Just musing here. From California. I left before Memorial Day weekend for Idaho because I was already so fed up with the Scamdemic, mask requirements, and lockdown there. Also, I couldn't even escape to the outdoors, because the campgrounds were closed until the end of June. Spent about two months in Idaho camping out. Put about 6000 miles on my car exploring the place and probably why I ended up with a blood clots in my leg and lungs. Not looking for sympathy here, probably lucky to be alive.

To say I feel angry towards the corrupt Commie, NewScum, that drove me out of the State where I was born and could be considered indirectly responsible for my health issues, is an understatement. Although I'm all in on the recall effort against the dirty bastard, I feel like it's time for the citizenry there to march to Sacramento en masse, forcibly remove Newscum from office, and lock him up until he can stand trial for sedition and possibly treason along with any other charges against him like corruption human trafficking, or?

I wonder how many people it would take to accomplish this, 250,000, 500,000, a Million? If NewScum asked PDJT to send in the NG, could he respond by saying, you're a Sanctuary State so we can't get involved in your internal affairs?

A supercomputer found a promising theory about why COVID-19 cases go downhill fast. It even explains the bizarre range of symptoms.

Imagine trying to drive a car with a leaky engine. Now imagine there are no brakes, either. Eventually, you're going to run out of fuel or crash. Some passengers might survive - others won't.

The human body may endure a similar experience in response to a coronavirus infection, according to a study from researchers at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. The lab's supercomputers - one of which is the second-fastest in the world - analyzed lung fluid samples from nine coronavirus patients with severe cases in Wuhan, China.

The computers detected major differences in way these patients expressed certain genes relative to the way healthy people do.

Based on those abnormalities, the researchers came up with a new theory: Patients with severe COVID-19 may experience what's known as a "bradykinin storm."

Bradykinin is a chemical that regulates blood pressure. The researchers found that some people with the coronavirus may produce it in extreme excess. That storm throws major systems - including respiratory, gastrointestinal, and neurological pathways - off balance.

The theory aligns with researchers' growing view of the coronavirus as a vascular disease instead of a respiratory one. Research has shown that COVID-19 can lead to blood clots, leaky capillaries, and inflamed blood vessels - which is why some patients may experience heart damage or stroke.

"We were really scratching our heads for a while, how does this disease have this darn broad set of symptoms across lots of different organ systems?" Dr. Daniel Jacobson, the lead researcher behind the supercomputer study, told Business Insider. "As we looked at the effects of bradykinin, our model was that this virus can affect several different types of tissues, several different organs."

Too much bradykinin can send the body spiraling out of control
Scientists already know that the coronavirus binds to cell receptors called ACE2. That's how the virus sneaks into the body's upper respiratory tract, then infects organs like the lungs, heart, kidneys, or intestines.

But the supercomputers found that coronavirus patients had a 200-fold increase in the expression of ACE2 relative to a healthy person. This suggests the virus is actively influencing our bodies to make them even easier to infiltrate. At the same time, they computers found, coronavirus patients also had an eight-fold decrease in the expression of ACE, a protein that normally works with ACE2 to keep blood pressure in check.

"This system that is normally very carefully balanced - COVID-19 really throws it out of whack," Jacobson said.

This imbalance, the researchers think, is what leads to the over-production of bradykinin, which swoops in to keep blood pressure from getting too high. In severe cases, the cycle seems to go into overdrive: The body can't stop producing bradykinin. This is what researchers call a "bradykinin storm."

An excess of the chemical widens the gaps in blood vessels, which allows fluid to leak out. That fluid, in turn, starts to fill up the alveoli: tiny air sacs in the lungs - hence why patients have trouble breathing.

The supercomputers also found that coronavirus patients may over-produce a highly absorbent substance called hyaluronic acid. When the acid mixes with the fluid in the lungs, patients can feel like they're trying to breathe out of "a balloon full of Jell-O," Jacobson said.

"There may be a tipping point where enough of this hyaluronic acid builds up, then all of a sudden they have respiratory distress," he added. "That explains why some people seem to be doing fine and then they crash and all of a sudden need hospitalization or worse."

One number - 160K - is how many people who had COVID who died.

Another number - 9K - tells you how many people died who only had COVID listed on their death form. That number, 9K, isn't even a real number. It was derived by getting 6% of 160K. The CDC mentioned that only 6% of the people who died only had COVID mentioned on the form, and someone outside of the CDC did the math.

The thing is, what that CDC page does is simply represent a tally of what people who filled out the forms put on those forms.

