According to the complaint, the FBI tracked the sale of the tool bag and timer used in the device to a Home Depot in Iron Mountain, Michigan, where surveillance footage revealed Mikulich making the purchase and driving away in a white Oldsmobile later found to be registered to him.
Although it was found February 26, the package was left unattended for weeks in a Detroit federal building, resulting in the suspension of the building security guard who found it, according to an official with knowledge of the case.
The guard placed it in a lost-and-found room before reporting it to police last week, according to David Wright, president of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 918, which represents the Federal Protective Service workers.
"For some unknown reason, the … private guard picked up the package and decided to X-ray it, and when they saw something that looked out of place, that's when they contacted the FPS," Wright said. "He did not follow protocol."
The building houses offices of the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies.

A Rundown Of Major U.S. Corporate Media's Business Ties To China
Turner Sports works directly with the NBA to broadcast games in China, meaning Zucker has ample business in the Middle Kingdom, where American businessmen seek to keep the CCP happy so the money keeps rolling.
Last week, CNN published a story praising China's "model of control." The Federalist's Kylee Zempel writes that CNN is "parroting Chinese media's duplicitous claims that the country sufficiently control of the virus, while downplaying the CCP's role in spreading COVID-19 to the rest of the world."
MSNBC & NBC
Both MSNBC and NBC News are operated by NBC Universal, a company with extensive financial ties to the CCP. In November 2010, NBC signed an agreement with China's state-run media organization, Xinhua, to establish a business cooperation in international broadcast news. This was the latest market expansion by the CCP into American media.
Since the signing of the business deal, the U.S. State Department identified Xinhua and five other Chinese state-run media organizations as "foreign missions." They have been identified as direct CCP operations and do not function as independent news outlets.
In 2015, NBC Universal agreed to license the Chinese tech company Baidu's new video network platform iQIYI, which is listed on the NASDAQ and, thanks to NBC, advertises in Times Square in New York City.
Finally, CMC Capital Partners-a Beijing investment group with financial and technological oversight from the CCP-acquired full ownership of NBC Universal's Oriental DreamWorks, according to the Hollywood Reporter. NBC Universal gained a 45 percent stake for a steep $3.8 billion.
ABC
The most obvious business ties between the American Broadcast Company (ABC) and China are through their ventures with Walt Disney and ESPN. Both companies have deep-rooted financial stakes in the Chinese economy controlled by the CCP.
In November 2009, the Chinese government approved plans to create a Disney World theme park in Shanghai. The project cost approximately $3.6 trillion, with financial help from several large Chinese state-owned enterprises. After construction was completed, Disney only retained 43 percent of the property, while the Communist Party-controlled Shanghai Shendi Group took the remaining 57 percent.
ESPN, another entity of ABC, was caught doing the bidding of the Chinese government in October 2019. When the NBA controversially refused to denounce the CCP for financial benefit, ESPN stood with the NBA to keep financial revenue on track for the 2019 fiscal year. ESPN bowed to the Chinese government for profit motives when the network's senior news director reportedly instructed staff to avoid discussing Chinese politics if they were asked about Chinese politics or Daryl Morey's pro-Hong Kong tweet.
According to Raleigh, American companies establish these financial ties with Chinese companies to gain access to China's massive consumer market of 1.4 billion people. ABC subsidiaries such as ESPN and ABC News need to appease the CCP, whether it be via positive news coverage or complying with cyber security laws, to keep their programs on Chinese screens and thus make money in the Chinese market.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, introduced legislation which cuts off Department of Defense assistance to any U.S. movie studio that allows China to censor their content. The bill is called the "Stopping Censorship, Restoring Integrity, Protecting Talkies," Act.
Hollywood films commonly work with the Pentagon and Defense Department to use American assets for props such as jets, tanks, and naval bases. Cruz's SCRIPT legislation would only allow the Defense Department to contract with companies that do not allow China to censor their content.
These same organizations work directly with ABC News abroad. According to veteran ABC correspondent David Wright, ABC and its affiliates are inextricably linked. In an investigative report by Project Veritas, Wright admitted ABC was a profit center, not a beacon of truthful journalism.
"[ABC] became a profit center, a promotion center. Like now, you can't watch 'Good Morning America' without there being a Disney princess or a Marvel Avenger appearing. It's all self-promotional and promotion of the company," Wright said.
What benefits ABC's company is bending a knee to the CCP in exchange for more money, despite the price it puts on journalist's ability to report truth and hold those in power to account.

