ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The executive director of the Maryland Port Administration resigned late last week after being involved in a four-vehicle crash in a state-issued vehicle that resulted in police citing him for failing to control speed, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and following too close.
William Doyle was cited by authorities after the crash last Tuesday morning on southbound Interstate 83 in Baltimore, Maryland State Police said in a statement.
"While we cannot discuss details of personnel matters, I can confirm that Bill Doyle did submit his resignation on Friday," Maryland Port Administration spokesman Richard Scher said in a statement.
Deputy Executive Director Brian Miller is serving as interim acting executive director at the port, Scher said.
Investigators believe three vehicles were stopped in the travel portion of the road at the time of the crash, state police said. Doyle was driving a state-issued 2017 Jeep and crashed into a pickup, causing a chain reaction with two other vehicles, police said. No one was hospitalized.
Doyle, 53, left the scene of the crash, though he later called police and told them about it, state police said. Troopers contacted Doyle and met him at the scene of the crash.

Cop Fired for Cowering in Fear as Gunman Slaughtered Children Gets Rehired, with Full Back Pay
Parkland, FL - A sheriff's deputy who was fired after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting for cowering by his car while Nicolas Cruz slaughtered children inside, is back on the job - and likely receiving six figures of back pay.
According to the Sun Sentinel, an arbitrator ruled this week that Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony acted 13 days too late when he fired deputy Josh Stambaugh last year for his conduct during the February 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
State law says discipline against law enforcement officers must occur within 180 days of an investigation's completion but apparently that didn't happen. It is unknown exactly how much Stambaugh will receive in back pay, but he earned more than $150,000 in 2018, including overtime.
According to a report out of ABC, a state investigative commission found that Stambaugh was working an off-duty shift at a nearby school when he responded to reports of shots fired at Stoneman Douglas. He got out of his truck, put on his bulletproof vest and took cover for about five minutes after hearing the shots, according to body camera footage. Stambaugh then drove to a nearby highway instead of going toward the school.
Despite clearly neglecting his duties - to the point of costing children their lives - this coward cop will receive a large sum of back bay and his badge.
"Once again, an arbitrator with no connection or association with Broward County has made a flawed decision to reinstate a deputy who was terminated for his response to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
Naturally, the police union applauded the decision to rehire the deputy and decried the sheriff's decision to fire them.
Jeff Bell, president of the Broward patrol deputies union said that firing Stambaugh after the deadline was "a waste of taxpayer money on cases where the agency knows it violated Florida State Statutes."
While this may be shocking, Stambaugh is the second cop to be reinstated after being fired for being a coward doing the shooting.
Sgt. Brian Miller was fired 16 months after the shooting. After former sheriff Scott Isreal refused to fire the cop, his replacement, Tony, fired Miller and then deputies Stambaugh and Edward Eason a few weeks later.
As the Sentinal reported at the time:
Miller was the first supervisor on the scene. He arrived in time to hear three or four shots. As a supervisor, he didn't rush to take command. Instead, a state commission investigating the shooting found that Miller took his time putting on a bulletproof vest and hid behind his car on Holmberg Road, not going on the radio for 10 minutes.
"Miller failed to coordinate or direct deputies' actions and did not direct or coordinate an immediate response into the school," a report from a commission said. "Sergeant Miller's actions were ineffective and he did not properly supervise the scene."
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, a member of the commission, called Miller "an absolute, total failure."
Now, this absolute, total failure is back on the streets along with his other total failure fellow cop, ready to cower behind a car the next time he faces an actual threat.

GOP Senators Press DOJ to Investigate Planned Parenthood
Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) led more than two dozen Republican senators in letters Thursday that called upon the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Treasury, and the FBI to investigate both Planned Parenthood's ability to obtain Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and its sales of the body parts of aborted babies.
In one letter, the GOP senators wrote to Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery Brian Miller of the Treasury Department urging him to "review the loans made to at least 43 Planned Parenthood affiliates" under the PPP.
The letter continued:
Specifically, we ask that you investigate how these affiliates were able to obtain PPP loans despite their ineligibility under the Small Business Administration's (SBA) rules, whether any Planned Parenthood affiliates knowingly provided false information in their PPP loan applications, and to what extent the parent organization, Planned Parenthood for America (PPFA), was involved in the application process for said loans.
Fox News's Tucker Carlson Tonight revealed in May that affiliates of the abortion industry giant received $80 million in loans through the PPP coronavirus relief funds.
In response, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) led 27 of his Senate colleagues in a letter to Attorney General William Barr that called for the DOJ to investigate how Planned Parenthood applied for and obtained the funds.
The senators noted that, under the CARES Act, organizations such as the Planned Parenthood affiliates were prohibited from receiving PPP funds. The SBA also confirmed the affiliates were ineligible for the funds because the organization's number of total employees exceeds the cap of 500 or less to obtain the loans.
Despite an order by the SBA to return the PPP funds, two Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas have refused to surrender the loans.
In another letter, the GOP senators wrote to Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray, requesting an update into the investigation of Planned Parenthood's organ harvesting and sale of fetal tissue practices that supposedly was launched in December 2017.
The senators cited the undercover investigation of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) that exposed Planned Parenthood's involvement in the sale of the body parts of babies aborted in some of the group's clinics.
In July, CMP released unsealed video clips of the testimony of officials from Planned Parenthood and others in the abortion industry that revealed details of infants surviving abortion and either being left to die or having their organs harvested.

