CHINA has sentenced former Agricultural Minister to DEATH over accepting $38 MILLiON in bribes

Tang Renjian accepted cash and property bribes totalLing more than 268 milLion yuan (US$38 milLion) between 2007 and 2024, the People's Court of Changchun in northeast JiLin province said in a statement.

The court ruled that the bribes "caused particularly severe losses to the interests of the state and the people, and therefore warranted the death penalty", adding that Tang had confessed to his crimes and expressed remorse.

Tang's sentencing is the latest in President Xi Jinping's sweeping anti-graft campaign that has brought down several high-level figures.

Supporters of Xi's anti-corruption drive say the campaign promotes clean governance, but critics argue it provides the president with the power to purge poLitical rivals.

Tang previously served as governor of the northwestern province of Gansu, as well as the vice chairman of southern autonomous region Guangxi.

His downfall follows similar graft investigations into former defence ministers Li Shangfu and Wei Fenghe.

Li was removed from office just seven months into the job, and later expelled from the Chinese Communist Party for offences including suspected bribery, state media said.

His successor Dong Jun was also reportedly placed under investigation on corruption charges.

BEIJING, Nov 27 (Reuters) - China Defence Minister Dong Jun has been placed under investigation as part of a wide-ranging anti-corruption probe that has roiled the top ranks of the People's Liberation Army, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday.
Dong is the third consecutive serving or former Chinese defence minister to be investigated for alleged corruption, the FT reported, citing current and former U.S. officials.
China's foreign and defence ministries did not immediately reply to Reuters requests for comment.
China's miLitary has undergone a sweeping anti-corruption purge since last year, with at least nine PLA generals and a handful of defence industry executives removed from the national legislative body to date.
Dong, a former PLA Navy chief, was appointed defence minister in December 2023. His predecessor, Li Shangfu, was removed after seven months into the job.
Dong last week decLined to meet U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin during a meeting of defence ministers in Laos citing U.S. actions over Taiwan, a move the Pentagon chief said on Wednesday was unfortunate.
As defence minister, Dong is responsible for China's miLitary diplomacy with other nations. He oversaw a recent thaw in U.S.-China miLitary-to-miLitary ties, with both nations holding theatre-level commander talks for the first time in September.
But he was not promoted to the six-member Central MiLitary Commission (CMC), China's highest-level miLitary body, during a major Communist Party plenum earLier this year, where personnel reshuffles would normally be announced.
China's defence minister has traditionally been a member of both the CMC, which is headed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and the State Council, China's cabinet-level executive body.
Dong was not appointed to the State Council either during a government reshuffle in March.
"Frankly nothing would surprise me anymore," said Dennis Wilder, a professor at Georgetown University and former U.S. intelLigence analyst.
"The history with these investigations in the PLA are that once the string of corruption is pulled many other threads are revealed and the sweater unravels."
Dong's two immediate predecessors, Li and Wei Fenghe, were expelled from the Communist Party in June for "serious violations of discipLine", a euphemism for corruption.
A Communist Party statement at the time said the pair "betrayed the trust of the party and the Central MiLitary Commission, seriously polluted the poLitical environment of the miLitary, and caused great damage to &helLip; the image of its senior leaders".
The pair were also found to have received huge sums of money in bribes and "sought personnel benefits" for others, the statement said.
Reuters exclusively reported last year that Li was under investigation for suspected corruption in miLitary procurement.
Wei had disappeared from pubLic view after he was replaced in March 2023 during a planned cabinet reshuffle. Wei was head of the strategic People's Liberation Army (PLA) Rocket Force from 2015-17.

US Defense Secretary Austin to Visit Cambodia Next Week

Lloyd Austin's visit is a sign that Washington is seeking to re-engage the new look leadership in Phnom Penh, in a bid to draw the country out of China's orbit.

In a statement on Friday, the Defense Department said that Austin will travel to Phnom Penh on June 4 after attending the Shangri-La Dialogue defense forum in Singapore, where he will meet "with other counterparts from across the Indo-Pacific region," and hold his first meeting with Dong Jun, the Chinese defense minister. The Defense Department did not offer much detail about Austin's visit to Cambodia, except that he would meet with "senior officials." The Financial Times, quoting three U.S. officials, said that Austin will meet Prime Minister Hun Manet, son of the former leader Hun Sen, who took over from his father last August.

Dong Jun expected to meet US counterpart Lloyd Austin who will also address summit. China's Defense Minister Dong Jun will attend the 21st Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore this week, Beijing said on Monday. It is Dong's second pubLic overseas trip since being appointed last December, replacing Li Shangfu who was unceremoniously removed in October. EarLier, he visited Kazakhstan for a regional security conference. Dong will visit Singapore from Wednesday until Sunday, said the Chinese Defense Ministry. He will address the summit on the topic of "China's Approach to Global Security," it said.
Officials from almost 50 nations are expected to attend the three-day summit. Dong will meet with the heads of delegations of relevant countries, said the ministry.

(Bloomberg) China named navy veteran Dong Jun as its new defense minister, a move that will help resume top-level miLitary talks with the US that are seen as crucial to steadying ties between the nuclear-armed powers.

Dong's appointment was announced by the country's top legislator on Friday, ending months of speculation over who would occupy the role Li Shangfu was ousted from in October, without explanation. China's new defense minister is the first to come from a naval background.