It's not at all a measurement of what people died from. It's a measurement of what people put on the forms of 160K dead people.

This might be difficult to understand.

On the CDC page there is a table that lists all of the different things that form fillers are putting on the forms. I'll pick out 4 of the many choices that are there.

1) Accidents like Motorcycle crashes + COVID.
We all heard about the guy with COVID who died in a motorcycle crash. He didn't die of COVID, the COVID didn't cause his death, it was the motorcycle crash, but he's on the list as a COVID death, and that's clearly wrong. And there are quite a large number of deaths that are like that. Those particular deaths shouldn't be on the COVID list.

2) Diabetes. Diabetes is one of quite a few preexisting conditions that have been marked on forms. People with diabetes have caught COVID, and died. It wasn't the diabetes that killed them though. They were alive with diabetes, and dead with COVID. Do we really think that we shouldn't call those deaths COVID deaths because the person who died had a preexisting condition? I don't. We have known since March that very old people and people with preexisting conditions are the most "at risk". At risk people, like people with diabetes, are catching COVID and dying, and when a form has diabetes and COVID on it, it was the COVID who killed them, and not the diabetes. Having the diabetes just makes it more likely they'll die, from the COVID.

3) Respiratory arrest / failure + COVID. This is a different category from diabetes. Respiratory arrest is what you die from (often, mostly) when you have COVID. Lungs get thick mucus, blood clots. We've known this for months. If a otherwise healthy person gets COVID, and then dies of respiratory failure, that's a person who dies of COVID. This respiratory failure is not something different from COVID. 2 people filling out forms might fill out the forms differently for the same person. Maybe one person puts down just COVID, maybe another person puts down COVID and respiratory failure.

4) Pneumonia. A lot of people died from COVID + pneumonia. 60K. In cases of COVID + pneumonia, I would argue that those are actually pneumonia deaths. We've known about HCQ + Zpack since March. The Zpack is the antibiotic, given to patients with COVID in order to prevent or treat pneumonia and other bacterial infections. I think that when the form says pneumonia, I would call that a pneumonia death, and not a COVID death. Removing the pneumonia deaths would take the total number of COVID deaths from 160K to about 100K, and I'd do that.

Hydroxycholorquine works, and we've known this here for 4 months. I'm not saying it cures everyone instantly, but it works some and people know a little bit more about the best way to use it now.

I would think that it would be great if Fed Gov could fund studies about natural things and how well they work. Things that are healthy, and work somewhat against other viruses. Turmeric, things like that. How does Serrapeptase work against mucus and blood clots?

It seems like HCQ is more effective than masks, but they're trying to hide the existence of HCQ and forcing masks.

Then there is MIS-C. Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children is a condition where different body parts can become inflamed, including the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes, or gastrointestinal organs. This disease has not been around for years. It has basically been 6 months. No one knows yet the long-term health effects, or how it may present itself years down the road for people who have been exposed. We literally *do not know* what we do not know.

COVID-19 triggered changes in blood platelets could be a contributing factor to the onset of heart attacks and strokes in some patients with the disease, new research reveals.

Scientists from the University of Utah Health found that inflammatory proteins produced during infection significantly alter the function of platelets, making them "hyperactive" and more prone to form dangerous and potentially deadly blood clots.

Researchers hope that if they can better understand the causes of these changes, they could lead to more effective treatments for patients. Their report appears in Blood, an American Society of Hematology journal.

"Our finding adds an important piece to the jigsaw puzzle that we call COVID-19," said Robert A. Campbell, senior author of the study and an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, in a statement. "We found that inflammation and systemic changes, due to the infection, are influencing how platelets function, leading them to aggregate faster, which could explain why we are seeing increased numbers of blood clots in COVID patients."

According to scientists, some evidence suggests that COVID-19 is associated with an increased risk of blood clotting, which can lead to other cardiovascular problems in some patients.

Researchers studied 41 COVID-19 patients hospitalized at University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City; next, they compared blood from these patients with samples taken from healthy individuals who were matched for age and sex.

The researchers found that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, seems to trigger genetic changes in platelets. Those changes also impact how platelets interacted with the immune system, likely contributing to respiratory inflammation that could result in more severe lung injury.

"There are genetic processes that we can target that would prevent platelets from being changed," Campbell explained. "If we can figure out how COVID-19 is interacting with megakaryocytes or platelets, then we might be able to block that interaction and reduce someone's risk of developing a blood clot."

I'm in Maine. There have been 17 deaths in Maine of people under 70 years old from this covid. 85 deaths - people 70 or older.

