Dozens of Green Party Candidates Investigated over Alleged Antisemitism: Report

According to a report from the Daily Mail, over 30 Green candidates for local councils are being investigated by their own party amid accusations of widespread antisemitism within the far-left party run by Jewish-heritage London Assembly Member Zack Polanski.

The issue came to the fore last week after two Green council candidates, Saiqa Ali and Sabine Mairey, were both reportedly arrested on "suspicion of stirring up racial hatred" over alleged antisemitic social media posts.

The left-wing Labour Party, which has been bleeding supporters to the more radical Greens, is said to have produced a dossier of social media posts by 25 Green Party candidates, supposedly including a string of "harrowing anti-Semitism, dangerous conspiracy theories and appalling comments supporting Hamas."

Meanwhile, Green leader Polanski, who has openly courted the UK Muslim vote, was revealed to have liked posts that accused Prime Minister Starmer of being on the payroll of Israel and high-profile Jews.

In the wake of the recent apparently antisemitic mass stabbing attack in Golders Green, London, Polanski came under heavy criticism for sharing a post which claimed that Met Police officers were "repeatedly and violently kicking a mentally ill man in the head" while attempting to detain the knifeman.

The post drew the ire of Met Police chief Mark Rowley, who described it as "inaccurate and misinformed commentary" while describing the heroic actions of the officers as "nothing short of extraordinary". For his part, Polanski accused Britain's top law enforcement officer of interfering in the elections by publicly denouncing his post.

Regardless, the incident appeared to have seriously damaged the rising leftist star's sheen, with a YouGov survey finding that Polanski's unfavourability rating rose by a staggering 8 per cent following the Golders Green attack, to 47 per cent, compared to just 22 per cent favourable.

Prime Minister Starmer was withering in his criticism of the Green leader, saying on Friday: "You have to make a decision in that split moment according to the situation as you understand it to be. And for politicians to wade in, as Zack Polanski did, is disgraceful. He's not fit to lead any political party."

Controversy surrounding the Green leader continued on Tuesday, with The Times reporting that he had falsely claimed in 2022 to be a British Red Cross spokesman while running for a leadership role in the Greens.

Speaking on the BBC's Today programme on Wednesday - the day before voters head to the polls for local elections across the UK - Polanski admitted that he had used "the wrong word" when describing his role with the Red Cross, which appears to have amounted to hosting fundraisers for the charity.

Mr Polanski's past has become fodder for his opponents and the British tabloids, with the London Assembly member reportedly previously claiming that he had the ability to increase the size of women's breasts through the power of hypnosis.

While he claims to have been "misrepresented", the BBC revealed that in 2013, Polanski told BBC Radio Humberside that there was "anecdotal evidence, at least, of a growth in breast size" as a result of his hypnosis technique.

Commenting on his opponent's latest scandal on Wednesday, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage quipped that perhaps Mr Polanski is a "fantasist".

King Charles becomes patron of Jewish charity after London arson attack

The Royal Communications at Buckingham Palace told The Jerusalem Post that His Majesty has accepted the patronage and that it has been in the works for some time.

Britain's King Charles has agreed to become the patron of one of the country's largest Jewish charities, it said on Tuesday, a day after the suspected antisemitic arson attack in north London.

The Community Security Trust, which advises Britain's estimated 280,000 Jews on security matters, said the king had accepted its invitation to be its patron, reflecting the monarch's "longstanding commitment to promoting tolerance, inclusion, and interfaith understanding."

"This is a powerful recognition of [the King's] longstanding support for the Jewish community and the fight against antisemitism," said CST.

The Royal Communications at Buckingham Palace told The Jerusalem Post that His Majesty has accepted the patronage and that it has been in the works for some time. It added that the patronage was not in direct response to Monday's arson and that the King's support for the Jewish community is well documented.

Last year, Charles visited a synagogue in northern England following an attack that left two Jewish worshipers dead. He said at the time he was "deeply shocked and saddened" and met some of those who had been inside when it took place.

In the early hours of Monday, four ambulances belonging to Jewish charity Hatzalah were set on fire in an attack that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said was "deeply shocking," while police are investigating a possible link to Iran.

In Britain, concern has mounted about rising levels of antisemitism, and the CST said that last year was the country's second worst on record for incidents.

"It is too early for me to attribute last night's attack in Golders Green to the Iranian state… but whoever was responsible, the impact is serious," London police chief Mark Rowley told the CST's annual dinner on Monday.

He said counter-terrorism police were looking into an online claim of responsibility by an Islamist group, which has said it was responsible for other attacks across Europe and has Iranian state links.

Lord Daniel Finkelstein, a trustee of the CST, told the dinner crowd that the King is the community's "greatest ally."

Referring to the arson, he said, "We are not just Jews; we are British Jews. We stay strong, and we stay here. We have seen worse, and we have come through it."

New Facial Recognition Vans Rolled Out For Use By 7 More UK Police Forces

The Metropolitan Police, South Wales Police and Essex Police have been using the facial recognition vans for some time to mixed receptions.

The software enables officers to use cameras mounted on top of their vans to locate people on their watchlists by filming the surrounding area.

Home Office funding has been provided for new facial recognition vans in Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire, Bedfordshire, Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley and Hampshire.

The Met released a report last month which said that from September 2024 to September 2025 the software had a false alert rate of 0.0003 percent from more than three million scans.

Civil liberties and anti-racism groups criticised the software for having a "well-documented history of inaccurate outcomes and racial bias" ahead of the Notting Hill Carnival this year.