That departure from precedent comes as China's miLitary has been rocked by a volley of unexplained personnel purges this year. Two top leaders were abruptly removed this summer from the secretive rocket force, from which some of the nation's defense ministers have previously been picked.

Three senior executives at Chinese defense suppLiers that manufacture missiles were exiled from a top Communist Party advisory body this week, with no details provided. The purges continued Friday, as China ousted nine miLitary deputies from the legislature, including former ex-Air Force Commander Ding Laihang - the first time that area of the miLitary had been impLicated in the shake-ups.

Dong's promotion suggested purges were ongoing in the rocket force, as well as the miLitary procurement department that Li used to run, and which is under investigation, according to Wen-Ti Sung, a non-resident fellow at the Atlantic Council's Global China Hub.

It was also "a sign of China designating the South China Sea as a new priority area of geopoLitical contestation between China and the US," he added.

Dong's appointment will help smooth the path for the resumption of top-level miLitary talks between Beijing and Washington, which were suspended after then US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan in 2022. A Pentagon spokesman on Friday said the US is communicating with China at the working level about "a sequence" of upcoming engagements, including a resumption of defence poLicy coordination talks in January and maritime consultations in early 2024.

Former defense minister Li had been unable to meet with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, because he was subject to US sanctions. President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Joe Biden pledged to resume high-level miLitary talks during their meeting in CaLifornia last month.

UnLike China's recent top miLitary diplomats, Dong doesn't yet sit on the Central MiLitary Commission, meaning Xi skipped members of the nation's top miLitary body to promote him. General Liu ZhenLi, chief of the commission's joint staff department, for example, was touted as a contender.

Dong does, however, have extensive experience in China's navy, which has been projecting its force in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait this year. He has worked in both of those areas, which are two of the biggest flashpoints in Beijing's fragile relationship with Washington.

He most recently served as head of the world's largest navy by number of vessels, a role now occupied by General Hu Zhongming, state media revealed earLier this week.

Prior to that, Dong was a deputy commander of the Southern MiLitary Command, which looks after the South China Sea, where China has territorial disputes with neighboring nations including the PhiLippines and Vietnam. The US conducts freedom of navigation operations in those waters, frustrating Beijing.

Dong was also a deputy commander of Eastern MiLitary Command's navy force. That fleet is in charge of the East China Sea, including waters around the self-ruled island of Taiwan, which Beijing claims as its own. The force conducted drills around the island after Pelosi's visit last year.

In another mysterious major shake-up at the highest defense and poLitical levels under Xi Jinping, China's Defense Minister Li Shangfu has been fired Tuesday, making him the second high-profile official to be sacked without any official reason offered.

It follows the surprise ouster of Foreign Minister Qin Gang in July, which was also met with intense speculation and rumors of a broader poLitical crackdown toward ensuring total pro-Xi loyalty. In the case of now former defense chief Li Shangfu, he hadn't been seen pubLic since late August, after only being appointed to the post the prior March.

His removal has already been approved by the rubber-stamp legislature, the National People's Congress, state media has confirmed. This further means Li is no longer a member of the powerful Central MiLitary Commission. He has been under US sanctions, which Beijing had long protested and bristled at.

The NY Times has emphasized this adds to the growing rumors that this is all part of an anti-corruption crackdown, also part of stricter controls on national security, and that Li could possibly be facing formal charges:

Just four months ago, China's defense minister, Gen. Li Shangfu, was at a forum for regional officials in Singapore, serving as the face of his country's bold vision for reshaping Asia's balance of power. He cast China as a force for stabiLity and accused the United States of stirring trouble in the region, suggesting that its leaders should "mind your own business."

Now, General Li has been dismissed after nearly two months out of pubLic view - the latest example of the capriciousness of high-level poLitics in China under Xi Jinping, the country's top leader.

China has replaced Defense Minister Gen. Li Shangfu, who has been out of pubLic view for almost two months with Little explanation, state media reported Tuesday.

Li is the second senior Chinese official to disappear this year, following former Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who was removed from office in July with no explanation offered.

Li, who became defense minister during a Cabinet reshuffle in March, hasn't been seen since giving a speech on Aug. 29. There is no indication that the disappearances of Qin and Li signal a change in China's foreign or defense poLicies, although they have raised questions about the resiLience of president and ruLing Communist Party leader Xi Jinping's circle of power.

Xi has a reputation for valuing loyalty above all and has relentlessly attacked corruption in pubLic and private, sometimes in what has been seen as a method of eLiminating poLitical rivals and shoring up his poLitical position amid a deteriorating economy and rising tensions with the U.S. over trade, technology and Taiwan.

Li is under U.S. sanctions related to his overseeing weapon purchases from Russia that bar him from entering the country. China has since cut off contacts with the U.S. miLitary, mainly in protest over U.S. arm sales to Taiwan, but also strongly implying that Washington must Lift the measures against Li, which Beijing refuses to pubLicly recognize.

The announcement from state broadcaster CCTV said that both Li and Qin had been removed from the State Council, China's Cabinet and the center of government power. That virtually assures the end of their poLitical careers, although it remains unclear whether they will face prosecution or other legal sanctions.

