Announcing Ivana's death, Trump wrote, "She was a wonderful, beautiful and amazing woman who led a great and inspirational life." You can imagine him shaking his head and murmuring, "Helluva broad", and you can only agree.
Ivana, the most fabulous first lady they never had
Gritty, witty and brilliantly trashy, she was the brains behind the Donald
Graydon Carter was a founding editor of Spy magazine. '''Spy"' magazine ran from 1986 to 1998, and was obsessed with Donald Trump. In May 1989, Spy's cover star was Ivana Trump, Donald's first wife. Alongside a close-up of her heavily made-up face, the cover line read: "Ivanarama! An investigative tribute to the most superspecial Trump of all".
Inside were ten pages of unflattering profile, the gist of which was that Ivana was a) a piece of work and b) not any of the things Donald Trump claimed she was. So, not an Olympic skier but merely a good one; not a top model but someone who'd occasionally modelled fur coats in Canada; and not a certified interior designer (Ivana was at the time responsible for the d?cor of Trump's commercial properties) but merely someone with a genius for grotesque ostentation.
In an interview with Good Morning America in 2017, Ivana, who was promoting her memoir, Raising Trump, said, "Melania [Trump's third wife] is there and I don't want to cause any kind of jealousy or anything like that because I'm the first Trump wife. I'm the first lady, OK?" Melania's office, sounding very much like Melania, put out a statement that said: "Unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise."

Ghislaine Maxwell attended Vanity Fair party after killed Epstein expos?
Ghislaine Maxwell yukked it up with celebrities at a Vanity Fair Oscar party - years after the magazine killed an expos? detailing her role in aiding pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's sex abuse of girls.
The 60-year-old madam was photographed in a glam, sparkly evening dress at the party in West Hollywood in March 2014.
Maxwell was shown grinning widely in a series of photos at the event, hugging one guest in a suit and posing beside the world's richest man, Elon Musk, who later insisted she photobombed him.
The party was thrown by Vanity Fair's then-editor-in-chief, Graydon Carter - who'd also been at the helm in 2002 when the mag refused to run an interview with Annie Farmer, one of the four accusers whose testimony led to Maxwell's recent sex-trafficking conviction.
The magazine's then-star journalist, Vicky Ward, last week revealed a transcript of Maxwell angrily demanding that VF nix the interview from a piece on Epstein. Ward noted how Epstein also "paid a visit to Graydon Carter at the Vanity Fair offices" before the article was spiked.
Months later, the magazine instead wrote a society profile titled "The Talented Mr. Epstein," starting with glowing praise about the "charming," "enigmatic" and "very generous" multimillionaire.
In the 2002 article, Epstein bragged about his ties to the rich and powerful, including Prince Andrew and former President Bill Clinton, and called Maxwell his "best friend."
Epstein would go on to plead guilty to soliciting sex from a minor in 2008 and later be charged with sex-trafficking, including of underage girls, before he hanged himself in a Manhattan lockup in 2019 while awaiting trial. Maxwell was arrested on related sex-raps in 2020 and convicted last month.
Ward last week said it was her "eternal regret" that Vanity Fair refused to run the damning interview with Farmer and her older sister, Maria, detailing the now-notorious late pedophile's abuse and Maxwell's role in it.
"I submitted the story to my bosses at Vanity Fair - with the Farmers' description of events and a general denial from Epstein and Maxwell included," Ward wrote on her Substack.
"I did my journalistic duty: telling both sides of this ugly story. ... But Vanity Fair had other plans," the scribe wrote.
Ward noted that "shortly after my interview with the Farmer sisters and the follow-up with Maxwell, Epstein paid a visit to Graydon Carter at the Vanity Fair offices, and the Farmers' allegations were cut from my article.
"Carter has said I didn't have sufficient reporting. I disagree," she wrote.
Carter - who ended his 25-year run at the mag in 2017 - confirmed to the New York Times Magazine that Epstein "showed up at the office one day, and he was sitting in our lobby.