In response, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley acknowledged that the software was "limited" when it was used at the Carnival in 2016 and 2017 but has made "considerable progress" since then.

Ahead of the new rollout, Chief Inspector Andy Hill, of Surrey Police, was asked if he still harboured concerns about false readings from the technology.

He said: "There's been a lot of development with the software, a lot of national testing to give us confidence in the software and, at the last Notting Hill Carnival this year, their positive alerts were much higher."

The police watchlists uploaded to the van are bespoke and will include details and photos of wanted people and people subject to court orders like sex offenders.

If their faces are scanned by the van's cameras it will alert the officer to the match, and they can verify whether the comparison is correct and take action.

"It's a positive step in terms of using the latest technology available to us, and it's about pursuing criminals, it's about investigating crime thoroughly and also reassuring the public that we are out and about and we are visible and we're doing our job," Mr Hill said.

Across the seven new centres, 10 new vans are to be deployed including one in Surrey and another in Sussex which will at times be used in tandem.

The police have said that images of people walking past the van which do not set off an alert will be deleted in less than a second.

Mr Hill said: "We want to be as open and transparent about our deployments, we publish them on our website at least seven days in advance, and we'll publish the results afterwards as well,

"And during the deployment, we've got signage up to inform people that they're entering a zone of live facial recognition with information on that, and also they can talk to any of our officers at any time about the technology."

Surrey Police will be deploying a Live Facial Recognition van in Redhill on November 13.

The Metropolitan Police in London, England, say they are currently pursuing only "tens of cases" in their large-scale review of historic child sex abuse, even though nearly 9,000 were initially flagged for potential reinvestigation. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley told officials, including London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan, that after examining 2,200 of those cases in detail, just 1,200 still fell within the parameters of the inquiry. However, he added that once all preliminary checks are completed, an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 cases may ultimately qualify for renewed investigation.

Rowley urged caution in describing the review as a probe into "grooming gangs," explaining that the national audit had used an expansive definition that included familial abuse, institutional failures, peer-on-peer exploitation, and online offending. Because of this wide scope, he warned that the public perception of grooming gangs does not necessarily align with the types of cases being examined. He stressed that the offenders reflect "the diversity of London's population," which is around two-thirds non-white."We do not see the typology reported elsewhere where there have been cases of offending committed by groups of Pakistani men on white British children being the sole or majority case," he claimed.

Mayor Sadiq Khan also faced criticism over accusations that he downplayed grooming gang concerns and mocked victims by Conservative Susan Hall. "In January, I asked if we had grooming gangs in London. You dismissed my question by pretending you didn't know what I meant," Hall said.

Other investigations have described police and social services repeatedly missing opportunities to intervene, particularly in cases involving vulnerable white girls targeted by older South Asian men working in coordinated groups. Police and local officials feared being accused of racism, or damaging so-called "community relations."Police forces outside London have recently announced new arrests linked to historic grooming gang abuse, including a case in West Yorkshire in which 19 men were detained on suspicion of offences such as rape, sexual assault, and trafficking.

The Metropolitan Police has reopened 9,000 cases in a huge grooming gangs probe after the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan previously said there were none.

The huge announcement comes after an Express/MyLondon investigation exposed several potential grooming gang cases in London that were overlooked.

Khan has repeatedly stated there were "no reports" or "indications" that London was blighted by the type of abuse that affected towns like Rochdale and Rotherham.

But in a stunning release on Friday evening, the Met has now revealed it has 9,000 cases to reassess, seen exclusively in a letter from Sir Mark Rowley to Sir Sadiq Khan seen by the Express.

In the letter, Rowley tells Khan he is "responding to questions about child sexual exploitation" adding that "any sexual offending against children is abhorrent but group-based offending, including that characterised as 'Grooming Gangs', is particularly insidious. And devasting in its profound impact on the children affected."

He adds that he knows that "historically and across the UK, the cases of these child victims have not always been recognised and thoroughly investigated. Too often, victims have been disbelieved and even judged at times."

But he added that "the Met is committed to safeguarding all victims of these terrible offences and wherever possible bringing those responsible to justice."

The Metropolitan Police will stop investigating "non-crime hate incidents" after it emerged that Graham Linehan will face no further action over social media posts about transgender issues.
The Father Ted and IT Crowd creator, 57, was detained at London Heathrow Airport last month on suspicion of inciting violence over three gender-critical posts he had made online.
One post on X, formerly known as Twitter, read: "If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops, and if all else fails, punch him in the balls."
His arrest after flying in from Arizona on September 1 sparked major controversy, with politicians and Harry Potter author JK Rowling among those who criticised Scotland Yard.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer told police to focus on 'serious crimes'.
Sir Mark Rowley, the force's commissioner, said at the time that officers are in "an impossible position" when dealing with statements made on the internet.
Following Linehan's announcement on Monday that a probe into his comments were dropped, a Met spokesman said: "We understand the concern around this case.
"The commissioner has been clear he doesn't believe officers should be policing toxic culture war debates, with current laws and rules on inciting violence online leaving them in an impossible position.
"As a result, the Met will no longer investigate non-crime hate incidents. We believe this will provide clearer direction for officers, reduce ambiguity and enable them to focus on matters that meet the threshold for criminal investigations."
A non-crime hate incident is an allegation perceived by a complainant to be motivated by hostility towards a particular characteristic, such as sexual identity, but which is not a criminal offence.

Irish comedian arrested in Britain for jokes on Twitter

Health Secretary Wes Streeting has said ministers need to "look at" laws concerning online speech, following the arrest of comedian Graham Linehan.

