Pickton, Trudeau, Lucki: The Unholy Trinity

The attempted assassination of high-profile inmate Robert Pickton is raising eyebrows.

Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau may have had an interest in silencing serial killer Robert Pickton, who was viciously assaulted while he was in the process of releasing a tell-all book.

The infamous pig farmer was in the process of finishing a book where he planned to name the real culprits behind the killings attributed to him and his farm, as was reported by the Vancouver Sun.

He was attacked in prison by another inmate in what appears to be a botched assassination. He is currently clinging to life in the hospital at the time of writing this article.

If Pickton dies as a result of the assault, which is likely considering the severity of the attack and his old age, the real identities of his accomplices will go down with him.

Pickton is an elderly former pig farmer that was convicted of 6 counts of second-degree murder almost 20 years ago for the slaying of sex trade workers from the Vancouver area.

The pig farmer indicated on several occasions that he did not act alone, a theory shared by police investigators and survivors.

"It's been an open secret for more than 20 years that these murders were not committed solely by the hands of Robert Pickton," according to former Vancouver detective Lorimer Shenher.

A survivor told APTN News in 2010 she believes Pickton had accomplices that have not yet been brought to justice. She refused to go into detail during the interview, citing fear for her life.

RCMP attempts to destroy evidence
The RCMP, under Trudeau-appointed commissioner Brenda Lucki, made attempts to destroy evidence that was collected during the investigation, raising eyebrows.

In 2020, the federal police agency applied to the court to destroy some of the exhibits, a move that Pickton himself opposed in court.

Pickton told the court that destroying the evidence would prevent other perpetrators from being brought to justice.

The RCMP, now controlled by Trudeau-appointed commissioner Mike Duheme, currently wants to destroy 14,000 pieces of evidence, a move that is being contested by a multitude of advocates.

"Anytime you dispose of evidence, especially evidence that has DNA on it, you're signalling that there is no hope," stated crime investigator Sasha Reid.

Q Research General #25630: Trump Was Right About Everything Edition

In an April talk at the University of Toronto, Trudeau said he never forced anyone to get a COVID-19 vaccine. "While not forcing anyone to get vaccinated, I chose to make sure that all the incentives and all of the protections were there to encourage Canadians to get vaccinated," he told the crowd.
The claim is technically correct in that Trudeau never personally held someone down and jabbed a syringe into them. But it fails on many of the conventional definitions of "force."
By pandemic's end, unvaccinated status was sufficient to get you fired from a federally regulated industry, barred from most forms of transportation and severely restricted in your ability to exit and re-enter the country.

Shortly after the Emergencies Act was invoked in early 2022 to clear entrenched Freedom Convoy blockades in Ottawa, Trudeau stood up in the House of Commons to say that he'd done it primarily because police had been asking for it. "We have heard from the commissioner of the RCMP, police chiefs, experts and political leadership that it was essential to the police response, and that it offered precision and clarity as they did their important work," he said on March 1, 2022.
One of the first major discoveries of the Emergencies Act Inquiry, however, was that no police force had asked for the Emergencies Act. This is particularly true of then RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki, the only specific individual named in Trudeau's House of Commons statement.
Correspondence tabled before the commission would find that Lucki had raised doubts about the act being invoked, saying that law enforcement hadn't yet expended "all available tools" in clearing the blockades.

In May, an unnamed source within CSIS leaked to the Globe and Mail that, two years prior, they had uncovered information indicating that Conservative MP Michael Chong appeared to be the focus of targeted harassment by the People's Republic of China. Despite the CSIS source saying that they'd compiled these findings into a report, so little was done about it that nobody had even bothered to tell Chong.
Trudeau's immediate reaction was that he hadn't heard about the Chong allegations because CSIS had never told him. The intelligence agency "made the determination that it wasn't something that needed to be raised to a higher level because it wasn't a significant enough concern," Trudeau told a scrum of reporters.
But it took mere hours until this account was contradicted by Trudeau's own national security adviser, Jody Thomas. In a phone call, Thomas told Chong that there was indeed a CSIS report about him written in July, 2021, and that it had been sent not only to her office, but also several cabinet offices and the Privy Council Office - which works directly with the prime minister.

Incompetent RCMP Commissioner Resigns in Disgrace

Three months after saying she did not want to step aside, RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki is leaving her post as head of the Mounties.