Left-wing figures from celebrities to establishment media members attacked actor Ricky Schroder after it was revealed that he was among the many who helped post the $2 million bail to release Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old accused of fatally shooting two people in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Kenosha County Sheriff Sgt. David Wright affirmed Rittenhouse's release in a Friday statement. "Kyle Rittenhouse's bond was posted this afternoon at about 2 p.m., which was set up through his attorney," Wright said. "He is no longer in custody at the Kenosha County Jail."
One of Rittenhouse's attorneys, Lin Wood, provided the update in a tweet, thanking the Silver Spoons star by name.

Convicted ISIS Terrorist Out To Behead Pamela Geller, 'Kill Boys In Blue' Is Resentenced
BOSTON - An Everett man was re-sentenced yesterday to 30 years in prison for conspiring to murder U.S. citizens, including police officers, on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
David Daoud Wright, a/k/a Dawud Sharif Abdul Khaliq, a/k/a Dawud Sharif Abdul Khaliq, 31, of Everett, Mass., was re-sentenced by U.S. Senior District Court Judge Douglas P. Woodlock to 30 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release. In December 2017, Wright was sentenced to 28 years in prison after a federal jury convicted him of conspiracy to provide material support to ISIS, conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries, conspiracy to obstruct justice and obstruction of justice.
"Mr. Wright is a homegrown terrorist who plotted to kill innocent Americans on behalf of ISIS, including specifically targeting police officers," said United States Attorney Andrew E. Lelling. "He radicalized himself and others, pledged allegiance to a terrorist organization, and conspired with his now-deceased uncle to kill police officers with a combat knife. This case is a reminder of the persistent terrorism threat to our citizens and law enforcement officers."
"ISIS soldier David Wright betrayed his country and forfeited his freedom when he conspired with others to attack and murder innocent civilians and police officers in support of a sworn, barbaric enemy of the United States. This sentence ensures they remain worlds apart," said Joseph R. Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division. "Identifying and disrupting terrorist plots, both foreign and domestic, is the FBI's top priority, and the round-the-clock teamwork of our partners within our Massachusetts Joint Terrorism Task Force saved innocent lives, and kept Wright's endgame of martyrdom out of reach."
Beginning in at least February 2015, Wright began discussing ISIS' call to kill non-believers in the United States with his uncle, Usaamah Abdullah Rahim, and co-defendant Nicholas Alexander Rovinski. Specifically, Wright created a "martyrdom" operation cell in Massachusetts. In April 2015, Wright created a Twitter page for the "Lions of America" and published a document entitled, Internal Conquest, on the internet in which Wright called on Muslims living in the United States to kill their fellow citizens.
Wright also plotted with Rahim and Rovinski to behead U.S. citizens at the direction of ISIS, and identified a New York woman, (conservative blogger) Pam Geller, as the first beheading target. Rahim purchased three knives for this plot. In addition, Wright's ISIS cell was in direct communication with ISIS recruiter and attack facilitator, Junaid Hussain, who provided Rahim with an encrypted document containing details about the intended victim. In August 2015, Hussain was killed in an airstrike in Raqqah, Syria.
In preparation for their attack, Wright conducted extensive research on weapons, knives, machetes, bombing making components and methods to subdue their victims. Wright also conducted research on "what tranquilizer put humans to sleep instantly" and "how to start a secret militia in the United States."