Brooke Geahan and The Accompanied Literary Society
threw a party at The Standard Hotel last night,
with guests of honor Gay Talese and George Lois, who just might be the original Don Draper…Lois' book, "Covering The 60s", is an impressive collection of his Esquire covers from the 1960s.
The Accompanied Literary Society supports literature through
book launches, readings, film screenings,
and intimate salons.
Past hosts have included Jonathan Ames, Graydon Carter, E.L. Doctrow, Jhumpa Lahiri, and, frustratingly for MA students everywhere, James Franco.

Vicky Ward, Graydon Carter and Ghislaine Maxwell
Virginia Giuffre, an alleged Epstein victim, filed a lawsuit in 2015 that accused longtime Epstein friend Ghislaine Maxwell of engaging in sex trafficking by facilitating his sexual encounters with teenage girls. Maxwell has denied the charges and the parties settled out of court in May 2017 (https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/20/jeffrey-epstein-related-lawsuit-1229908).
Vicky Ward wrote the Vanity Fair profile on Epstein (https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2003/03/jeffrey-epstein-200303)
In an interview with Democracy Now on July 8, 2019 (on the Monday after Epstein's arrest Saturday evening), Ward says she was going to include verifiable testimonials from two sisters who said they were molested by Epstein in her 2003 article, but her then-editor Graydon Carter cut their accounts after Epstein came to his office requesting he do so (https://www.democracynow.org/2019/7/8/jeffrey_epstein_a_billionaire_friend_of).
Ward says in the interview: "So, Ghislaine was the one who phoned these young women's mother to reassure her how safe they would be, and-because, of course, the poor mother now blames herself terribly for what happened."
Yet Ward is photographed with Maxwell and Debbie Bancroft attending an after-party for "Easy Virtue" at the Gramercy Park Hotel on May 11, 2009 in New York.
Ward was a Vanity Fair contributor from 2001-2012 and has been connected to Maxwell from at least 2003 to 2009. There is a photo of Carter and Maxwell embracing (photo 6) on March 7, 2007 at an event honoring Cater (oddly, Harvey Weinstein is also in the frame).

A NOTE FROM JOE SCARBOROUGH
Vanity Fair. Nov2005, Issue 543, p118-142. 5p.
A former congressman turned MSNBC pundit defends himself; in praise of Jennifer–for the most part; bring back the draft!; kind words for Marian Fontana; Hitchens under attack; everyone's a film critic; and more
I have been a loyal reader of Vanity Fair for some time. But that was before James Wolcott used his October 2003 column to suggest that I murdered an employee while I was a member of Congress ["MSNBC's Fox Hunt"].
His libelous charge, pulled from a hate site on the Internet, led readers to believe that a good woman named Lori Klausutis carried on an adulterous sexual affair with a congressman before being killed in a sleazy sex-scandal cover-up. The article also suggested that this imaginary sex scandal forced me to leave office. I was painted as the Republican Party's answer to Gary Condit, saved from prosecution by a right-wing media machine.
I have long held fast to the rule that I do not respond to rumors, but my assistant suggested that I make an exception this time since the lie published could get me executed, were I a black man living in Texas. And while I cringe at responding to Mr. Wolcott's gutter reporting two years later, I need to set the record straight on your article's implication that I am a murderer.
Here are the facts Vanity Fair and James Wolcott would have learned had they spent five minutes on the telephone engaging in rudimentary fact-checking: (1) Loft worked in my annex office in Okaloosa County, Florida. (2) I met her no more than three times; I was never alone with her. (3) I didn't leave Congress because of her death; I announced my retirement from Congress in May 2001–she passed away several months later.
Vanity Fair's shameful reporting spawned a thousand conspiracy theories. But instead of writing a letter or hiring a fleet of lawyers, I called editor Graydon Carter and Mr. Wolcott to point out the recklessness of the charges and the pain caused to all involved. After a meeting with Mr. Carter, I even convinced my wife that it was safe to bring the publication back into our home. I was naive enough to believe that these lies would fade away without my public denunciation of Mr. Wolcott and Vanity Fair. I was mistaken.
After a March 2005 profile of Michael Moore ["Moore's War," by Judy Bachrach] published a Web-site domain name that Moore purchased, JoeScarboroughKilledHisIntern.com, I was understandably concerned that Vanity Fair would promote its original reckless charge.
On March 30, 2005, Mr. Wolcott wrote on his blog, jameswolcott.com (which is linked to VanityFair.com), that he had removed material about the death of Lori Klausutis from his book, not because he knew it to be false but because he was told that I was a pretty nice guy. Even so, he concluded that he would never again give anyone "on the other side" a break. Funny, but I always thought I was the one giving Mr. Wolcott and Vanity Fair the break by refraining from filing a lawsuit.
Most politicians and public figures know that being lied about is the price of admission to their jobs. Sadly, Lori and her family. did not do anything to deserve this cruel treatment by Vanity Fair and its writer.