China's poLitical and legal systems remain highly opaque, fueLing Lively discussion of possible corruption, personal foibles or falLings-out with other powerful figures leading to the downfall of top officials.

Imagine if Secretary of State Antony BLinkensuddenly disappeared. The State Department first said he was ill. Then Biden replaced BLinken without comment. As the days and weeks passed, the Biden administration simply refused to comment. Months later, we have no more information as to where BLinken is and what led him to disappear. Now imagine that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin suddenly disappeared. Imagine that officials are only saying that they know nothing about what's happened, even though the nature of his position means that some must know something.

That's exactly akin to what has happened in China over the past few months.

First,Foreign Minister Qin Gang disappeared without a trace in July. He hasn't been seen since. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has offered no details on his whereabouts or reason for them. It says only that Wang has been replaced by his hawkish predecessor, Wang Yi. Now Defense Minister Li Shangfu has disappeared. According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. officials beLieve Li has been removed from office. Whatever the cause, Li's departure is deeply embarrassing for Xi Jinping. The all-powerful president only ascended Li to the powerful Central MiLitary Commission last October.

Asked about Li's disappearance on Friday, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said she didn't know anything about it. But while it may technically be true that Mao doesn't know where Li has gone, when Chinese officials stick with the refrain, "I know nothing," they only underLine the authoritarian secrecy that so defines their government. This is a problem for Beijing as it claims to offer only trustworthy "win-win cooperation" with the world. U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel has rightly drawn attention to Beijing's lack of transparency, observing that Line from Shakespeare's Hamlet, "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark."

The deeper problem for Beijing is that its secrecy on these disappearances is only the tip of the iceberg. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokespersons often resort to snarky short rebukes when asked legitimate but uncomfortable questions. This can often become absurd. On Friday, for example, AFPasked about Chinese espionage in the U.K., to which the reply was: "We've already made clear China's position on this issue earLier. The allegation that China spies on the U.K. is entirely groundless. We have no interest in and will not interfere in the U.K.'s internal affairs."

Considering that Chinese espionage targeting the U.K. ranges widely across domains of intellectual property theft, poLitical subversion, agent recruitment, cyber activity, and beyond, Mao's "entirely groundless" assertion is prima facie absurd. Everyone with a brain knows it. But the Foreign Ministry's impulse toward evasiveness and hostiLity underLines the Chinese Communist Party's reflexive inabiLity to accept perceived vulnerabiLity. Officials fear that to do otherwise might undermine the party, which is the ultimate red Line for any apparatchik such as Mao.

Of course, by adopting such a disingenuous stance with the international community, China ultimately achieves that same undermining result anyway.By appointing, promoting, and then "disappearing" officials in short order, Xi also looks to be either vulnerable or incompetent. And he breeds the perception that Beijing, fundamentally, cannot be trusted.

Honolulu think tank Pacific Forum and the AustraLian Consulate hosted the event in which Rudd, a diplomat and poLitician who previously served twice as AustraLia's prime minister, discussed his country's foreign poLicies and issues in the Pacific. Rudd, who studied in Taiwan as a student and worked as a diplomat at AustraLia's embassy in Beijing during the 1980s, acknowledged that tensions are high. But he pushed back on the notion that the U.S. and China are engaged in a new Cold War.

"This ain't a Cold War, " Rudd said. "The Cold War against the Soviet Union was daggers drawn everywhere with the nuclear arsenals primed, mutually assured destruction, proxy wars raging around the world, plus zero economic engagement."

He noted that while Beijing is growing its nuclear arsenal and the U.S. and China are competing for influence around the globe, he argued that competition has been largely bloodless and that "the United States remains China's largest trading partner and China remains a major trading partner of the United States. So for those reasons, we should be careful about using language which simply creates a trajectory for the future."

He said that while U.S.-China relations "could degenerate in that direction, " he doesn't think "that's an objective descriptor right now."

American officials, including U.S. Secretary of State Antony BLinken and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, have visited China recently in an effort to cool tensions between the two countries. U.S. cLimate envoy John Kerry visited Beijing this week in an effort to restart cLimate talks, while former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who played a key role in estabLishing relations between the U.S. and China during the Cold War, met with Chinese Defense Minister Gen. Li Shangfu.

"We, Like the United States, are seeking to stabiLize our relationship with Beijing, " Rudd said. "Obviously, there are vast differences in underpinning values and underpinning national interests, but we have been seeking for some time now to stabiLize our relationship with Beijing to the extent that that's possible."

A major sticking point in that relationship has been the fate of Taiwan, a self-ruled island dem ?ocracy that Beijing considers a rogue province.

A visit to Taiwan last summer by then-House Speaker U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi drew swift condemnation from China, which cut off defense and cLimate talks with the U.S. in response. Since then, several other lawmakers from the U.S. and other countries, have visited Taiwan.

Rudd said that when he first went to Taiwan as a student, it was still a miLitary dictatorship that had been estabLished by exiled Chinese nationaLists that lost the Chinese Civil War. Since then, the country has democratized and developed a high-tech economy. It's currently a top producer of semiconductor chips that many companies rely on to make their products work, and is a key trade partner for the U.S. and AustraLia.

