When 18 Republicans Help Kill Defunding Pentagon-Sponsored Pride Events, Who Needs Democrats?
By Becky Noble | 3:25 PM on September 29, 2023
It has been pointed out many times, that the great Rush Limbaugh used to say that, "The purpose of any military is to kill people and break things." But try telling that to Democrats. From Bill Clinton's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," to the rainbow-drenched fighting force of today, Democrats view the military, not as the last line of defense for America and her citizens, but as some sort of social experiment with captive subjects.
When Republicans took control of the House of Representatives, and the nation's purse strings, many people thought the days of a woke military under the Biden administration might come to an end. But thanks to a handful of Republicans, Pride Month celebrations will continue in the U.S. military.
Here's the list of House Republicans who voted against the amendment:
Ken Buck of Colorado
Ken Calvert of California
Lori Chavez-DeRemer of Oregon
John Curtis of Utah
Anthony D'Esposito of New York
John Duarte of California
Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
Andrew Garbarino of New York
Tony Gonzales of Texas
David Joyce of Ohio
Thomas Kean, Jr. of New Jersey
Kevin Kiley of California
Nick LaLota of New York
Michael Lawler of New York
Nancy Mace of South Carolina
Marcus Molinaro of New York
Jay Obernolte of California
Michelle Steel of California
On Wednesday, 18 House Republicans sided with Democrats and voted to kill an amendment to the 2024 Department of Defense budget 231-202, that would have ended taxpayers footing the bill for any Pentagon-sponsored Pride Month celebrations. The amendment was introduced by Texas Congressman Chip Roy (R), and even with a slim GOP majority in the House, the amendment failed with 18 Republicans siding with Democrats. Four House members declined to vote.

Most House Democrats, Eight Republicans Help Biden Shield China's Solar Industry from U.S. Tariffs
Nearly all House Democrats, along with eight House Republicans, helped tank an effort to override President Joe Biden's veto of a bipartisan plan that would have restored United States tariffs on China-made solar panels.
In June 2022, Biden announced a 24-month tariff moratorium on solar panel imports from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Commerce Department officials suspect that the solar panels are actually made in China but have been routed through the four southeast Asian nations to avoid U.S. tariffs on China-made solar panels.
The suspension of tariffs came even as Biden's Commerce Department found that BYD Hong Kong rerouted its production through Cambodia, Canadian Solar and Trina through Thailand, and Vina Solar through Vietnam for the sole purpose of avoiding the tariffs.
This week, after Biden vetoed a House and Senate-approved plan to reinstate the tariffs on solar panel imports, 197 House Democrats and eight House Republicans voted to help the administration stave off the tariffs.
The only Republicans to oppose overriding Biden's veto were the same group that initially joined most Democrats to oppose restoring the tariffs:
Rep. John Curtis (R-UT)
Rep. Anthony D'Esposito (R-NY)
Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY)
Rep. Nicholas LaLota (R-NY)
Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY)
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY)
Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA)
Rep. Marcus Molinaro (R-NY)
"[Failing to override Biden's veto] says that we will allow trade cheating, we want cheap stuff at any cost, we don't really care about forced labor, we don't care about dirty coal being used to make the panels that take 10 years of use to offset the dirty coal that went into them," Michael Stumo, the CEO of the Coalition for a Prosperous America told Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO).
"This 24-month moratorium ... of those tariffs is not temporary. It's permanent because they're building wafer plants there in order to comply and not be found to circumvent [tariffs] later, so we'll get solar from those countries forever, not just temporarily," Stumo said.
From 2001 to 2018, U.S. free trade with China eliminated 3.7 million American jobs from the economy - 2.8 million of which were lost in American manufacturing. During that same period, at least 50,000 American manufacturing plants closed down.
Those massive job losses have coincided with a booming U.S.-China trade deficit. In 1985, before China entered the World Trade Organization (WTO), the U.S. trade deficit with China totaled $6 billion. In 2019, the U.S. trade deficit with China totaled more than $345 billion.
While skyrocketing U.S. trade deficits have led to devastation across America's working- and middle-class communities over the last two decades, tariffs would be a boon for reshoring jobs and boosting wages, studies show. One such study finds that tariffs on nearly all foreign imports would create about ten million American jobs while boosting domestic output.

