President Biden has authorized the first use of U.S.-supplied long-range missiles by Ukraine for strikes inside Russia, U.S. officials said.

The weapons are likely to be initially employed against Russian and North Korean troops in defense of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of western Russia, the officials said.

Mr. Biden's decision is a major change in U.S. policy. The choice has divided his advisers, and his shift comes two months before President-elect Donald J. Trump takes office, having vowed to limit further support for Ukraine.

Allowing the Ukrainians to use the long-range missiles, known as the Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACMS, came in response to Russia's surprise decision to bring North Korean troops into the fight, officials said.

This is the big one. The Economic Policy is the distinct and singular policy at the core of Make America Great Again. The MAGA coalition is centered around the principles of America First economics, and Ron DeSantis has just admitted he does not support them.

CTH has long warned about Ron DeSantis' economic policy being driven by the donors who fund him. When he was in congress, DeSantis voted in support of Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) for President Obama, and DeSantis voted in support of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement (TPP).

These are the trade policies supported by the Club for Growth who was congressman DeSantis' biggest funder. The Club for Growth also held the pre-announcement donor fundraiser in February of this year in support of DeSantis '24..

The Wall Street billionaire, hedge fund, multinational corporate alliance, that assembles at Sea Island and funds Ron DeSantis, are fully against America First trade and economic policies. DeSantis has just made an admission of his alignment with that corporate "globalist" outlook to aprivate confab of donors in California.

TheDeSantis campaign is in full panic and retreat modenow that his establishment position is exposed. Thestatements during the secret meeting were leaked.

The Central Valley lunch stop for 60 donors - paying $3,300 - was in between a breakfast event in Sacramento, and an evening in southern California. The only indication that something special was going on was a "private event" sign. Most of the questions for the security guard related to the location of the restrooms.

Ron DeSantis aligning against the core values of America First economics is a HUGE warning flare. We have discussed this issue on these pages and in every platform we can reach for a long time. The DeSantis team is trying desperately to recover from sunlight upon their donor influence, but they cannot refute the words of their candidate in support of those donor priorities.

Keep in mind also that Donald Trump recently announced the sweeping "Economic Agenda 47", which includes baseline tariffs against all imported goods.

McCain, Romney Donor Leads DeSantis Fundraiser in Silicon Valley.

Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis's Silicon Valley Peninsula fundraiser was hosted by John Hamilton, a real estate investor who has donated tens of thousands to RINOs and former presidential hopefuls Mitt Romney and John McCain.

According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Hamilton contributed over $25,000 to McCain in the run-up to the 2008 presidential election. He contributed $18,000 alone in August while also making three smaller donations of $2,300 across that year, with one of those going to the McCain fund. Not once does he appear to have donated to Trump, or anti-establishment candidates, with recent contributions going to Kristi Noem, Kevin McCarthy, and Mitch McConnell.

Hamilton also donated a total of $27,500 to Romney for the latter's 2012 presidential campaign, making a large individual donation of $20,000 in April, as well as three further donations of $2,500.

The DeSantis fundraiser was held at Hamilton's own home on Monday afternoon. Earlier in the day, the Florida Governor held another fundraiser at the Del Paso Country Club, for which he struggled to find more than one sponsor. Tickets for the event cost upwards of $3,3oo.

Video shows Black man pinned to tree in what he calls 'attempted lynching' at Indiana lake

Indiana authorities are investigating a report by a Black man who said he was pinned to a tree by a group of white men, an attack he likened to an "attempted lynching."

Parts of the incident were captured on video by one of the man's friends.

In a post to Facebook, Vauhxx Booker wrote, "I don't want to recount this, but I was almost the victim of an attempted lynching." He went on: "On July 4th evening others and me were victims of what I would describe as a hate crime. I was attacked by five white men [with Confederate flags] who literally threatened to lynch me in front of numerous witnesses." Booker said he and his friends were visiting a public beach on Lake Monroe outside Bloomington, Ind., to join a gathering when a group of white men said they were on private property and began following them.

Some of the men became belligerent, he said. When he approached "sober seeming group members" to "see if we could smooth things over a bit," the confrontation escalated. Video posted to social media shows a group of white men holding Booker to a tree as his friends plead with them to release him. In the video, one man shouts at the camera, "You happy about this, you nappy-headed bitch? You and your five white friends?" As Booker's friends leave, one of the men follows, shouting, "Those Black boys want to start it all."

In his Facebook post, Booker claimed there were shouts of "get a noose" and "white power."

He said he was released after several white strangers intervened. He said he suffered bruises, abrasions and a "minor concussion" in the incident.

There had been no arrests as of Monday afternoon, but Katharine Liell, a Bloomington attorney representing Booker, told Yahoo News she expected some to come. She criticized officers of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) who responded to the scene but declined to interview witnesses who offered to share video of Booker being held against the tree. Liell said she was concerned that the officers had not relayed the full picture to prosecutors.

"I believe those DNR officers were in the prosecutor's office by 8:45 this morning, and I'm sure there were some tough questions that they had to ask those officers," said Liell. "What we're trying to do is coordinate with them to make sure they have the information necessary to make a good charging decision."

Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton said he has personally known Booker, a resident of his city, for at least five years. Booker is active in the community, he says, and a member of the Monroe County Human Rights Commission. Hamilton concedes that even in his relatively liberal city, home to Indiana University, racism persists within and around the community.

"We're a very progressive city," Hamilton told Yahoo News in a video chat interview. "We believe in inclusion, but in our community we know we have hate incidents every year. We know there's racism in our community and around our community, and we can't pretend that's not the case."

Indiana has a long history with the Ku Klux Klan, serving as a stronghold for the group in the early 20th century, all the way up to Gov. Governor Edward L. Jackson, who worked closely with Klan leaders in the 1920s.

Liell, Booker's lawyer, described him as a "very prominent member" of the community.

Boeing chief engineer at center of 737 MAX crisis retires


SEATTLE - Boeing Commercial Airplanes chief engineer John Hamilton, who was appointed in March to lead its response to the deadly 737 MAX crashes and testified before Congress alongside CEO Dennis Muilenburg, is retiring, the company informed employees this week.


The news was conveyed in an internal memo from the new head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Stan Deal, and Boeing's chief engineer, Greg Hyslop.


"John had planned to retire last year, but we asked him to stay on to help us with the 737 MAX investigations and return to service efforts," they wrote. "We are immensely grateful to John for lending his expertise and leadership during a very challenging time."

UN inspectors are examining more than 2,500 AK-47 rifles and other guns seized by the crew of a U.S. destroyer off the coast of Yemen to determine whether the weapons originated in Iran or Somalia. U.S. authorities said they invited the UN inspectors on board on October 25 to determine whether the weapons provide proof that Iran is smuggling arms to allied Shi'ite Huthi rebels that are battling the Yemeni government in a four-year civil war. Iran has denied providing weapons to the Huthis. The United States in debates that the United Nations has repeatedly charged Iran with illegally smuggling weapons to the Huthis, in violation of UN resolutions against arming the Huthis.

Yet U.S. forces patrolling the waters around Yemen have managed to seize only a handful of weapons caches like the one seized by the USS Jason Dunham in late August. "It's one big traffic corridor," Vice Admiral Scott Stearney, commander of U.S. 5th Fleet, told reporters on board the vessel on October 25, speaking of the Gulf of Aden and other waterways around Yemen. Stearney declined to say if he thought Iran was responsible for the weapons seized by the Dunham's crew, but he said the UN inspectors were experts on illicit weapons from Iran, Yemen, and Somalia.

The U.S. destroyer's crew while on patrol in the region in August noticed large bags being transferred from a dhow about 70 miles off the coast of Yemen into a smaller skiff. A dhow is a traditional ship that commonly sails the waters of the Persian Gulf region. The Navy ship intercepted the skiff and, after talking to the crew on board, determined they were smuggling weapons. The rifles, in bundles of four or five, were wrapped in plastic, then wrapped in Styrofoam and hidden in green burlap bags, according to Navy Commander John Hamilton, commander of the Dunham. A small number of reporters on board the ship were allowed to see the assault rifles, which were heavily rusted after nearly two months at sea. The weapons had been unpacked and piled up, and were ready to be inspected by the UN team. Hamilton said the crew on the dhow told them they were carrying flour and wheat, but he said none of the foodstuffs were found on board.

Navy Captain Adan Cruz, commodore of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, said the weapons could have been shipped from Somalia rather than Iran. The UN inspectors, he said, will determine the guns' origin and "see first-hand the weapons flowing into the region." UN Ambassador Nikki Haley in calling for a crackdown on Iran at the UN has repeatedly accused Iran of supplying the Huthis. Last year, she displayed the remnants of missiles that the Huthi rebels fired at Saudi Arabia, which is backing the Yemeni government in the civil war, saying they provided "undeniable evidence" that Iran was illegally supplying weapons to its Yemeni allies.

ABOARD THE USS JASON DUNHAM, Persian Gulf - The huge pile of rusting AK-47 assault rifles is tucked into a corner below the deck of the USS Jason Dunham, serving as a grim reminder of how hard it is to catch weapons smugglers believed to be trafficking arms into Yemen.

On Thursday U.N. inspectors boarded the American guided-missile destroyer, to examine the more than 2,500 guns the crew seized in late August and determine if suspicions are true that the weapons originated in Iran.
U.S. officials have long accused Iran of smuggling arms across the waters to Yemen's Shiite Houthi rebels, who have held Yemen's capital, Sanaa, since September 2014. But they have only managed to seize a handful of weapons caches in recent years, underscoring the difficulties in tracking down arms smugglers working the vast waters around Yemen.

"It's one big traffic corridor," Vice Adm. Scott Stearney, commander of U.S. 5th Fleet, told reporters Thursday. "It's not blocked, and it's not just lines on a map that people don't penetrate."

Stearney declined to say if he thought Iran was responsible for the shipment, but he said the U.N. inspectors were experts on illicit weapons from Iran, Yemen and Somalia.