Death rate - 70 and older - 16%. Number of deaths in nursing homes - 52.

Death rate - not counting all the people who got covid - which would make the death rate lower -
0.6% - under 70 years old.

People 20-70 with covid - 1/3 are health care workers - 2/3d are not health care workers.

There seem to be a lot of covid deaths in nursing homes - a high percentage of heathcare workers with covid.

Normal people are not getting covid that much and when they do, they are not dying from it.

It was pretty apparent way back in March that this was a nursing home problem, a health care worker problem, also an old people problem and a hospital / ventilator problem (some hospitals, like Elmhurst in Queens).

Hydroxychloroquine should be used to prevent.

Ventilators should not be used.

I've been typing this here since March.

More recently - we've learned that blood oxygenation is a problem, and we've learned that blood clots and mucus buildup are a problem. We've learned that hospitals are using baking soda.

So, in addition to things like HCQ and Zinc and Zpack or other antibiotic, vitamin C, other vitamins, and steroids. Add baking soda to raise the oxygen levels in the blood, and serrapeptase and nattokinase - both otc enzymes - to dissolve blood clots and dissolve mucus.

Another way the coronavirus can damage the nervous system is indirect, through widespread inflammation caused by the body's immune response. Inflammation "is bad for the brain, and we know that for a fact," Dr. Fotuhi said. One of the leading theories in Alzheimer's research is that inflammation drives the disease.

Brain inflammation can also spark the creation of blood clots. Studies suggest that clots occur in up to 30% of critically ill Covid patients. These clots can permeate the brain, causing it "to function at a lower level," Dr. Fotuhi said. They can also lead to strokes that starve the brain of oxygen.

Studies from China and Italy have suggested that as many as 5% of hospitalized patients with Covid experience strokes, though a more recent N.Y.U. the study found the figure to be lower, at 1%, in hospitalized New York patients.

If the inflammation becomes so severe as to involve a "cytokine storm," in which a patient's body in effect turns on itself, the blood-brain barrier can be breached, allowing more viruses and cytokines into the brain and ultimately killing brain cells. "It's like the defense system is called to quiet a small riot in one neighbourhood, and all of a sudden, the whole military is ticked off and they don't know what's going on, they just go bomb everything," Dr. Fotuhi said.

"We provide first evidence that SARS-CoV-2 neuroinvasion occurs at the neuro-mucosal interface by transmucosal trespassing via regional nervous structures followed by a transport along the olfactory tract of the CNS, thus explaining some of the well-documented neurological symptoms in COVID-19 patients including alterations of smell and taste perception," the researchers write.

Since almost the very beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, the scientists know that the SARS-CoV-2 infects not only the lungs, but can also penetrate certain bodies in other organs, including mucous membranes of the nose, the esophagus, the blood vessels, and the heart, among others.

It was discovered very early that the virus can penetrate the peripheral nerve cells and the brain tissue. Recently, medics from Germany and France discovered that the coronavirus cannot reproduce inside brain cells, but can cause their mass death and facilitate development of the neurodegenerative diseases.

A group of German researchers, led by Frank Heppner of the Free University of Berlin, revealed the exact mechanism of SARS-CoV-2 penetration of human brain by studying tissue specimen, extracted from 32 patients that died from the coronavirus.

Gateway for the infection

According to the researchers, four patients died from blood clots in their brains, which led Heppner and his colleagues to suspect that their formation was caused by the coronavirus infiltration of their CNS.

Guided by this idea, the scientists harvested cell samples from different regions of the patients' brain and researched their structure under the electronic microscope, looking for traces of the SARS-CoV-2 RNA and proteins inside them. Comparing the concentration of the viral particles and copies of the coronavirus genome, the scientists were able to trace the spread of the infection through the brain to and understand how it got there in the first place.

In particular, they discovered that the most viral traces was located in the olfactory [smell] epithelium and nervous cells that connect this part of the nose with smell centers in human brain. Apart from viral DNA, this was supported by inflammatory processes in these regions, usually associated with viral infections.

In addition, in some photos of those cells, the researchers discovered structures that simultaneously resembled the SARS-CoV-2 particles in size, but differed from them in shape. This might explain why another group of German researchers was unable to find traces of viable coronavirus particles inside human brain.

In the upcoming days, Heppner and his team plans to observe how exactly the coronavirus infiltrates the olfactory epithelium, which receptor it utilizes and what facilitates infiltration of neighboring neurons by new viral particles.

Answers to these questions would make it possible to understand, how often difficulty breathing and other complications, associated with COVID-19 are caused by infection of the brain, as well as estimate the long-term consequences of such infection for the nervous system.

