ATexas nurse was convicted Tuesday of capital murder in the deaths of four patients who died after prosecutors say he injected them with air following heart surgeries.
The Smith County jury deliberated for about an hour before finding William George Davis, of Hallsville, guilty of capital murder involving multiple victims. Prosecutors planned to seek the death penalty during the sentencing phase, which was scheduled to start Wednesday.

Davis, 37, was accused of injecting air into the four patients' arteries after they underwent heart surgery at the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler in 2017 and 2018. During recovery from their surgeries, the four - John Lafferty, Ronald Clark, Christopher Greenway, and Joseph Kalina - suffered unexplained neurological problems and died.
During the trial, Dr. William Yarbrough, a Dallas-area pulmonologist and professor of internal medicine, explained to the jury how injecting air into the arterial system of the brain causes brain injury and death.
Yarbrough said he was able to determine there was air in the arterial system of the victims' brains by viewing images from brain scans - something he said he had never before observed in his decades in medicine.
He ruled out blood pressure problems or any other causes of death besides the injection of air and said it must have happened after the surgeries because the complications occurred while the patients were in recovery.
Defense attorney Phillip Hayes told the jury that the hospital had issues and that Davis was a scapegoat who was only charged because he was there when the deaths occurred.
Prosecutor Chris Gatewood said during closing arguments that Davis "liked to kill people." And prosecutor Jacob Putman said the hospital hadn't changed any of its procedures and hadn't had any similar incidents since Davis left.

Intel Released Earnings Early Because Hacker "Stole Financially Sensitive Information" From Its Website
Something unexpected happened at exactly 3:47pm this afternoon: that's when wire services like Bloomberg reported Intel's Q4 financial results, some 13 minutes ahead of the scheduled release time.
Some speculated that the early release was a fat finger from an overzealous intern who sent the news to Businesswire a few minutes early. Others, such as us, joked that Intel just couldn't contain its excitement at the impressive earnings report which sent the formerly beaten down stock surging to its June highs.
Turns out it was neither, because according to the FT, Intel said it was the victim of a hacker who stole financially sensitive information from its corporate website on Thursday, prompting the company to release its earnings statement ahead of schedule.
CFO George Davis told the Financial Times that the chipmaker believed an attacker had obtained advanced details about a strong earnings report it was due to publish after the market closed; upon discovery of the problem, Intel published its formal earnings announcement with the official release coming out six minutes before the market closed.
"An infographic was hacked off of our PR newsroom site," Mr Davis said. "We put [our earnings] out as soon as we were aware."
The CFO said that the leak was the result of an illicit action that had not involved any unintentional disclosure by the company itself.
An Intel spokesperson added: "We were notified that our infographic was circulating outside the company. I do not believe it was published. We are continuing to investigate this matter."
Actually it was published, and are speculating, it appears that the reason Bloomberg managed to report the company's results even before the 6 minute early release is because it managed to scrape the hacked Intel's inforgraphic at 348pm, which laid out the company's key highlights.

Taub attended a Montana Rainbow Gathering, where she met Jamyz Smith, who was 20 at the time and came from Jackson, Missouri.[4] The two were engaged in Berkeley, California and married via a nude wedding protest at City Hall on December 19, 2013.[4] In June 2015, Time magazine listed it as one of "The 17 Most Intriguing Weddings of All Time."[7]
In early 2014, Taub and Smith staged for a photoshoot of a featured picture of a story about San Francisco in New York magazine.[8] It depicts the two standing naked in line about to ride a Google Bus.[8] Taub recalled the drivers having "mixed reactions. They were mostly scared," and the ones riding the bus "quite uptight" and "uncomfortable."[8] Jessica Powell, Google's vice president for product and corporate communications, responded by saying there should be "no nudes on the bus. It might interfere with the Wi-Fi."[8]
As of 2015, Taub and Smith are separated, Taub saying, "He's going through a really dark stage in his life. He was raised around Bible-thumping people. Everybody was cooking their own meth and abusing their kids, prostituting their kids. He went back to Missouri to take care of some things."[4]
On September 13, 2017, Berkeley City Council held a meeting about a proposal by the Topfreedom campaign "Free the Nipple" to allow woman to go topless in public, with Taub attending.[9] Officials of the council postponed a decision of the proposal, because one of them, Sophie Hahn, felt it wasn't a very important issue in the city right now, and even if it was, men would have to cover up their nipples too.Cite error: The opening tag is malformed or has a bad name (see the help page). By the time the meeting ended, Taub protested the decision
Advocating style
As Lybarger claimed, Taub was notable for her "ruthless firebrand energy or theatricality" when advocating for naturism rights,[5] which garnered mixed reactions from those in the movement. One of the advocators, George Davis, said she is "bright, creative, and energetic" but also "very argumentative, and there's a question about her focus."[5] Rusty Mills said she was "good for the movement" but also criticized her "very belligerent" attitude.[5]
Personnel life
Since 2009, Taub lived with Smith in a Victorian flat in Berkeley and was still living there as of December 2013.[1] She has three children, a daughter, Inti Gonzalez (born c. 2000), and two sons, Daniel Gonzalez (born c. 2005) and Nebosvodop Gonzalez (born c. 2003).[1] She follows a diet of eating organic fruits and vegetables, yoga, and running to stay healthy.[1] Taub said in a 2012 interview that she takes her children to events like the Burning Man and Rainbow Gathering because "they can grow not being ashamed of their bodies."[10]