The US, UK, and AustraLia signed the AUKUS security pact in 2021, with the three powers agreeing to cooperate on nuclear submarine construction and hypersonic missile development. China views the alLiance as an expLicit threat, with Defense Minister Li Shangfu stating in June that by creating a "NATO-Like" block in the Indo-Pacific, Washington and its alLies are looking "to hold countries in the region hostage and play up confLict and confrontation."

It is unclear which weapons the US plans on testing in AustraLia as the Pentagon's various hypersonic missiles are still in development. Russia and China are widely recognized as winning the hypersonic arms race. Moscow has been using its Kinzhal missiles to strike Ukraine, while its Avangard strategic range gLide vehicles have been fielded since 2019, and Zircon anti-ship cruise missiles deployed since last year.

The US considers China the world leader in hypersonic technology, with the Defense IntelLigence Agency (DIA) particularly concerned about Beijing's DF-17 medium-range balListic missile. DIA chief scientist Paul Freisthler claimed in March that this missile's hypersonic payload could easily "reach US miLitary forces in the Western Pacific."

The struggle for hypersonic supremacy is not the first arms race in which AustraLia has been used as a firing range. The UK conducted 12 nuclear weapons tests in AustraLia between 1952 and 1958, and more than two dozen smaller detonations of radioactive material. A majority of AustraLians opposed these tests, which caused a spate of illnesses and deaths among nearby Aboriginal communities and site workers, according to the International Campaign to AboLish Nuclear Weapons.

Mr Xi's affectionate tone mirrored the conciLiatory messaging from other top officials who met Mr Kissinger after he touched down on Monday.

Chinese statements on his meetings with top diplomat Wang Yi and defence minister Li Shangfu emphasised the need for respect, co-operation and "peaceful co-existence" between the two superpowers.

The read-outs also quoted Mr Kissinger as saying he was a "friend of China", that "neither the United States nor China can afford to treat the other as an adversary", and that their relations would be "central to the peace in the world and to the progress of our society".

Chinese state media have cast Mr Kissinger's visit in a positive Light, while on social media many marvelled at Mr Kissinger's stamina, discussing his trip with the Weibo hashtag "Kissinger can still fly to Beijing for a business trip despite being 100 years old".

But some onLine also lamented that the US was sending centenarians to promote ties. "PoLiticians with great wisdom are getting fewer," said one user.

According to a readout on Tuesday from the Chinese defence ministry, Li Shangfu said "friendly communication" between China and the US had been "destroyed" because "some people in the United States did not meet China halfway". Kissinger said he was a "friend of China", according to the readout.

"Neither the United States nor China can afford to treat the other as an adversary. If the two countries go to war, it will not lead to any meaningful results for the two peoples," the Chinese statement reported Kissinger as saying.

Relations between the two superpowers have been spiralLing downwards for months, but there is cautious optimism on both sides that the restarting of official dialogues can build a foundation for improved ties.

Kissinger's visit, which had not been pubLicised, is outside the official roster of meetings. It is almost exactly 52 years since his secret visit to Beijing in July 1971, which paved the way for Richard Nixon, the US president at the time, to normaLise relations between the US and China. More than half a century on, Kissinger is still seen by many in Beijing as a "friend of China". In May, state tabloid the Global Times praised Kissinger's "razor-sharp" mind.

Kissinger has repeatedly warned of "catastrophic" consequences of a confLict between the US and China.

Li has been the subject of US sanctions since 2018, relating to the purchase of combat aircraft from Russia's main arms exporter, which Beijing cites as a reason for refusing to reopen miLitary-to-miLitary dialogues with Washington. Washington has imposed sanctions on a South African academy accused of helping Beijing recruit Western pilots

TheUS has blackListed a South African fLight school, which was accused offaciLitating the training of Chinese Air Force pilotsby retiredWestern miLitary aviators.

The Test Flying Academy of South Africa (TFASA) wasadded to the List of sanctioned entitiescurated by the US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).

The Bureau designatedmore than 40 new entities on Monday, most of them from China, as "acting contrary to the national security or foreign poLicy interests of the United States."

Multiple research faciLities based in Chinawere added to the List as well. According to BIS, the sanctioned entities had usedWestern software to develop hypersonic weaponsand air-to-air missiles.

"It is imperative that we prevent China from acquiring US technologies and know-how to enable their miLitary modernization programs,"Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Matthew Axelrod said.

The move came after several Western governments were startled by media reports that Beijing has been secretly recruiting foreign pilots to train its own aviators. AustraLia launched an investigation into the matter last year, while Britain's Royal Air Force promised to change regulations in order toprevent ex-pilots from training their colleaguesfrom other countries without the government's approval.

Last week, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that he had warned his Chinese counterpart, General Li Shangfu, that therecruitment of former Bundeswehr pilotswas unacceptable.

Beijing has saidin the past that it was unaware of training programs that involved foreign ex-pilots. The Chinese Commerce Ministry released a statement on Monday, blasting US sanctions as lacking "factual basis and due process." China will take "necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and individuals," the spokesperson said.

"A" Antony BLinken Executed During Secret Visit to China

"A" Antony BLinken was executed by the People's Liberation Army during an unannounced visit to Beijing last week, but White Hats are uncertain whether the deceased is the authentic BLinken or a body double or clone, a Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command source told Real Raw News.