Nature is replete with shapes. In biological systems, eukaryotic cells often adopt particular shapes, for example, polyhedral erythrocytes in blood clots (1) and dendritic neurons in the brain (2). Before the development of genetic techniques, prokaryotes were classified by shape, as bacteria of different shapes were implicated in different diseases (3). Virus capsids (4, 5) and the folded states of proteins (6) also take on well-recognized, distinct shapes. In nonliving systems, recent advances in synthesis make possible granules, colloids, and nanoparticles in nearly every imaginable shape (7????-12). Even particles of nontrivial topology now are possible (13).

The systematic study of families of idealized colloidal and nanoscale systems by computer simulation has produced overwhelming evidence that shape is implicated in the self-assembly* of model systems of particles (14??-17). In these model systems, the only intrinsic forces between particles are steric, and the entropic effects of shape (which we term "shape entropy"?) can be isolated. Those works show that shape entropy begins to be important when systems are at moderate density (21).

In laboratory systems, however, it is not possible to isolate shape entropy effects with as much control, and so the role of shape entropy in experiment is less clear. However, intuition suggests that shape entropy becomes important when packing starts to dominate intrinsic interactions and therefore should be manifest in crowded systems in the laboratory.

Unlike other interactions, shape entropy is an emergent? quantity that is expected to become important as systems become crowded. Although entropy-driven phase behavior, from the crystallization of hard spheres (22????-27) to the nematic transition in hard rods (28) to colloid-polymer depletion interactions (29), has been studied for decades, linking microscopic mechanisms with macroscopic emergent behavior is difficult in principle (30). Hence, even for idealized systems, despite the overwhelming evidence that shape entropy is implicated in phase behavior, understanding how shape entropy is implicated is only now starting to be distilled (14??-17, 31???????????????????????????-59). For example, the phase behavior of binary hard sphere mixtures (60???-64) or polygons (40, 43, 65) can be deduced from global packing arguments, but for many other shapes (17), including "simple" platonic solids such as the tetrahedron (36) and its modifications (15), this is not the case.

One suggestion of how shape entropy is implicated in the phase behavior of systems of anisotropic particles is through the idea of directional entropic forces (DEFs). Damasceno et al. (15) inferred the existence of these forces by observing that in many idealized systems of convex polyhedral shapes, one tends to observe a high degree of face-to-face alignment between particles in crystals. However, the origin and strength of these forces are unclear.

Here we use computer simulations to address how these forces arise and construct a rigorous theoretical framework that enables this investigation. Our key results are as follows: (i) We quantify pairwise DEFs in arbitrary systems, compute them directly in several example systems, and show they are on the order of a few times the thermal energy (kBT
) just before the onset of crystallization. (ii) We show that the microscopic mechanism underlying the emergence of DEFs is the need for particles to optimize their local packing in order for the system to maximize shape entropy. (iii) By computing quantities for DEFs that can be compared with intrinsic forces between particles, we determine when shape entropy is important in laboratory systems and suggest how to measure DEFs in the laboratory. (iv) We explain two notable features of the hard particle literature: the observed frequent discordance between self-assembled and densest packing structures (15, 17, 39, 41, 44, 53) and the high degree of correlation between particle coordination in dense fluids and crystals (17). (v) As we illustrate in Fig. 1, we show that the same local dense packing mechanism that was known to drive the phase behavior of colloid-depletant systems also drives the behavior of monodisperse hard particle systems, thereby allowing us to view-within a single framework-the entropic ordering considered here and in previous works

Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are associated with reduced cardiovascular risk: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract

Background and aims

Chloroquine (CQ) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) are widely used in patients with rheumatic diseases, but their effects on the cardiovascular system remain unclear. We aimed to assess whether CQ/HCQ could reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Materials and methods

We searched the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), PubMed, Embase, and the ClinicalTrials.gov for studies investigating the association between CQ/HCQ and the risk of CVD from inception to 20 December 2017. We carried out the quality assessment using the Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Scale (NOS). Random-effects model was used to pool the risk estimates relative ratio (RR), hazard ratio (HR) or odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) for the outcomes.

Results

A total of 19 studies (7 case-control studies, 12 cohort studies, and no clinical trials) involving 19,679 participants were included in the meta-analysis. Pooled results for HRs or RRs showed that CQ/HCQ was associated with a significantly reduced risk of CVD (pooled RR 0.72, 95% CI 0.56-0.94, p=0.013). Results based on ORs showed a similar tendency towards a reduced risk of CVD with CQ/HCQ (pooled OR 0.41, 95% CI 0.25-0.69, p=0.001).

