"This is the thing I am the most shocked by in the last four years - that young people have gone from being the most progressive generation since the Baby Boomers … to becoming potentially the most conservative generation that we've experienced maybe in 50 to 60 years," Shor said, according to Newsweek.
The poll, taken from AtlasIntel, showed that among voters 18-29, support for President Donald Trump climbed 52.7%. The poll also highlighted a gender gap in the age group, with young men 23% more likely to support Trump than young women.
Likewise, Klein commented: "Democrats are getting destroyed now among young voters… They thought that this was a last gasp of something and that if Donald Trump couldn't run up his numbers among seniors and you had Millennials and Gen Z really coming into voting power, that would be the end of this Republican Party. That is just completely false."

Many in San Francisco, including Y Combinator's Garry Tan and Mike Solana, founder of industry media company Pirate Wires,have become vocal critics of the city's leniency on crime and drugs, which they see as having reduced the tech hub to squalor. Other entrepreneurs found themselves, as parents, fighting with teachers' unions that sought to keep schools closed for months or years, imposed masks on toddlers well after the science had proved this unnecessary, andpromised to lie to the parents of children with gender dysphoria. It was this last item that proved the "final straw" for Muskin his decision to leave California.
This hardly means that the tech industry is full of social conservatives. Democratic polling guru David Shor has popularized social science research finding that, given a mix of agreement and disagreement with candidates' positions,=voters will support the candidate with whom they agree most on the issues that seem most politically active or "salient" at the time. In Silicon Valley, as in much of the rest of America, the issues where social liberals and libertarians most disagreed with the George W. Something else, more inchoate, explains the tech turn beyond retail politics or recent events. When Solana identified the beginnings of a "vibe shift" in February 2023,he had his finger on a deeper cultural pulse: a rising desire to cast off timidity and compliance in the name of freedom.
This points to a final reason for tech's move rightward: the Right has become the more dynamic political camp. When Trump stated in his RNC acceptance speech, "Ambition is our heritage. Greatness is our birthright," many in the tech industry nodded along. In a similar vein, Mark Zuckerberg could praiseTrump's response to being shot as "one of the most badass things I've ever seen in my life." Trump and the rise of the "New Right" have made it possible to rethink old ideas, propose crazy new ones, and offer bold, ambitious plans for revitalizing America. These plans, coalescing around an America First pursuit of the national interest, align well with an industry full of entrepreneurs and builders eager to accomplish something unprecedented, if only to prove that it's possible.
Consider some of the hottest tech companies today: chip maker Nvidia, defense tech firm Anduril, and spacecraft manufacturer SpaceX are doing work of straightforward significance to America's status on the world stage.Andreessen and Horowitz's firm has a portfolio for "American Dynamism" companies that exemplify "the spirit of innovation, progress, and resilience that drives the United States forward."

Hispanic Voters' Support for Trump Could Mean Trouble for Dems
Hispanics voted in greater numbers for former President Donald Trump in 2020, a trend that could spell trouble for Democrats in this year's midterm elections, reports The Washington Examiner.
The growth in Trump's Latino support showed up in 2020 even though the former president lost to Joe Biden in the presidential election, earning the backing of about one in three Hispanic voters nationwide.
Close to 17 million Latino voters turned out in the 2020 general election and Trump won the highest share of the Hispanic vote of any Republican presidential nominee since George W. Bush in 2004.
"They're pro-business, they're pro-gun, they don't like higher taxes, they don't trust the government," Chuck Coughlin, a Republican pollster in Arizona, told the New York Times last year regarding a report that found Trump's Latino support was more widespread than thought. "It's the same constituency that you see among Anglo Trump voters."
Top Democratic data guru David Shor after the election said the decline in Hispanic support for Democrats was "pretty broad."
"This isn't just about Cubans in South Florida," he said. "It happened in New York and California and Arizona and Texas."
A poll released earlier this year by the Wall Street Journal shows that things could get worse for Democrats this November among the voting bloc, with 37% of Hispanic voters saying they would support a Democrat for Congress compared with 37% who said they would pick a Republican.
Democratic House candidates in 2020 received more than 60% of the Hispanic vote.
Latinos are also turned off by COVID-19 lockdowns, the defund the police movement, and progressives' embrace of socialism, per the Washington Examiner.
"The shift among Hispanic men was clear, and it seems they were attracted to the strong leadership that President Trump offered," Republican pollster Neil Newhouse previously told the Washington Examiner. "That movement sped up in the '20 cycle as part of the national debate revolved around the Democrats' lurch toward socialistic policies."