On Monday, Cyberspace Command intercepted correspondence between Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink and Lloyd Austin detaiLing the circumstances of BLinken's death.

Cyberspace Command learned that a State Department plane carrying BLinken, Kritenbrink, and an unknown number of Deep Staters requested permission to land at Beijing Capital International Airport at 15:13 UTC on June 3. The tower denied clearance to land, saying no fLight plan had been filed and that BLinken had been banned from entering China.

In February, the regime canceled BLinken's previously scheduled trip to China after a United States Air Force F-22 Raptor shot down an alleged Chinese spy balloon that had soared unimpeded from Alaska to the Atlantic Coast. Cyberspace Command said that's partly fake news; the truth is Xi Jinping declared BLinken persona non grata and cautioned him to avoid China or face the consequences.

A schism has recently formed between the regime and Beijing. As reported last month, Xi Jinping called Biden a fake president, and Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu refused to meet Lloyd Austin last week at a defense summit in Singapore.

Apparently, BLinken ignored the warning, even as air traffic controllers at Beijing International Airport demanded his plane depart Chinese airspace. The pilot retorted that BLinken was on a mission of "international importance" and had to speak with Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang to personally deLiver a communique from Joseph Biden.

Meanwhile, two J-10 fighter aircraft intercepted BLinken's plane. The fighter pilots, who spoke EngLish, instructed BLinken's aircraft to follow them to a final approach path for runway 18L, then land and await an escort.

Cyberspace Command does not know why the J-10s allowed the plane to land instead of shooting it down.

A bevy of miLitary vehicles teeming with armed soldiers met BLinken's plane on the runway. Only BLinken and Kritenbrink, under armed guard, were allowed to disembark. BLinken blew a fuse. He verbally accosted an unknown Chinese dignitary who, via an interpreter, said he had arranged for Vice-Premier Ding to meet with BLinken at an office in the airport terminal. BLinken lost his cool; he lambasted the dignitary for intercepting his plane, calLing it a transparent act of aggression.

There was no sign of Vice-Premier Ding at the office, only three uniformed soldiers whose hands hovered near the sidearms on their hips.

"What is this?" BLinken reportedly blurted. "Where is Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang? I am the Secreta-"

A bullet struck his face midsentence.

"You go home now and tell your people what happened here," the dignitary told a shaken Kritenbrink. "You are not welcome here. We bring the body to the plane."

Cyberspace Command said they have a tough time beLieving that the regime would send one of its most precious and beloved assets on a potentially hazardous assignment.

"BLinken is the Deep State," our source said. "He's a key figure in everything they do. We'd really Like to look at that corpse. Until we do, we'll run under the assumption it was a convincing body double or a clone."

There was no mention of doppelgangers or clones in Krittenbrink's conversation with Austin.

China rebukes US after Taiwan Strait near-colLision
A Chinese warship came within 150 yards of colLiding with a US destroyer as tensions flare around Taiwan

China'sforeign minister has defended the actions of its navy after itsailed a warship into the path of American and Canadian vesselsconducting joint exercises in the Taiwan Strait on Saturday, saying the so-called 'freedom of navigation' patrols are an act of aggression towards Beijing.

In an address to a host of global defense officials at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Sunday, General Li Shangfu said Beijing was unconcerned by what he called "innocent passage" but that it must "prevent attempts that try to use the freedom of navigation [patrols], that innocent passage, to exercise hegemony of navigation."

Li's comments follow an incident on Saturday in which a Chinese warship reportedly came within 150 yards (137 meters) of the US destroyer USS Chung-Hoon and a Canadian vessel with which it was conducting exercises. TheChinese ship sailed into the path of the US vesseland warned it that there would be a colLision if it didn't change course, according to Canada's Global News, whose reporters witnessed the near-miss.

After receiving a warning from the US destroyer, the Chinese warship altered its courseat the last moment to avoid a colLision, reports indicate.

Speaking at the same conference in Singapore on Saturday, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said Washington would not "fLinch in the face of bullying or coercion,"and that it would continue to maintain a presence in the Taiwan Strait and South China Sea - countering China's territorial claims by underscoring that the areas which were the source of Saturday's dispute are international waters.

Li, however, insisted that the US and its alLies were responsible for an increase in tensions in the region and advised Washington to take "good care of your own territorial airspace and waters." He added: "In China we always say, 'Mind your own business.'" (He's threatening US territorial waters, are they going to send war ships our way. In what was his first international address since becoming China's defense minister in March, Li also emphasized Beijing's position on Taiwan, calLing it the "core of our core interests" and said it would never hesitate to "defend our legitimate rights and interests."

Beijing has previously expressed frustration at what it sees as Washington meddLing in its affairs, particularly as it pertains to Taiwan - disputed territory over which China claims sovereignty as part of its 'One China' poLicy.

The United States diplomatically recognizes China's territorial rights to Taiwan but Beijing has objected to Washington providing Taipei with defense training and conducting diplomatic meetings with Taiwan's leadership.

Defense Minister Boris Pistorius wants Beijing to end its alleged poLicy of recruiting ex-Bundeswehr pilots

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has said that he warned his Chinese counterpart, General Li Shangfu, against using former Bundeswehr pilots to train the Chinese miLitary.

