Hunter Biden tried to blame his missing handgun on Mexican workers at a Delaware supermarket he smeared as 'shady' and 'prolly illegal', according to a 2018 police report published for the first time this week.

The First Son made the controversial comments in October 2018 while being interviewed by state police looking for his handgun and bullets after his lover and brother's widow Hallie Biden threw them in a public trash can at Janssens Supermarket in Wilmington, across the road from a high school.

The police search for the gun led to them obtaining Hunter's gun purchase form, in which he lied about not being an addict - the criminal charge that he now faces in Delaware federal court. The trial is due to start on June 3.

The debacle was first revealed by news site Politico in 2021. But the police report, with all its embarrassing details, has now been published for the first time last among pre-trial filings by Delaware prosecutors.

It shows Delaware State Police wrote up Hallie for 'stealing' his Colt Cobra .38 handgun out of his truck and dumping it in the Janssens trash can on October 23 2018.

One officer wrote in his report that he interviewed Hunter at the supermarket later that day about who might have fished his gun out of the trash.

Hunter told the officer, Sergeant Vincent Clemons: 'they have some shady people working at the market' and gestured at two Mexican store workers adding that they were 'prolly illegal' - then brought up that his father is Joe Biden.

Hunter told Clemons that Hallie threw away the gun because she was scared he would kill himself.

He denied he was suicidal, but whined that 'he has been living in a nightmare' and told Clemons 'to put myself in his shoes, and try to feel what it would be like to fall in love with [redacted, his brother's widow Hallie] and then have everyone look at him.'

The report also says police got CCTV of Hallie appearing to dump the gun.

Clemons's report says cops were worried because the supermarket is across the street from a high school 'and we didn't need a student to find the weapon'.

Intriguingly, the police report confirms that the FBI were involved in the case, helping go through the trash looking for the gun.

And Hunter's texts, obtained by DailyMail.com from his abandoned laptop, suggest that a senior law enforcement officer who worked with the FBI was creating a back channel to the official investigation and recommending ways the Bidens could avoid getting in trouble with police.

Detective John Penrod is named in the police report as 'DSP JTTF FBI Task Force', an acronym for Delaware State Police Joint Terrorism Task Forces. According to the FBI, JTTFs consist of multiple agencies and work out of FBI offices.

Amid the incident, on October 23, 2018 Hunter texted Hallie: 'And Hallie John Penrod: 'Hallie have David call if something like this ever happens again (implying - next time Hunter f**ks Up)'.'

'David' is a reference to David I Walsh, the son of Joe Biden's former law partner and decades-long friend David Walsh Sr. Texts on the laptop show Hunter was jealous and paranoid that Hallie was sleeping with Walsh Jr.

Who Is Sara Biden? Joe's In-Law Emerges as Central Figure in Foreign Cash Deals

Trouble has followed Sara Catherine Jones since she married into the Biden family almost three decades ago.

Not long after her 1995 wedding to Jim Biden, she took a job with one of his brother Joe's Senate donors, who later accused her of "fraud" and "unjust enrichment," according to court records reviewed by RealClearInvestigations. In the years since, she and her husband have been accused of reneging on debts and failing to pay their taxes, court and property records show. Like their nephew, first son Hunter Biden, they have reportedly sold the promise of access to their powerful relative to companies, several of which have gone bankrupt, some of which are tied to foreign countries hostile to the United States.

Now, Sara Jones Biden has emerged as a key figure in the mushrooming Biden foreign influence-peddling scandal.

GOP lawmakers seek to question the 64-year-old licensed attorney as part of their investigation of President Biden for possible impeachable offenses, including bribery. They are especially interested in subpoenaed bank records that include almost a quarter million dollars in checks Sara Biden wrote to her brother-in-law Joe, conspicuously marking them as "loan repayment." Republicans want to ask her about the origin of those loans and whether checks "were funded by Biden influence-peddling schemes with China."

"The Committees require you to provide details of these payments and other related matters," the chairmen of the House Oversight and Judiciary committees said in a joint letter they sent to her last month demanding she make herself available for a transcribed interview. In addition, they sent a subpoena to her husband for testimony and information.

Although Hunter and Jim Biden's questionable business dealings - and their possible blessing from the president - are drawing increasing scrutiny, Sara Biden has drawn little attention until now. But court records and other documents show she has been a central player in the Biden family business for decades. They show how her and her husband's desire for a lifestyle they could not quite afford has repeatedly led them to form relationships with shady figures and enterprises that often ended in lawsuits and even criminal investigations.

Looming over it all is Joe Biden. Documents recently obtained by government watchdog America First Legal, under a Freedom of Information Act request, reveal that Sara and Jim's main business, the Lion Hall Group, shows up in more than 3,735 emails generated by the former Vice President Biden's office. The sheer volume of communications concerning his brother and sister-in-law's business appears to contradict Biden's repeated claims over the years that he was never involved in, or even aware of, his family's business dealings.

Sara Biden's links to Joe Biden date back to the early 1990s, when she landed a committee job with his close personal friend, Sen. Wendell Ford, a Kentucky Democrat.