Q Research General #12580: Maxwell Spied before Mossad Formed, Digg Deeper Edition
In an era of fake news, can we trust the MSM polls that show Trump badly trailing Biden in the race for the US presidency?
Consult just about any US media resource and a trend is quickly discernible: Donald Trump is sagging in popularity while his likely Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, soars like an eagle. Are these polls really to be believed?
Is there a conflict of interest greater than that of the US media conducting a public opinion poll on Donald J. Trump?
It appears to be a self-indulgent activity, a bit like climate change activists gathering opinions on the merits of air travel, for example, or a New York Yankees fan organizing a poll to determine who the best baseball player was, Babe Ruth or David Wright.
In other words, those asking the questions may be very tempted, in deference to their own prejudices, to get the answers they seek.
BIDEN LEADS NATIONALLY (by a long way)Biden: 49.5%Trump 40.3%The only good "internal polling numbers" Trump is getting are those generated inside his own mind!#Biden2020pic.twitter.com/OnOF5QX5B2

Perform a quick Google search on 'Trump poll numbers' and you will likely experience some deja vu. As in 2016, when the media showed Trump trailing far behind Hillary Clinton, the same media want us to believe that the presidential incumbent is now eating Joe Biden's dust on the road to the White House.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek downplays ABC News' scandals, 'pervasive anti-conservative bias'
New Disney CEO Bob Chapek was confronted by an investor about ongoing issues at ABC News on Wednesday, but the high-powered executive brushed off the criticism, and the investor then blasted him for having his "head in the sand when it comes to the pervasive anti-conservative bias across ABC News." Justin Danhof, the general counsel for the National Center for Public Policy Research, cited data showing ABC News is overwhelmingly negative toward President Trump and mentioned other scandals that have come out of the news division in recent memory when speaking to Chapek at the company's annual investor's meeting.
ABC News recently suspended veteran Washington correspondent David Wright for remarks he made that were captured on video by Project Veritas. The controversial Project Veritas is the same group that published footage of ABC anchor Amy Robach claiming ABC News executives killed a story that would have exposed the now-deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein three years ago. Danhof, who has shown up to Disney shareholder meetings to ask fiery questions in the past, told Chapek that he had been "imploring" former CEO Bob Iger to address ABC News' issues for years. Danhof asked Chapek directly, "What steps can you take to return objectivity to ABC and when can we expect to see balanced coverage return?" Chapek responded by saying that his "very first trip" after being named the new CEO was to visit ABC News. He said he was "overwhelmed by professionalism and objectivity" of the news division but admitted Wright said some things on the Project Veritas video to make the company question his objectivity. But Chapek stayed positive and dismissed the other criticism, saying ABC News has a "stellar track record of being objective and reporting the news" and "will continue to do so in the future."
"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss," Danhof told Fox News following the meeting, referencing a famous The Who lyric. "Mr. Chapek seems content to stick his head in the sand when it comes to the pervasive anti-conservative bias across ABC News, just as his predecessor Mr. Iger always was. The bias is blatant." ABC News declined to comment when reached by Fox News. "In addition to what all Americans witness on a daily basis, Project Veritas has recently exposed numerous examples of ABC journalists admitting that the network bosses repeatedly spike positive stories on President Trump," Danhof said.
While Chapek was positive and largely avoided Danhof's criticism, his comment that Wright's objectivity is questionable coincides with the network's decision to suspend the veteran reporter. Wright was disciplined after higher-ups at ABC News reviewed footage in which Wright described himself as a "socialist" and criticized the network for the way in which it chooses to present the news. "I feel terrible about it. I feel that the truth suffers, the voters are poorly informed, and people also have the opportunity to tune into whatever they want to hear," Wright said in the video, which also featured an ABC News producer. "And so, it's like there's no upside, or our bosses don't see an upside in doing the job we're supposed to do, which is to speak truth to power and hold people accountable."
Wright then expounded at length on his political views. "I would consider myself a socialist, like I think there should be national health insurance," he said. "I'm totally fine with reining in corporations, I think they're too many billionaires, and I think there's a wealth gap - that's a problem.''
A rep for ABC News told Fox News he would be reassigned after serving his suspension and an insider said he was hoodwinked into making the statements on camera. Back in 2018, Danhof confronted then-CEO Iger about ABC News' Joy Behar, who was under fire at the time for comments that mocked Vice President Pence's Christian faith. Disney named Chapek the new CEO last month after Iger abruptly stepped down.

