Apple CEO Tim Cook will host a fundraiser for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton next month.
The August 24 fundraiser, to be co-hosted by Apple vice president Lisa Jackson, will raise money for the Hillary Victory Fund, a committee backing the Clinton campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and 38 state Democratic parties, Buzzfeed reported on Friday citing an invitation to the event.
Apple (AAPL) declined to comment.
Cook has been bipartisan in his fundraising activities so far this year. Last month, he held a fundraiser for Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan. The June 28 breakfast in Menlo Park, Calif. was co-hosted by Apple treasurer Gary Wipfler. Apple does not have a political action committee.

Up next, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, who spoke on the "myriad ways to scale" Learning and Employment Records (LERs), which Sec. Ross noted would be the highlight of today's meeting.
"While the LERs can certainly provide the American worker with a whole host of opportunities… it's just so important for us to continue to work toward immediate successes right now"
"States have to be those models, working with those model employers on" prioritizing "skills-based hiring practices…"
Following a video from Dept. of Commerce, IBM executive chairman Ginni Rometty, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon, and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff also spoke.
Rometty discussed the blockchain "Learning Credential Network" used by several Western universities. She noted how blockchain allows the connection of multiple bodies via a "skills-first approach" - She also cued a video breaking down how the pilot program lets state cybersecurity workers categorize, log, and share their credentials.
Benioff, who addressed the board virtually, outlined a Salesforce project meant to streamline frontline nursing resources: "Even as we confront today's challenges, we remain incredibly optimistic…"
… "reflects the fact that this is a time for everyone to develop new skills, re-skill…"
Benioff noted in particular Salesforce's work to train contact tracers throughout the pandemic.
"Business is the greatest platform for change…"
McMillon spoke on a joint initiative with IBM, LinkedIn and others that takes three retail roles, mapped the skills required, and worked with a tech team to share the credentials.
"This is a crucial enabler for the longtime viability of these projects…"
Pool was escorted out at 2:32 pm, but the meeting is still ongoing

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Donald Trump is preparing to direct the federal government to overhaul its hiring to prioritize a job applicant's skills over a college degree, administration and industry officials say.
Trump is set to sign an executive order Friday outlining a new direction for the nation's largest employer during a meeting of the board that advises the administration on worker policy.
Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter and adviser, is co-chair of the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board and has worked on improving job training to meet employers' changing needs.
The federal government is the nation's largest employer with 2.1 million civilian workers, excluding postal service employees.
Ivanka Trump predicted the change in federal government hiring would create a more inclusive and talented workforce. She encouraged the private sector to follow the administration's lead.
"We are modernizing federal hiring to find candidates with the relevant competencies and knowledge, rather than simply recruiting based on degree requirements," she told The Associated Press in a statement. "We encourage employers everywhere to take a look at their hiring practices and think critically about how initiatives like these can help diversify and strengthen their workforce."
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, the board's other co-chair, said the need for skills training and apprenticeships is as great as it was before the coronavirus pandemic forced millions of people out of work, pushing the national unemployment rate above 13% in May.
"Americans are eager to get to work but they need our help," Ross told AP.
The White House isn't eliminating degree requirements altogether but instead will stress skills in jobs where having a degree is less important.
Aides say the change will create more opportunities for Americans to work for the federal government by recognizing that some learning happens outside of classrooms.
Ivanka Trump and other administration officials have pushed to increase opportunities for apprenticeships and have promoted such training and vocational education as alternatives to traditional two-year or four-year college degree programs.
The Office of Personnel Management will be responsible for implementing the president's order.
IBM is among the companies that have moved in this direction. Last year, 15% of its new U.S. hires had nontraditional backgrounds because they were evaluated based on skills instead of looking only at their degrees, Ginni Rometty, the company's executive chairman, said via the White House.
"We hired from new areas of the country, including under-served communities, and this promoted more diversity in the applications we received," said Rometty, who is expected to participate in Friday's meeting.
At the meeting, the workforce advisory board is also expected to announce details of a private-sector ad campaign led by Apple, IBM and the nonprofit Ad Council to promote alternate pathways to education.