"Sen. Ford has been an important part of our family for a long time," Joe Biden said after Ford died in 2015. "He gave Sara Jones Biden, from Owensboro, Ky., her first job on the Hill when she graduated from Duke Law School, and that's how she met my brother Jimmy."

Jimmy and Sara weren't just sweethearts; they were also business partners - with a taste for high living.

In 1997, Sara and Jim Biden formed consulting firm Lion Hall Group with the help of Joe Biden's old law partner, David Walsh, who acted as their registered agent, according to incorporation records they filed with the Delaware Department of State.

That same year, they bought an expensive home in the Philadelphia suburbs and struggled to make payments on the $650,000 mortgage, records show, even though a longtime Democratic fundraiser for then-Sen. Biden, Joel Boyarsky, loaned them as much as $200,000. In 1998, the IRS filed its first lien against their home to collect $145,000 in unpaid taxes.

It was 3:15 on the morning of June 26, 1980, and Congressman Bob Livingston was extraordinarily drunk, hiding in the congressional gym beneath the Rayburn House Office Building, petrified that a team of highly trained right-wing homosexual assassins working on behalf of Ronald Reagan was about to kill him.

With his new book, James Kirchick offers a window into an era when "the fear of homosexuality, or even the mere accusation of it, destroyed careers, ended lives, and induced otherwise decent people to betray colleagues and friends." In this exclusive excerpt, he reveals the extent to which whisperings of a conspiracy from California to Washington, when met with political opportunism and overblown anxiety over the potential presence of gay people in positions of power, nearly altered the course of history.

To the extent that the Louisiana Republican is remembered today, it's for the brief but sensational role he played in America's most infamous political sex scandal. On the same day in December 1998 that Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about his affair with a White House intern, Livingston, then the House speaker-designate, shocked the nation with his own admission of adultery. Preempting a journalistic expos? that had dredged up evidence of his past relationships with women not his wife, he not only refused the speakership but announced his resignation from Congress altogether.

What people don't know is that nearly two decades before this bit part in the Clinton impeachment drama riveted the nation, Livingston was at the center of another scandal involving politicians and illicit sex, one that, in his own words, had the potential to be "world-shaking." Most explosive about this whole terrible intrigue, and what tied it all together, was the nature of the sexual activity involved.

For most of the 20th century, the worst thing one could possibly be in American politics was gay. The mere insinuation of homosexuality was sufficient to destroy a political career, and things could get particularly vicious between intraparty adversaries. The first outing in American politics, of the isolationist Massachusetts Sen. David Walsh in 1942, was perpetrated by interventionist allies of fellow Democrat, President Franklin D. Roosevelt. While public attitudes have become far more open, the insinuation that someone is gay - whether true or not - remains a potent weapon (as elements of the campaign against North Carolina Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn recently illustrated), especially in socially conservative milieus.

This account of the alleged "homosexual ring" that controlled Ronald Reagan, and the efforts to expose it on the eve of the 1980 Republican National Convention that nominated him for the presidency, is compiled from interviews with several of the surviving participants and documents uncovered in the papers of former Washington Post Executive Editor Ben Bradlee. Appropriately for a story involving what was once considered the gravest sin in American politics, it has never been told until now.

CALGARY - Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says he won't "take lectures" from federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu on how to handle COVID-19.
Hajdu earlier penned a letter to her Alberta counterpart saying she agrees with the Canadian Paediatric Society's description of Alberta's move to lift all COVID-19 measures as an "unnecessary and risky gamble."
"We're not going to ... take lectures from Minister Hajdu, particularly when it appears that she and her boss (Prime Minister) Justin Trudeau are hell-bent on a federal election campaign," Kenney said Friday at a news conference in Bowden, Alta., about drought support for farmers.
"If they really are that concerned about COVID, then why is she getting ready to put up campaign signs?"
Kenney went on to describe Hajdu's letter as a political ploy and criticized her handling of COVID-19 in the early days of the pandemic.
He said the federal government should respect the advice of Alberta's top doctor, as his government does.
Hajdu is one of many political leaders and health-care experts across the country who have spoken out about Alberta's decision to eliminate COVID-19 isolation, testing and contact tracing measures.
Dozens of people chanted "test, trace and isolate" outside the legislature in Edmonton on Friday. It was the ninth consecutive day of protests, which have also taken place in Calgary.
Organizers said they will continue to protest every day until Aug. 16 - the day quarantine requirements lift in Alberta for people infected with COVID-19.
David Walsh, 14, said even though he is fully vaccinated, he is concerned for his peers when they return to school in September.
"It's idiotic, quite frankly," Walsh said. "I'm worried about asymptomatic people in the school ... and not having to isolate anymore is concerning. I'm worried about my classmates and those who have been fed misinformation and haven't been vaccinated."
Businessman Rob Sproule attended the protest with his wife and children. He said he is gravely concerned about a fourth COVID-19 wave.
"No other jurisdiction has gone this far. Dropping restrictions is one thing. You don't have to take it one step further and treat COVID like it's the cold. It's not a cold," said Sproule.
As concerns mount, so are cases in Alberta. Thursday marked the single highest daily case count since July 1 with 397 new infections. There were another 369 cases Friday, and 11 new hospitalizations.