The health secretary said such laws had put "more expectation on police" and "diluted the focus and priorities of the public", adding "that's obviously something we need to look at".

Streeting told the BBC it was "very easy for people to criticise police" who were only enforcing laws that had been passed by MPs, saying ministers wanted officers to focus on street crime rather than posts on social media.

His comments come after the Father Ted co-creator was arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of inciting violence in posts on the X website.

The arrest prompted a backlash from figures such as author JK Rowling and opposition parties including the Conservatives, who branded the arrest an "absurd infringement of free speech".

In a statement, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said "officers involved in the arrest had reasonable grounds to believe an offence had been committed" under a law called the Public Order Act.

Sir Mark said "reasonable people would agree that genuine threats of physical violence against an identified person or group should be acted upon by officers".

But the police chief said in "lesser cases…policing has been left between a rock and a hard place by successive governments".

He said: "I don't believe we should be policing toxic culture wars debates and officers are currently in an impossible position.

"I have offered to provide suggestions to the Home Office on where the law and policy should be clarified.

"Greater clarity and common sense would enable us to limit the resources we dedicate to tackling online statements to those cases creating real threats in the real world."

When asked about Linehan's arrest at Prime Minister's Questions, Sir Keir Starmer said "we must ensure police focus on the most serious issues".

"That includes tackling issues like anti-social behaviour, knife crime and violence," he prime minister said. "We have a long history of free speech in this country. I'm very proud of that and I will always defend it."

When asked about the Linehan case on the BBC's Today programme, Streeting echoed those words.

"As the prime minister and home secretary have been clear, we want the police to focus on policing streets rather than tweets," the health secretary said.

"But the thing we are mindful of, as a government that backs the police to keep us safe, is that police are there to enforce the laws that we as Parliament legislate for.

"So if over the years, with good intentions, Parliament has layered more and more expectation on police, and diluted the focus and priorities of the public, that's obviously something we need to look at."

Pressed on whether the law should be changed, Streeting said: "When it comes to speech, context is king. We do have to, as legislators, tread really carefully when it comes to boundaries of free speech."

Streeting said it was "hard for the police sometimes, because they have to apply the law as written, not the law as it was intended".

He also said "we are all - let's be honest - quite anxious" about some of the arrests and prosecutions over comments online.

Streeting added: "And you think, is that really what Parliament intended when we wrote these laws? So we've got to get the law right. Police are there to enforce the law that parliament makes."

Mr Linehan, 57, said he had been detained by five armed officers at Heathrow Airport after flying in from the US.

He said in an online Substack article that officials then became concerned for his health and took him to hospital.

The Metropolitan Police said that a man in his 50s had been arrested on 1 September at Heathrow Airport and taken to hospital.

The police said his condition was not life-threatening and he was bailed pending further investigation.

In his Substack article, Mr Linehan said his arrest was related to three posts on X from April.

The first post, from his X feed, said: "If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls."

Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch was critical of the arrest, saying: "Sending five officers to arrest a man for a tweet isn't policing, it's politics. Under Labour, we routinely see burglary, knife crime and assaults go unsolved, while resources are wasted on thought-policing."

But new Green Party leader Zack Polanski told BBC Newsnight the posts were "totally unacceptable" and the arrest seemed "proportionate".

Sir Max Hill, the former director of public prosecutions for England and Wales, said police use various laws, such as the Public Order Act, to prosecute people accused of breaking the law through their speech.

Sir Max said people can be prosecuted for inciting violence.

"If you don't have that mechanism, then I'm afraid chaos ensues," he said. "It is possible to cross over into criminality by words alone."

Shami Chakrabarti, a Labour peer and former director of Liberty, a civil liberties group, said "the public order statute book and speech offences in particular do need an overarching review".

She said some offences related to alarm and distress were "too broad".

"But inciting violence must always be a criminal offence," Baroness Chakrabarti added.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage is expected to raise the Linehan case and rail against "censorship" in the UK, when he gives evidence to the House Judiciary Committee in the US on free speech on Wednesday.

Senior American politicians, including US Vice President JD Vance, have raised concerns about freedom of speech in the UK and prosecutions over comments posted online.

Since coming to office this year, the US vice president has repeatedly criticised measures like the UK's Online Safety Act and claimed free speech in Europe was "in retreat".

The case of Lucy Connolly, who was jailed for stirring up racial hatred against asylum seekers following the Southport attack last year, has been highlighted by some politicians in the debate about free speech in the UK.

Separately, Mr Linehan is also facing a separate charge of harassment - which he denies - and is due to appear in court on Thursday.