Really long article on Epstein, of course they try every way possible to connect Trump, absurdly, surprised there wasn't a "they both like hamburgers"…but otherwise good article.
I found this bit interesting. The Vanity Fair reported that was writing story ACTUALLY PUT GUARDS ON HER TWIN NEWBORNS BECAUSE SHE HEARD EPSTEIN ASKED WHERE SHE WAS DELIVERING HER BABIES. I don't recall seeing THAT anywhere, but pretty interesting that one of the media felt THAT threatened by him.

A Missed Opportunity to Expose Epstein's Abuse
Vicky Ward, who wrote a 2003 profile about Epstein for Vanity Fair, revealed at the Daily Beast on Sunday that her profile had originally contained a highly credible allegation that Epstein had molested a 16-year-old girl, but it was cut from the published version by then-editor Graydon Carter. Ward said that Epstein - who had pointedly and repeatedly asked her, "What do you have on the girls?" during their interviews - denied the accusation and tried to discredit it in some unsettling ways:
He called Graydon. He also repeatedly phoned me. He said, "Just the mention of a 16-year-old girl... carries the wrong impression. I don't see what it adds to the piece. And that makes me unhappy."
Next, Epstein attacked both me and my sources. Letters purporting to be from the women were sent to Graydon, which the women claimed (and gave evidence to show me) were fabricated fakes. I had my own notes to disprove Epstein's claims against me.
And then there was Epstein himself, who, I'd be told after I'd given birth, got past security at Condé Nast and went into the Vanity Fair offices. By now everyone at the magazine was completely spooked.
Ward said that Epstein spooked her too, enough so that she had a guard placed on her newborn twins after he had asked her what hospital they were being treated at. When the allegation of molestation was cut, she was devastated:
I began to cry. It was so wrong. The family had been so brave. I thought about the mother, her fear of the dark, of the harm she feared might come to her daughters. And then I thought of all the rich, powerful men in suits ready to talk about Epstein's "great mind."
In the end, she wrote, Carter said he believed Epstein over the mother and two daughters who had made the claim. Vanity Fair, in a statement to the Daily Beast, explained that "Epstein denied the charges at the time and since the claims were unsubstantiated and no criminal investigation had been initiated, we decided not to include them."
Ward insisted that she does not blame Carter for making what he thought was the right call at the time, but that "it has often struck me that if my piece had named the women, the FBI might have come after Epstein sooner and perhaps some of his victims, now, in the latest spate of allegations, allegedly either paid off or too fearful of retribution to speak up, would have been saved."

Regarding Maria Farmer, Epstein accuser:
Account confirmed by artist Eric Fischl. Look him up.
That's weird.
"The journalist Vicky Ward said that she heard about Farmer's allegations while reporting a profile on Epstein for Vanity Fair in 2003, but that the magazine's editor, Graydon Carter, ultimately cut that section from her piece. Ward says she also verified Farmer and her sister's story with several witnesses, including the artist Eric Fischl, who had been a post-graduate instructor of Farmer's at the Santa Fe Art Institute. "They all verified," Ward told Democracy Now. "They remembered these two women recounting their trauma at the time."