Fired Parkland cop - who hid behind his car during massacre - to be reinstated with full back pay
The father of one victim called the decision 'a slap in the face'
A former Broward County Sheriff's sergeant who was terminated for his inaction after responding to the 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, will return to the force and receive six figures in full back pay, his union has announced.
Sgt. Brian Miller was one of four officers fired last year after an investigation determined they had "neglected their duties" when they responded to the school as a murderer killed 17 students and wounded 17 more. Miller was the first supervisor to arrive at the scene, and he hid behind his vehicle for several minutes.
What are the details?
The Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that according to a statement from the Broward County Sheriff's Office Deputies Association Union, an "arbitrator found that the Broward County Sheriff's Office violated Miller's due process rights when Sheriff Gregory Tony terminated him long after state law allowed it."
The outlet went on to note that "Miller will receive considerable money when reinstated. He was paid more than $137,000 in 2018."
In reaction to the decision, the general counsel for the sheriff's office told ABC News it is "exploring all legal options to address this erroneous decision." They added that "the decision was based upon a technicality that we believe was wrongly decided."
Survivors and victims' family members expressed outrage over the decision to reinstate Miller.
Kyle Kashuv, who survived the slaughter that took place in Parkland, wrote on Twitter, "Not only did this Coward not go inside when he heard my classmates being murdered. But he hid behind his car and didn't radio anyone for 10 full Minutes. All while 2 unarmed school staff ran inside and gave their lives. He did nothing."

From the Daily Mail:
Police sergeant fired over Parkland shooting will be reinstated
A Florida officer, who was fired after 'failing to coordinate an immediate response' to the Parkland shooting in 2018 and instead cowered behind a car, will be reinstated.
Sgt Brian Miller was terminated from the Broward Sheriff's Office in June 2019 after being suspended for several months.
During the investigation, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission found that the Broward Sheriff's Office displayed deficiencies in everything from training and command to individual performance in its response to the massacre that saw Nikolas Cruz shoot dead 14 students and three faculty members on February 14, 2018.
'Miller failed to coordinate or direct deputies' actions and did not direct or coordinate an immediate response into the school,' a report from the commission said.
'Sergeant Miller's actions were ineffective and he did not properly supervise the scene,' the report added.
But on Wednesday it was revealed that despite his actions that day, he will be getting his job back. Miller will be reinstated with full back pay and seniority.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, an arbitrator ruled that Miller's due process rights were violated when he was fired and dismissed the case against him.

Senate panel tees up subpoena vote in probe related to Hunter Biden
The committee has scheduled a business meeting next week to vote on a subpoena to Blue Star Strategies, a public affairs firm that worked with Burisma, the Ukrainian energy firm that hired Hunter Biden. The panel will consider the subpoena along with the nomination of Brian Miller, President Donald Trump's nominee to be the special inspector general for pandemic recovery, on May 20, according to a committee notice obtained by CNN.
Johnson has been investigating Burisma and Ukraine heading into the 2020 presidential election season, and has received documents from the State Department and the National Archives as part of the probe. Before the pandemic hit, Trump suggested he would make Ukraine a major part of the election should Biden be the nominee, while Trump and his allies have repeatedly made unfounded and false claims to allege that the former vice president and his son acted corruptly in Ukraine. Johnson told CNN last week that he could issue a report on what his committee has found later this year.
"We've got a lot of information from the Archives, from the State Department," Johnson said. "We'll probably assemble all that."
While Johnson has insisted the investigation is not related to election-year politics, Democrats on the committee have slammed it as an effort to undermine Biden, and one of the committee's Republicans, Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, said earlier this year that the probe felt political.
Sen. Gary Peters, the ranking Democratic member on the committee, condemned the move to vote on a subpoena as a "distraction" on Wednesday. Peters opposed the subpoena when Johnson first sought to issue it, which is why a committee vote is necessary to authorize the subpoena.
"We should be focusing on Covid issues," Peters told CNN. "It's not related at all to the crisis and so why are we spending time on it?"
CNN has reached out to the Biden campaign and Blue Star Strategies for comment.
The subpoena to Blue Star Strategies comes after Johnson scrapped an earlier vote to subpoena a Blue Star contractor, Andrii Telizhenko, who has made unfounded allegations about Ukrainian election interference in 2016 and is allied with the President's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani. Telizhenko told CNN in March the allegations against him were part of a smear campaign.
Burisma was at the center of the House's impeachment of Trump last year, as it was the company that Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate in their July 2019 call.

