No worries, Anon
In their chapter in the Oxford Textbook of Clinical Research Ethics in 2008, Ezekiel J. Emanuel and Christine Grady described four paradigms of biomedical research ethics in a historical overview of the past 80 years of clinical research and research oversight, mostly in the United States of America.1 In this article, I use their defined consecutive, but overlapping paradigms as a model to describe the main developments and events in the same field in Iran through the past decades.
…..
The fourth period began from the mid-1990s. Triggered by genetic research among Ashkenazi Jews and aboriginal communities, and international HIV/AIDS research, put forth 'host community collaboration' as the key protection of research subjects, recognizing subjects as 'active participants in the research enterprise'. Accordingly, the underlying philosophy of research oversight and the highlighted ethical principle transformed to communitarianism and 'collaborative partnership', respectively.2

Letter of Support for Anthony Fauci
A statement from the scientific and public health communities to the American public in support of Dr. Anthony Fauci
Dr. Anthony Fauci has served the USA with wisdom and integrity for nearly 40 years. Through HIV, Ebola, and now COVID, he has unswervingly served the United States guiding the country to very successful outcomes. He has our unreserved respect and trust as a scientist and a national leader.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Fauci has provided the American political leadership and the public with sagacious counsel in these most difficult of times. His advice has been as well informed as data and the rapidly evolving circumstances allowed. And importantly, he has given his advice with humility, being clear about what we know and what is unknown, but requires judgment. He has consistently emphasized the importance of mask-wearing, social distancing and vaccination. These are standard and necessary public health measures that we all support.
Scientists can and do express dissenting viewpoints, but a right to an opinion does not mean the opinion is right. We are grateful that Dr. Fauci has consistently stated the science in a way that represents the facts as they emerge, without unwarranted speculation.
Sadly, in these politically polarized times where misinformation contaminates the United States' response to the pandemic, routine public health measures have become unnecessarily controversial, undermining the effectiveness of our country's response.
We deplore the personal attacks on Dr. Fauci. The criticism is inaccurate, unscientific, ill-founded in the facts and, increasingly, motivated by partisan politics. It is a distraction from what should be the national focus - working together to finally overcome a pandemic that is killing about 500,000 people a year. We are grateful for Dr. Fauci's dedication and tireless efforts to help the country through this pandemic and other health crises.

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the head of Endeavor Ari Emanuel, has been hired by NBC News and MSNBC as a medical contributor, a network spokesperson announced.

From January 2009 to January 2011, Dr. Emanuel served as a Special Advisor on Health Policy to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget and National Economic Council. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/joe-biden-coronavirus-adviser-Ezekiel-Emanuel-wants-to-die-at-75/
The bioethicist Ezekiel Emanuel - a prime architect of Obamacare - is the most famous person on the committee. Why is that important? Emanuel made headlines a few years ago by writing in The Atlantic that he wants to die at age 75 - younger than Joe Biden is today - and he thinks we should want that too. From his piece:
Here is a simple truth that many of us seem to resist: living too long is also a loss. It renders many of us, if not disabled, then faltering and declining, a state that may not be worse than death but is nonetheless deprived. It robs us of our creativity and ability to contribute to work, society, the world. It transforms how people experience us, relate to us, and, most important, remember us. We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.

Does Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel believe Joe Biden would be better off dead?
That would be a peculiar position for Biden's chief adviser on medical issues and a member of the candidate's Public Health Advisory Committee to take. But if we accept the reasoning behind Emanuel's infamous 2014 essay, Biden is nothing more than a resource-sucking shell of himself who should stop trying to prolong his life.
I suspect that if one of Trump's advisers on coronavirus had once taken to the august pages of The Atlantic to reason that men who reach the age of 75 are useless to society, the press would be vigorously exploring and amplifying his position. Reporters have rarely bothered to bring it up with Emanuel, who is constantly on TV - or with Biden, who is now "sheltered in place" and trying to prolong his life.