Conclusion

Our results suggested that CQ/HCQ was associated with a reduced risk of CVD in patients with rheumatic diseases. Randomized trials are needed to confirm the potential of CQ/HCQ in cardiovascular prevention in patients with and without rheumatic diseases.

Think of furin as a pair of scissors that can only cut a tape where a certain word is written on it, and no where else, no matter what you write on the long tape. How is this happening? Well we have frequently discussed the ACE2 receptor in the lungs but we have to also remember that there are ACE2 receptors on endothelial cells throughout the body. It is believed it uses these ACE2 receptors on endothelial cells to enter these cells in areas other than the lungs.
On autopsy of COVID-19 we are seeing the small vessels full of clots in the lungs, bowel, liver and kidneys. In a recent French study comparing 150 patients with COVID-19 patients with ARDS in the ICU to 145 patients who had ARDS without COVID-19 found significantly higher rates of blood clotting in the COVID-19 patients.
This suggests that SARS-CoV-2 infection facilitates the induction of endotheliitis in multiple organs due to both viral involvement and the effects of the inflammatory response commonly called cytokine storm.
So we are now learning that clots are a big part of the COVID-19 disease. This is likely the etiology of strokes. So doctors are suggesting that drugs that support the endothelium like statins and ACE inhibitors might help protect one from this. On admission doctors are putting people immediately on anticoagulants to try to combat this. In addition, treating the inflammatory response as soon as possible to hopefully prevent the cytokine storm.

Since the virus is reportedly mutating will this affect the development of the vaccine?
Now this is actually a better question for a virologist or microbiologist but since multiple people have asked. Here is my take on it. A study out of China reports that the virus has mutated up to 30 times. While the SARS-COV2 virus has likely mutated some, historically the coronavirus is a slowly mutating virus. Remember that immunity or the vaccine work by essentially binding to the antigen which is the protein on the virus. On the SARS-COV2 you have the M protein and the (spike) S protein. So it will take a significant enough mutation to change the M or S proteins enough that the antibody will not recognize it to stop binding to it. That is usually a significant mutation so I am not currently worried about this.

So I'm a "medical professional" I haven't dealt with CV as of yet, but next month going to get an all you can eat buffet of it. It is what it is. Anyway was talking to another medical professional last night night/early morning. First time since this all started that I've had a convo about CV. Been purposely avoiding it b/c I've always known the shit storm and CV inundation that awaits me in May and didn't want to jump the gun.

So this fren of mine basically told me everything. And one of the things they told me was, people are getting huge blood clots in their legs. 3 and a half inches. Also kidney and liver failure. Which is NOT normal at all for a respiratory disease. And the lung x-rays i saw, forget about it. Never seen some shit like that. Basically the lungs are like glue inside and thr air stocks to the inside like a rat on one of those sticky rat traps. I mean after the x-rays I saw, only the criminally incompetent would put someone on a ventilator. Anons if you or someone you know gets the COVID, do not allow a ventilator to be used. A little oxygen seems to be fine, but the ventilator will kill you.

Anticoagulation Guidance Emerging for Severe COVID-19
- Pragmatic choices dominate as guidelines are shaping up

Systemic clotting problems emerging in severe and critically-ill COVID-19 patients are pushing centers to make tough decisions on anticoagulation with a dearth of information.

Disseminated intravascular coagulation has been noted by Chinese physicians on the initial front of the pandemic. Autopsies showing clots in "not only the lungs but also including the heart, the liver, and the kidney," were described on a webinar co-sponsored by the Chinese Cardiovascular Association and American College of Cardiology in March.

Elevated D-dimer, a fibrin degradation product indicating thrombosis, at admission has also been linked to substantially higher odds of death in hospital among COVID-19 patients in Wuhan, China.

"What really has become clear in the discussions in the last 2 weeks is that the COVID-19 disease is much associated with thrombosis: large vessel clots, DVT/PE [deep vein thrombosis/pulmonary embolism], maybe arterial events, and potentially small vessel disease, microvascular thrombosis," said Stephan Moll, MD, of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center.

As U.S. cases have skyrocketed, it has also become clear that hospitalized patients often develop blood clots despite being on prophylactic anticoagulation, he told MedPage Today.

"The question is whether everybody with COVID-19 in the hospital should be on blood thinners, and the answer is probably yes," he said. "Should they be on higher than usual prophylactic doses? And the answer is possibly yes."