"I fled from the room and called the sheriff's office but did not get any response," Farmer writes in the affidavit. "The Wexner's security staff refused to let me leave the property. I pleaded with them and my father drove up from Kentucky to Ohio to help me. I was held against my will for approximately 12 hours until I was ultimately allowed to leave with my father."
In an interview with Democracy Now, the journalist Vicky Ward said that she first learned of Farmer's allegations while reporting on Epstein for Vanity Fair in 2003. Unfortunately, the magazine's editor, Graydon Carter, cut that section from her piece after taking a meeting with the billionaire. Ward also verified Farmer and her sister's account with several witnesses, including the artist Eric Fischl, who had been a postgraduate instructor for Farmer at the Santa Fe Art Institute.
Fischl verified her account, so maybe he's not a bad dude. Idk. But his artwork says he knows something. At least about his market audience.

Welcome to the Hellfire Club
Our elites cavorted with a pedophile, almost certainly aware of what he was up to. This is how revolutions begin.
By Michael Warren Davis - July 11, 2019
For once, I'm with New York Times writer Michelle Goldberg: Jeffrey Epstein is the ultimate symbol of plutocratic rot.
In her latest column, Goldberg interviews Vicky Ward, who covered the 2003 revelations of Epstein's sex abuse for Vanity Fair. Ward's editor, Graydon Carter, allegedly ran interference for the high-flying pervert, nixing her discussion with two women who claimed to have been assaulted by Epstein. "He's sensitive about the young women," Carter explained to Ward.
This appears to be something of a pattern. "What is so amazing to me is how his entire social circle knew about this and just blithely overlooked it," Ward says of Epstein's pederasty. "While praising his charm, brilliance and generous donations to Harvard, those [I] spoke to...all mentioned the girls as an aside."
The Epstein case is first and foremost about the casual victimization of vulnerable girls. But it is also a political scandal, if not a partisan one. It reveals a deep corruption among mostly male elites across parties, and the way the very rich can often purchase impunity for even the most loathsome of crimes. If it were fiction, it would be both too sordid and too on-the-nose to be believable, like a season of "True Detective" penned by a doctrinaire Marxist.
Of course, Goldberg-being a Democrat-doesn't want us to think of this as a partisan scandal. Yet Nancy Pelosi's daughter conspicuously tweeted that it's "quite likely that some of our faves are implicated." We all know by now that President Bill Clinton was a frequent flyer on the Lolita Express, Epstein's private jet, which ferried wealthy perverts from the United States to his island-sized rape dungeon off the coast of Saint Thomas.
Still, a few Republicans will almost certainly be implicated, too. Now, look: I voted for President Donald Trump in 2016. If I don't vote for him in 2020, it will be because I've lost faith in the whole democratic process and have moved to a hole in the ground to live as a hobbit. Having said that, Trump is definitely tainted by Epstein. In a 2002 interview with New York Magazine, the president called him a "terrific guy." "It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do," Trump said, "and many of them are on the younger side."
Don't pretend that's an innocent remark. It's like when Uncle Steve passes out face-down on the kitchen floor at the family Christmas party and Uncle Bill says, "I guess that one likes to drink." We still love Uncle Steve, even if he does overdo it on the fire water. And our elites still love Epstein, even if he does rape little girls. None of us is perfect, after all.
This is how America is. This is how our ruling class works: Democrat, Republican, whatever. As the inimitable Matthew Walther points out, there's a reason people believe in Pizzagate. The Hellfire Club is real. And for decades, we've emboldened them considerably.
Remember how Democrats and centrist Republicans mocked conservatives for making such a stink about Monica Lewinsky's blue dress? The media elite competed to see who could appear the most unfazed by the fact that our sax-playing president was getting a bit on the side. "I mean, heh heh, I love my wife, but, heh, the 1950s called, man! They want their morality police back."
Well, look where that got us. Two confirmed adulterers have occupied the White House in living memory; both are now under fire for cavorting with a child sex slaver on Orgy Island. Go ahead and act surprised, Renault.
Surely I'm not the only one who noticed that the Epstein sex abuse timeline is nearly identical to the Catholic Church sex abuse timeline. Both investigations were initiated in the early 2000s. Both revealed that the exploitation of children was an open secret in the highest echelons of power. Both investigations were closed a few years later, though not resolved. We assumed justice would take its course, and slowly began to forget. And then within two years of each other, both scandals emerged again, more sordid than ever. And on both occasions, we realized that nothing had changed.
Whew. Now I get why people become communists. Not the new-wave, gender-fluid, pink-haired Trots, of course. Nor the new far Left, which condemns child predators like Epstein out one side of its mouth while demanding sympathy for pedophiles out the other.
No: I mean the old-fashioned, blue-collar, square-jawed Stalinists. I mean the guy with eight fingers and 12 kids who saw photos of the annual Manhattan debutantes' ball, felt the rumble in his stomach, and figured he may as well eat the rich.