Why Is ABC News Feeding the Project Veritas Trolls?
David Wright surely isn't the first journalist, while unwinding on the road, to jab at his bosses, question the corporate priorities of big TV networks, or express a personal political opinion. Wright, however, did so in the presence of an operative from right-wing sting outfit Project Veritas, who surreptitiously filmed the encounter, leading to his suspension from ABC News. The network, which has employed Wright for two decades, said in a statement that "any action that damages our reputation for fairness and impartiality or gives the appearance of compromising it harms ABC News and the individuals involved." Wright, familiar to viewers of Good Morning America and World News Tonight, would also be shifted off politics, the network said, so as "to avoid any possible appearance of bias."
In suspending Wright, ABC News handed a mainstream media scalp to James O'Keefe, whose conservative group has a long history of hiring undercover operatives to befriend journalists, secretly record their conversations, and egg them on to say embarrassing or professionally damaging things on camera. Their portfolio includes a botched attempt in 2017, in which a Project Veritas employee tried to feed a false story to the Washington Post about being raped by Roy Moore, a then GOP Senate candidate and accused sexual predator, in an apparent effort to cast doubt on the Alabama women who publicly came forward against him. (Moore has denied any improper behavior.)

Suspended ABC Reporter Will 'No Longer' Cover Politics After Admitting 'Bosses See No Upside' In Reporting Fairly
ABC News will not allow its currently suspended correspondent David Wright to report on politics again after he was recorded in a Project Veritas video accusing executives of being biased in the network's reporting and talking about his dislike of President Donald Trump.
Wright is seen in the video lamenting how he feels ABC News covers Trump. The video was released Wednesday morning. The veteran correspondent "will be reassigned away from political coverage when he returns," an ABC News spokesman said in a statement to the Daily Caller.
"Any action that damages our reputation for fairness and impartiality or gives the appearance of compromising it harms ABC News and the individuals involved," the statement reads. "David Wright has been suspended, and to avoid any possible appearance of bias, he will be reassigned away from political coverage when he returns."
Wright said in the undercover video that "voters are poorly informed" in part because of the network's purported refusal to cover Trump appropriately. He alleges that the network carefully crafts its reporting to fit a certain narrative, particularly around Trump.
"I feel terrible about it," Wright said according to the video. "I feel that the truth suffers, the voters are poorly informed and people also have the opportunity to tune into whatever they want to hear. And so, it's like there's no upside in - our bosses don't see any upside - in doing the job that we're supposed to do, which is to speak truth to power and hold people to account."
Wright was suspended shortly before the release of the video.

David H. Wright, a top Los Angeles Department of Water and Power executive, has reportedly stepped down in the wake of FBI raids on the organization's downtown headquarters.
Mayor Eric Garcetti had announced weeks ago that David Wright, the DWP's general manager, would be leaving the utility on Oct. 1. The DWP's board also voted today to appoint Chief Operating Officer Marty Adams, a 35-year veteran of the agency, as interim general manager, effective immediately.
FBI agents served search warrants on Monday at multiple government offices, including the utility's downtown headquarters. Agents were reportedly looking for evidence of a wide array of possible crimes, including bribery, kickbacks, extortion, mail fraud, and money laundering, according to a warrant excerpt.