Her announcement caps a long period of uncertainty over her future. The Globe and Mail reported in November the federal cabinet was dissatisfied with her stewardship of the RCMP - in particular her poor communication skills and the mishandling of major files such as the Nova Scotia mass shooting, systemic racism within the force and the use of the Emergencies Act to end last year's anti-vaccine mandate protests in Ottawa.

The announcement of her departure after less than five years on the job comes just before the expected release of the Public Order Emergency Commission's report into the federal government's use of the Emergencies Act.

In an e-mail distributed to members of the RCMP on Wednesday, Commissioner Lucki did not express regret about her tenure but acknowledged "of course there are things I could have done differently." She continued: "I leave knowing I did my best and take comfort that the RCMP is well placed to shine in its 150th year."

In a public statement, Commissioner Lucki said she has decided to retire. Her last day will be March 17.

In her message to fellow Mounties she told them the e-mail was "probably one of the hardest ones" she's had to write to the force. She said she'd spent months pondering her career. "I love the RCMP and I've loved being your Commissioner. I've spent much time in recent months reflecting on what this opportunity has meant to me."

Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino thanked Commissioner Lucki for her service in a tweet and said Ottawa will begin the process of selecting and appointing the next commissioner of the RCMP. "We will be searching for an exceptional new leader who will keep our communities safe while advancing the reforms necessary to maintain the confidence of all Canadians."

Commissioner Lucki, who has dealt with a series of controversies that has put the Trudeau government on the defensive, said in November she did not want to step aside. Her five-year term would have come up for renewal in March.

She told RCMP rank and file Wednesday in the e-mail that she had been uncertain about when to step down. "The decision to retire was not an easy one and I've been conflicted about the timing. I never wanted to be seen as running away and I know there's so much more to do. But it's my time."

In her letter to the RCMP, Commissioner Lucki said the past few years have been hard for policing and she suggested she did not always speak her mind in the face of public criticism.

"To say the last several years have been hard on our profession and on you, is an understatement. I want you to know that I've always been on your side. I've praised you and your work to anyone and everyone. I've advocated for you and defended this organization with as much courage and heart I could muster," she said.

"The 'Brenda' in me had to take quite a few hits on the chin at times when I needed to stay quiet and not engage in the noise. For those of you who know me well, staying quiet is not always my strong suit! But I swallowed the pride and tried to do what was best for the organization and all employees."

Testifying before the House public safety committee, RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki denied Monday she'd urged detectives to make public details of weapons used by Nova Scotia mass murderer Gabriel Wortman, and denied that pressure came from then-Public Safety Minister Bill Blair and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

"I did not interfere in the investigation around this tragedy," Lucki said.

"Specifically, I was not directed to publicly release information about weapons used by the perpetrator to help advance pending gun control legislation."

Former Public Safety Minister Bill Blair, who testified just prior to Lucki, echoed her denials of pressure from both his office and the PMO.

The allegations were uncovered in handwritten notes by RCMP Supt. Darren Campbell included in a report published by the mass casualty inquiry last month - detailing pressure Lucki allegedly put on investigators to release the details. …

Campbell's notes, backed by previous commission testimony by RCMP Communications Director Lia Scanlan, described a contentious telephone meeting after an April 28 press conference where a frustrated Lucki chastised officials for not releasing information on Wortman's firearms - claiming she'd promised both Blair and the Prime Minister the information would be made public.

… Details on the shooter's arsenal wouldn't be made public until a November 2020 National Post report that revealed his guns were illegally purchased in the United States and then smuggled into Canada…

Others on that infamous call, however, had different recollections.

Retired RCMP member and former provincial commander Lee Bergerman who told the committee she felt "blindsided" by Lucki, describing her conduct towards her team as inappropriate and disrespectful.

"The tone of her voice and what she said to all of us made it apparent she wasn't happy," she testified.

"She felt disrespected and disobeyed."

She testified both Campbell and Scanlan were particularly upset with Lucki's conduct, as was Chief Supt. Chris Leather - who described being 'taken aback.'

… Blair, who was public safety minister during the April 2020 mass shooting, denied accusations the government was relying on the information to justify strengthening gun control to Canadians, claiming intentions to ban so-called assault rifles dates back to the earliest days of the Trudeau government.

"The tragedy in Nova Scotia only deepened our resolve," Blair testified.