"To appreciate the significance of what I'm about to share, you really need to go back and read yesterday's post: The Jeffrey Epstein Rabbit Hole Goes a Lot Deeper Than You Think.
In that piece, I shared many lesser known, but extremely bizarre facts about Jeffrey Epstein and the people around him. I also noted that it appeared his real job was to run a blackmail operation to ensnare some of the most wealthy and powerful people on earth. I alluded to the possibility that he was collecting this priceless information on behalf of a third party, and then just today we learn the following via the Daily Beast:
"Is the Epstein case going to cause a problem [for confirmation hearings]?" Acosta had been asked. Acosta had explained, breezily, apparently, that back in the day he'd had just one meeting on the Epstein case. He'd cut the non-prosecution deal with one of Epstein's attorneys because he had "been told" to back off, that Epstein was above his pay grade. "I was told Epstein 'belonged to intelligence' and to leave it alone," he told his interviewers in the Trump transition, who evidently thought that was a sufficient answer and went ahead and hired Acosta. (The Labor Department had no comment when asked about this.)...
For almost two decades, for some nebulous reason, whether to do with ties to foreign intelligence, his billions of dollars, or his social connections, Epstein, whose alleged sexual sickness and horrific assaults on women without means or ability to protect themselves is well-known in his circle, remained untouchable.
It should be noted the reason I attach credibility to the above is based on who wrote it, Vicky Ward. She has an extensive history of digging into Epstein, and wrote one of the earliest profiles on him back in 2003. As she notes in today's article:
I spent many months on his trail in 2002 for Vanity Fair and discovered not only that he was not who he claimed to be professionally, but also that he had allegedly assaulted two young sisters, one of whom had been underage at the time. Very bravely, they were prepared to go on the record. They were afraid he'd use all his influence to discredit them-and their fear turned out to be legitimate.
As the article was being readied for publication, Epstein made a visit to the office of Vanity Fair's then-editor, Graydon Carter, and suddenly the women and their allegations were removed from the article. "He's sensitive about the young women," Carter told me at the time. (Editor's Note: Carter has previously denied this allegation.) He also mentioned he'd finagled a photograph of Epstein in a swimsuit out of the encounter. And there was also some feeble excuse about the article "being stronger as a business story." (Epstein had also leaned heavily on my ex-husband's uncle, Conrad Black, to try to exert his influence on me, which was particularly unwelcome, given that Black happened to be my ex-husband's boss at the time.)
Many people had assumed Epstein was untouchable merely because he had so much dirt on so many powerful people, but it increasingly looks far bigger than that. It appears he may have been untouchable because he was systematically collecting this information on behalf of an intelligence agency. If so, we need to find out precisely who he was working for.
This should be the number one story in the country right now. Blackmail at this level is a genuine national security issue."