Before the double-dealing allegations, there were red flags over $30-million DWP contract
The head of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power's contracting division was concerned: Top DWP executives wanted to give a $30-million, no-bid contract to a new consulting company to fix the utility's billing system.
In a memo dated June 5, 2017, Gwendolyn Williams, the division head, wrote that the consultant's rates - $400 a hour on average - would be significantly higher than those of other companies.
The next day, the DWP commission, appointees of Mayor Eric Garcetti, met and approved the contract with Aventador Utility Solutions, which at the time was owned by Paul Paradis, an attorney working for L.A. City Atty. Mike Feuer.
Williams' memo and other internal DWP documents obtained by The Times show that high-level department staff had serious issues with the contract with Aventador. The documents show the agreement was questioned two years before a Superior Court judge ordered an investigation of payments to Paradis and other attorneys for their work stemming from the disastrous 2013 rollout of the DWP's new billing program.
Paradis' attorney didn't respond to a request for comment. Rob Wilcox, a spokesman for Feuer, said the city attorney's office had signed off on the contract "as to form and legality - not as to substance, as is our role and practice."
DWP spokesman Joe Ramallo said Aventador's rates were fair and reasonable. Asked why the DWP sought the contract after executives received Williams' memo, he referred The Times to the utility's letter to the board for the agreement, which cited a court mandate to fix the billing system.
The court is investigating whether attorneys worked both sides of the deal and benefited financially from the city's settlement of a class-action lawsuit brought by ratepayers over the billing errors.
The DWP documents raise new questions about how Paradis, a 56-year-old New York litigator with a background in consumer lawsuits, was able to secure a lucrative no-bid deal with the nation's largest public utility.
In recent months, elected officials have demanded answers about Paradis. In May, City Councilwoman Nury Martinez held a closed-door meeting with DWP General Manager David Wright and the city's lawyers about the Aventador contract and the controversy surrounding the settlement.
City Controller Ron Galperin's office is also investigating the contract, spokesman Ian Thompson confirmed.
Alleged conflicts of interest
The DWP launched its new billing software system in 2013, the year Garcetti became mayor. The rollout was a debacle, with hundreds of thousands of customers overcharged. The chaos prompted widespread outrage and promises by the DWP to fix the problems.
Ratepayers filed a class-action lawsuit against the utility over the incorrect bills and eventually secured a $67-million settlement. The city, in turn, sued PricewaterhouseCoopers, the consulting firm that implemented the billing software.
Feuer's office retained Paradis to work as special counsel in the city's lawsuit against PricewaterhouseCoopers. Paradis also attended mediations in the ratepayers' lawsuit against the city, a city attorney's office spokesman said.
While seeking city records to defend itself, PricewaterhouseCoopers uncovered evidence that Paradis represented the lead plaintiff who later filed the ratepayers' class-action lawsuit - DWP customer and Van Nuys resident Antwon Jones, according to court testimony.

"He did not follow protocol."The building houses offices of the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies.
Wright called the mishap a "contracting mess," complaining that the use of private contractors impedes the security guard command structure.
"I cannot order one of these kinds of guards to do anything," he said.

and check out an article from yesterday afternoon:
from the article:
Nuclear plant operators amplified their requests at an annual meeting in the Washington, D.C, area this week.
Scaling back disclosure of lower-level problems at plants is "more responsible … than to put out a headline on the webpage to the world," said Greg Halnon, vice president of regulatory affairs for Ohio-based FirstEnergy Corp., which says its fleet of nuclear and other power plants supplies 6 million customers in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.
When the NRC makes public the problems found at a plant, utilities get "pretty rapid calls from the press, SEC filings get impacted because of potential financial impact," Halnon said.
Requests by utilities for rate increases also can be affected, Halnon said.
Trump has said he wants to help both the coal and nuclear power industries. So far, it's the more politically influential coal industry that's gotten significant action on the regulatory rollbacks that it sought from the Environmental Protection Agency and other agencies.
In January, Trump appointees to the NRC disappointed environmental groups by voting down a staff proposal that nuclear plants be required to substantially - and expensively - harden themselves against major floods and other natural disasters. The proposal was meant to be a main NRC response to the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster after Japan's 9.0 earthquake and tsunami in 2011.
Caputo, who previously worked for nuclear plant operator Exelon Corp, told operators this week her aim was "risk-informed decision-making," concentrating regulatory oversight on high-risk problems.
"We shouldn't regulate to zero risk," said David Wright, a former South Carolina public-utility commissioner appointed to the NRC board last year.
"The NRC mission is reasonable assurance of adequate protection - no more, no less," Wright said.

