BREAKING: Kamala Harris Promotes 'Dangerous Conspiracy Theory' About Coronavirus Vaccine
The Biden campaign promoted what is being called a "dangerous conspiracy theory" about a potential coronavirus vaccine on Saturday, suggesting that the vaccine may not be safe due to it being rushed for political reasons ahead of the November elections.
Speaking to CNN's Dana Bash, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), the vice presidential running mate of Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden, claimed that Trump may muzzle scientific experts and that the president was acting out of desperation.
"Do you trust that in the situation that we're in now that public health experts and scientists will get the last word on the efficacy of a vaccine?" Bash asked.
"If past is prologue, that they will not, they'll be muzzled," Harris claimed. "They'll be suppressed. They will be sidelined because he's looking at an election coming up in less than 60 days and he's grasping for whatever he can get to pretend that he has been a leader on this issue when has not."
"So, let's just say there's a vaccine that is approved and even distributed before the election," Bash said. "Would you get it?"
"Well, I think that's going to be an issue for all of us," Harris answered. "I will say that I would not trust Donald Trump and it would have to be a credible source of information that talks about the efficacy and the reliability of whatever he's talking about. I will not take his word for it."
Jake Schneider, Deputy Director of Rapid Response for the Trump campaign, responded by writing on Twitter: "And here is Kamala Harris spreading a dangerous conspiracy theory about a potential coronavirus vaccine."
Republican National Committee (RNC) spokesperson Steve Guest responded to Harris's remarks by writing: "So much sciencing from Joe Biden's running mate Kamala Harris. Such a dangerous and deeply cynical message to promote."
Trump campaign spokesperson Andrew Clarke responded by writing on Twitter: "When reporters are done asking Biden how his 'soul' is doing, maybe they can get around to asking whether comments like these from Biden and Harris are endangering public health."
Even critics of President Donald Trump responded by calling Harris' remarks "grossly irresponsible."
Media figures weighed in by noting that Harris' remarks are in line with "anti-vaccine rhetoric."

Q Research General #9070: How do you 'shape' a story? Edition
Les Wexman has a mansion in New Albany OH, and fellow resident Julia DeVillers is children's book author, who has a project at Justice Studios, offshoot of tween apparel retailer once part of Wexman's Limited Group.
Diggs Needed.
=======
Dive Brief:
Justice, the tween apparel banner in Ascena Retail Group's stable, on Tuesday announced the launch of a new entertainment division dubbed Justice Studios.
The new entertainment arm will create original content including graphic novels, video series, music, documentaries and more, in partnership with Columbus, Ohio-based entertainment and production company Elevate Pictures, according to a press release from the companies emailed to Retail Dive.
The companies say they already have three projects in the works: a graphic novel series, "Ultra Squad," by bestselling young adult author Julia DeVillers; a documentary, "Finding Clara," a behind-the-scenes look at four young dancers in a Nutcracker production; and a reprise of their "Live Justice" Awards, which they're expanding into a year-round platform to empower and honor "remarkable tween girls who are making a difference."
Dive Insight:
Justice is easily the most successful banner in Ascena's stable, and, in creating content around it, the company is taking full advantage of the loyalty it enjoys from tween girls and their parents.
"We continue to look for unique ways to engage our audience outside the store, and we view Justice Studios as the next step in our retail evolution," Justice President Lece Lohr said in a statement.
In its most recent quarter, Ascena posted its first enterprise-level positive comp since the second quarter of fiscal 2015, thanks in large part to its youth brand. Justice same-store sales rose 15%, as premium brands Ann Taylor rose 1% and Loft rose 7%; discount brands Maurices rose 1% as Dressbarn fell 5%; and plus size brands Lane Bryant rose 2% and Catherines rose 3%.
Justice grew out of the Limited Too brand for tween girls that was once part of Les Wexner's Limited group. It's "the only concept that has hope," according to Jane Hali, CEO of investment research firm Jane Hali & Associates. "Tween girls are always looking for fashion and to appear more grown up," she told Retail Dive earlier this year. "Justice does a great job of keeping the fashion exciting to the tween and acceptable to the mom."
In fact, Justice serves as a guide for the entire company, according to GlobalData Retail Managing Director Neil Saunders. "It needs to replicate the thinking it has employed with Justice to the rest of the business and use this to create a much clearer and more compelling proposition across all of its brands," he said in comments emailed to Retail Dive last month regarding its fourth quarter.
The company may be doing just that. Andrew Clarke, who since last year had been merchandising chief at Justice and has two decades of retail experience, in August was named Loft president. But his success there may not translate to Loft, considering the tween brand's unique position, Hali warned.

Victoria bushfires: Winery owner's devastation after bushfire destroys 'life's work'
Andrew Clarke, the owner of the Jinks Winery that was destroyed by the Bunyip State Park bushfire, has told 9News of the devastation to his property in light of the blaze.
"Yesterday afternoon we were in Bunyip and saw it on the television and it was pretty distressful having my kids there and seeing their reaction to all of that - it was horrible. It was really bad news," he said.
"I dreading going out there because, I've lived there for 40 years. I don't want to see the devastation but I'm going to have to face up to it.