Democrat Lawmaker Lois Frankel Sold First Republic Stock Before It Crashed by 80% - Bought JPMorgan Stock Which Just Bought First Republic Instead
Investor Matt Allen posted an interesting tweet on how one Democrat lawmaker was able to wade through the collapse of First Republic Bank.
Congresswoman Lois Frankel sold First Republic Bank in March before the stock dropped 80%
After she sold First Republic, she bought JP Morgan Chase which just bought First Republic. She clearly had inside information.
The Free Beacon reported:
Florida Democratic representative Lois Frankel is capitalizing on First Republic Bank's collapse and subsequent buyout by JP Morgan Chase & Co, according to congressional financial disclosures reported on by Newsweek.
Frankel sold her stock in the San Francisco-based bank on March 16, weeks before the value of its shares dropped 75 percent and U.S. regulators seized the failing bank's assets, Newsweek reported. A few days later, on March 22, Frankel bought stock in JP Morgan Chase & Co, which on Monday bought most of First Republic Bank's assets. The exact amount of stock Frankel traded is unknown, but according to the filing, the value for each trade was between $1,001 and $15,000, Newsweek reported.
Frankel's shrewd trading fuels mounting criticism of members of Congress buying and selling stocks, which allows them to profit from industries they are supposed to regulate. Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D., Ore.) and John Curtis (R., Utah) also reported trading First Republic Bank stocks before its collapse.

Eight House Republicans Join Democrats to Protect China from U.S. Tariffs
A group of eight House Republicans joined the majority of Democrats to support President Joe Biden's suspension of United States tariffs on suspected China-made solar panels. Nonetheless, a bill to reverse the tariff suspension passed the House with support from 209 Republicans and 12 Democrats.

On Friday, 209 House Republicans and 12 Democrats passed a resolution to reverse Biden's tariff suspension while eight House Republicans - primarily from New York - joined 194 Democrats to oppose the effort.
The eight House Republicans who backed Biden's tariff waivers are:

Lawmakers Made Massive Stock Trades Amid Failure Of Multiple Banks
Apr 11, 2023
Several lawmakers made considerable bank stock trades as multiple financial institutions failed last month, according to federal disclosures.
The implosions of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, where the vast majority of account balances exceeded the $250,000 threshold backed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, prompted the government-backed company to secure all accounts at the firms last month in order to prevent additional bank runs. Assets for the two firms were respectively acquired by First Citizens Bank and New York Community Bancorp for significant discounts.
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) purchased between $1,001 and $15,000 in New York Community Bancorp stock on March 17, days after she met with officials regarding the failure of Signature Bank, according to a periodic transaction report. The stock closed at $6.54 on March 17 before rising to $9.19 on March 21, two days after the acquisition was announced, and remains at $9.04 as of Tuesday.
A spokesperson for Malliotakis told The Wall Street Journal that she executed the trade at the recommendation of her financial advisor and was not aware that New York Community Bancorp was considering a purchase of Signature Bank. Malliotakis indicated in the report that her spouse had purchased the shares, even though the lawmaker is unmarried; the spokesperson said the designation was made in error and affirmed that Malliotakis would correct the form.
Rep. Earl Blumenauer's (D-OR) wife meanwhile purchased between $1,001 and $15,000 in Silicon Valley Bank stock and sold as much as $15,000 in Bank of America stock on March 9; she likewise sold as much as $15,000 in First Republic Bank stock on March 20, according to his periodic transaction report.
Silicon Valley Bank stock fell from $106.04 on March 9 to $0.57 as of Tuesday, resulting in heavy losses for Blumenauer. Bank of America stock meanwhile fell from $30.54 on March 9 to $28.53 as of Tuesday, meaning that the lawmaker avoided losses, while shares for First Republic Bank rose from $12.18 on March 20 to $14.22 as of Tuesday. A spokesperson for Blumenauer asserted that he was not aware of his wife's trades.
Rep. John Curtis (R-UT) executed a partial sale of between $1,001 and $15,000 in Bank of America stock on March 16, as well as a sale of as much as $15,000 in First Republic Bank stock on the same day, according to his periodic transaction report. Curtis avoided losses as share prices for First Republic Bank declined from $34.27 on March 16 to $14.25 as of Tuesday, while share prices for Bank of America remained largely unchanged.
Malliotakis and Blumenauer are each members of the House Ways and Means Committee, while Curtis sits on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Several prominent lawmakers, such as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), have been accused in recent years of leveraging their intimate knowledge about forthcoming regulations or economic tumult to purchase stocks at opportune times and mitigate losses by selling shares. As many as 97 lawmakers or their immediate family members purchased or sold assets related to their legislative committee work between 2019 and 2021, according to an analysis published last year by The New York Times.
Various legislative proposals have since called for bans on individual stock trading by lawmakers and their relatives: Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) earlier this year introduced the Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments Act, also known as the PELOSI Act, while Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT), and Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) introduced a similar bill last month.