Bombshell: Alex Acosta Reportedly Claimed Jeffrey Epstein "Belonged To Intelligence"
Authored by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,
To appreciate the significance of what I'm about to share, you really need to go back and read yesterday's post: The Jeffrey Epstein Rabbit Hole Goes a Lot Deeper Than You Think.

Former Vanity Fair Reporter Accuses Editor Of Covering Up Evidence Against Epstein
A former Vanity Fair reporter alleged Monday that the publication's editor cut out salacious details regarding Jeffrey Epstein's involvement with underage girls in a profile story written in 2002.
Epstein was arrested and charged with underage sex trafficking Saturday. He was formally accused of paying underage girls for sexual massages in Florida between 1999 and 2005, The New York Times reported Saturday. He is a registered sex offender in Florida.
Vicky Ward, who previously worked for Vanity Fair and is now a NYT investigative reporter, called out former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter over Twitter Monday for allegedly covering up details in a profile story published in 2002. She tweeted that the information Carter took out of her piece would have exposed Epstein as a sexual predator and potentially saved some of his victims.
Ward alleges that she uncovered "concrete, irrefutable examples of strange business practices," including "three first-person accounts from a mother and her two [underage] daughters" detailing how Epstein tried to seduce both girls.
I tried to expose Jeffrey Epstein for what he is and I was silenced. Everyone who knew about Epstein was-silenced by people with more money and power and influence. Now that silence is over. It's time for the truth to see the light.
- Vicky Ward (@VickyPJWard) July 8, 2019
After submitting her piece to Carter, Ward tweeted that he cut out the first-person accounts because "He's [Epstein] sensitive to young women," according to one of Ward's tweets.
Ward also tweeted that "people KNEW" about what Epstein was doing long before he was arrested Saturday. She wrote that President Donald Trump made comments in 2002 that Epstein likes "beautiful women...many of them on the younger side."
The thing about Jeffrey Epstein is that people KNEW this. See Trump's comment back in 2002 about Epstein liking "beautiful women...many of them on the younger side."
- Vicky Ward (@VickyPJWard) July 8, 2019
Trump allegedly banned Epstein from his Mar-A-Largo estate after Epstein "sexually assaulted an underage girl at the club," according to Bradley Edwards, a lawyer who represented Epstein's victims.
Ward included tweets stating that many of Epstein's friends are a "BIG part of this story" and "are not insignificant."
Epstein pleaded not guilty Monday to the charges.
Carter did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Writer Claims Graydon Carter 'Cut a Deal' With Jeffrey Epstein to Remove Allegations From Vanity Fair Piece
Investigative journalist Vicky Ward claimed Monday that former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter "cut a deal" with financier Jeffrey Epstein to spike allegations he molested a teenager from her 2003 profile of the wealthy financier.
In an interview with Mediaite founder Dan Abrams on his SiriusXM radio show, Ward said that she included testimonials from two sisters, one just 16, who claimed they were molested by Epstein. Ward said that Epstein paid a visit to Vanity Fair's offices while she was reporting the story, and Carter removed the allegations from her profile.
Ward said the sisters were credible: "Not only did [their] mother corroborate the two sisters' stories, so did a whole host of people of very good standing in New York."
"We were ready to go," Ward continued. But then Epstein visited Carter at Vanity Fair's offices "and between them they cut a deal to take the women's stories out."
"It was explained to me that Graydon felt that [Epstein] was 'sensitive about the women,'" Ward explained.
Ward also claimed Epstein threatened her unborn children (she was pregnant with twins at the time) over the piece. "I was then so fearful after everything that Epstein had said to me that I had to have 24/7 security on my babies because he had asked where I was giving birth," she said.

