman Empire. In other words, it was the incarnation of demonic power. The Roman Empire is known as the Beast, and the Beast was the symbol for Satan. However literally they thought of a satanic figure, there is no doubt they thought that the Roman Empire was demonic. Today, more and more people are saying that America is the new Rome. Some are saying this critically and others with a great sense of pride that we are as powerful, relative to our world, as Rome was relative to its world. In fact, many believe that we are more powerful than Rome because Rome, of course, dominated only a small portion of the planet. However, today's right-wing ideologues-the neo-cons and fellow travelers-believe America is going to be the first all-inclusive empire in history. It will be the first empire without borders...
(He has also put out six books about 9/11 and American imperialism: The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions about the Bush Administration and 9/11 (2004))..,==

Let's do it. National divorce.
The Future of the Colonies
The windows were closed to ensure no information regarding the debate about the future of the colonies would be carried to the people. The men gathered in the stuffy Philadelphia room are now often viewed as demigods for their courage and tenacity as patriots, but in May 1775, they were simply colonists toying with the idea of treason.
Standing alongside John Adams, Richard Henry Lee, Roger Sherman, Dr. John Knox Witherspoon, and Dr. Lyman Hall were others who today occupy the annals of United States history.
John Adams described the quietly efficient Caesar Rodney as "the oddest-looking man in the world; he is tall, thin and slender as a reed, pale; his face is not bigger than a large apple, yet there is a sense of fire, spirit, wit and humor in this countenance." Adams, in writing about his friend, kindly did not mention the large, probably cancerous facial growth that plagued Rodney most of his later years, often partially obscured by a large handkerchief to reduce the stares. Most have never heard of Rodney, but it was his vote that added Delaware to the "Yea" column.
As the debate raged in 1776 regarding independence, Delaware's two other delegates, George Read and Thomas McKean, were split on how to cast the colony's vote. Rodney was home organizing the state militia when he learned there was a tie vote. He left immediately and raced on horseback, through a horrible thunderstorm, to Philadelphia, 80 miles away. Letters record that Rodney dashed into the convention and broke the deadlock that threatened the passage of the Declaration of Independence.
Benjamin Franklin, the oldest delegate and perhaps the best known, quickly became the peacemaker of the convention, his wit defusing tense moments. He had returned from Great Britain in May and, on the following day, had been elected a delegate. Interestingly, delegates did not know where Franklin stood on the issue of independence; he attended the sessions, quietly observed, and seldom joined the others for dinner. John Adams was overheard muttering that Franklin was treated with reverence even when he was "sitting in silence"; Adams was seldom silent.
On the same day (July 5, 1775) that the Olive Branch Petition, offering a path for reconciliation, was signed by the delegates, the delegates learned exactly how Franklin felt. A letter he had written to his English friend William Strahan, a fellow printer, was "leaked" to the public. His words predicted the future, as he wrote: "You are a Member of Parliament, and one of that Majority which has doomed my country to destruction. You have begun to burn our towns, and murder our people. Look upon your hands! They are stained with the blood of your relations! You and I were long friends: You are now my enemy, and I am Yours. B. Franklin." Franklin never mailed the letter, perhaps written for political purposes only, but he emerged as one of the strongest advocates for revolution.

"We Will Not Comply" - Thousands - Including City Workers, LAPD Officers, and Firemen - Gather Outside Los Angeles City Hall to Protest Upcoming Deadline for Covid Vaccine Mandates
On Monday morning, thousands of citizens gathered in Grand Park outside Los Angeles City Hall to protest the city's authoritarian vaccine mandate. A large percentage of the crowd - if not the majority - were municipal workers, including members of the LAPD and LAFD, as well as employees of several other city departments.
Los Angeles' citywide deadline for its employees to get the jab is set to kick in on December 18th. Anyone who is not vaccinated by that time will be fired from their jobs unless they have obtained an exemption - and we all know how likely they are to hand one of those out... 'when pigs fly.'
The city's policy is one of the strictest in the nation, and also includes a restrictive mandate on all LA residents that kicked in on November 4th. Proof of vaccination is now required for anyone aged 12 and up to enter the majority of indoor areas, including gyms, restaurants, bars, sporting events (indoor or outdoor), and several other common day-to-day locations, which only fueled the public outrage in the lead up to this massive protest.
Take a look:
The "the March for Freedom Rally" was organized by the local group "Firefighters 4 Freedom," which is a nonprofit organization that was founded by LA firefighter John Knox in order to stand up against medical tyranny in the wake of Covid-19.
The rally featured several speakers throughout the morning who all shared the same message: "Stop the mandated vaccinations."
Several city employees even said outright that they were willing to lose their jobs before taking the experimental jab during interviews with local news outlets.
According to NBC4 LA:
"Dozens of people among the crowd were wearing clothes designating their employment with the Los Angeles city and county fire departments, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and other government agencies.
Many people who appeared to be government employees declined to be interviewed, but a few employees said they were prepared to lose their job over the city's vaccination mandate, which gives them until Dec. 18 to comply."
These mandates are medical tyranny - plain and simple. Americans must stand together like they did today in LA to fight against the Left's dystopian power-grab, and do it quickly - preferably before additional deadlines pass that force more Americans to lose their livelihoods.

LAPD Officers File Lawsuit Against City over Vaccine Mandate

Six Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers filed a federal lawsuit on Saturday against L.A.'s vaccine mandate, which requires all city employees to be vaccinated by early October unless they have medical or religious exemptions.
The Los Angeles Times reported:
The lawsuit, filed Saturday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, claims the mandate violates the employees' constitutional rights to privacy and due process, and asks the court to provide immediate and permanent relief from the requirement.
The six LAPD employees suing include individuals"who could not assert a medical or religious exemption" to the vaccine requirement, as well as individuals who have "experienced and recovered from COVID-19? and have natural antibodies to fight the virus, the complaint states.
The lawsuit alleges the city's mandate ignores the natural protections provided by such antibodies and claims the suing employees "can safely perform their job duties protecting themselves, fellow employees and the community they serve through non-pharmaceutical interventions such as daily health screenings, wearing masks, and quarantine."
First responders nationwide have been among the more vociferous opponents of mandatory vaccination, though they are often exposed to more risks of infection. Ten LAPD employees have died from the coronavirus since the pandemic began.
Los Angeles firefighter John Knox, who leads a group called Firefighters for Freedom, told Breitbart News last week that the vaccine mandate violated members' constitutional rights. Members of public sector unions, including the SEIU, have also complained that state and local vaccine mandates override provisions in the unions' collective bargaining agreements.
Garcetti proposed the vaccine mandate in late July, when the Delta variant surge was at its peak. It was ratified 13-0 by the city council, and goes into effect in several weeks. Vaccine mandates are proving popular among some liberal voters.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicist_interpretations_of_the_Book_of_Revelation#Antichrist
> Protestant reformers, including Martin Luther, John Calvin, Thomas Cranmer, John Thomas, John Knox, and Cotton Mather, felt the early church had been led into apostasy by the Papacy and identified it as the Antichrist. The Centuriators of Magdeburg, a group of Lutheran scholars in Magdeburg headed by Matthias Flacius, wrote the 12-volume "Magdeburg Centuries" to discredit the papacy and identify the pope as the Antichrist. So rather than expecting a single Antichrist to rule the earth during a future Tribulation period, Martin Luther, John Calvin, and other Protestant reformers saw the Antichrist as a present feature in the world of their time, fulfilled in the papacy.
Historically, the protestants saw the pope as being the anti-christ, which goes waay back before 1832.