Q Research General #22321: Pence has been Classified Edition
Josh Hawley Introduces 'PELOSI Act' to Ban Congress from Trading Stocks
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) has introduced the "PELOSI Act" which would ban members of Congress, as well as their family members, from holding or trading stocks.
The legislation, known as the Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments (PELOSI) Act, references former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) who was called out last year after her husband, Paul Pelosi, bought up to $5 million in stock in a semiconductor company right as the Senate was passing legislation to massively subsidize the semiconductor industry.
Pelosi was also among a group of Republicans and Democrats who beat the market in 2021 with hundreds of millions of dollars in stock trades. Others who faired the best include Reps. Austin Scott (R-GA), Brian Mast (R-FL), French Hill (R-AR), John Curtis (R-UT), and Dan Crenshaw (R-TX).
Hawley, who introduced similar legislation last year, said the practice must end.
"For too long, politicians in Washington have taken advantage of the economic system they write the rules for, turning profits for themselves at the expense of the American people," Hawley said in a statement.
"As members of Congress, both Senators and Representatives are tasked with providing oversight of the same companies they invest in, yet they continually buy and sell stocks, outperforming the market time and again," he continued.
Hawley's PELOSI Act would ban members of Congress and their spouses from holding, acquiring, or selling stocks while in office. The legislation gives members and their spouses six months after taking office to divest stocks they hold or put them in a blind trust.
If members of Congress or their spouses are found to be in violation of the legislation's rules, they would have to forfeit any profits to the United States Treasury. Violators would also be prohibited from deducting those losses on their income taxes.
The legislation gives the House and Senate ethics committees full power to fine members of Congress for such violations and would be required to publicize them to the American people. In accordance with the bill, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) would be required to audit members of Congress to ensure they are complying with the rules.
"While Wall Street and Big Tech work hand-in-hand with elected officials to enrich each other, hardworking Americans pay the price," Hawley said. "The solution is clear: we must immediately and permanently ban all members of Congress from trading stocks."
Banning members of Congress and their family members from trading stocks is hugely popular among likely American voters.
Last year, a Trafalgar Group survey revealed that 76 percent believe Congress has an "unfair advantage" when it comes to the stock market. Only five percent support permitting congressional stock trading.

How Bill Gates Bought The Republican Wave of 2022 - Here's a Full List of Congressional Republicans Funded by Gates
Many people within the United States are hoping for a Republican takeover of Congress in 2022. Most Republicans feel that the party is in a much better position after ousting RINOs like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.
Cheney, for instance, was the #3 Republican in the House of Representatives. She served in the position of Conference Chair. She was replaced in 2021 by New York Republican Representative Elise Stefanik.
Stefanik had the backing of many within the 'MAGA' movement. She was even endorsed by Donald Trump. He hosted a Mar-a-Lago fundraiser for her back in January. He was quoted as saying that Stefanik would 'one day be President.'
Upon investigation of published federal campaign finance data, Launch Liberty has discovered that Stefanik has taken a lot of money from Billionaire William Henry Gates III, better known as Bill Gates.
In fact, Gates has been funding Stefanik for a number of years. As Stefanik ascended through the Republican Party, Bill Gates began to donate to her re-election campaigns. Now she has a real chance at possibly becoming Speaker of the House.
Gates has simply purchased all sides of this election. Though we expect him to fund Democrats, it is quite alarming to see the scope of influence Gates plans to have on the 2022 Republican ticket. He has obviously prepared for a Red Wave.
Here is a full list of the Congressional Republicans he has funded for the upcoming 2022 cycle.
Rep. Vernon Buchanan - Florida, District 16