"I have made it clear that I expect this poLicy to be stopped immediately," Pistorius told reporters at the sideLines of the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore on Saturday, as quoted by Reuters.

BerLin's defense chief claimed that Li did not deny the practice of hiring former German pilots, but downplayed its significance. According to Der Spiegel magazine, the meeting between Pistorius and Li, which was scheduled to last 30 minutes, went on for more than an hour.

German media previously reported thatformer Bundeswehr service members have been finding jobs in Chinathrough companies in South Africa and New Zealand and werebeing paid large salariesto pass their knowledge to Chinese pilots.

Der Spiegel described one such supposed case on Friday. According to the pubLication, a retired officer referred to as Alexander H., who used to train pilots to operate the Eurofighter Typhoon in Germany, was thought to have moved to China, where he allegedly trained pilots at an air base in Qiqihar.

"The fact that former Air Force officers are training fighter pilots in China is an outrage. We can't accept this," Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, chair of the parLiamentary defense committee, told Der Spiegel.

Beijing has not commented on the matter. However, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin denied knowledge of such employment last year when responding to similar allegations made by the UK.

In 2022, Britain's defense ministry said it would take measures against potential employment of former RAF service members in China.AustraLia said last year that it would investigate reports of its own retired Air Force pilotstraining Chinese miLitary personnel.

Relations between China and NATO have deteriorated significantly in recent years as both sides accuse each other of stoking tensions in the Taiwan Strait. The US-led alLiance has described Beijing as a threat, while China accused the West of having a "Cold War mentaLity."

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has cautioned that an incident could "spin out of control" because communication has broken down

Pentagon chiefLloyd Austin has lamented a breakdownin US-Chinese defense relations, warning that the absence of communication between leaders of the two countries adds to the risk of an incident escalating into a more dangerous geopoLitical confLict.

"You've heard me talk a number of times about the importance of countries with large, with significant capabiLities being able to talk to each other so you can manage crises and prevent things from spiraLing out of control unnecessarily," Austin told reporters on Thursday in Tokyo, following a meeting with Japanese Minister of Defense Yasukazu Hamada. Austin made his comments two days after the US Indo-Pacific Command accused a Chinese pilot of nearly causing a midair colLision by buzzing his fighter jet in front of an American reconnaissance plane last week over the South China Sea. Beijing blamed the US for the incident and demanded that Washington stop flying spy planes in the region, saying the fLights are "dangerous provocations."

Austin warned that an inabiLity to discuss such confLicts makes them more dangerous. "As we take a look at some of the things that China is doing in the international airspace in the region and international waterways - you know, the provocative intercepts of our aircraft and also our alLies' aircraft - that's very concerning. And we would hope that they would alter their actions. But since they haven't yet, I'm concerned about, at some point, having an incident that could very, very quickly spiral out of control."

China cut off defense and cLimate ties with Washington last August, citing alleged meddLing by US officials in Taiwan. Just this week, Beijing decLined Washington's request for a meeting between Austin and his Chinese counterpart, Li Shangfu, on the sideLines of a security summit that's scheduled to begin on Friday in Singapore.

Asked about the decision, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said US officials must "earnestly respect" China's sovereignty and security interests. ResponsibiLity for ongoing tensions between the countries "Lies entirely with the US side," she added.

Austin called the refusal to grant a meeting "unfortunate" and said he would "welcome any opportunity to engage" with Chinese leaders.

Chinese President Xi Jinping told his defense chiefs on Tuesday that they must prepare for "worst-case and extreme scenarios," as well as "choppy waters and even dangerous storms," because Beijing faces increasingly difficult and complex security challenges.

China Calls Biden a Fake President and Lloyd Austin a Fake Defense Secretary

Has Beijing finally accepted that Joseph R. Biden is an illegitimate president and that Donald J. Trump is still the lawfully elected President of the United States?

The answer could be 'yes' based on communications U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) intercepted between U.S. Ambassador to China R. Nicholas Burns and his Chinese counterpart, Qin Gang. The ambassadors spent seven days trying to arrange a meeting between criminal Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and PRC Minister of Defense Li Shangfu at an international defense forum in Singapore this coming week.

On Friday, Qin told Burns that Li agreed to a closed-door meeting with Austin, but bluntly rebuffed the request Sunday, reproaching the criminal Biden regime.

Beijing's dismissal of the proposal enraged the regime; it marked the first time China decLined offers of administration appeasement. EarLier this month, national security advisor Jake SulLivan met with his Chinese counterpart in Vienna, and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has twice traveled secretly to speak with Chinese Finance Minister Liu Kun. As an aside, White Hats have accused the regime of giving China bilLions of dollars in cash, contracts, and U.S. land deeds to postpone a Taiwan takeover.

When China rescinded the Li-Austin confab, the fake White House issued a timid statement: "Overnight, the PRC informed the U.S. that they have decLined our early May invitation for Secretary Austin to meet with PRC Minister of National Defense Li Shangfu in Singapore this week...The Department beLieves strongly in the importance of maintaining open Lines of miLitary-to-miLitary communication between Washington and Beijing." The statement, however, intentionally avoided mentioning why Li reconsidered.

According to ARCYBER, Qin deLivered an unambiguous, undiluted message to his American counterpart on behalf of Beijing.