1. Introduction
The threat from extremism has been steadily growing for many years. While the government and its partners have worked hard to combat this threat, the pervasiveness of extremist ideologies in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Israel on 7 October 2023 highlighted the need for further action. This new definition of extremism adds to the tools to tackle this ever-evolving threat. This is in line with the first duty of government - to keep our citizens safe and our country secure. The definition updates the one set out in the 2011 Prevent Strategy and reflects the evolution of extremist ideologies and the social harms they create.
Most extremist materials and activities are not illegal and do not meet a terrorism or national security threshold. Islamist and Neo-Nazi groups in Britain, some of which have not been proscribed, are operating lawfully but are seeking to replace our democracy with an Islamist and Nazi society respectively. They are actively radicalising others and are openly advocating for the erosion of our fundamental democratic rights. Their aim is to subvert our democracy[footnote 1].
Extremism can lead to the radicalisation of individuals, deny people their full rights and opportunities, suppress freedom of expression, incite hatred, erode our democratic institutions, social capital and cohesion, and can lead to acts of terrorism. The Independent Review of Prevent made clear the importance of placing greater emphasis on tackling ideology and its radicalising effects and in its response the government committed "to challenge extremist ideology that leads to violence, but also that which leads to wider problems in society, such as the erosion of freedom of speech"[footnote 2].
The new definition sits alongside a set of cross-government engagement principles. The definition and engagement principles will be used by government departments to ensure that they are not inadvertently providing a platform, funding or legitimacy to individuals, groups or organisations who attempt to advance extremist ideologies.
The definition and engagement principles will be the first in a series of new measures to counter extremism and religious hatred and promote social cohesion and democratic resilience. This work will complement the government's updated Prevent and CONTEST Strategies, the Defending Democracy Taskforce and the Integrated Review as part of a collective endeavour to uphold our national security and resilience.
The ways in which extremist agendas are pursued have evolved since extremism was first defined by government. As such, government's approach must adapt too. Our new definition is narrow and sharper, and provides more specificity on extremist ideologies, behaviour and harms. The new definition draws on the important work of Dame Sara Khan and Sir Mark Rowley as set out in the 2021 Operating with Impunity report which demonstrated that it is possible to protect freedom of expression whilst countering some of the most dangerous extremist activity taking place in Britain. This new definition does not seek to stymie free speech or freedom of expression. There are concerns that those expressing conservative views will be classified as extremist. This is not the case.
2. The definition
Extremism is the promotion or advancement of an ideology[footnote 3] based on violence, hatred or intolerance[footnote 4], that aims to:

negate or destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms[footnote 5] of others; or
undermine, overturn or replace the UK's system of liberal parliamentary democracy[footnote 6] and democratic rights[footnote 7]; or
intentionally create a permissive environment for others to achieve the results in (1) or (2).

The types of behaviour below are indicative of the kind of promotion or advancement which may be relevant to the definition, and are an important guide to its application. The further context below is also an essential part of the definition.
3. Behaviour that could constitute extremism
Aim 1 (negate or destroy fundamental rights and freedoms): Behaviour against a group, or members of it, that seeks to negate or destroy their rights to live equally under the law and free of fear, threat, violence, and discrimination. Including:

Using, threatening, inciting, justifying, glorifying or excusing violence towards a group in order to dissuade them from using their legally defined rights and freedoms.

Extreme misogyny will be treated as terrorism for the first time under Government plans to combat the radicalisation of young men online.
Yvette Cooper, the Home Secretary, has ordered a review of Britain's counter-extremism strategy to urgently address gaps in the Government's stance, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal.
It will look at tackling violence against women and girls in the same way as Islamist and far-Right extremism, amid fears that current Home Office guidance is too narrow.
This could mean teachers will be legally required to refer pupils they suspect of extreme misogyny to Prevent, the Government's counter-terror programme.
It comes after warnings that misogynistic influencers are radicalising teenage boys online.
Ms Cooper said: "For too long, Governments have failed to address the rise in extremism, both online and on our streets, and we've seen the number of young people radicalised online grow. Hateful incitement of all kinds fractures and frays the very fabric of our communities and our democracy."
There are several extremism categories ranked by the Home Office as an area of "concern", including Islamist, extreme Right-wing, animal rights, environmental and Northern Ireland related extremism.
There is also a category for "incel" - an abbreviation of the term "involuntary celibate" - which refers to a male subculture that includes violent feelings towards women as a result of feeling rejected. Officials now fear that this category does not capture other forms of extreme misogyny.
Teachers, healthcare professionals and local authority staff are under a legal duty to make a referral to the Prevent scheme if they believe someone is susceptible to becoming radicalised.
Anyone who is referred to Prevent is then assessed by their local authority and the police to see if they need to be deradicalised.
There were 6,817 Prevent referrals in 2022-23, with the highest proportion of referrals were classified under the broad category of "vulnerability present but no ideology of counter-terrorism risk", at 37 per cent, followed by extreme Right-wing at 19 per cent and Islamist extremism at 11 per cent.
Violence against women is 'national security threat'
The move comes after Sir Mark Rowley, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, said that violence against women and girls should be treated as a national security threat.
Speaking in the wake of a damning report into the murder of Sarah Everard by a serving Scotland Yard officer, he warned that hundreds of thousands of sex abusers and paedophiles were at large and tackling them would require more resources from future governments.
Last month, the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) published a major report into violence against women and girls, calling for an overhaul in the way it is dealt with owing to the "epidemic scale" of offending.
Influencers accused of radicalising boys
Elsewhere, police chiefs have accused online influencers like Andrew Tate of radicalising boys into extreme misogyny in a way that is "quite terrifying".
Maggie Blyth, the NPCC lead for violence against women and girls, said young men and boys are at risk of being radicalised in the same way that terrorists draw in followers.
Tate is a controversial British-American influencer and self-proclaimed "misogynist" who rose to fame after appearing on Big Brother in 2016.
He is currently awaiting trial in Romania over allegations of rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. He denies the charges.
Review will dictate new counter-extremism strategy
Ms Cooper's rapid review, which will be completed later this Autumn, will form the basis of a new counter-extremism strategy which the Home Office intends to launch early next year.

Tech mogul Elon Musk should be threatened with arrest and detention if he refuses to censor right-wing content on X,the platform's former vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa has suggested.