Now, full-dose anticoagulation is being considered even if patients don't have documented blood clots, he said, "because it may be microvascular thrombosis in the lung, in the kidneys that lead to pulmonary failure and renal failure and eventually death."

Clinical Challenges

"Even the diagnosis of thrombotic events is difficult in this population because of the risk of exposure when performing testing as well as the difficulty testing for microthrombotic events," commented Ajay Kirtane, MD, SM, director of the cardiac catheterization laboratories at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

Without knowing the true incidence of events, he told MedPage Today, "empiric anticoagulation with either full dose or partial dose antithrombotics is such an interesting question."

Physicians are having to dive in, though, with pragmatic guidelines being released by many centers and some professional societies and more on the way, according to Moll.

The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis recently recommended that all hospitalized COVID-19 patients, even those not in the ICU, should get prophylactic-dose low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), unless they have contraindications (active bleeding and platelet count <25×109/L).

Recommendations from Britain also call for VTE prophylaxis for all high-risk patients as well as considering PE for patients with sudden onset of oxygenation deterioration, respiratory distress, and reduced blood pressure. It suggested LMWH rather than oral anticoagulants, including switching patients who normally take a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) or vitamin K antagonist.

Many institutions are choosing threshold values upon which to start systemic anticoagulation around a D-dimer >1,500 ng/mL and fibrinogen >800 mg/mL, noted Jason Katz, MD, director of cardiovascular critical care at Duke University Health System in Durham, North Carolina. "For now, we [at Duke] are taking things on a case by case basis - which I think is reasonable in light of the small (albeit growing) evidence base."

Long chain (unfractionated) heparin would theoretically be preferable among anticoagulants because of their anti-inflammatory effects, Moll noted, while LMWH has less of an anti-inflammatory effect and DOACs have little. "And inflammation plays a big role in COVID-19."

IV unfractionated heparin also has an advantage in that it can be stopped quickly if bleeding occurs, Katz noted. While there has been some suggestion that heparin may influence SARS-CoV-2 binding, "this construct needs to be validated, of course."

One difference between Serrapeptase and Hydroxychloroquine is that Serrapeptase is a OTC supplement, you can buy it at a drug store OTC, and with the HCQ, that requires a prescription in the US.

I'm drinking Tonic Water. I have used Serrapeptase, I have some, but I'm not eating it at this point, yet. Serrapeptase will get rid of dead proteins, prevent blood clots, but it doesn't seem like Serrapeptase will prevent C19, it doesn't work on the virus at all, just removes the dead blood cells in the blood clot, if one did form. It's only useful, to C19, if you do get C19, and you don't want that.

serrapeptase is something I bought, took a few of them for a while, and stopped taking, the idea was to get rid of any dead proteins that I might've had.

I'm currently not taking serrapeptase, but I might since I saw that thing about blood clots, but I am drinking tonic water because of the quinine. I've been eating turmeric since before the big c19 thing, that has antiviral properties. Been eating garlic, anti viral properties, other things that are generally supposed to be good, many good properties in addition to antiviral.

If I feel that there might be something in my throat that seems maybe an infection, I'll take a swig of vinegar, and gargle with it for a bit. Vinegar does kill germs like viruses on contact, and gargling with it might just get it, inhale the fumes. If I'm generally non specifically sickish I might go with the baking soda. Vinegar and baking soda generally do have noticeable effects - baking soda does raise blood pH and vinegar does thin the blood and lower blood pressure, and they do work almost immediately.

You can, theoretically, knock out some kind of virus by changing the blood pH. Some virus might find it comfy at a certain pH, and you can throw a bunch of baking soda into whatever it is your drinking and you can change that blood pH quickly, make more alkaline, and the viruses won't be as comfy with the higher pH, with more oxygen in the blood. That's how it works with cancer. Cancer doesn't like oxygen, baking soda increases the oxygen.

Ok, I'm seeing 1) oxygen deficiency, 2) blood clots perhaps causing the oxygen deficiency and 3) blood thinners being used to prevent blood clots.

Let's look at the natural supermarket / drug store / health food store things that you might use for each of those things

1) increase oxygen levels. Bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) Magnesium bicarbonate (Milk of Magnesia mixed with carbonated water, like maybe a teaspoon of MoM in a liter of Tonic Water) Bicarbonate raises pH, makes more alkaline, puts oxygen in the blood

2) Blood clots - serrapeptase and/or nattokinase, enzymes that break apart dead proteins. Mentioned this before. Serrapeptase is derived from a silkworm, they use it to break apart their cocoon.