Dear Commissioner Brenda Lucki:

We respectfully submit this open letter to express our most sincere concerns and resolute stand against the forced coercive medical intervention of Canadians, and against the undue discrimination experienced by those exercising their lawful right to bodily autonomy. We are not against vaccinations, but as law enforcement officers, we cannot in good conscience willingly participate in enforcing mandates that we believe go against the best interests of the people we protect.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As Canadians, our constitutionally-protected freedoms precede the government, and may only be temporarily limited if the majority of evidence justifies such infringements as reasonable, provable, and guided by law. If presented with all available evidence in a court, we firmly believe the government implemented mandates would not hold up under scrutiny.
As experienced investigators, we look past what information is provided and focus on how the information is presented. A proper investigation should be conducted as objectively as possible, and follow the principle that it is better to have questions that cannot be answered than to have answers that cannot be questioned. A complete investigation must include full disclosure of all the facts of the case, even contradictory evidence. Why, then, is there little to no tolerance for free and open debate on this matter? Many credible medical and scientific experts are being censored. Accordingly, we rightly have concerns about "the science" we are being coerced to "follow".
As representatives of our communities within the RCMP and representatives of the RCMP in our communities, we have never witnessed such division in our country. This sense of "Us versus Them" will be further fueled by having a police force consisting only of "vaccinated" people, while serving communities consisting of "unvaccinated" people, which goes against the community policing model the RCMP has strived to achieve.
As law enforcement officers, we already face higher levels of stress and mental illnesses due to the nature of our work. These have been compounded - considerably - by mandates that we believe are deeply unethical, threatening our livelihood, and dividing society.

Coronavirus: Police to verify Canadians complying with quarantine order, RCMP says
Canadian police are to begin visiting homes to enforce the government's COVID-19 quarantine, the RCMP said on Friday, warning that "recklessly" failing to comply could result in a $1-million fine and three years in prison.

The RCMP said it had been asked by the Public Health Agency of Canada to help with national coordination and enforcement of the March 25 Quarantine Act Order that requires everyone arriving in Canada to stay home for 14 days.

Officers will speak to those under quarantine and advise them of the "potential consequences of non-compliance," the police force said in a statement that cautioned violators could face "significant penalties, including fines and imprisonment."
The maximum fine for failing to comply with the quarantine is $750,000 and up to six months in prison, but those who put others at risk could face harsher penalties: up to a $1-million levy and three years imprisonment.
"Arrests would be a last resort, based on the circumstance and the officer's risk assessment," the RCMP said. Instead, police can issue those charged with a notice or summons requiring them to appear in court.

"Choosing to ignore mandatory isolation and quarantine orders is not only against the law, it's also putting citizens, first responders, health professionals and the most vulnerable at risk of exposure to the virus," said RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki.

OTTAWA – The federal Conservatives want the RCMP watchdog to review the police force's refusal to launch a criminal investigation into whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau broke the law by accepting family vacations on the Aga Khan's private Caribbean island.

In a letter to the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP this week, Tory MP Michael Barrett says there are troubling elements the commission is well-placed to investigate.

Last May, Conservative MP Peter Kent asked RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki to begin a probe, saying a thorough investigation should be conducted to reassure Canadians about the integrity of government.

Kent's 26-page letter noted that members of Trudeau's family visited the private retreat of the Aga Khan, a billionaire philanthropist and the spiritual leader of the world's Ismaili Muslims, on three occasions from 2014 to 2017.

Lucki replied in August that the RCMP could not productively pursue a criminal investigation.

In December 2017, Mary Dawson, federal ethics commissioner at the time, found Trudeau contravened four sections of the Conflict of Interest Act in relation to a Christmas 2016 stay on the island, saying the holiday could reasonably be seen as a gift designed to influence the prime minister.

In his letter, Kent cited a Criminal Code provision that prohibits a government official from accepting a benefit of any kind from someone who has dealings with the government.

Dawson's report said the federal government had supported projects of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada by contributing nearly $330 million to initiatives in various countries.

The government also regularly consulted foundation representatives on current and emerging development trends and priorities, she noted.

Following Dawson's 2017 findings, opposition parties argued Trudeau should refund the treasury for all or part of the transportation and security costs related to the Christmas 2016 trip.

Trudeau acknowledged at the time he should have checked with the ethics commissioner's office before accepting the holiday, and said he would now clear all family vacations with the commissioner.

Now that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has resigned, many are asking if Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will share the same fate.

t has been a tumultuous last few months for Johnson, who has been repeatedly dogged by scandal after scandal while in power.

Earlier this week, the governing Tories saw numerous high-profile resignations, including 50 ministers and parliamentary aides abandoning ship.

While announcing his resignation, Johnson told the nation he would stay on until a new Conservative Party leader was chosen.