'Canceled People': Online database of victims of the new McCarthyism nears 200 listings
Skilled manual laborer's side project draws praise from independent-minded black and feminist thinkers.
When political data scientist David Shor got fired for sharing research that found peaceful protests were more politically effective than violent protests, a skilled manual laborer in the Mountain West had an idea: Why not create a database of so-called cancelations?
Over the next several months he started researching documented instances of cancel culture across the world and soliciting submissions. His project, CanceledPeople.org (and .com), is approaching 200 listings from the U.S., Canada, U.K., Germany, France, Indonesia and Australia.
The website got a boost of attention earlier this month when Christina Hoff Sommers, the American Enterprise Institute scholar and "Factual Feminist" YouTube host, tweeted about the "well-sourced database" of cancelations.
In an interview with Just the News, the creator pulled back the veil on the project. (He declined to identify himself, except for his geography and field of work, but he did provide screenshots of account records verifying his ownership and operation of the site.)
"Canceled People is not part of a larger organization," he wrote in an email last week. "It's really just a part-time project of mine, with my girlfriend helping out occasionally." Neither is an academic, as might be guessed from the project's research protocols, which lay out the rules for adding and removing people from public view.
The tweet by Sommers triggered 75 submissions, which each take 20-30 minutes to review, the creator said.
"Usually it's fairly clear whether or not they belong there, but some cases are tough," he said. "It would be good to have a panel of experts to discuss and vote on those cases."
The website's About page says its purpose is "to better understand cancel culture itself as a phenomenon," including how it's affecting "societal norms around free speech that enable democracy to function and flourish." CanceledPeople.org is intended as a resource especially for researchers to "explore and draw their own conclusions."
'Window of acceptable speech seemed to have narrowed drastically overnight'
Before submitting examples of cancelations, users are instructed to read CanceledPeople.org's definition.
Victims must have faced "a coordinated effort to shame them and destroy their reputation," especially targeting their personal or professional relationships.
The cancelation must have succeeded: They were demoted, forced to resign or lost a job, or suffered lost professional or financial opportunities, as a result of "reasonable expression" that was not illegal. Exceptions include Holocaust denial and racial slurs intended to "wound."

Shor said in order for Democrats to win elections they should stop focusing on issues people hate such as amnesty for up to 22 million illegal immigrants. Instead, they should focus on their agenda that is popular with the electorate. But that plan won't work because there is nothing in their agenda that voters will like.
Maher asked Shor:
"We seem to be entering an era of re-segregation that's coming from the left. I mean, on many college campuses, there are separate dorms, separate black dorms, graduation ceremonies, stuff like that. How will that affect elections in the future?"
Shor replied:
"I think just to go back, I think that the important thing is to just realize that most nonwhite voters are not liberal. They don't identify as liberal. We should take that really seriously, realizing that most voters don't share our values means that we should instead we should try to meet people with the values that they actually hold and we should talk to them about issues that they care about."

Even as the riots that burst out onto the street after the death of George Floyd claimed over half a dozen lives, the Left is starting to romanticize riots again. There are consequences for even noticing that the majority of Americans don't like arson, assault, and depraved murders.
David Shor was an up-and-coming political operator and data analyst. As a very young man, he worked on Barack Obama's 2012 campaign. And he probably thought that he was helping progressives when he recently shared a research paper by Princeton's Omar Wasow. What Wasow found was that the presence of riots reduced Democratic vote share in surrounding counties by 2 percent, and that this was enough to tip the 1968 election to Richard Nixon.
The logic of Wasow's argument is intuitive. Disorder and violence that is associated with the Left leads more people to support reactionary or at least right-leaning law-and-order candidates. In the last year of his life, Martin Luther King Jr. spent a great deal of time making the same argument in the face of growing urban unrest. "Every time a riot develops, it helps George Wallace," he said.
Young Shor was immediately set upon by other activists. Ari Trujillo Wesler (co-founder of OpenField, a Democratic canvassing app) said that sharing the Wasow paper "reeks of anti-blackness," then tagged in David Shor's boss, saying, "Come get your boy." (You may have thought calling an adult man "boy" was disrespectful.) Shor's fellow employees complained that his tweet made them "unsafe." I wonder how safe Shor felt knowing that employees at other companies could publicly call on his boss to "get" him. Shor was not just fired from his job; he was expelled from email listservs. Being against riots was deemed "racist."