3) Blood thinner. Vinegar definitely works as a blood thinner. I don't drink as much vinegar as I used to, but you can just take a swig, or a shot full, 1 oz, of regular white vinegar, and you will notice a difference quickly. It does thin the blood, if you cut yourself you'd probably notice more bleeding, for longer. Apple Cider Vinegar, probably the best, famous one is Bragg's might be a go-to there.

If they don't want to actually prevent the virus from replicating (like the hydroxychloroquine does), and just want to treat symptoms, I think that 1) baking soda for oxygen 2) serrapeptase and nattokinase for blood clots and 3) vinegar (organic ACV) for blood thinner would be pretty solid natural alternatives for the various pharmaceuticals that they would use in hospitals.

If this article is true, if the people who are dying of C19 are dying, in part, of blood clots, this Serrapeptase, right here, fairly powerful stuff, and a supplement - not a pharma drug. OTC in the health food store or at a drug store. I've taken it, I still have some, it dissolves dead proteins - like blood clots, but also scars, and whatever else you have. You really don't want to have dead protein in your body, and you might as well get rid of it.

Knowing this, it's not at a hydroxychloroquine level - but if c19 must have blood clots to kill you, and this gets rid of or prevents blood clots, well, I think we could put serrapeptase on the list of good things alongside tonic water w/ quinine - things we can get in the store without a prescription.

Antibodies are proteins produced by the immune system in response to infections and can be found through tests of blood serum - the clear liquid that separates out when blood clots. In the case of SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing the current pandemic, antibodies don't show up in sufficient quantities for eight to 11 days.

That makes antibody testing ineffective for the purpose of early diagnosis, but a potentially powerful tool for identifying anyone who was infected, whether they had symptoms or not. "In theory, you probably want to test everybody in the country," said Marc Jenkins, director of the University of Minnesota's Center for Immunology.

Testing could be particularly important for health care workers, whose infection risks could be heightened if they run out of protective masks and face shields when working with any surge of COVID-19 patients. If they've already been infected, those workers could have immunity - although there is only limited evidence so far that people cannot be reinfected by this coronavirus.

Infections

One of the most serious and common risks of being on a ventilator is pneumonia. The breathing tube that's put in your airway can allow bacteria to enter your lungs. As a result, you may develop ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).

The breathing tube also makes it hard for you to cough. Coughing helps clear your airways of lung irritants that can cause infections.

VAP is a major concern for people using ventilators because they're often already very sick. Pneumonia may make it harder to treat their other disease or condition.

VAP is treated with antibiotics. You may need special antibiotics if the VAP is caused by bacteria that are resistant to standard treatment.

Another risk of being on a ventilator is a sinus infection. This type of infection is more common in people who have endotracheal tubes. (An endotracheal tube is put into your windpipe through your mouth or nose.) Sinus infections are treated with antibiotics.

Other Risks

Using a ventilator also can put you at risk for other problems, such as:

Pneumothorax (noo-mo-THOR-aks). This is a condition in which air leaks out of the lungs and into the space between the lungs and the chest wall. This can cause pain and shortness of breath, and it may cause one or both lungs to collapse.

Lung damage. Pushing air into the lungs with too much pressure can harm the lungs.

Oxygen toxicity. High levels of oxygen can damage the lungs.

These problems may occur because of the forced airflow or high levels of oxygen from the ventilator.

Using a ventilator also can put you at risk for blood clots and serious skin infections. These problems tend to occur in people who have certain diseases and/or who are confined to bed or a wheelchair and must remain in one position for long periods.

Another possible problem is damage to the vocal cords from the breathing tube. If you find it hard to speak or breathe after your breathing tube is removed, let your doctor know.

The U.S. has reopened its doors to fresh beef from Brazil after a more than two-year ban, in a significant win for President Jair Bolsonaro ahead of a scheduled meeting with Donald Trump in March.

"This is great news because it shows that the quality of Brazilian meat is recognized by such an important market like the American one," Brazilian Agriculture Minister Tereza Cristina said in a video post Friday. "This is something we have been waiting for."

Brazil can now begin shipping raw meat from cattle slaughtered from Feb. 21, according to a letter sent by the Food Safety and Inspection Service to the Brazilian minister and seen by Bloomberg News. The decision was taken after Brazil "corrected the systemic issues that led to the suspension," according to the letter.