seems like good guy with gun foiled the ff chan nazi setup
Just a few hours before he opened fire in a packed Indiana food court on Sunday evening, 20-year-old gunman Jonathan Sapirman appears to have made chilling posts on 4chan that warned of his plan and invoked Nazi imagery.
Sapirman, 20, walked to the Greenwood Park Mall from his apartment on Sunday with three legally purchased guns-two assault rifles and a handgun. He spent an hour in a bathroom then walked out into the food court and fatally shot three people, all of Hispanic origin, before 22-year-old "good Samaritan" Elisjsha Dicken shot him dead from long-range with a handgun.
Sapirman's motive remains unclear; his family said he was being evicted from his apartment, had recently quit his warehouse job, and had been frequenting a gun range. Greenwood Police said he began buying firearms from local gun stores in March.
A since-deleted post that appears to have been posted by Sapirman on 4chan, the online message board that has played a role in several white supremacist-inspired mass shootings, has since circulated online.
"Name is jonathan and today seems like a good day to die," the message, with a time stamp 1:13 p.m., reads. It was accompanied by a colorized wedding photo of an Unterscharf?hrer, a rank in the Nazi military. He opened fire at around 6 p.m. the same day.
The post also included a link to Imgur, an image-sharing site, that contained photos of a young man wearing a white button-down shirt, a black face mask, blue jeans, and a combat-style vest. In the background are two AR-15-style rifles, a handgun, and ammunition.
The Greenwood Mall Shooter - Jonathan Douglas Sapirman likely posted to 4chan boards yesterday at 2:13:43 "my name is Jonathan and today seems like a good day to die".
The post is now gone but did exist under the post ID listed. pic.twitter.com/rKLPe15peo

Greenwood Police Chief James Ison would not confirm that the posts were written by Sapirman but he told VICE and local outlet WISH-TV that investigators were "aware" of the photos and message.
"The Greenwood Police Department and FBI are working diligently to identify the source," he told WISH-TV. "When our investigation is complete we will issue an update. There is no time frame on this update as the investigation is ongoing."
VICE reports that the man's outfit in the photos on Imgur match the outfit seen in a graphic crime scene photo that has since circulated on 4chan. It shows the bloodied suspect lying dead on the tiles in Greenwood Mall with a placard that says "dead." Ison did not dispute that photo's authenticity to VICE, saying that police were trying to get to the bottom of where it came from.
Investigators have not alleged that Sapirman held any far-right or white supremacist ideologies. However, his three victims-married couple Pedro and Rosa Mirian Rivera de Pineda, and Victor Gomez-were of El Salvadoran and Mexican heritage, respectively, friends told WISH-TV. Greenwood is 84.5 percent white, according to census data.
Investigators said Monday that, when they searched Sapirman's apartment, they found his laptop with a can of butane in a hot oven.
He also threw his cellphone in the mall toilet before unleashing carnage. The laptop and cellphone are being further probed by the FBI.
4chan has been repeatedly criticized for being a cesspool of bigotry and a training ground for far-right conspiracy theorists. Most recently, it allegedly played a role in radicalizing the Buffalo shooter who killed 10 Black people at a grocery store in a predominately Black neighborhood in Upstate New York.

GOP Rep. John Curtis: Salazar Amnesty Bill Delivers 'Reliable Foreign Workers' to Business
Rep. John Curtis (R-UT) says a plan that gives amnesty to illegal aliens and expands pipelines for foreign visa workers will be a boost for business.
Last week, as Breitbart News reported, Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL) and six House Republicans introduced "The Dignity Act" to provide green cards to the nation's 11 to 22 million while expanding visa programs to more readily outsource American jobs.
Curtis is co-sponsoring the bill alongside Reps. Dan Newhouse (R-WA), Pete Sessions (R-TX), Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon (R-PR), Tom Reed (R-NY), and Peter Meijer (R-MI). The bill is backed by the United States Chamber of Commerce and the Niskanen Center.
"... the Dignity Act balances the need for a secure and working border with compassionate policies that keep families together, ensures employers have access to reliable foreign workers, and welcomes people into our society and communities," Curtis said in a statement.
Curtis's donors include mega multinational corporations like Comcast, Alphabet Inc., Berkshire Hathaway, and AT&T, among others, which have a vested financial interest in driving as many foreign nationals to the U.S. as possible.
The plan's amnesty provisions allow hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to immediately secure green cards while millions of others are put on a 10-year track to obtain green cards while holding work permits.
Also included, are expansions of the H-2A and H-2B visa programs that deliver thousands of foreign workers to U.S. farms and seasonal employers every year. With the H-2B visa, the plan exempts returning foreign workers from the annual cap, while the H-2A visa provisions will make hiring foreign farmworkers easier.
Both visa programs are crucial for employers to keep U.S. wages low and stagnant in farm jobs, as well as seasonal nonagricultural jobs.
Last month, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) vowed not to consider any amnesty plans for illegal aliens should Republicans take back the House in this year's midterm elections.
The amnesty violates that pledge - indicating that, assuming McCarthy is Speaker and sticks to his word, the proposal stands no chance in a GOP-run House led by McCarthy next Congress.
The plan comes even as scandal has rocked the H-2A visa program in recent months in the form of a 54-count federal indictment. According to prosecutors, a transnational criminal organization had been using the H-2A visa program to traffic foreign workers from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras into farm jobs in Georgia.
Prosecutors called the scheme "modern-day slavery."
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden's administration has executively expanded the H-2B visa program to allow 40,000 more foreign workers to take blue-collar American jobs - often in construction, landscaping, meatpacking, and fishing.