Former UK prime minister calls for coronavirus digital IDs to prove 'disease status'
'Unless you're able to record some of this data in a way that people can use it's going to be difficult to go back to anything like a near normal in things like transport,' said Tony Blair.
UNITED KINGDOM, June 11, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) - Former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair has called for the creation of digital IDs to track "disease status" as part of the plans for restarting international travel after the global coronavirus crisis.
Blair, who now leads the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, said in a recorded message digital IDs were a "natural evolution of the way that we're going to use technology in any event to transact daily life, and this covid crisis gives an additional reason for doing that."
"I could be wrong about this, but when I can look at for example how you restart some businesses, how you restart international travel...I think people's disease status, for example have they been tested? What is the result of that test? Have they had the disease? Do they have the disease? I think unless you're able to record some of this data in a way that people can use it's going to be difficult to go back to anything like a near normal in things like transport," Blair said.
An article published in Forbes last month said that future air travel could involve "no cabin bags, no lounges, no automatic upgrades, face masks, surgical gloves, self-check-in, self-bag-drop-off, immunity passports, on-the-spot blood tests and sanitation disinfection tunnels."
"Digital technologies and automation will play a critical role in the future of air travel," Forbes predicted.
"The need to reduce 'touchpoints' at airports implies mandatory use of biometric boarding that allows passengers to board planes with only their face as a passport."
The Forbes article noted that a number of airlines including British Airways, Qantas, and EasyJet are already using the technology.
Earlier this week an article published in The Guardian warned that proof of immunity to the coronavirus could be used to create "a new class system."
"Experts predict that if [coronavirus] survivors are found to be immune, they could perform a range of jobs and services - such as volunteering in hospitals and nursing homes, caring for coronavirus patients and working in shops and food processing plants - risk-free," journalist Miranda Bryant wrote.
"And, depending on how authorities, business and society at large respond, they could also be entitled to greater freedoms."
Bryant pointed to Chile issuing "release certificates" to people who "complete quarantine after testing positive" for the coronavirus and comments from Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Ezekiel J Emanuel supporting the idea of immunity "certificates" or "passports."
Emanuel is advising former Vice President and 2020 candidate Joe Biden. Fauci has been director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for decades and is one of the top people leading President Donald Trump's coronavirus response.

Background
Ari (right) participating in a forum alongside his brother Rahm (left)
Born to a Jewish family[2] in Chicago, Emanuel was raised in suburban Wilmette, Illinois. Emanuel is the brother of former White House Chief of Staff and current Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel, National Institutes of Health bioethicist Ezekiel J. Emanuel, and adopted sister Shoshana Emanuel. His father, Jerusalem-born Dr. Benjamin M. Emanuel, is a pediatrician who was active in the Irgun, a hardline Zionist militant group whose activities in Mandatory Palestine during the 1930s and 1940s led to its listing as a terrorist organization by the British authorities, the Jewish Agency and the 1946 Zionist Congress.[3][4][5] His mother, Marsha Emanuel (née Smulevitz), was a civil rights activist, and the one-time owner of a Chicago-area rock and roll club.[6] As a child, Ari was diagnosed as both hyperactive and dyslexic, and his mother spent many hours helping him to learn to read.[6] He is a graduate of New Trier High School and of Macalester College in St Paul, Minnesota, where he was roommates with director Peter Berg.
Emanuel is married to Sarah Hardwick Addington; they have three sons.[6][7]
Career
Prior to founding Endeavor, Emanuel was a partner at InterTalent and senior agent at ICM Partners (ICM).[6] He began his entertainment industry career as an agent trainee at Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
Emanuel has been described as a "21st century Hollywood mogul" and "the pre-eminent power player" in Hollywood.[8][9] Emanuel and WME co-CEO Patrick Whitesell have been characterized as "rewriting the Hollywood script", and they have both been named to Fortune's Businessperson of the Year list.[10][11] In a May 2013 article on Emanuel, Fortune called him "one of the biggest guns in the consolidating entertainment business".[12]
Emanuel's relationships with his clients, coupled with his stature in the industry, has led to various homages and parodies over the years, including Bob Odenkirk's character Stevie Grant on The Larry Sanders Show, and Ari Gold, played by Jeremy Piven on the HBO television show Entourage.[13] In 2011, Emanuel co-founded TheAudience with Sean Parker and Oliver Luckett.[14]
Ariel Emanuel has served as a member of Live Nation Entertainment board of directors since September 2007.[15]
Public advocacy
Emanuel gained widespread media attention in July 2006 when he called on Hollywood to blacklist Mel Gibson because of Gibson's "anti-Semitic remarks" during his DUI arrest. Emanuel wrote, "People in the entertainment community, whether Jew or Gentile, need to demonstrate that they understand how much is at stake in this by professionally shunning Mel Gibson and refusing to work with him, even if it means a sacrifice to their bottom line."[16]
