Why? |
They had a month to get in there and shred the trail of all the illegal activities before Trump had powers. There is an FBI informant who worked as a contractor for CIA who has publicly stated that the CIA was tapping all kinds of people including Arpaio and Trump, going back several years. It is littered throughout court documents going back to (?) a divorce case in Arizona, where Arpaio got word of it first and presumably tipped off Trump long before Rogers. This person was an FBI informant as well but all his information was surpressed. There is a long trail of his existence and claims. The NYT tried to smear him via CIA quotes that he was a they years back but then they turned around and hired him again, apparently mad skillz. This guy knows where bodies are buried.

The emphasis seems to be on the bottom line of page 1. Comped FBI/DOJ/(WH/) used Title I in order to allow more vicious surveillance of Trump and campaign. To do so, they misrepresented Carter Page as a foreign spy, concealing from FISC that just weeks before Carter Page was a paid FBI asset and trusted witness for the US government.