House RINOs Push Amnesty for Illegals Plan
At a time when Biden's weakness and terrible policy choices have presented an open flank against which the GOP could attack and win major political victories, or at least score some big points before the midterms to help boost their reelection chances, what are the RINO members of the party doing?
Are they temporarily growing a spine, if only so that they can trick voters into letting them keep their cushy Congressional jobs?
Nope. Instead, the Congressional RINOs have spent time working on an "amnesty for illegals" plan that they're now pushing.
At a time when the country is furious that Biden has let so many illegals flood into the country, when all Republicans need to do is appear strong on the border, Reps. Maria Salazar (R-FL), Dan Newhouse (R-WA), John Curtis (R-UT), Pete Sessions (R-TX), Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon (R-PR), Tom Reed (R-NY), and Peter Meijer (R-MI) are pushing a bill that would give those generally unwelcome illegals amnesty.
The legislation, ridiculously named "The Dignity Act", would effectively provide green cards to all those illegals residing here. In the words of the bill's summary:
The Dignity Act provides a reasonable, compassionate, and complete solution to America's
immigration crisis. It ends illegal immigration to the United States once and for all, reestablishes law and order, provides a practical solution for the undocumented, revitalizes the American workforce, and restores America's economy.
The bill then goes on to absurdly claim that handing illegals a green card will somehow "[End] illegal immigration once and for all" and "[Protect] in American Workers and saves American industries".
How will handing amnesty cards to all the many millions that have broken the law in coming here somehow end illegal immigration and protect American workers and industries?
That's unclear; apparently we need to take it on faith. A reasonable person would assume that effectively rewarding the millions that broke the law in getting to America would simply encourage more people to brave the border crossing and come over illegally, then ask for their green card. Furthermore, the addition of tens of millions to the legal economy would further depress wages, especially for Americans at the lower end of the income spectrum.

21 House Republicans Push to Make Transgenders a Federally Protected Class
WASHINGTON, DC - According to reports, 21 House Republicans are siding with the likes of transgender activist groups to make sexual orientation and gender identity a federally protected class under civil rights law.
Yet, with the mounting controversies that have cropped up over the past year regarding the transgender movement, these House Republicans may be alienating their constituents by handing over more power to this ideology's already forceful ability to silence dissent.
Rep. Chris Stewart of Utah sponsored the Fairness For All Act (FFAA) in 2019, an all-Republican bill that would make sexual orientation and gender identity a federally protected class in exchange for specific "right to discriminate" carve-outs for dissident religious organizations.
The bill went nowhere in 2019 but was reintroduced in February of 2021 by Rep. Stewart, and now has the backing of 20 other House Republicans - some of which are fairly well-known Republicans - which are as follows:
Fred Upton (Mich.)
Elise Stefanik (N.Y.)
John Curtis (Utah)
Mark Amodei (Nev.)
Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.)
Adam Kinzinger (Ill.)
Andrew Garbarino (N.Y.)
Blake Moore (Utah)
Burgess Owens (Utah)
Carlos Gimenez (Fla.)
Chris Jacobs (N.Y.)
Claudia Tenney (N.Y.)
Jeff Van Drew (N.J.)
Jenniffer Gonz?lez-Col?n (P.R.)
Maria Salazar (Fla.)
Mario D?az-Balart (Fla.)
Mike Simpson (Idaho)
Nicole Malliotakis (N.Y.)
Steve Stivers (Ohio)
Tom Reed (N.Y.)
When these 21 Republicans revived FFAA, supporters claimed that it achieved a "compromise" between religious liberty and establishing LGBT Americans' anti-discrimination protections.
Right-leaning supporters argue that the measure is a conservative alternative to the Equality Act, a much more extreme Democratic initiative that would make sexual orientation and gender identity a U.S. civil-rights law without any of the religious-liberty safeguards that the FFAA provides.