Why Did Hundreds Of CEOs Resign Just Before The World Started Going Absolutely Crazy?
In the months prior to the most ferocious stock market crash in history and the eruption of the biggest public health crisis of our generation, we witnessed the biggest exodus of corporate CEOs that we have ever seen. And as you will see below, corporate insiders also sold off billions of dollars worth of shares in their own companies just before the stock market imploded. In life, timing can be everything, and sometimes people simply get lucky. But it does seem odd that so many among the corporate elite would be so exceedingly "lucky" all at the same time. In this article I am not claiming to know the motivations of any of these individuals, but I am pointing out certain patterns that I believe are worth investigating.
One financial publication is using the phrase "the great CEO exodus" to describe the phenomenon that we have been witnessing. It all started last year when chief executives started resigning in numbers unlike anything that we have ever seen before. The following was published by NBC News last November...
Chief executives are leaving in record numbers this year, with more than 1,332 stepping aside in the period from January through the end of October, according to new data released on Wednesday. While it's not unusual to see CEOs fleeing in the middle of a recession, it is noteworthy to see such a rash of executive exits amid robust corporate earnings and record stock market highs.
Last month, 172 chief executives left their jobs, according to executive placement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas. It's the highest monthly number on record, and the year-to-date total outpaces even the wave of executive exits during the financial crisis.
By the end of the year, an all-time record high 1,480 CEOs had left their posts.
But to most people it seemed like the good times were still rolling at the end of 2019. Corporate profits were rising and the stock market was setting record high after record high.
Yes, there were lots of signs that the global economy was really slowing down, but most experts were not forecasting an imminent recession.
So why did so many chief executives suddenly decide that it was time to move on?
The following are just a few of the big name CEOs that chose to step down in 2019...
Dennis Muilenburg - Boeing
United Airlines - Oscar Munoz
Alphabet - Larry Page
Gap - Art Peck
McDonald's - Steve Easterbrook
Wells Fargo - Tim Sloan
Under Armour - Kevin Plank
PG&E - Geisha Williams
Kraft Heinz - Bernardo Hees
HP - Dion Weisler
Bed, Bath & Beyond - Steven Temares
Warner Bros. - Kevin Tsujihara
Best Buy - Hubert Joly
New York Post - Jesse Angelo
Colgate-Palmolive - Ian Cook
MetLife - Steven Kandarian
eBay - Devin Wenig
Nike - Mark Parker
Of course the mass exodus of chief executives did not end there.
In fact, a whopping 219 CEOs stepped down during the month of January 2020 alone.
By then, it was starting to become clear that the coronavirus that was ripping through China could potentially become a major global pandemic, and I certainly can understand why many among the corporate elite would choose to abandon ship at that moment.
Some of these CEOs have made absolutely absurd salaries for many years, and it is much easier to take the money and run than it is to stick around and steer a major corporation through the most difficult global crisis that any of us have ever experienced.
The following are just a few of the well known CEOs that have resigned so far in 2020...
Bob Iger, CEO of Disney
Ginni Rometty, CEO of IBM
Harley-Davidson CEO Matt Levatich
T-Mobile's CEO John Legere
LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner
Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga
Keith Block, co-CEO of Salesforce
Tidjane Thiam, CEO of Credit Suisse
Hulu CEO Randy Freer
It is important for me to say that I do not have any special insight into the personal motivations of any of these individuals, and every situation is different.
But I do think that it is quite strange that we have seen such an unprecedented corporate exodus at such a critical moment in our history.

CEO Step Down 2020 Watch List:
Disney, IBM, Microsoft, Hulu, L Brands (Victoria's Secret), Harley Davidson, and more.
Mandy Ginsberg, the CEO of the company that oversees Tinder, Hinge, OKCupid, and Match, announced on January 28 that she's stepping down after 14 years, citing personal reasons.
Disney said on January 31 that Hulu CEO Randy Freer would be departing, with no direct replacement and company leaders reporting to Disney's Kevin Mayer. In late February, Hulu's Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Campbell was promoted to president of Hulu.
Les Wexner, CEO of L Brands, a retail company that includes Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works, stepped down on February 20 after almost 60 years. He was the longest-tenured CEO of any Fortune 500 company at the time.
Keith Block, co-CEO of Salesforce, left the position on February 25, which surprised industry watchers, who thought Block might eventually take over from founder Marc Benioff as sole CEO.
Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, stepped down on February 25. He had held the role since 2005 and renewed his contract in 2017.
Harley-Davidson CEO Matt Levatich resigned on February 28 following years of decreasing demand for motorcycles.
Ginni Rometty, CEO of IBM, is departing in April after eight years of leading the company through a difficult transition period.
Although it was announced in 2019, T-Mobile's CEO John Legere is scheduled to step down in May 2020. During his 7-year run, T-Mobile's share price increased from $12 to nearly $80.
LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner is stepping down in June after 11 years of running the company.
Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga is set to step down in early 2021 after more than a decade running the company.