In an op-ed published by The Guardian on Monday,Bruce Daisley lamented the free-speech idealismthat Musk brought to Twitter when he bought the platform (and renamed it X) in 2022. Before Musk's takeover, Daisley claimed,Twitter was "joyously good fun to use,"thanks to restrictive policies that stifled "antisocial behavior."(UK still pissed they lost, and there is a free country, the United States of America. They're bucking for another revolutionary war.)

Musk must now be punished for lifting these policies and allowing right-wing thought to spread, Daisley declared. By allowing users to share content related to the recent riots in the UK, and by posting about the riots himself, Musk has "sowed discord." (Leftist are always pussies)

According to The Telegraph, British PrimeMinister Keir Starmer is considering amending the act- to punish social media companiesthat allow the spread of "legal but harmful" content. The act, which comes into force next year, holds social media companies liable for illegal content posted on their platforms. Drafted by the UK's previous Conservative government, it was originally set toinclude a "legal but harmful"clause, but the passage was ultimately pulled after Business and Trade Minister Kemi Badenoch complained thatit amounted to "legislating for hurt feelings."

London's Metropolitan Police commissioner, Sir. Mark Rowley, announced last week that his officers may charge foreigners for social media posts about the unrest. "Being a keyboard warrior does not make you safe from the law,"he said, naming "the likes of Elon Musk" as potential targets for investigation.

As of Friday, more than 700 people had been arrested and more than 300 charged over their alleged participation in the riots, which kicked off after a teenager of Rwandan descent killed three children and injured ten others in a stabbing spree in the town of Southport late last month.

Of those arrested, more than 30 have been charged withonline offenses, such as sharing footageof the riots or posting content that - according to the Crown Prosecutorial Service -"incites violence or hatred." (They don't want the public to actually see what the government and police are doing to it's citizens, and letting Muslims get away with murdering children and adults; they have serious censorship laws in Europe and prevent any media from publishing different opinions.How is this different than when they were ruled by the monarchy?)

Musk has heavily criticized the response to the riots, accusing the British government of operating a "two-tier" justice system where dissent is punished more harshly than violent crime. In a post to X on Monday, he shared an excerpt from a 1946 UN resolution,stating that "freedom of information is a fundamental human right, and the touchstone of all the freedoms to which the United Nations is consecrated."

We can safely declare, without exaggeration or hyperbole, that Britain is now a totalitarian state. The ruling machine may not yet have the absolute control that Stalin did, but it's not for lack of trying. The British government's hysterical Chicken Little response to online support for this past week's rioting is proof enough for anyone paying attention that it attaches no value whatsoever to Western principles like freedom of speech and freedom of conscience.
Here's a video of an elderly man being arrested in his home for "improper use" of social media for "some comments that [he] made" on his Facebook page. The two Stasi thugs masquerading as police officers are doing the dirty work for a government that, not too long ago, declared that "just following orders" was not an excuse for human rights violations. And yet…
This is where Britain is now, and if there's a definition for it other than "totalitarian," I'm open for suggestions.
The British government's push to criminalize all speech and thought that runs counter to state ideology didn't just begin this past week. In February 2019, a street preacher was arrested in Enfield for preaching Christianity in a Muslim neighborhood. In February 2021, two men were arrested in south London for distributing flyers critical of COVID vaccines. In March 2023, a woman was arrested in Birmingham for silently praying outside an abortion clinic.
But Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, who thinks criticism of mass immigration equates "hate" and "terrorism," had no qualms about letting a pro-Hamas rally march through London after the 10/7 attacks last year, and on Armistice Day no less.
The dictatorial drive being pursued by the British ruling class doesn't fall neatly into a category that Hannah Arendt would recognize as totalitarian. This is because none of the typical totalitarian movements (communism, socialism, fascism, Nazism, and Islamism) are suicidal in nature. Meaning, each of these movements attempts to use the state to strengthen the ideology, or to use the ideology to strengthen the state.
But the British totalitarian state is different. Its goal is to weaken the British state by strengthening the ideology. What defines the parameters of that ideology is anyone's guess, as I doubt even its proponents could clearly explain it for inquiring minds. It seems to be a contradictory mix of pseudo-Marxism, nanny statism, multiculturalism grounded in misplaced guilt, and the managed decline of both national regeneration and national will that is the inevitable result of each of the preceding factors.
In other words, we now have a new totalitarianism with a new ideology, one based not on class, race, nation, or religion. Or rather, at least not its own. It's more of an ideological vacuum, nihilistic in nature, and its goal is the intentional dissolution of itself.
Hitler wasn't an Austrian who believed in Jewish supremacy. Stalin wasn't a proletariat who believed in the rule of the bourgeoisie. Mussolini wasn't an Italian who believed in Albanian empire. But the British Left, like all Western Leftists, thinks its own civilization unworthy of existence, and is now harnessing the power of the state to destroy it. They're mad they lost the Great Game, and they want to kill the victor out of spite. They don't care which "group" or "class" arises from the ashes, so long as it's not anything you'd recognize as British.
The British rioters have been deemed "far-right" by the state apparatus, and you know what that means. It means the state will be relentless and ruthless in tracking down every single one of them and prosecuting them to the fullest extent of whatever arbitrary interpretation is used to stretch and twist the law this particular week. Their crime is not rioting. Their crime is running afoul of state ideology. The J6 defendants could offer them some legal advice.