US lawmakers play with the idea of social media ID verification, following proposals from other countries
A draft discussion bill hints at future proposals.
By Tom Parker
Posted 12:50 pm
Anonymity is often vital for those who want to speak truth to power and expose government wrongdoing. We only need to look to the US government's treatment of National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Edward Snowden and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to see how far governments will go to target those that don't have the shield of anonymity when they reveal information that governments want to hide.
And in 2021 governments have renewed their efforts to end online anonymity by proposing and introducing new laws that force users to hand over their identity documents (IDs) to use social media and by framing online anonymity as something that needs to be eradicated.
While most of these government efforts to end online anonymity have been widely covered in the media, America's recent proposals have managed to stay out of the spotlight.
But despite flying under the radar, these proposals do exist in a discussion draft that was introduced by Congressman John Curtis in May.
The discussion draft aims to "require a provider of a social media service to verify the identity of users of the service, and for other purposes" and prevent anyone from creating a social media account without verifying their identity.
Not only does this discussion draft intend to make ID verification mandatory for anyone who wants to create a social media account but it also wants to force social media companies to report users to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) whenever they suspect users have submitted fake IDs. Additionally, it contains a requirement for the FTC to submit these reports to the United States (US) Department of Justice (DOJ).
Social media companies that fail to comply with the terms outlined in this discussion draft will be targeted under section 18(a)(1)(B) of the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. 57a(a)(1)(B)) which allows the FTC to define "unfair or deceptive acts or practices," impose additional requirements on companies to prevent these acts or practices, and introduce "significant civil penalties for rulebreakers."
While the discussion draft does include an exception for social media providers that have annual revenues of less than $1 billion for three consecutive years, the large social media platforms where the vast majority of the more than three billion total social media users are registered will be forced to verify the real identity of their users under the discussion draft's current requirements.
Alternative social media platforms will only be shielded from this requirement if their revenues stay below the annual $1 billion threshold and if the discussion draft becomes law, this limit could be encroached upon and lowered, as has happened many times before with other laws.
We obtained a copy of this social media ID discussion draft for you here.

The 35 House Republicans who defied Trump and voted for the January 6 commission
Thirty-five House Republicans voted for an investigation into the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
Republicans critical of President Trump's role in the events broke ranks to vote for the probe.
The vote underscores the division within the GOP over Trump's influence on the party's direction.
Thirty-five House Republicans on Wednesday voted in favor of a bill to establish a commission to investigate the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
Former President Donald Trump this week urged Republican lawmakers to oppose it, saying in a statement: "Republicans must get much tougher and much smarter, and stop being used by the Radical Left."
The result underscores the ongoing division within the GOP over Trump's role in and influence over the party's direction, with many Republicans who had criticized the former president for his role in the events of January 6 - including Rep. Liz Cheney - breaking ranks to vote in favor of establishing a commission.
The bill passed by a vote of 252-175 and was opposed by GOP leadership, Insider's Grace Panetta and Charles Davis reported.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy spoke out against the bill, saying the commission "does not examine interrelated forms of political violence in America," and House Republican leadership on Tuesday also tried to pressure GOP lawmakers to vote against it, Punchbowl News reported.

35 House Republicans Vote for Bill to Establish January 6 Commission
Thirty-five House Republicans voted Wednesday to establish a commission to investigate the riots and protests on January 6.
The House passed H.R. 3233, the National Commission to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol Complex Act, with 252 votes in favor and 175 votes against the bill.
While the bill featured strong Democrat support, the legislation also had surprisingly strong support from House Republicans.
Thirty-five House Republicans voted for the legislation, even though House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) came out against the bill. He criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for not negotiating in good faith.
The 35 House Republicans who voted for the bill reportedly include:
Tom Rice (R-SC)
Dan Newhouse (R-WA)
Cliff Bentz (R-OR)
Tom Reed (R-NY)
Peter Meijer (R-MI)
Adam Kinzinger (R-IL)
John Katko (R-NY)

The ten House Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump also voted for the commission to investigate the riots on January 6.
The 35 House Republicans run counter to some House Republicans, such as Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), who contended on the House floor before the vote that many committees already have the ability to investigate the incidents on January 6.
Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) said in a statement after the vote that Pelosi hopes the commission distracts from the Democrats' many crises.
He said, "This partisan legislation was designed to distract the American people from the unprecedented crisis at our border, Joe Biden's wasteful tax-and-spend policies, and the fact Democrats would rather defend radical Islamic terrorists in Palestine than support our allies in Israel."