IBM Lies to Trump While Selling Out to China
by MYTHEOS HOLT
January 26, 2017
https://spectator.org/ibm-lies-to-trump-while-selling-out-to-china/
Near the tail end of last year, President Trump (then only President-elect Trump) seemed to have made some headway with the formerly recalcitrant tech industry. Along with an apparently successful meeting with tech executives, the new president had received assurances of cooperation with his plan to reclaim American jobs from those very executives.
The most visible such assurance came shortly after the president's election, in the form of a letter from IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, who promised to expand hiring by 25,000 over the next four years. Along with this, Rometty also offered Trump a great heaping of unsolicited (and unhelpful) advice on how to create "new collar" jobs. (Spoiler alert: it involved selling out American workers to their new would-be tech masters.) Further, the company's already documented friendliness with China, the geopolitical rival most often at loggerheads with the new president, remained a very live concern.
Given all this, there was ample reason for Trump to be skeptical of IBM's promises, and to ignore their disingenuous suggestions. Nevertheless, an optimistic observer could have suggested that perhaps IBM was sincere and that, in any event, Trump should give them a chance to live up to their promises.
We now know how utterly empty those promises actually were. On Trump's first Monday in office, Bloomberg and the San Jose Mercury News reported that, far from its promises of expanding employment by 25,000, IBM has actually gone on a firing spree. Indeed, according to the IBM employees quoted, the open letter from Rometty was only ever a bit of smarmy corporate PR intended to cover up the fact that IBM was planning on shipping far more jobs overseas than it had any plans of creating at home. Per Bloomberg:
Rometty's hiring pledge prompted current and former IBM workers to vent on message boards and Facebook groups. Some complained that the new recruiting drive wouldn't offset jobs sent overseas in recent years. Others said Rometty had neglected to mention whether and how many people would be fired in the meantime. Some urged online communities to contact the Trump transition team and educate his aides about IBM's history of layoffs and outsourcing.
"Ginni Rometty is terminating thousands of IT workers and touting herself as some hero who's out to hire 25,000 workers," says Sara Blackwell, a Sarasota, Florida-based lawyer and advocate for Protect U.S. Workers, who represents about 100 IBM ex-employees who have filed discrimination and other complaints. "To me, that's hypocritical."
Ah, what a devilish thing fine print can be!
In reality, there was no reason to suspect that IBM would do anything else. The success of their stock in recent years has come almost entirely from not merely ignoring American interests, but arguably from acting against them. Nowhere has this been more true than China, where former Chinese officials have openly touted IBM's perverse willingness to practically give away their own technology to the Chinese government in exchange for fleeting access to the Chinese market. Never mind that, thanks to IBM's help, those same officials gleefully gloat about their ability to create "a domestic tech industry that in the long run will no longer need to buy American products." Rometty will likely have her golden parachute and speaking spot at Davos nailed down by the time that "long run" comes around.
President Trump has yet to weigh in on this particular betrayal, though he obviously should. The president's inaugural address stressed that his administration will follow the simple dicta that one should "buy American" and "hire American." IBM is ensuring that China will not follow the former while openly thumbing their nose at the latter. Trump obviously prefers a dual carrot and stick approach to keeping industries at home, and for that he deserves commendation. But in the case of IBM, it may be more appropriate, to paraphrase the words of the man whose bust now adorns Trump's oval office, Teddy Roosevelt, to tweet loudly and wield a big stick.