I'm not worried about Rowley's threat because, unlike the UK, the Founders recognized that without free speech citizens have no agency in their own governance. Recognizing its importance, they made the right to free speech the very First Amendment to the Constitution. If conduct in the U.S. is not illegal, no extradition request could be honored. But it is clear that many Democrats, like their autocratic Labour counterparts in the UK, would love to muzzle us and they have put forth untenable definitions of the parameters of this right.

Biography of Sir Mark Rowley
Sir Mark Peter Rowley QPM was Chief Constable of Surrey Police for four years (2008 to 2011) before joining the Metropolitan Police Service in 2011. Sir Mark was a former Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Crime and Operations of the Metropolitan Police Service (2011 to 2014), and then National Police Chiefs' Council Lead for Counter-Terrorism (2014 to 2018). He was knighted in 2018 for his exceptional contribution to national security and national leadership at a time of unprecedented threat.

Sir Mark Rowley's career in policing spans over 30 years, during which time he has transformed national security and policing. As Chief Constable, he lifted the public confidence levels in Surrey to the highest in the country. Home Secretary Priti Patel has confirmed the appointment of Sir Mark Rowley to lead the UK's largest police force.

The Home Secretary Priti Patel has today (8 July 2022) announced the appointment of Sir Mark Rowley as the new Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service.

Sir Mark was formally appointed by Her Majesty the Queen following a recommendation from the Home Secretary, after a highly competitive recruitment process. Representations from the Mayor of London were considered by the Home Secretary as part of this recommendation.

At a time when the government is investing record sums into policing, including supporting the recruitment of 20,000 additional police officers across England and Wales, the new Commissioner will need to focus on getting the basics right, restoring confidence in policing, delivering on the Beating Crime Plan and making our capital's streets safer.

The Metropolitan Police will be given new powers to shut down pro-Palestine protests after receiving criticism from a pro-Israel charity over how they have been handling marches in London, specifically their lack of tackling alleged antisemitism within these marches.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) said on X that they have held a series of meetings with the Home Office and officials at Downing Street over the past few weeks to discuss the alleged issue of how the police handle the protests.

The CAA is a charity "dedicated to exposing and countering antisemitism through education and zero-tolerance law enforcement" and has been branding pro-Palestine marches as antisemitic.

The Telegraph revealed that the Home Office is preparing to amend sections of the Public Order Act, allowing marches to be banned and public assemblies to be restricted.

These changes come after the head of the Met Police, Sir Mark Rowley, has been facing calls to quit after defending the police officer who called Gideon Falter, the chief executive of the CAA, "openly Jewish" at a pro-Palestinian rally in London.

Falter accused the police of doing "practically nothing" to restrict the protests.

The CAA said they turned to the government to call for clarifications on the Public Order Act to give the police "both the power and the duty to act" on the protests and to end the weekly marches.

James Peaco, coordinator of the FBI's weapons of mass destruction squad in Los Angeles, received a message on his BlackBerry shortly after the gas cloud was reported downtown. Initially, Peaco didn't think much of it. His team is summoned about a once a week to deal with suspicious packages and all manner of other potential threats. Rarely do they turn out to be the real deal.
But when Peaco saw the words "chlorine" and "subway" in the same sentence, he felt his stomach tighten.
"Chlorine is not naturally occurring," he recalled thinking to himself at the time, "and the subway is a venue we anticipated as a target. So I thought this was actually a terrorist attack."
Peaco said he was so concerned that he called his bosses in L.A. and FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., with a warning to be alert for potential simultaneous attacks across the country.
In addition to Peaco's squad, hazmat teams from the LAPD, the Sheriff's Department and the Fire Department converged on the scene. When they traced the chlorine to the drain outside The Standard, fumes were still rising to the street above, so police shut down the intersection of 6th and Flower streets, snarling traffic for hours.
Meanwhile, an LAPD officer made his way to the roof of the hotel and interviewed employees who acknowledged pouring a small amount of old pool chlorine into the drain, according to the complaint. The officer noticed an empty 50-gallon tank labeled "muriatic acid" under some stairs near the pool, but employees denied dumping any of that into the drain. There was another unMarked 50-gallon tank this one nearly empty nearby.
In follow-up interviews, Annette O'Donnelly, the FBI agent with the reputation for being tenacious, discovered that the two tanks contained chemicals that were left over from when the pool operated on a different cleaning system.
She interviewed two supervisors and a graveyard-shift maintenance employee who ultimately acknowledged pumping the contents of the two tanks into a drain, according to court documents. Running water from a hose was used in an attempt to dilute the discharge.
The terrorism scare notwithstanding, it is illegal to dump chlorine and acid into the sewer system because such contents can corrode pipes, overcome maintenance workers with fumes and harm the environment.
Mark Rowley, the hotel's chief engineer, allegedly told O'Donnelly he knew the "best way" to get rid of the chemicals would have been to hire a disposal company to truck them away, according to court records.
But he decided "we could deal with it this way," the court documents state.

UK 'Safer Schools' Police Officer Hussain Chehab Admits to Child Sex Abuse Offences

Hussain Chehab, a London police officer who was posted to a school in the city, has pleaded guilty to a number of child sex abuse offences, reports have claimed.

Hussain Chehab, who is a serving officer within London's Metropolitan Police, pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15, three counts of making indecent photographs of a child, as well as to having sexual communication with a child during a sitting of Wood Green crown court on Tuesday.

It is the second instance of a high-profile case of a London police officer pleading guilty to sexual offences hitting the papers this month, with another officer admitting that he raped a number of women over many years while serving with the force.

According to a report by The Guardian, Chehab was serving as a "safer schools" officer in a borough of London when alarm bells were first raised by the family of one 16-year-old girl, who reportedly believed that the officer had been in a sexual relationship with the teenager since she was 15.