"The process of choosing that new leader should begin now. And today, I have appointed a cabinet to serve, as I will until a new leader is in place," said Johnson.

"I know that there will be many people who are relieved and perhaps quite a few who will also be disappointed. And I want you to know how sad I am to be giving up the best job in the world."

There are many similarities between Johnson's predicament and Trudeau's current status in the House of Commons.

Like Johnson, Trudeau has faced scandal after scandal, with the most recent incident involving RCMP commissioner Brenda Lucki who is accused of trying to interfere in the investigation of the Nova Scotia mass shooting.

The scandal that seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for Johnson was his appointment of MP Chris Pincher as deputy chief whip despite knowing that he was accused of groping two men.

Not only has Trudeau himself been accused of groping a reporter in 2000, but his cabinet was also plagued with allegations that former defence minister Harjit Sajjan was aware of sexual misconduct allegations made against chief military brass.

Conservative MP and deputy shadow minister Tako van Popta took to Twitter to argue that "changes can be made" to the government, citing Johnson's resignation.

Others, including the advocacy group Canada Proud, asked Canadians whether they think Trudeau should be removed from office like Johnson.

'Eventually, you informed us of the pressures and conversation with Minister Blair, which we clearly understood was related to the upcoming passing of the gun legislation…and there it was.'

Well it happened. As explained in my last report on the Mass Casualty Commission's (MCC) proceedings into Canada's deadliest mass shooting, more damning information regarding the Trudeau RCMP political interference scandal has come to light.

Towards the end of last Tuesday's MCC proceedings, an attorney named Jamie Van Wort took to the podium to request that the Commission make public six documents related to allegations of political interference in the Nova Scotia RCMP's investigation of Canada's 2020 mass shooting.

The allegations were first publicized when the Commission released detailed notes taken by Nova Scotia Mountie Darren Campbell, which allege that RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki, then Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair, and the Trudeau Liberal government colluded to exploit the massacre to strengthen Trudeau's gun ban agenda against legal firearm owners.

One of the six documents mentioned by Van Wort was a letter written by Lia Scanlan, the former Director of Communications for the Nova Scotia RCMP.

In the letter, which the Commission has since published, Scanlan scolds RCMP Commissioner Lucki for allegedly berating Senior Nova Scotia Mounties and attempting to compromise their investigation by pressuring them to prematurely release details about the guns mass murderer Gabriel Wortman used during the massacre for political gain during an April 28th, 2020 meeting.

"You personally attacked me, the work we had done and told us that you perceived our actions as a blatant sign of disrespect," wrote Scanlan to Lucki in relation to the Mounties' refusal to risk compromising the investigation to do Lucki's biddings.

Disturbingly, Scanlan added that Lucki told the Mounties during the meeting that they had "let the boys down" and that that term used to condemn the mounties was in relation to the two boys who witnessed their parents Jamie and Greg Blair, be murdered by Gabriel Wortman.

"To have anyone in the RCMP say we/I let the boys down. There is nothing that makes that acceptable, especially that it was said by a person, who by rank, is at the top of our organization," wrote Scanlan.

Scanlan also wrote that after Lucki had informed them of the pressure she was under after speaking with the Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair, which the mounties "clearly understood was related to the upcoming passing of the pending gun legislation," she was disgusted and realized that that was the catalyst for the conversation and perhaps a "justification" for what Lucki had been saying to the Mounties.

Another RCMP staffer has come forward with claims that Commissioner Brenda Lucki was letting political pressure influence her direction of the investigation into the 2020 mass killings in Nova Scotia.

The former head of communications for the Nova Scotia RCMP Lia Scanlan confirmed in an April 14, 2021 email that RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki attempted to interfere in the RCMP's Nova Scotia mass shooting investigation to advance the Trudeau government's gun control agenda.

Scanlan raised concerns in an email with Lucki, calling her conduct in a meeting with Nova Scotia RCMP representatives "appalling, unprofessional and extremely belittling."

Scanlan specifically called out Lucki for operating based on political considerations set out by Public Safety Minister Bill Blair, to support the government's gun control policies.

One of RCMP commissioner Brenda Lucki's predecessors is standing by Supt. Darren Campbell after he claimed that his superior allegedly interfered in the Nova Scotia mass shooting to help the Liberals pass gun control legislation.

Former commissioner Bob Paulson and a number of other force veterans are standing in solidarity with Campbell after the Liberal government attempted to cast shade on the integrity of his allegations.

"Darren is one of the best investigators in the force and a highly reliable officer with tremendous integrity," Paulson told the Globe and Mail.