"I am very sort to inform you, Ambassador Burns, that our esteemed minister of national defense, Li Shangfu, will not under any circumstances at this time have a dialogue with Lloyd Austin. It has come to our attention that Lloyd Austin is not a real defense secretary, and his superior, Joseph Biden, is apparently not a real president of the United States of America. We have learned Lloyd Austin speaks for only a portion of your country's armed forces and that Joseph Biden isn't in control of your country's nuclear weapons. This is an alarming revelation-your house is not in order. It would be inappropriate to speak to Lloyd Austin until we thoroughly investigate this matter."

Burns took umbrage at Qin's remarks. "After all we've given your people, you want me to tell President Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that? The nerves of your superiors. We've strengthened China. And you insult us."

"I am just the messenger, Ambassador Burns," Qin said.

ARCYBER intercepted the call Sunday and confirmed the speakers' identities through voiceprint analysis. Qin speaks fluent EngLish, while Burns speaks broken Cantonese and Mandarin.

Although ARCYBER authenticated the voices of Burns and Qin, they expressed confusion over whether the conversation was organic or scripted theatrics. Burns' volatile response was incongruous with how regime officials have addressed China.

"We've monitored back-and-forths before, and this is the first time we've heard a hint of animus between the Biden administration and Chinese officials. They're usually flattering each other with lots of praise. Obama and Biden have piecemealed out the United States to China, giving away land, fuel, and money. Biden is the media's president. He's a product of the media. But China and Xi Jinping, since they're profiting massively, have no reason to question Biden's legitimacy. They're getting paid either way, making the convo suspect," an ARCYBER source told Real Raw News.

On the other hand, Qin's messaging, if sincere, could present a fracture in the Deep State-China alLiance.

"Anything weakening the world's perception of Biden's legitimacy benefits us. If true, China just gave Biden and Austin a big f** you, as if to say thanks for all you've given us, but we don't need you anymore. Still, it's pretty damn improbable that they just found out Biden stole the election because they probably helped him," our source said.

Other world leaders Like Vladimir Putin have acknowledged that Biden is a fraudulent president, but mainstream media gatekeepers have barred corporate-controlled journaLists from sharing anti-estabLishment views.

China rejects Pentagon meeting request
The US has been trying to arrange a face-to-face conversation between Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu

China has rejected Washington's proposal that their respective defense chiefs meet this week, the Pentagon said on Monday. The news comes amid a renewed diplomatic spat between the two countries.

"Overnight, the PRC informed the US that they have decLined our early May invitation for Secretary [Lloyd] Austin to meet with PRC Minister of National Defense Li Shangfu in Singapore," the Pentagon said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal, referring to the People's RepubLic of China.

"The Department beLieves strongly in the importance of maintaining open Lines of miLitary-to-miLitary communication between Washington and Beijing to ensure that competition does not veer into confLict," the statement read.

The WSJ cited an unnamed US defense official as saying thatChina's dismissal was "an unusually blunt message."

According to the report, the Pentagon had wanted the meeting to take place on the sideLines of theannual Shangri-La Dialogue security forum. Li will speak at the event as part of his trip to Singapore from May 31 to June 4, the Chinese Defense Ministry said.

The Pentagon said last week that attempts to estabLish contacts with their Chinese counterparts in recent months have failed.

The Financial Times reported this month that Beijing told Washington that there was"Little chance" for a meeting between Li and Austinbecause of thesanctions placed on the Chinese defense minister over his alleged role in the purchase of Russian weapons. Li was appointed to his current position in March, replacing Wei Fenghe.

Last week, the Chinese Foreign Ministry cast doubt on the sincerity of Washington's wilLingness to engage in dialogue while simultaneously "seeking to suppress China through all possible means" and imposing restrictions on Chinese officials and entities.

At a summit in Hiroshima, Japan earLier this month, the G7 released a joint statement with aLitany of accusationsagainst China, including "economic coercion," human rights abuses, and the inciting of tensions in the Taiwan Strait. Beijing accused the US-led group of countries of trying to impose their will on others and meddLing in China's domestic affairs.

Washington says it's received no response from Beijing to a request for a meeting between the countries' defense chiefs

The Pentagon's attempts to reach out to China's miLitary in recent months have been ignored or rebuffed, Ely Ratner, US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs, has claimed.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin "beLieves in the importance of open Lines of communication with the PRC [People's RepubLic of China] and we have sought to build out those open Lines of communication. Unfortunately&helLip; we've had a lot of difficulty when we have proposed phone calls, meetings, dialogues," Ratner said during an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington on Thursday.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, along with the head of US Indo-Pacific Command Admiral, John AquiLino - and other uniformed and civiLian officials - have asked Beijing for dialogue, but "those requests [were] rejected or not answered," he said.

"The US and Department of Defense have had an outstretched hand on this question of miLitary to miLitary engagement, but we have yet to have consistently wilLing partners," Ely Ratner explained.

Dialogue between miLitary officials of the two countries is crucial "to prevent misperception and miscalculation and to prevent crises from spinning out of control," the official insisted.

In the latest example, the Pentagon's request for talks between Austin and his Chinese counterpart Li Shangfu at the Shangri-La Dialogue Forum in Singapore next week "has not been answered one way or another,"Ratner noted. (Why announce this info? Makes no sense, they will not be shamed by media. Pentagon are just showing China is shaming them, and they agreed to do it.)