Plutocrats Unite: Big Tech, Business Lobby, Outsourcers Demand Amnesty
Executives from the country's largest tech conglomerates, the big business lobby, and multinational corporations synonymous with outsourcing American jobs are demanding Congress pass the latest Democrat plan giving amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.
A new plan by House Democrats known as the "Dream and Protection Act" gives amnesty to nearly three million illegal aliens who are eligible and enrolled in former President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
Aside from the nearly three million DACA-enrolled and DACA-eligible illegal aliens who would be able to permanently stay in the U.S. - providing a flooded market with lower wages for the business lobby - the amnesty would be extended to the nearly 500,000 foreign nationals who are currently living in the country on Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Outsourced U.S. Workers Feel Trump White House 'Pushed Aside' Concerns
After President Trump sent a tweet endorsing the outsourcing of American jobs to foreign workers, Protect U.S. Workers attorney and Trump rallier Sara Blackwell said she cried.
"We endorsed him, he said exactly the opposite of what that tweet says," Blackwell exclusively told Breitbart News. "So that was so utterly disappointing, it made me cry."
The tweet took outsourced American workers who put their faith in Trump's economic nationalist agenda off guard. They have yet to see major wins from the administration on the issue, but remained hopeful that the president was on their side of the issue, not on the side of tech plutocrats like Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and outsourcing billionaires such as IBM's Ginni Rometty.
Just months before, Trump's United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency described a plan to reduce the outsourcing of American jobs to foreign workers through the H-1B visa program.
Every year, more than 100,000 foreign workers are brought to the U.S. on the H-1B visa and allowed to stay for up to six years. There are about 650,000 H-1B visa foreign workers in the U.S. at any given moment. Americans are often laid off in the process and forced to train their foreign replacements, as highlighted by Breitbart News. More than 85,000 Americans a year potentially lose their jobs to foreign labor through the H-1B visa program.
Trump's tweet, though, reversed his "Buy American, Hire American" anti-outsourcing stance, instead endorsing a "pathway to citizenship" for H-1B foreign workers and writing that he wants to "encourage" foreign workers to come to the U.S. to take American jobs.
While American worker advocates have blasted the tweet, they acknowledge it is somewhat of an inevitable outcome from an administration that they say has shunned its populist-nationalist supporters.
"We've been silenced a lot since President Trump has actually taken over the White House," Blackwell contends.
When it has come to staffing, a few allies of Trump's immigration and economic nationalist agenda have told Breitbart News that they have attempted to get jobs in the administration but ultimately failed.
Expert John Miano, who has written extensively on the abuses of the H-1B visa program at the expense of American workers, called Trump's pro-outsourcing tweet "incoherent" and said, "all the folks that got him elected" have been "pushed aside."
Jay Palmer - a visa fraud expert and whistleblower against Indian outsourcing firm Infosys - questioned whether senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller was supportive of the pro-outsourcing plan outlined by the president in the tweet.
"If [Miller] is [supportive of this plan] it is disturbing after all the time and information I have provided to educate him over the years," Palmer told Breitbart News.
Miller, nonetheless, remains one of only two champions that the outsourced American workers see in the Trump administration.

The Q System

The Q System One has a modular design and parts designed to minimize interference. IBM's plan is to start scaling quantum computational center.
Larry Dignan
By Larry Dignan| January 8, 2019 – 05:01 GMT (21:01 PST)| Topic: Data Centers
IBM has launched an integrated system for quantum computing designed for scientists and businesses called IBM Q System One.
With IBM CEO Ginni Rometty delivering a keynote at CES, Big Blue is using the conference to highlight its research and development chops and the ability to commercialize new technologies. IBM has been among the forerunners in quantum computing. Quantum computing promises to advance a whole new paradigm beyond traditional computers. The problem with quantum computing is that it needs developers to create applications for qubits, a continuous cold environment and new hardware architectures.
Those challenges for quantum computing mean that its use will most likely be delivered via an as-a-service or cloud model. While quantum computing may be deployed in enterprise data centers at some point, the returns on investment would be tricky given the immaturity of the market. Sutor noted that "everything is cloud based so far" when it comes to quantum computing.