Another Utah County Censures Never Trumper GOP Senator Mitt Romney
May 10, 2021 By Gabe Kaminsky
Republican Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, who voted to convict Trump in the last two Senate impeachment proceedings, was censured over the weekend by the Weber County GOP.
"The Weber County Republican Convention censures Mitt Romney for his votes to convict President Trump in two U.S. Senate impeachment trials," the resolution stated. "The Weber County Republican Convention thanks Senator Mike Lee for his votes to protect due process and the US Constitution by voting against the unconstitutional charges. The Weber County Republican Convention also thanks Congressmen Chris Stewart, John Curtis, Blake Moore, and Burgess Owens for voting against the Democrats' politically motivated articles of impeachment."
Romney received boos upon addressing attendees at the convention on May 1, whereas Utah Sen. Mike Lee was cheered.
"Now you know me as a person who says what he thinks and I don't hide the fact that I wasn't a fan of our last president's character issues," Romney said upon being interrupted. "I understand that I have a few folks who don't like me terribly much ... You can boo all you like. I've been a Republican all of my life. My dad was the governor of Michigan and I was the Republican nominee for president in 2012."
Former President Donald Trump criticized Romney in a statement Monday.
"After being loudly booed at the Utah Republican Party Convention, Utah's Weber County censured RINO Mitt Romney in the strongest of terms," Trump said in a statement. "Washington County Republicans also censured Romney in April. He is BAD NEWS for our Country!"
Trump fired back at Romney upon the events that ensued at the convention two weeks ago as well.
"So nice to see RINO Mitt Romney booed off the stage at the Utah Republican State Convention," the former president said in a statement. "They are among the earliest to have figured this guy out, a stone cold loser!"
Romney's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sen. Mitt Romney Censured by Utah County Republican Party
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) was censured over the weekend by the Weber County, Utah, Republican Party for voting to convict former President Donald Trump in the Senate's second impeachment trial of him earlier this year.
The resolution to censure Romney, a former presidential candidate, was passed 116-97 by members of the Weber County GOP, County Party Secretary Jill Koford told the Salt Lake Tribune.
"The Weber County Republican Convention censures Mitt Romney for his votes to convict President Trump in two U.S. Senate impeachment trials which denied the President due process, allowed falsified evidence, did not provide adequate time for an investigation, and did not follow the U.S. Constitution which states a President may only be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors," the Weber County GOP's resolution said.
The resolution also thanked Utah Republicans including Sen. Mike Lee and Reps. Chris Stewart, John Curtis, Blake Moore, and Burgess Owens for voting against the articles of impeachment earlier this year.
"You have six years between elections of senators, and I think it's important to let Senator Romney know the delegates are not satisfied with what he's doing," said Bryan Gray, who sponsored Saturday's censure of Romney, according to KUTV.
"I'm not here to divide the party by censuring Mitt Romney," Gray also said, as reported by The Standard newspaper. "I'm here to make him aware of how he divided the party."
The Epoch Times has contacted Romney's office for comment.
Romney, who voted to convict Trump during his first impeachment trial-the only Republican to do so-said that he voted to convict in February because he believed Trump attempted to "corrupt an election to keep oneself in power" with post-Nov. 3 election challenges and statements. The House Democrat-led impeachment said that Trump was partially responsible for the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.