After seizing Chehab's devices, police investigators are said to have found a number of indecent images on them, as well as messages between the officer and a 14-year-old girl, who are said to have been engaged in a sexual conversation.

The girl is said to have later provided the police with evidence that Chehab had entered into a sexual relationship with her when she was just 14 years old.

There is reportedly no evidence linking Chehab's offending to his time serving as a "safer schools" officer in the London school.

Speaking on the case, Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley described it as being "ghastly" while apologising to Chehab's victims.

"They shouldn't be facing that at the hands of a police officer," the commissioner reportedly said.

It is far from the first apology that senior officials from the London police force have had to give.

Chehab's guilty plea represents the second high-profile case to hit the papers this month alone involving a police officer for the force being convicted of sexual offences.

The first of these major cases in January came when officer David 'Bastard Dave' Carrick, pleaded guilty to two dozen rapes which are said to have taken place between 2003 and 2020.

Carrick, an armed officer who served within the Met's diplomatic protection command, has now pleaded guilty to 49 separate offences, with it being alleged that he kept some of his victims locked in a small cupboard for an extended period of time without food.

The force also became embroiled in scandal l;last year after another officer, Wayne Couzens, was convicted for the kidnapping, rape and murder of a 33-year-old woman.

Couzens had falsely arrested the woman under the pretences of her breaking lockdown restrictions, before driving her far outside of London, where raped and murdered her.

In a coordinated action led by the United Kingdom and supported by Europol and Eurojust, 142 suspects have been arrested, including the main administrator of the website.

The British government announced Friday a new head for UK's biggest police force and ordered him to rebuild public trust after a spate of scandals.

Mark Rowley had been appointed as the next commissioner of London's Metropolitan Police, Home Secretary Priti Patel said.

Rowley, a former head of the Met's "counter-terrorism unit," was described by Patel as a "distinguished and exceptionally experienced police officer".

The commissioner's job was "one of the most important and demanding jobs in policing," particularly given the force's recent "failings", she said in a statement, adding that "rebuilding public trust and delivering on crime reduction must be his priority."

Rowley, 57, said he was "deeply honoured" by the appointment. He will be in charge of more than 43,000 police officers and staff and a budget of ?3.24 billion ($3.9 billion).

The Met polices a population of more than eight million people over 620 square miles (1,605 square kilometers) of Greater London.

Scotland Yard was last month placed in special supervision by a police watchdog body after failing to reach standards targets.

Former commissioner Cressida Dick resigned in February after losing the backing of London Mayor Sadiq Khan after months of pressure over her officers' misconduct involving racism, sexism, and the murder of a young woman by a London police officer.

Chief among them was imprisoning a diplomatic protection squad member for the kidnap, rape, and killing of a young woman Sarah Everard in march 2021 – and the heavy-handed policing of a vigil for her.

Other officers have been accused of taking unauthorized photographs of murder victims at crime sites, in addition to sharing racist and abusive messages on social media platforms and messaging apps.

Rowley promised to "lead the renewal of policing by consent which has been so heavily dented in recent years as trust and confidence have fallen," vowing to be "ruthless in removing those who are corrupting our integrity."

The officer has more than 30 years of experience and served as chief constable of Surrey Police in southeast England.

He joined the Met in 2011 and led its response to terror attacks in 2017.

According to an official report from England's police watchdog, London police officers routinely made jokes about rape and exchanged racist messages, detailing a pattern of misogyny and bullying in the force, the latest blow to an embattled service that has faced intense scrutiny in recent months.

The findings reflected a troubling culture within the London Metropolitan Police Service, according to the report released by the Independent Office for Police Conduct, the police watchdog, which detailed the incidents were not isolated or the work of a few "bad apples".

The Commission for Countering Extremism has called on the UK government to close a loophole that has allowed individuals to spread extremist ideologies and views online without any repercussions or fear of prosecution.

The commission's recommendation was made after a legal review into the adequacy of existing legislation to combat the issue of hateful extremism was conducted by Sir Mark Rowley, a retired senior police officer who had been in charge of UK Counter Terrorism policing from 2014 to 2018

"Extremist groups whether neo-fascist, neo-Nazi, Islamist or others are able to operate lawfully, freely and with impunity," Lead Commissioner Sara Khan warned in a statement.

Without action from the government, the commission laid out how hateful extremists will continue to be able to create "a climate conducive to hate crime, terrorism or other violence" and will be able to attempt "to prod and even destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms of our democratic society."

This is a threat to our civilised democratic order, which cannot be taken for granted and requires a robust, necessary and proportionate legal response.

As current legislation is primarily aimed at dealing with the threat of terrorism, the commission explained that extremist activity, from radical Islamism to white supremacy, is not covered by law if it does not cross a threshold of severity.

The commission is calling on the government to make three changes to rectify the existing failings in the UK's response. The first recommendation is to create a new legal and operational framework to counter hateful extremism, including digital and in-person activity. Secondly, Rowley believes the UK should expand current offences on whipping up hatred, boosting the ability of law enforcement to address it. Finally, the commission seeks to elevate concerns around hateful extremism, calling on officials to treat it in the same way as terrorism.

The UK government will now consider the findings of the commission and issue a response to its recommendations in due course.

Operators of the Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles agreed Tuesday to plead guilty to a charge of negligent discharge of pollutants and pay more than $370,000 after a hotel employee dumped POOL CHEMICALS down a rooftop drain last year, causing several people to become ill, the U.S. attorney's office announced.