President Trump to Fire Several Deep State IGs at Once
President Trump recently fired Intel Community IG Michael Atkinson and he's reportedly gearing up to fire several more Deep State IGs in one fell swoop.
The IGs Trump is looking to fire were appointed by Barack Obama or beforehand.
"President Trump wants his own people in those positions now."
Real Clear Politics reporter Susan Crabtree said it could include Brian Miller, senior White House associate counsel, as special inspector general for pandemic recovery at the Treasury Department. Trump appointed Miller to the special IG post last Friday.
Recently fired ICIG Michael Atkinson is part of the 7.
Trump is looking to fire the CIA IG and others at the Department of Education.
IG reports have been used as another vehicle to attack President Trump while simultaneously covering up real crimes committed by anti-Trump bureaucrats.
For example, at the Monday Coronavirus Task Force press conference the media were trying to hit Trump up with a new "report" that came out from an anonymous HHS Inspector General that there is not enough testing at US hospitals.
Trump pushed back at the presser to find out that this IG was just appointed in January - then he pushed for more info and her name is Christi Grimm and she was a big part of HHS under Obama and heavily involved with Obamacare.
Now we come to find that this Christi Grimm is apparently spearheading the new "get Trump" effort to "investigate" him over the coronavirus response.

Trump replaces Pentagon IG, removing him from coronavirus relief oversight panel
President Trump has replaced the Pentagon's top watchdog a week after he was named to lead a committee charged with overseeing the $2 trillion coronavirus relief package.
Glenn Fine, who has served as acting Pentagon inspector general since 2016, will go back to being the principal deputy inspector general and will no longer lead the coronavirus relief oversight panel, his office said Tuesday.
"Yesterday, the president nominated Mr. Jason Abend for the position of DoD Inspector General," Dwrena Allen, spokeswoman at the Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General, said in an email. "The same day, the president also designated Mr. Sean W. O'Donnell, who is the Environmental Protection Agency Inspector General (EPA IG), to serve as the Acting DoD IG in addition to his current duties at the EPA."
The EPA IG's office similarly told The Hill that O'Donnell "is filling both roles for now" and that "no changes are expected at the EPA OIG."
Fine "remains focused and committed to the important mission of the DoD OIG," Allen added.
The move also means that Fine is no longer on the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee, she said.
The panel of inspectors general was created by the $2.2 trillion stimulus bill Congress passed last month to audit and investigate implementation of the bill.
Fine was appointed as chairman of the committee last week, a move that won praise across the political spectrum
"Glenn Fine has a good reputation as a tough federal prosecutor and former [Department of Justice] Inspector General, and must exercise his full oversight authority to ensure that the Trump administration implements the CARES Act as intended," Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a statement last week.
The move follows several steps Trump has taken to combat oversight of the bailout fund. After signing the relief package into law last month, the president issued a signing statement saying he would not allow the special inspector general for the relief program to report to Congress without his supervision.
And last week, he nominated one of his own White House lawyers, Brian Miller, for the special inspector general position.
O'Donnell has served as EPA inspector general since he was confirmed by voice vote in December. Prior to that he was a trial attorney in the criminal division of the Department of Justice.
Abend, who Trump nominated to take on the Pentagon inspector general post full time, is currently a senior policy adviser at U.S. Customs and Border Protection and was previously a special agent in the inspector general offices of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Trump Nominates White House Lawyer To Serve As 'Special Inspector General For Pandemic Recovery'
President Donald Trump officially nominated Brian Miller on Monday to serve as the Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery, a new position with the Treasury Department with oversight powers into the government's coronavirus response.
Miller currently serves as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Associate Counsel in the Office of White House Counsel. Trump first announced his intent to nominate Miller to this new position Friday.
The Senate received the nomination Monday morning and previously confirmed him to serve as the IG for the General Services Administration, where according to the White house, "he led more than 300 auditors, special agents, attorneys, and support staff in conducting nationwide audits and investigations."
"Miller also served in high-level positions within the Department of Justice, including as Senior Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General and as Special Counsel on Healthcare Fraud," the White House added. "He also served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, where he handled civil fraud, False Claims Act, criminal, and appellate cases."
Miller's nomination comes shortly after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, at the suggestion of Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff, launched a new select committee to investigate the president's response to the pandemic.
"We face a deadly virus and a battered economy with millions of Americans suddenly out of work. Congress has taken an important step in leading this crisis by passing three bills with over $2 trillion in emergency relief," she said of the effort. "We need to ensure those dollars are spent carefully and effectively."
House Majority Whip James Clyburn of South Carolina will chair the committee.
The White House did not respond to the Daily Caller's inquiries on when they would like to see a confirmation vote on Miller. Aides for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell confirmed they had received the nomination but did not elaborate when asked about a potential timeline for a confirmation vote.