"You won't find a practising police officer who will speak ill of Darren Campbell."

In a note from the Mass Casualty Commission published by the Halifax Examiner earlier this week, Campbell states that Lucki "made a promise" to former public safety minister Bill Blair to reveal the weapons used by the shooter Gabriel Wortman in Canada's worst massacre to date.

"The Commissioner said she had promised the Minister of Public Safety and the Prime Minister's Office that the RCMP (we) would release this information. According to the Halifax Examiner, Lucki "made a promise" to Blair in the midst of the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting. Soon after Lucki pressured her officers to release information regarding the weapons used by the killer.

Notes by RCMP officers responding to the shooting reveal that Lucki was not happy with the way law enforcement responded to the incident in relation to the guns used by the shooter, Gabriel Wortman.

According to an email from Poilievre's campaign team, "Today, candidate for Prime Minister Pierre Poilievre demanded that Minister of Public Safety resign for making false statements to Canadians in the House of Commons and creating a fake excuse to invoke the emergencies act."

Poilievre cites an instance in April when Mendicino, knowingly or otherwise, explicitly spread false information regarding the justifications used in invoking the Emergencies Act.

In late April, Mendicino claimed, "It was on the advice of law enforcement that we invoked the Emergencies Act."

But law enforcement disputes this.

"No, there was never a question of requesting the Emergencies Act," RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki said on May 11.

Former Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly also disputed Mendicino.

"I did not make that request. I'm not aware of anybody else in the Ottawa Police Service who did," said Sloly.

Mendicino subsequently attempted to walk back his claims, suggesting law enforcement didn't ask for the Emergencies Act to be invoked specifically but said they wanted the powers included in it.

"The request was for the powers, which required the invocation of the Emergencies Act," Mendicino said.

However, Poilievre isn't buying it.

According to Poilievre, "It's clear that Minister made false statements in the House of Commons. And it wasn't just about something trivial. He wanted to give Trudeau cover to invoke the Emergencies Act, freeze people's bank accounts, and trample on civil liberties."

Poilievre then demanded that Marco Mendicino resign.

"The Minister made false statements. If he messed up, then he's incompetent. If he lied, then he's dishonest. Either way, he can't keep this important job."

Bell made the revelation during a Commons house affairs committee meeting on Tuesday when questioned by Conservative MP Andrew Scheer.

"Did the Ottawa police make a request to the federal government to invoke the Emergencies Measures Act? Yes or no?" asked Scheer.

"So, we were involved in conversations with our partners and the political ministries," Bell answered. "We didn't make a direct request for the Emergencies Act."

Bell's statement comes only days after RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki also told the inquiry tasked with investigating Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's use of emergency powers that the federal policing agency made no such request.

"No, there was never a question of requesting the Emergencies Act," said Lucki last week.

Since Trudeau invoked the act in February, members of the Liberal government - including Trudeau himself - have repeatedly tried to justify the decision by claiming that law enforcement called on the government to invoke emergency powers.

"When illegal blockades hurt workers and endangered public safety, police were clear that they needed tools not held by any federal, provincial or territorial law," Trudeau said on Apr. 27. "It was only after we got advice from law enforcement that we invoked the Emergencies Act."

"In RCMP jurisdiction, we successfully used a measured approach and existing legislation to resolve border blockades," Commissioner Brenda Lucki told the special joint committee of parliamentarians reviewing the declaration of emergency on May 10.

After truckers from the Freedom Convoy arrived in Ottawa on Jan. 29 to demand the lifting of COVID-19 mandates and restrictions, solidarity border blockades started appearing across the country in B.C., Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act for the first time on Feb. 14 to remove the protests and blockades, citing the economic harm they were inflicting on the country.

"The blockades are harming our economy and endangering public safety. Critical supply chains have been disrupted. This is hurting workers who rely on these jobs to feed their families," Trudeau said at the time.

The blockade at the Pacific Highway border crossing in Surrey, B.C., was cleared by the RCMP on Feb. 14.

Protesters at the Coutts border crossing in Alberta voluntarily left the site on the morning of Feb. 15.

Protesters at the Emerson border crossing in Manitoba left on Feb. 16 after negotiating with police that no arrests would be made.

The most costly action for Canada-U.S. trade was the blockade at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, but that action was not under RCMP jurisdiction and it was cleared by police on Feb. 13, a day before the public order emergency was declared.