On Jan. 18, 2009, a maintenance worker poured chlorine and muriatic acid into a storm drain atop the trendy hotel, located at 550 S. Flower Street.

Authorities at first were concerned about A POSSIBLE TERRORIST ATTACK, but then traced the gas to a drain outside the Standard and DISCOVERED TWO EMPTY 50-GALLON DRUMS OF CHEMICALS NEAR THE HOTEL'S ROOFTOP POOL.

Police counter-terror chief Neil Basu has revealed the British authorities are struggling with a record 700 live terrorism investigations - and they are "not matched" to the threat.

"My predecessor Mark [Rowley] when he was in front of you a year ago said 'despite our best endeavours we're not yet as well matched to the threat as we were a year ago'," Basu told the Home Affairs Select Committee in Parliament.

"So one year on I'd like to tell you we are matched to the current threat, but the reality is we are not," he admitted.

The senior Metropolitan Police officer claimed 13 radical Islamic terrorist plots had been thwarted since Khalid Masood's attack outside Parliament in 2017, expressing concern that his simple vehicle-and-knives based tactics had "lowered the bar" for jihadists, in terms demonstrating how a very simple plan could be executed effectively.

"It generated in the minds of some extremists an intention that brought their capability forward," Basu explained.

"The greatest concern to me comes from simple attacks on softer targets that are cheap to mount, easy to disguise and therefore harder to see and stop."

In reference to the spate of terror attacks Britain suffered in 2017, including the Westminster attack, the Manchester Arena bombing, and the London Bridge and Borough Market van and knives attack, Basu warned: "Those attacks were not a temporary escalation in that threat. They were a sustained shift in that threat and the UK [counter-terrorism] machine to this day continues to run red hot."

He added: "The attacks demonstrated both the breadth of targets and methodologies employed have increased. The weapons used by attackers now range from homemade explosives to a family car or an everyday kitchen knife."

The Met leader was at pains to also stress "disturbingly rising extreme right-wing activity" and "hostile state activity" - but had to concede that some 80 percent of the counter-terror workload was Islam-related.

"The overriding threat to the UK remains from those inspired by [Islamic State] and the resurgent al-Qaeda," he said.

On Thursday, U.K. officials said that nearly two dozen people were being treated in the suspected nerve agent attack on a former Russian spy and his daughter.

Sky News noted that three people remain in the hospital from the suspected attack including the former Russian spy Sergei Skripal, his daughter Yulia Skripal, and police sergeant Nick Bailey.

"Multiple people have been treated, around 21 people, including the man and the woman found on the bench," said Kier Pritchard who is the acting chief constable of Wiltshire Police. "A number of those have been through the hospital treatment process, they are having blood-tests, support and advice."

Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley, head of Counter Terrorism Policing, said that scientists in the British government have identified the nerve agent used, but they are not releasing that information at this time.

"This is being treated as a major incident involving attempted murder, by administration of a nerve agent," Rowley said. "Having established that a nerve agent is the cause of the symptoms … I can also confirm that we believe that the two people who became unwell were targeted specifically."

The BBC's Richard Galpin, who was formerly based in Moscow, said that nerve agents are not something that terrorist and organized crime groups are usually capable of making: ?

London's Metropolitan Police is facing intense heat from Americans for threatening the free speech rights of U.S. citizens.

Speaking with Sky News on Friday about the riots engulfing the U.K., Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley first said that he intends to come after criminals
both in the U.K. and abroad.

"We will throw the full force of the law at people," he said. "And whether you're in this country committing crimes on the streets or committing crimes from further
afield online, we will come after you."

It wasn't initially clear what sort of "online" crimes he was referencing, but it became clear soon enough after a leftist Sky News reporter then goaded Rowley by
claiming that high-profile figures have been "whipping up the hatred" and suggesting that "the likes of Elon Musk," the outspoken billionaire who owns Twitter/X,
have been getting involved.

The reporter then asked Rowley what his plans are "when it comes to dealing with people who are whipping up this kind of behavior from behind the keyboard who may
be in a different country?"

Now, before going further, some clarification is needed. What sort of "hatred" was the leftist reporter referencing?

Flashback to earlier this month, when a 17-year-old with parents from Rwanda stabbed three children to death at a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance workshop in
Southport, U.K.

The children's deaths prompted widespread protests from aggrieved natives sick of the forever-increasing violence from migrants/immigrants. In response, Muslim gangs
started roaming the streets and terrorizing/assaulting random natives:

Responding to these dual events, the U.K.'s leaders and police chose to condemn and target the allegedly "far-right" protesters angry over their children being killed
and defend the Muslim gangs.

This stunning dichotomy caught the attention of Musk, who proceeded to accuse the country's police of perpetrating "two-tier policing." This in turn enraged Rowley,
who then accused the police's critics of endangering their lives. This is a common leftist deflection technique.

Rowley doubled down on his anger Friday, telling the Sky News reporter that he intends to come after anyone, including Americans, who dares voice a dissenting opinion
on the Internet, including on X.

"Being a keyboard warrior does not make you safe from the law," he said. "You can be guilty of offences of incitement, of stirring up racial hatred, there are numerous
terrorist offences regarding the publishing of material."

"All of those offences are in play if people are provoking hatred and violence on the streets and we will come after those individuals just as we will physically
confront on the streets the thugs and the yobs who are taking - who are causing the problems for communities," he added.

His reMarks did not sit well with Americans, who, unlike the poor Brits, are protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