White House to Host Google CEO Amid Cloud of Concerns over Company's Silencing of Conservatives
Google CEO Sundar Pichai will appear at the White House on Thursday alongside other Silicon Valley leaders as a cloud of suspicion hangs over his company in the wake of several reports in recent months of bias against conservatives and specifically supporters of President Donald Trump.
According to the Associated Press, Pichai will join top executives from other tech giants like Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, and Qualcomm.
"The White House says the Thursday meeting will address efforts to advance American leadership in innovation and how that will affect jobs, industries and the economy," the AP reported. "Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, Oracle co-CEO Safra Catz and Qualcomm CEO Steven Mollenkopf are among the expected attendees."
At this stage, it is unclear if President Trump himself will join the meeting-or if the tech executives will meet with others on his behalf. It also remains unclear if the White House, or Trump himself, will press Pichai-as the CEO of Google-on efforts to suppress conservatives particularly Trump's supporters in the wake of his electoral victory in 2016. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, has not replied to a request for comment on whether the White House will press Google on this matter.
But in recent months a series of reports have emerged that demonstrate that at least some at Google have sought to-with official company resources-wipe out conservatives and Trump supporters.
For instance, in September, Breitbart News uncovered an hourlong internal Google company meeting video in which executives at the company expressed their dismay with the election of President Trump. The meeting, which happened in the immediate aftermath of the 2016 presidential election, was the company's first meeting after Trump's win.
In the explosive video, several top company executives-including Pichai, who is heading to the White House to represent the company on Thursday-are seen and heard bashing Trump and his supporters and discussing use of official company resources and new emerging technology to ensure that the result of the 2016 election is not repeated. As Breitbart News' Allum Bokhari reported back in September:
Co-founder Sergey Brin can be heard comparing Trump supporters to fascists and extremists. Brin argues that like other extremists, Trump voters were motivated by "boredom," which he says in the past led to fascism and communism.
The Google co-founder then asks his company to consider what it can do to ensure a "better quality of governance and decision-making."
VP for Global Affairs Kent Walker argues that supporters of populist causes like the Trump campaign are motivated by "fear, xenophobia, hatred, and a desire for answers that may or may not be there."
Later, Walker says that Google should fight to ensure the populist movement - not just in the U.S. but around the world - is merely a "blip" and a "hiccup" in a historical arc that "bends toward progress."
CEO Sundar Pichai states that the company will develop machine learning and A.I. to combat what an employee described as "misinformation" shared by "low-information voters."

Think logically.
The only thing that explains the INSANE behavior of the Main Stream Media (MSM) and Social Media Giants (SMG) is this…
Trump has already quietly met with most of these MSM/SMG traitors and shown them evidence of their treason punishable by death. They have been instructed to continue to act like total idiots to make Patriots hate them and Liberals love them.
Why? At just the right moment when the arrests begin, the ONLY way to calm down the Left will be if the MSM/SMG traitors suddenly and unexpectedly change their tone to 100% Pro Trump Truth.
I know, I know. Not possible. Wrong. It is actually probable. Let's look at the facts.

Apple, IBM, and Google Don't Care Anymore if You Went to College
By Corinne Purtill,
Quartz
August 23, 2018
Companies will hire the candidates whose experience and skills best suit them for the job.
Recently, the job review site Glassdoor compiled a list of 15 different companies [SEE LINK BELOW] that don't require job applicants to have college degrees. The list includes high-paying tech outlets like Apple, Google, and IBM, in addition to service-oriented companies like Costco, Starbucks, and Chipotle.
Abandoning the four-year degree as a qualification might feel like a dramatic break from hiring orthodoxy. But in some ways, it's more surprising that so many companies still insist upon a degree in the first place.
"Academic qualifications will still be taken into account and indeed remain an important consideration when assessing candidates as a whole, but will no longer act as a barrier to getting a foot in the door," Maggie Stilwell, Ernst and Young's managing partner for talent, told the Huffington Post when that company dropped the requirement.
In other words: Companies will hire the candidates whose experience and skills best suit them for the job. Many of those successful applicants will have university degrees. Some of them will not.
Google acknowledged several years ago that college transcripts and test scores are worthless predictors of later job performance. (The only exceptions were very recent graduates, and even then the correlation was weak.) At IBM, where roughly 15% of new hires in the U.S. don't have college degrees, CEO Ginni Rometty has said that vocational courses and on-the-job experience offer more relevant training for many tech sector positions than a four-year college degree.
It's not that college degrees are useless. For many people, university is the place where they acquire skills employers value. But automatically discounting people who earn that same knowledge through a different path can be counterproductive.
Which hypothetical resume offers a more convincing case for a candidate's work ethic or motivation: one from a recent college graduate who majored in computer science, or that of a self-taught coder who acquired those same skills while also managing full-time employment? What a person knows is more important that how they learned it.