If the RCMP did not need to use powers granted by the act, such as the ability to designate no-protest zones, compel towing companies to remove vehicles, or freeze protesters' financial accounts, Lucki said the act had a deterring effect on participants. Continue…

It infringes on the fundamental belief in our society that the individual has the right and freedom to choose. The choice of whether to receive medical treatments has always been an individual's right in Canada," says the group called Mounties for Freedom in an open letter dated October 21 sent to RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki.

RCMP are investigating a weekend fire at a church located on the Fox Lake Indian reserve, 550 kilometres north of Edmonton in Alberta.

The RCMP told media in a statement that emergency crews responded some time around 10 p.m. on Saturday night after reports of a fire at the Fox Lake Community Church:

…Mounties said smoke was observed coming from the interior of the structure as they arrived on scene.

The Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire.

"The building is still standing but sustained significant damage to the interior," RCMP said. "A fire investigator attended the scene and was able to determine that the fire was deliberately set."

At last count, more than 50 churches in Canada have been burnt to the ground or vandalized. Little wonder that hundreds of people gathered at Celebration Square in Mississauga, Ont. last Saturday to take part in a rally called Stop the Burning of the Churches in Canada.

You would think that condemning arson and vandalism against places of worship would be a no-brainer; but alas, the silence has been deafening from our so-called leaders. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau refuses to weigh in on this issue. Also tongue-tied are Public Safety Minister Bill Blair and RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki. As for Trudeau's best pal, Gerald Butts, he "understands" the passion for the destruction.

Appalling.

As for the mainstream media, these ongoing atrocities always fail to make the front page (if they get covered at all, that is). It is a miracle no one has died during these acts of terrorism.

And yet, one must ponder: would there be a different reaction if these places of worship were mosques or synagogues or temples? We suspect that if these grotesque attacks were carried out on these institutions, a royal commission would already have been struck by now.

The unspoken "justification" for these attacks is the disturbing news that is emerging regarding unmarked graves of First Nations children who attended residential schools decades ago. This is an atrocity, too, but how do two wrongs make a right? How does burning down a church on First Nations land that was used by the community for everything from weddings to funerals help matters in the here and now?

One of the keynote speakers at Saturday's rally was Raheel Raza, who lamented that this ongoing desecration of churches is exactly the sort of policy ISIS and Taliban thugs take part in. (Raheel is also the chairman of the Rebel News advisory board.) The disturbing thing is that this is not occurring overseas, but in Canada in 2021.

Conspicuous due to their absence at the rally were the politicians. Neither Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie nor the MP and MPP for the region could be bothered to show up. Indeed, not a single elected leader was in attendance to condemn the ongoing atrocities against Christian churches. How shocking, how cowardly is that?

To make this dire matter even worse, very little - if anything at all - has been said or done by our government leaders and law enforcement officials to appropriately address this surge of targeted crimes.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was completely silent on the issue until a press conference in July, when he finally commented that burning down churches is "unacceptable and wrong." But Trudeau still refuses to refer to this wave of attacks as hate crimes or terrorism.

Our national leader even publicly sympathized with the perpetrators, stating that he "understand[s] the anger" of those who are vandalizing and burning down Canada's churches and that it is "fully understandable."

But what does the average person think? Are most Canadians even aware that this is going on?

Would they consider these acts to be hate crimes, or terrorism?

Or would they perhaps say that this behaviour is "understandable" - or maybe even justified? I took to the streets of downtown Toronto to ask.

Coronavirus: Police to verify Canadians complying with quarantine order, RCMP says

Canadian police are to begin visiting homes to enforce the government's COVID-19 quarantine, the RCMP said on Friday, warning that "recklessly" failing to comply could result in a $1-million fine and three years in prison.

The RCMP said it had been asked by the Public Health Agency of Canada to help with national coordination and enforcement of the March 25 Quarantine Act Order that requires everyone arriving in Canada to stay home for 14 days.

Officers will speak to those under quarantine and advise them of the "potential consequences of non-compliance," the police force said in a statement that cautioned violators could face "significant penalties, including fines and imprisonment."

The maximum fine for failing to comply with the quarantine is $750,000 and up to six months in prison, but those who put others at risk could face harsher penalties: up to a $1-million levy and three years imprisonment.

"Arrests would be a last resort, based on the circumstance and the officer's risk assessment," the RCMP said. Instead, police can issue those charged with a notice or summons requiring them to appear in court.

"Choosing to ignore mandatory isolation and quarantine orders is not only against the law, it's also putting citizens, first responders, health professionals and the most vulnerable at risk of exposure to the virus," said RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki.
