Q Research General #20373: They Wont Even Be Able To Walk Down The Street Edition
A former New York police chief and longtime Democrat says he is so disgusted with the contempt members of his party have for cops that he is running for Congress as a Republican.
Former Rochester Police Chief La'Ron Singletary, who is vying to represent the Empire State's 25th Congressional District, told The Daily Wire he can no longer support the Democrat Party because of its anti-police rhetoric.
"The demonization, the demoralization, and the defunding the police rhetoric from the Democratic Party, coupled with other ideologies the Democratic Party started to take on caused me to leave the party," said Singletary, 42. "The Democratic Party was no longer the party that I knew it to be, and no longer the party of my parents."
Echoing the remarks of another lifelong Democrat who left for the GOP, former President Ronald Reagan, Singletary told The Daily Wire he "didn't leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me."
"We live in a country that allows us to change political parties if we no longer agree with the party's beliefs," he said. "When politicians put politics before people, it's wrong."

Warren, who was first elected in 2013, will not run on another party line, essentially assuring city councilman Evans will become mayor of Rochester.
Evans handily took the race, snagging 66% of the vote.
Warren sparked national headlines last year for her handling of the Daniel Prude case. In September, the entire Rochester Police Department (RPD) command staff, including then-Police Chief La'Ron Singletary, resigned over the handling of the case and Warren's actions.
"As a man of integrity, I will not sit idly by while outside entities attempt to destroy my character," Singletary said at the time, a veiled shot at Warren. "The events over the past week are an attempt to destroy my character and integrity. The members of the Rochester Police Department and the Greater Rochester Community know my reputation and know what I stand for. The mischaracterization and the politicization of the actions that I took after being informed of Mr. Prude's death is not based on facts, and is not what I stand for."
Following his resignation announcement, Warren fired Singletary. The former Rochester police chief soon after filed a notice of claim to the city alleging defamation of character, hostile work environment, and wrongful and retaliatory termination wherein he accused Warren of repeatedly telling him to lie over the Prude case.
"I repeatedly refused to lie for Mayor Warren," Singletary said in the filing. "Pressure to support Mayor Warren's narrative also came from other city officials."
TLDR- Police chief not comped and did not stand for this bullshit. Democrat woke leftard primaried by another democrat TBD.

Fired Rochester police chief claims mayor asked him to lie in Daniel Prude's death investigation
'The Mayor wanted me to portray a story that just was not true,' La'Ron Singletary wrote
A former Rochester police chief who was fired in connection with the department's response to the death of Daniel Prude revealed the city's mayor pushed him to lie about her handling of the investigation - and claimed he was ousted when he refused to do so, recently filed court papers show.
"I repeatedly refused to lie for Mayor Warren."
- Former Rochester Police Chief La'Ron Singletary
La'Ron Singletary, who was fired from the Rochester Police Department (RPD) in September shortly after announcing his plans to retire, on Wednesday filed a notice of claim with the Monroe Court Clerk's office announcing his intention to sue Mayor Lovely Warren and the city for defamation of character, the creation of a hostile work environment and his "wrongful and retaliatory termination," according to the documents.
Singletary alleged Warren and other city officials who were acting on her behalf "impugned my performance as Chief of Police of the City of Rochester by making false statements and material omissions about my performance and discharge of duties in the matter of the treatment of Daniel Prude in the custody of the Rochester Police, his subsequent death, the internal investigations conducted by the Rochester Police Department and my communication with Mayor Warren and other city officials."
"I repeatedly refused to lie for Mayor Warren," he wrote in the court papers.
Singletary alleged that Warren urged him to omit facts and give false information to back her claim that it wasn't until months later that she learned key details of the March 23 encounter that led to Prude's death.
He wrote that Warren was especially worried that his testimony before a city council panel investigating Prude's death would undermine her repeated assertions that the then-chief hid information from her.
Singletary wrote that those assertions, which Warren made at news conferences and in TV interviews after news of Prude's death became public in September, were false, defamed his character and harmed his reputation as an upstanding law enforcement official.
"[T]he Mayor wanted me to portray a story that just was not true and asking (sic) that I omit certain relevant facts when I testified before the City Council investigation of the Daniel Prude matter," the court filing states.
Singletary went on to explain that during a meeting with Warren on Sept. 7, the mayor told him she would "never" ask him to lie but then urged him not to mention her knowledge that police officers were physically involved with Prude.
"The Mayor further asked me to omit the specifies of our conversation when I discussed the details of the Medical Examiner's report and instead testify that the Medical Examiner's report was mentioned only in passing and to further testify that, in hindsight, I should not have told the Mayor 'in passing by the elevator," court papers state. "The Mayor then asked me to recite what I would say in my testimony ... I had text messages and emails indicating there have been conversations and communications with the Mayor and her administration. I repeated that my integrity means too much to me and that I would never lie for anyone."

Protests drive Black police chiefs off the job: 'These people get in the way of the narrative'
Two more high-profile Black police chiefs announced this week that they plan to step down amid protest unrest, spurring more questions about whether Black Lives Matter is hurting rather than helping Black Americans.
In New York, Rochester Police Chief La'Ron Singletary said Wednesday he refused to "sit idly by while outside entities attempt to destroy my character." A day earlier, Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall submitted her resignation after coming under criticism for her handling of anti-police protests.
Their departures come a month after the retirement of Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best, the city's first Black female chief, who fought for months to squelch protest rioting as the city council, which has no Black members, voted to cut the department's budget.
Black conservatives were quick to point out the irony. "There was a time in this country where systemic racism existed; and you couldn't find a black police chief," tweeted Allen Sutton, founder of Stewardship America.
"Now, black police chiefs are being forced out; by no less than the liberal establishment and Democrat party leaders," he said. "Seattle? Rochester? Who's next?"