Cohen refuses to promise he won't sign a book, TV or movie deal
From CNN's David Wright
Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images
In a tense exchange with North Carolina Rep. Virginia Foxx, Michael Cohen said he will not commit to not pursuing possible book, TV and movie deals in the future.
Here's how it unfolded:
Foxx: Can you commit under oath that you have not and will not pursue a book or movie deal based on your experiences working for the President?
Cohen: No –
Foxx: You cannot commit to making money off of a book or movie deal based on your work?
Cohen: No. What I – there's two parts to your question. The first part of your question, you asked me whether or not I had spoken to people regarding a possible book deal, and I have. And I have spoken to people who sought me out regarding a movie deal.
Foxx: No, I didn't ask you if you've spoken to anybody. I said can you commit under oath that you will not – that you have not and will not pursue a book deal?
Cohen: And I will not do that, no.
Foxx: Can you commit under oath that you will not pursue opportunities to provide commentary for a major news network based on your experiences working for the president?
Cohen: No.
Foxx: Can you commit under oath that you will not pursue political office in the state of New York?
Cohen: No.
Foxx: So you don't commit to changing your ways, basically, because you want to continue to use your background as a liar, a cheater, a convicted liar, to make money. That's what you want to do.
Cohen: And that's going to get me a book deal and a movie deal and a – a spot on television? I don't think so.
Foxx: Well, it appears that it will. I yield the remainder of my time.

The FDA has warned old people to stop infusing plasma from young people in order to slow down the aging process, saying it has "no proven clinical benefit" according to Bloomberg.
In a Tuesday safety alert, the agency suggested that old people getting scammed with $8,000 per liter plasma to treat age-related issues including dementia, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and heart disease.
"There is no proven clinical benefit of infusion of plasma from young donors to cure, mitigate, treat or prevent these conditions, and there are risks associated with the use of any plasma product," reads a statement from FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb and Peter Marks, who leads the agency's biologics center.
The idea of infusing young blood to fight aging has attracted technology entrepreneurs like billionaire Peter Thiel and was lampooned in a 2017 episode of the HBO show "Silicon Valley." Thiel's reported interest was sparked by a company called Ambrosia, which has locations in five states across the U.S. and sells one liter of blood plasma from donors between the ages of 16 and 25 for $8,000, according to its website.
Gottlieb and Marks said none of the plasma treatments has gone through the rigorous testing required by the agency. Ambrosia says "experiments in mice called parabiosis provided the inspiration to deliver treatments with young plasma." The FDA approval typically requires human trials before companies can make a specific health claim about a product.
"The reported uses of these products should not be assumed to be safe or effective," said Gottlieb and Marks. "We strongly discourage consumers from pursuing this therapy outside of clinical trials under appropriate institutional review board and regulatory oversight."
Plasma infusions are an FDA approved treatment intrauma settings or for people whose blood doesn't coagulate, however the agency notes there are risks, including circulatory overload, allergic reactions, lung injury and the transmission of infectious diseases.
"We're concerned that some patients are being preyed upon by unscrupulous actors touting treatments of plasma from young donors as cures and remedies," say Gottlieb and Marks. "Such treatments have no proven clinical benefits for the uses for which these clinics are advertising them, and are potentially harmful."
As we noted in January, Ambrosia was launched by Stanford University graduate Jesse Karmazin, who charges $8,000 for one liter of young blood, and $12,000 for two liters. Karmazin, who isn't a licensed medical practitioner, told reporters last year that he had hoped to open his first clinic in New York City by the end of 2018 - however following Tuesday's FDA announcement, they are no longer treating patients according to their website.
As of last fall, the company had performed the procedure on about 150 people ranging in age from 35 to 92, while 81% of those people participated in the company's clinical trial. The trial gave patients one and a half liters of plasma from a donor between the ages of 16 and 25 and was conducted with David Wright, a physician who has his own intravenous blood therapy center in California.
Trial participants footed the bill for their own treatments - while the results of their clinical trials have not been publicly released.
"The trial was an investigational study. We saw some interesting things, and we do plan to publish that data. And we want to begin to open clinics where the treatment will be made available," the company's COO said… several months before he left.
And now, it appears that those wanting to procure young blood will need to hunt elsewhere.