These RINOs Are Democrats Who Want Trump Gone
By Devvy Kidd|November 26th, 2020
It's down to two minutes, no time outs left, the stadium is silent, tense. Winning the game depends on your quarterback's next play. He executes perfectly - the stadium roars as their team is now within reach of a win. QB is going to do a quick set up for a field goal.
But, wait! A referee is blowing the whistle, stop! The referee makes such an obvious bad call for a penalty, one would think he was throwing the game on purpose. The crowd goes wild, the quarterback is demanding the call be overturned; his team is outraged. They all saw the same thing: a fix. The clock runs out with no time to recover.
Does the team blame their star quarterback? No, they rally around him. A year later, after an internal investigation, the referee was found to be betting on games, cheating. But the team's Super Bowl dream was long gone.
In 2000, the presidential election was hanging by a ballot chad - and for those who don't remember, it wasn't just hanging chads but pregnant ones, too! Like millions, I watched the entire asinine battle over ballot chads. It was nothing more than an effort to cheat Bush, Jr., out of winning the election. Al Gore (bechev) conceded but changed his mind in the early hours of the next morning.
The State of Florida ballot challenge was a circus that should never have happened. Gore's mindless, brain dead supporters stood by him. Cheered him on because they believed Gore was being cheated out of a win. His party was unified and stood with him for challenging the vote, which he did - like any candidate in any election has the right to do.
Not so for President Trump. What's referred to as 'establishment' Republicans have turned on Trump like the junk yard dogs they are. No surprise from sore loser, Sen. Willard Romney or Sen. Ben Sasse who has been an obvious Trump hater for years.
Bush, Jr., says Trump needs to concede; go away junior, get back to your painting and let mommy Laura get you lunch. Maryland's GOP governor, Larry Hogan, said Trump needs to concede because the election results were overwhelmingly for Biden. It would appear Hogan has been on planet X the last 23 days.In addition to the aforementioned, these arrogant, swamp anuses have all congratulated Biden on his "win":
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), Rep. Francis Rooney (R-FL), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL), Rep. Paul Mitchell (R-MI), Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), Rep. John Curtis (R-UT), Rep. Denver Riggleman (R-VA), another state which I believe Trump actually won, Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) and Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY).
All of them are conveniently ignoring these glaring facts: Because the turn out for Trump was so massive, this is what it did for the Republican Party: Republicans now control redistricting coming next year by a margin of 27 states. Devastating for the Democrat/Communist Party USA. If they bothered to pay attention, the evidence of vote fraud is overwhelming. Second, Trump as a candidate has every right to contest the election - just like Gore.
The bottom line is all those RINOs have kicked their party's leader in the gut. They should all do their constituents a favor and come out - register as a Democrat because you're all now naked as a pig in a sty.
Not one of them believe in fair and honest elections. It took 37 days to resolve the Bush/Gore race. Support for Gore never wavered. It's now been 23 days since America watched the greatest heist (next to the Federal Reserve Banking Act of 1913) ever perpetrated on the American people: the stealing of an election.
Last week, Sen. Tom Cotton said show us the evidence not press conferences. The purpose of the press conference was (1) a show of power and unity, and (2) to give Americans an overview of the legal war underway. Signed, sworn affidavits under penalty of perjury was discussed by Sidney Powell. They are evidence admitted in a court of law.
Sidney Powell, Lin Wood, Jenna Ellis, Victoria Toensing, Joseph diGenova and all the other lawyers working on this steal are working under enormous pressure because of the time clock. I doubt many are getting much sleep, but they are fighting back. They are all very good at what they do and I believe the courts at all levels are prepared to deal with this constitutional crisis.
Waiting is always the hardest but We the People have to be patient. I know, the thought of Biden and his socialist/communist comrades getting into the White House is beyond stressful and truly frightening. Pray and ask God Almighty to show mercy and not let the cheaters win.

The List: 15 Republicans Lobbied to Reopen Loophole for Foreign Students
You know what to do anons, check they're donors, the lobbying groups, see of the Koch brothers or Soros are putting pressure on them through lobbying groups. Time to dispense with Republican in name only
A group of 15 House Republicans lobbied President Trump's administration to reopen a loophole that gives visas to online-only foreign students just as the White House reversed policy to do just that.
This month, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency announced it would enforce federal law that dictates that foreign students are not awarded F-1 student visas for the purpose of attending online courses.
On Tuesday, Trump's administration dropped the requirement for F-1 foreign student visa holders to attend in-person classes, reopening the loophole allowing them to stay in the U.S. The move came after major pressure from Fortune 500 companies, the Chamber of Commerce, and a lawsuit by Harvard University and MIT.
While the Trump administration dropped the visa requirement, 15 House Republicans signed a letter lobbying ICE to allow foreign students to attend online classes to stay in the U.S. on F-1 visas.
The 15 House Republicans include:

Last week the defense stated orally their intention to file a motion to dismiss with extreme prejudice. They have since did so formally by submitting the written motion to the court.
The court has not yet addressed this motion.

Project Veritas Releases Undercover Video of GOP Senate Candidate Becky Edwards Saying She's Utah's Best Bet to "Stand Up" For Abortion if Roe v Wade is Overturned
Project Veritas on Thursday released video of Utah GOP Senate candidate Becky Edwards telling an undercover PV journalist she's Utah's best bet to stand up for abortion if Roe v Wade is overturned.
Becky Edwards is a former Utah sate rep who is running for US Senate in the Republican primary.
"We have a trigger law here in Utah...I'm deeply concerned," Edwards said.
If Roe v Wade is overturned, Utah's "trigger law" will effectively ban abortion.
Becky Edwards told the undercover journalist she's going to stand up for abortion - but she said something totally different in public.
Project Veritas on Tuesday evening released shocking undercover footage from inside Utah GOP Congressman John Curtis's re-election campaign.
According to Curtis's Campaign Field Director Daniel Stephens, the RINO Rep. hides his views on abortion from voters.