I Tried to Warn You About Sleazy Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein in 2003
When Vicky Ward profiled Jeffrey Epstein for Vanity Fair, allegations of his attempted seduction of two young sisters were excised from the final piece.
Editor's note: Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in New York on July 6, 2019, and faces federal charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. For more information, see The Daily Beast's reporting here.
"Jeffrey wanted me to tell you that you looked so pretty," the female voice said into my disbelieving ear.
It was the fall of 2002. I was pregnant, uncomfortably so, for the first time and with twins, due the following March. I was besieged by a relentless morning sickness. I was sick in street gutters, onto my desk, at dinners with friends. I suffered severe bloating and water retention.
But here was this faux-compliment coming, bizarrely and a bit grotesquely, from a woman I hadn't met-a female assistant who worked for one Jeffrey Epstein, a mysterious Gatsby-esque financier whom I'd been assigned to write about by my then-boss Graydon Carter, the editor of Vanity Fair. (Epstein had caught the attention of the press when he had flown Bill Clinton on his jet to Africa. No one knew who he was or understood how he'd made his money.)
Upon hearing of my assignment, Epstein had invited me to an off-the-record tea at his Upper East Side house (during which I distinctly remember he rudely ate all the finger food himself) and then had his assistant call to tell me he'd thought I was pretty.
At first-it was the early stages of reporting-I was amused at having been so crassly underestimated. For a man who clearly considered himself a sophisticated ladies' man (the only book he'd left out for me to see was a paperback by the Marquis de Sade), I thought his journalist-seduction technique was a bit like his table manners-in dire need of improvement.
If only it had all ended there. This was what it had been meant to be. A gossipy piece about a shadowy, slightly sinister but essentially harmless man who preferred track-pants to suits but somehow lived very large, had wealthy, important friends, hung out with models, and shied away from the press.
But it didn't.
I haven't ever wanted to go back and dwell on that dark time. But then the latest Epstein scandal broke, when Prince Andrew was accused in a Florida court filing of having sex with a 17-year-old girl while she was a "sex slave" of Epstein's.
In the last 48 hours I've had a journalist from the U.K. Sun newspaper put herself inside my foyer. I've been inundated with requests for TV interviews. And Epstein's old mentor, the convicted fraudster Steven Hoffenberg, recently released from jail after a 20-year sentence, has been pestering me and my agent to write a movie.
Separately, Hoffenberg's daughter has gotten in touch-and it's gotten me thinking. There are some injustices that maybe only time can right. And perhaps now is the time. Things happened then that simply shouldn't have, and if I don't talk about them, then probably no one will.

***
It became obvious as I was reporting his story that you could essentially divide Jeffrey Epstein's biography into two themes. One was the hidden source of his wealth-he claimed he'd fueled a lifestyle of vast homes, a private jet, and endless travel by managing the money of billionaires and taking a commission, a story that no one I spoke to believed-while the second mystery was his unorthodox lifestyle.

RTnews telegram Maxwell partied with Vanity Fair after mag killed Epstein allegations
New images have emerged showing convicted sex-trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell socializing with Vanity Fair high-rollers after the magazine killed a 2003 expose filled with accusations against Jeffrey Epstein.
Editor Graydon Carter allegedly received death threats over the potential bombshell story including a bullet on his doorstep and a severed cat's head, but insisted he dropped the piece for not meeting "legal thresholds."
Recently released transcripts suggest Maxwell had a hand in burying the damaging claims. One of the two sources, Annie Farmer, testified in Maxwell's recent trial that found her guilty of five charges and facing up to 65 years in prison.

Regarding the "Track CEOs" crumb, the editor of Vanity Fair retired a few months ago about a 25-year run. He might have seen storm clouds and bugged out while he still could.
>Graydon Carter, the editor of Vanity Fair, plans to step down from the magazine in December after a 25-year tenure, leaving the role that established him as a ringmaster of the Hollywood, Washington and Manhattan power elite.
>Mr. Carter's influence stretched from the magazine and entertainment worlds into finance, literature and politics, where President Trump, a target of Mr. Carter's poison pen for decades, still bristles at the mention of his name.
"Ringmaster of the Hollywood, Washington and Manhattan power elite", eh?