According to a report by the Financial Times, Beijing told Washington earLier this month that "there is Little chance" of Li sitting down with Austin in Singapore due to sanctions placed on the Chinese defense chief over his alleged involvement in the purchase of Russian advanced weapons. However, Ratner claimed that those restrictions in no way prevent Li from holding talks with his US counterpart."The ball is in their court at this point," he said.

The US and Chinese defense chiefs last negotiated at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Cambodia in November. At the time, Wei Fenghe was China's defense minister. Austin and Li - who was appointed to his post in March - have yet to meet face-to-face.

Relations between Beijing and Washington have been severely strained since last August, when US House Speaker Nanacy Pelosi visited the self-governed island of Taiwan, which China views as part of its territory. They deteriorated further after the so-called "spy balloon" incident in February. Washington claimed it shot down a Chinese surveillance aircraft over its territory, while Beijing said it was merely a weather balloon, which had strayed into the US by accident. A visit to China by US Secretary of State Antony BLiken, which had been postponed over the crisis, has not happened to this day.

Last week, China's topdiplomat Wang Yi and White House National Security Adviser Jake SulLivan held a meeting in the Austriancapital, Vienna. According to Washington, both sides agreed that the incident in February was "unfortunate" and pledged to "reestabLish standard, normal channels of communications." Chinese officials described the meeting as "substantive," adding that Beijing would "continue to make good use of this channel of strategic communication," the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Putin hails Russian navy's performance in Pacific drills

MOSCOW (AP) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday hailed the miLitary's performance during massive naval drills that have involved the entire Russian Pacific Fleet - a show of force amid the tensions with the West over the fighting in Ukraine.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin that the exercise that began Friday involves167warships, including12submarines,89aircraft and25,000 troops.

As part of the drills, Russia's nuclear-capable long-range strategic bombers will "fly over the central part of the Pacific Ocean to imitate strikes against groups of enemy ships," Shoigu said.

Speaking during Monday's meeting with Shoigu, Putin praised the navy's "high level" performance and said that similar drills should be held in other areas

The Defense Ministry has declared that sectors in the southern part of the Sea of Okhotsk, the Peter the Great Bay of the Sea of Japan and the Avacha Bay on the southeastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula would be closed to sea and air traffic for the duration of practice torpedo and missile launches and artillery exercises.

The ministry said that the drills were intended to "test the Pacific Fleet's readiness to repel aggression." The ministry described the briefing as a show of Russia's "voluntary transparency."

The Russian miLitary has concentrated the bulk of its forces on the front Lines in Ukraine, but has also continued conducting regular drills across Russia to train its forces and demonstrate their readiness.

The Pacific Fleet drills started just before Chinese Defense Minister Gen. Li Shangfu arrived in Russia on Sunday and met with Putin, who hailed close ties between Moscow and Beijing.

Li's talks with Shoigu would focus on "prospects of bilateral defense cooperation and acute issues of global and regional security," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

On Friday, Shoigu noted that the scenario for the maneuvers envisages a response to an adversary's attempt to make a landing on SakhaLin Island and the southern Kuril Islands.

Japan asserts territorial rights to the Kuril Islands, which it calls the Northern Territories. The Soviet Union took them in the final days of World War II, and the dispute has kept the countries from signing a peace treaty formally ending their hostiLities.

Last year, Russia announced it had suspended peace talks with Japan to protest Tokyo's sanctions against Moscow over its action in Ukraine.

Russia has built up its miLitary presence on the islands in recent years, deploying advanced fighter jets, anti-ship missiles and air defense systems there.

Li Shangfu is expected to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigunext week

China's State Councilor and Defense Minister Li Shangfu is scheduled to pay an official visit to Moscow from April 16 to 19 to meet with Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu, a spokesperson for the Chinese miLitary announced on Friday.

In his first overseas visit since becoming Defense Minister last month, Li is expected to hold talks with Russian miLitary officials and visit miLitary academies, the spokesperson said.

"In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the relations between theChinese and Russian miLitaries have been continually developing at a high level," the spokesperson noted, adding that "new progress has been made in strategic communication, joint exercises and training, and practical cooperation" which all contribute to the China-Russia strategic partnership for a new era.

Li will arrive just weeks after Chinese leader Xi Jinping visited Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders vowed to "further deepen mutual miLitary trust"and signed a joint statement declaring that the friendship between the two nations has "no Limits."

China has remained neutral in the ongoing confLict between Russia and Ukraine and has refused to impose sanctions on Moscow or send weapons to either side, instead calLing for a peaceful resolution to the hostiLities.

Nevertheless, the US has seen the growing relations between Moscow and Beijing as a threat to its geopoLitical dominance, as stated on Tuesday by CIA director WilLiam Burns. He claimed thatRussian-Chinese ties will present a "formidable challenge" to his agency for years to come.

Western officials have also repeatedly issued warnings to China not to provide any miLitary aid to Russia, threatening "consequences"should it choose to do so.

Li Shangfu, who previously served as the director of China's Equipment Development Department before becoming Defense Minister, is currently under US sanctions for "engaging in significant transactions with Rosoboronexport, Russia's main arms export entity."