Q Research General #6144: "SC On Team or Off Team? Time Will Tell" Edition
This Startup Will Let You Have A Younger Person's Blood For $8,000
A graduate of Stanford University - incubator of such famous blood-linked companies as Theranos - has launched a controversial start-up company, called Ambrosia, that will, for a generous fee, replace the blood of older people with that of younger donors in yet another attempt to conquer aging. Business Insider reported on the company first, while admitting there is little to no evidence that the procedure actually works. But that hasn't stopped Amborisa creator Jesse Karmazin, from accepting payments via PayPal for the procedure: he is charging $8,000 for one liter of young blood and $12,000 for two liters. Karmazin, who isn't a licensed medical practitioner, told reporters last year that he had hoped to open his first clinic in New York City by the end of 2018. New York City has eluded him and instead he has opened locations in places like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tampa and Houston.
Just like Theranos, the company also performed its own clinical trial to figure out what the effects of blood swapping would be. These results haven't been made public, but Karmazin has called them "really positive". And despite the fact that there hasn't been any evidence that it works, Ambrosia is allowed to continue under the FDA's approval of blood transfusions. Further propelling the idea forward is the significant amount of interest it has received. After putting up its first website in September, the company reportedly got 100 inquiries (mostly from very rich people) about how to get the treatment. The company's chief operating officer at the time has since left the company in January, leaving its founder as its only employee.
As of the fall last year, the company had performed the procedure on about 150 people who ranged in age from 35 to 92. 81% of those people participated in the company's clinical trial. The trial gave patients one and a half liters of plasma from a donor between the ages of 16 and 25 and was conducted with David Wright, a physician who has his own intravenous blood therapy center in California. Trial participants paid for their infusions and the metrics recorded in the study have not been publicly released. "The trial was an investigational study. We saw some interesting things, and we do plan to publish that data. And we want to begin to open clinics where the treatment will be made available," the company's COO said… several months before he left.
And while there has been no evidence yet that there is any efficacy, normal blood transfusions still often save lives. When somebody has undergone surgery or been in a traumatic accident, transfusions can be one of the safest life-saving procedures available. Clinicians perform about 14.6 million transfusions per year, which equates to about 40,000 of them happening every day. But the problem is that the science around young blood replacing old blood to fight aging simply doesn't exist in robust form. For instance, the results of a study that used young blood in older humans to try to counteract Alzheimer's disease were published this month in JAMA Neurology. While the study was described as "safe, well tolerated and feasible" the authors of it were reluctant draw conclusions about potential benefits. But that hasn't stopped Karmazin from doing so; he said in 2017: "Some patients got young blood, and others got older blood, and I was able to do some statistics on it, and the results looked really awesome. And I thought this is the kind of therapy that I'd want to be available to me."