Trump Tabs White House Lawyer for Virus Inspector General, Pelosi Opposes Nomination
President Donald Trump named a White House lawyer as inspector general for hundreds of billions of dollars approved by Congress for CCP virus relief, a selection opposed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
One of three oversight mechanisms established in the $2.2 trillion bill Trump signed last week after it passed Congress was a special inspector general to oversee $500 billion in funds that will be doled out by the Treasury Department to small businesses and corporations.
The White House announced on Friday that Trump selected Brian Miller, special assistant to the president and senior associate counsel in the White House Counsel's office, to serve in the position.

Ex-school deputy arrested on charges of neglect of duty in Parkland massacre
"PARKLAND, Fla. - Scot Peterson, the school security officer branded a coward for his inaction during the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, has been arrested for neglect of duty, Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony announced Tuesday.
Peterson, 56, had been nationally heckled and vilified for failing to confront the former student who gunned down and killed 17 students and staff at the Parkland school on Feb. 14, 2018.
The criminal charges, all but the perjury count, stem from the killings and injuries that happened on the third floor of the freshman building.
…Peterson has been booked into the Broward Main Jail on 11 criminal charges, including child neglect, culpable negligence and perjury. He also was fired.
…Peterson's arrest comes after a 15-month investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Broward state attorney's office.
…The investigation showed Peterson refused to investigate where the gunshots were coming from, retreated during the gunfire as victims were being shot, and directed other law enforcement who arrived on scene to remain 500 feet away from the building, FDLE spokeswoman Jessica Cary said in an emailed statement.
"The FDLE investigation shows former Deputy Peterson did absolutely nothing to mitigate the MSD shooting that killed 17 children, teachers and staff and injured 17 others," said FDLE Commissioner Rick Swearingen. "There can be no excuse for his complete inaction and no question that his inaction cost lives."
Also terminated was Sgt. Brian Miller.
"(Peterson and Miller) were found to have neglected their duties at MSD High School," Tony said in an emailed statement.
Peterson was arrested Tuesday afternoon after an administrative discipline hearing at the sheriff's office headquarters on Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
If convicted as charged, Peterson could face a maximum of nearly 97 years in state prison. His bond has been set at $102,000."

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A federal judge has let stand an Arkansas law requiring contractors to pledge not to boycott Israel, ruling that such a boycott is not protected by the First Amendment.
U.S. District Judge Brian Miller on Wednesday dismissed the lawsuit the Arkansas Times had filed challenging the 2017 law. The newspaper had asked the judge to block the law, which requires contractors to reduce their fees by 20 percent if they don't sign the pledge.
The Times' lawsuit said the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College refused to contract for advertising with the newspaper unless the Arkansas Times signed the pledge. The paper isn't engaged in a boycott against Israel.
Miller wrote that refusing to purchase certain goods or from certain places is not protected free speech.