What we know
Last month, Washington banned U.S. chip makers from selling to ZTE, a Chinese telecom, and maker of smartphones, for seven years for their supposed breach of sanctions against North Korea and Iran.
4/24/18 - At the state dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron, (((Apple))) CEO Tim Cook sat one seat away from Trump.
Cook and Apple VP (and former EPA administrator) Lisa Jackson were among those at last night's White House state dinner. Also on the guest list, per CNN, were IBM chief Ginni Rometty and Lockheed Martin CEO Marillyn Hewson.
4/25/18 - Cook and President Trump had a closed-door meeting at the White House. They discussed building factories in the United States, (((China))), and tax reform.
These discussions were NOT only about economics and trade wars.
5/2/18 - Cook: "China and the U.S. have this unavoidable mutuality where China only wins if the U.S. wins and the U.S. only wins if China wins and the world only wins if China and the U.S. win," Cook said in Apple's earnings call on Tuesday. "I think history shows us that countries that embrace openness and diversity do much, much better than the ones that are closed."
Washington officials led by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin head to Beijing to discuss trade.

More than 100 business leaders signed a letter to the US Congress on Wednesday insisting that lawmakers promptly pass a law to protect Dreamers.
The letter was signed by a who's who of tech leaders including IBM CEO Ginni Rometty - who has been fervently championing this cause; Apple CEO Tim Cook; Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg; Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos; and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
A few from outside of tech also signed the letter such as Marriott CEO Arne Sorenson, Target CEO Brian Cornell and Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky.
It is critical that Congress act to pass legislation before January 19th. This window of action leaves only 45 days for implementation prior to March 5th. As a bipartisan group of former DHS secretaries recently wrote, it will take time for the agency to implement any program outlined by Congress, underscoring the absolute urgency of the January 19th deadline. In addition to causing a tremendous upheaval in the lives of DACA employees, failure to act in time will lead to businesses losing valuable talent, cause disruptions in the workforce, and will result in significant costs.
…
Studies by economists across the ideological spectrum have also determined that if Congress fails to act our economy could lose $215 billion in GDP

ONCE and 4 all: Here is list and names of all people who attended and gave a speech or received an award. SOROS is NOWHERE mentioned or on any list!!!!!!
The World Economic Forum's (WEF) 48th annual meeting is coming to Davos, Switzerland next week. Here are the Davos attendees 2018.
The WEF's organisers are expecting a record number of leaders from G7 economies to attend, along with many other heads of state, leaders of government and international organisations, and business, civil society, academia, the arts and media, with some 400 sessions planned.
US president Donald Trump caused a stir when his administration revealed earlier this month he would be attending - while German chancellor Angela Merkel might also be there, potentially setting up a showdown between Trump and the world's globalist political establishment.
Read more: These are the biggest risks facing the world in 2018 according to the WEF
This year's opening address will be delivered by India's prime minister Narendra Modi, with Trump expected to deliver a keynote address before the close of the meeting.
Over 21 percent of participants at this year's meeting will be women, a higher proportion than at any previous meeting and the event will be chaired by seven women - the first all-female panel in its history.
The WEF 2018's all female co-chairs are: Sharan Burrow, general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation; Fabiola Gianotti, European Organization for Nuclear Research's (CERN) general director; Isabelle Kocher, chief executive at Engie; Christine Lagarde, the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) general director, Ginni Rometty IBM chief executive, Chetna Sinha, founder of the Mann Deshi Foundation, and Erna Solberg, prime minister of Norway.

Other leaders from the G20 include Liu He, general director of CPC Central Committee of the People's Republic of China; Mauricio Macri, president of Argentina, Cyril Ramaphosa, deputy president of South Africa; Michel Temer, president of Brazil, and Alain Berset, president of the Swiss Confederation.
The recipients of the World Economic Forum's 24th Annual Crystal Awards are the actress Cate Blanchett, singer Elton John, and actor Shah Rukh Khan. The awards - presented on the evening of 22 January - celebrate artists who have "shown commitment to improving the state of the world".
The theme for this year's Davos meeting is Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World.