A controversial startup that charges $8,000 to fill your veins with young blood now claims to be up and running in 5 cities across the US
Roughly three years ago, Karmazin launched Ambrosia, a startup that fills the veins of older people with blood from younger donors, hoping the procedure would help conquer aging by rejuvenating the body's organs. As Business Insider previously reported, there's little to no evidence to suggest this would work.
The company is now up and running, Karmazin told Business Insider on Wednesday. Ambrosia recently revamped its website with a list of clinic locations and is now accepting payments for the procedure via PayPal. Two options are listed: 1 liter of young blood for $8,000, or 2 liters for $12,000.
In the fall, Karmazin - who is not a licensed medical practitioner - told Business Insider he planned to open the first Ambrosia clinic in New York City by the end of the year. That didn't happen. Instead, he said, the sites where customers can get the procedure include Los Angeles; San Francisco; Tampa, Florida; Omaha, Nebraska; and Houston, Texas.
In 2017, Ambrosia enrolled people in a clinical trial designed to find out what happens when the veins of adults are filled with blood from younger people. While the results of that study have not been made public, Karmazin told Business Insider in September that they were "really positive."
There's no scientific evidence to suggest that the treatments could help anyone, and several experts who spoke to Business Insider have raised red flags.
But because the Food and Drug Administration has approved blood transfusions, Ambrosia's approach has been able to continue as an off-label treatment.
There appears to be significant interest. A week after putting up its first website in September, the company received roughly 100 inquiries about how to get the treatment, David Cavalier, Ambrosia's chief operating officer at the time, told Business Insider in the fall. That led to the creation of a waiting list, Cavalier said.
In January, Cavalier told Business Insider he'd left Ambrosia, leaving Karmazin as the company's only public employee.
Before departing from Ambrosia, Cavalier worked with Karmazin to scout several potential clinic locations in New York and organize talks with potential investors, he said.
Ambrosia's first clinical trial
Because blood transfusions are already approved by federal regulators, Ambrosia does not need to demonstrate that its treatment carries significant benefits before offering it to customers.
As of September, the company had infused close to 150 people, ranging in age from 35 to 92, with the blood of younger donors, Cavalier said. Of those, 81 participated in its clinical trial.
The trial, which involved giving patients 1.5 liters of plasma from a donor between the ages of 16 and 25 over two days, was conducted with David Wright, a physician who owns a private intravenous-therapy center in Monterey, California. Before and after the infusions, participants' blood was tested for a handful of biomarkers, or measurable biological substances and processes thought to provide a snapshot of health and disease.

Not a Conspiracy Theory: Rich Lining Up to Pay for the Blood of Children to Be Injected into Them
A new startup is hoping to cash in on a disturbing trend that has been growing in popularity among the ultra-rich. It is a treatment in which blood from young people is injected into the veins of older people-seriously.
While it has been reported that this practice has been popular underground in Silicon Valley for years now, this is the first company to officially offer the service to the public. Stanford Medical graduate Jesse Karmazin is the founder of Ambrosia Medical, which plans to open its first clinic in New York City in the next few months.
Ambrosia was involved in the first clinical trials in the US that tested the effects of this treatment.
The study has not yet been made public, but Karmazin told Business Insider the results were "really positive."
Since blood transfusions are already approved by the FDA, Ambrosia has had very few regulatory hurdles in opening their business. As Business Insider reports:
The trial, which involved giving patients 1.5 liters of plasma from a donor between the ages of 16 and 25 over two days, was conducted with physician David Wright, who owns a private intravenous-therapy center in Monterey, California. Before and after the infusions, participants' blood was tested for a handful of biomarkers, or measurable biological substances and processes that are thought to provide a snapshot of health and disease.
In the week since the company launched their website, they have already received over 100 calls from people requesting appointments.
"So many people were reaching out to us that we wanted to make a simple way for them to be added to the list," David Cavalier, Ambrosia's chief operating officer said.
During the trials, patients paid $8,000 to be involved and receive the treatment, but the company has clarified that the price the public sees may be much different, even higher, than what the trial participants paid.
"The trial was an investigational study. We saw some interesting things and we do plan to publish that data. And we want to begin to open clinics where the treatment will be made available," Cavalier said.

Q Research General #2399 POTUS Speaking at SC Rally Now Edition!!
Karmazin's startup Ambrosia - Greek for "immortality" - is betting on the chance these early results might translate into a human anti-aging elixir. Since 2016, working with Dr. David Wright who runs an intravenous therapy clinic in Monterey, Ambrosia has been steadily pumping single doses of donor plasma to those willing to pay.
Ambrosia's trial is controversial, to put it mildly. Its requirement for patients to pay, though legal, have struck many as ethically dicey. Some have even gone so far as to condemn the trial as a cash grab, similar to the boom of unauthorized stem cell clinics that prey on people's hopes but make good business.

WATCH THE WATER?