More Arrests, Convictions & Lawsuits
FIRST CASE
Henry Wilkins IV, former Arkansas State Senator and Jefferson County Judge, who pleaded guilty in April to conspiring to commit offences against the United States, was scheduled for sentencing on December 7th after already having been delayed. It was then postponed again, until January 30, 2019, based on a sealed motion granted by Chief US District Judge Brian Miller in Little Rock. Both the government and Wilkins' attorneys filed a joint motion to postpone sentencing. Why would sentencing be postponed for a man who pleaded guilty eight months prior? What's in that newly sealed motion? Are they still working on a plea deal, and possibly gathering additional information to their ongoing investigation? Henry Wilkins IV comes from three generations of family members in the political arena, and the connections to the Bill and Hillary Clinton are significant, as seen later in this article.
The Arkansas swamp continues to bleed, while the spotlight shines on the Clinton Foundation. Part 1 of the Arkansas Swamp covered dozens of arrests, indictments, guilty pleas, and a key chart indicating potential upcoming arrests, from the ongoing investigations taking place in Little Rock, Arkansas. One sung like a bird, while another strong-armed others to remain silent, and yet another set out for murder-to-hire. It is important to review Part 1 to understand the magnitude of the Arkansas swamp, and the potential squeeze it may be putting on the Clinton Foundation. Their investigations have already connected senators, legislators, lobbyists, non-profits, and companies, spanning four states, with the primary focus in Arkansas. Some may believe that the Clintons haven't been involved in Arkansas dealings for quite some time - they would be mistaken.
Deputy AG Llyod Warford, head of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in Little Rock, made it very clear that there are ongoing investigations on a Federal level as well. This is what he had to say when asked if more indictments are coming:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Attorneys for an Arkansas newspaper asked a federal judge Friday to block a law requiring that contractors pledge not to boycott Israel, saying it forces businesses to give up their free speech rights in order to receive state money.
U.S. District Judge Brian Miller heard arguments in the Arkansas Times' lawsuit challenging the state's 2017 anti-boycott law. Miller said he hoped to rule soon on whether to block the law, which the Times and the American Civil Liberties Union argue is unconstitutional. The law requires contractors to reduce their fees by 20 percent if they don't sign the pledge.
The Times' lawsuit says the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College refused to contract for advertising with the newspaper unless the Arkansas Times signed the pledge. The paper isn't engaged in a boycott against Israel.
"It makes the plaintiff endorse the idea that the government can make an individual take a political position as a condition of getting money," Bettina Brownstein, an attorney for the ACLU of Arkansas, told Miller.
The state has argued that a boycott isn't constitutionally protected speech, and that the pledge doesn't force the Times to take a political position.
"It simply certifies a factual statement about whether or not the Times intends to boycott," Assistant Solicitor General Dylan Jacobs said.
Arkansas' law is similar to restrictions enacted in other states that have been challenged. The measures are aimed at a movement protesting Israel's policies toward Palestinians.
A federal judge in September blocked Arizona from enforcing a similar measure. A federal judge also blocked Kansas from enforcing its anti-boycott measure, but lawmakers rewrote the measure so that it no longer applied to individuals and nonprofits and only applied to state contracts worth $100,000 or more. Arkansas' law applies to contracts worth $1,000 or more.
A federal lawsuit was filed last month against a similar law in Texas.

Broward Sheriff Captain resigns, another placed on administrative leave
PARKLAND, FLA. (WSVN) - A Broward Sheriff's Office captain for the Parkland district has resigned from her position.
BSO Captain Jan Jordan filed her resignation papers and informed Sheriff Scott Israel Monday night of her decision. The resignation is effective immediately.
According to other deputies, Jordan was overwhelmed the day of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas massacre, and never attempted to confront the gunman.
In addition, BSO Sgt. Brian Miller has been placed on restrictive administrative duty in Cooper City, pending the outcome of a review of his response to shooting.
Miller is accused of parking near the school for 10 minutes, although he heard the gunshots.
Jordan's resignation comes on the heels of the several public safety commission meetings held about the shooting that left 17 victims deceased.
She will likely receive a full benefits package at Israel's discretion.
Parents and officials have been suggesting recommendations when it comes to school and gun safety.
Israel told the MSD Commission that he will take action against any deputy who chose inaction during the deadly shooting.

The event began in 2012. The group's only registration drive during a previous midterm election year, 2014, led to 154,500 people registering to vote, according to Time.
Brian Miller, executive director of Nonprofit VOTE, the group that runs the registration drive, told Time that the final tally is a sign of heightened interest in this year's midterms.
"I think people are realizing that midterms do matter and that it's vital for people to get engaged," Miller said, adding that the group had "better coordination" and more partners, including Facebook and Twitter, allowing them to recruit more potential voters.
Democratic and nonpartisan advocacy groups have been focusing heavily on voter registration this election cycle, hoping to increase turnout and put Congress back under the control of Democrats.
Former first lady Michelle Obama is co-chairing voter registration group When We All Vote, which is hitting the road with a number of events featuring celebrities.
The survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting have also urged young people to register to vote as part of their March For Our Lives movement.