The U.S. suspended imports in 2017 after finding meat containing blood clots and lymph nodes. Brazil said the findings were abscesses stemming from a reaction to components of a vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease. After the U.S. measure, Brazil reduced the vaccine dose and changed the feed stock in an effort to overturn the ban. In October, the U.S. told Brazil it would keep the measure in place. Russian Researchers Invent Super Low-Cost Cancer-Fighting Nanobots

The concept of using microscopic man-made devices for everything from cancer treatment to dislodging blood clots and treating heart disease has been around for quite some time, but only recently have doctors and scientists worldwide begun working to make the leap from scientific theory to practical reality.

Researchers from the Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics University (ITMO) in St. Petersburg, Russia have developed a new cancer-fighting tool using tiny biological nanorobots created from DNA fragments capable of searching out and destroying some types of cancer cells.

In a recently published article in the peer-reviewed scientific publication Chemistry: A European Journal, researchers explained how their nanodevice can both discover errant cancerous ribonucleic acid (RNA) targets, and cleave onto and break them up to prevent their spread.

"DNA is the basis of the cell; it contains the genetic information necessary to encode the proteins vital for a cell's existence," Ekaterina Goncharova, study coauthor and engineer at ITMO's department of chemistry and molecular biology, explained in a university press release.

"When a cell becomes cancerous, it faces a malfunction in its genome, after which it starts to synthesize 'bad' proteins - i.e. not those which our body needs. As a result, cells begin to multiply uncontrollably, this processes becomes impossible to stop, and a tumourous mass grows and grows," she added.
Accordingly, the scientists say that if the production of these 'malfunctioning' proteins can be stopped, cancer cells will be unable to continue dividing and will start to die off.

To achieve this outcome, the Russian researchers have experimented with deoxyribozymes, a type of DNA enzyme which, under certain circumstances, cleave to bonds in RNA which contain the pathogenic proteins.

First Studying the properties of deoxyribozymes capable of recognizing pathogenic RNA molecules and attacking them, scientists at ITMO then synthensized them in a lab environment, thus creating a type of nanobot which can label certain types of cancer cells with the help of luminous molecules, and to destroy them.

"Our DNA-based nanobot consists of two components, one charged with detection and the other with therapy," Goncharova explained. "The therapeutic component cuts the pathogenic RNA; the more it is cut, the less harmful protein is produced. The second component of the nanobot allows us to detect affected cells. When the presence of the 'wrong' kind of RNA is detected in a cell, our tool combines with a oligonucleotide which is artificially introduced into the cell and cleaves it, causing a fluorescent glow."
Goncharova and her colleagues have tested their nanorobots on the KRAS gene, the molecular 'on/off switch' of sorts which uses protein dynamics and is known to be responsible for the pathogenesis of up to 20 percent of human cancers. In the testing, the team's nanobots successfully discovered the RNA responsible for the synthesis of pathogenic proteins, and were able to successfully destroy it while safely ignoring all other molecules.

Scientists now plan to continue their research, including experimentation on living cells and eventually, animals. Work is also underway at ITMO and elsewhere on the creation of special nano-containers for targeted drug delivery.

According to researchers, their tool's potential low cost is one of its significant advantages, with the creation of a batch of nanorobots in laboratory conditions estimated to cost just between 1,000 and 1,500 rubles (equivalent to $16-24 US).

Furthermore, the scientists believe their approach has potential for application in the diagnostics and therapy of all kinds of other illnesses, from viral infections to genetic disorders.

"The legal record has now been corrected and LGBT advocates are no longer able to use my historic non-binary court order to advance their toxic agenda.

"I am and have always been male. That is my biological truth, the only thing capable of grounding me to reality."

Born in the nation's capital in 1963, Shupe, who served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 2000, has been married to his wife, Sandy, for three decades. He began identifying as a transgender woman in 2013 after experiencing harassment in the military because others thought of him as homosexual. He subjected himself to hormone treatment that had unpleasant, dangerous side effects, and legally changed his first name to Jamie and his sex to female. He didn't undergo sex-reassignment surgery.

A few years later, he changed his legal sex again.

On June 10, 2016, Multnomah County, Oregon, Circuit Court Judge Amy Holmes Hehn signed an order declaring that Shupe's sex "is hereby changed from female to non-binary."

Shupe was celebrated by the LGBT movement and hailed as a courageous trailblazer by the mainstream media, but changing his legal sex and trying to live as a non-binary person didn't solve his problems, he said.

"The gender transitions were supposed to fix my mental health problems, but I kept getting worse instead. The high-powered marijuana made me psychotic. I started hearing booming noises and having visions of being some Indian woman," he told PJMedia.

"I started believing I was some kind of chosen one who was picked to restore the third gender to North America, that's what I thought the visions were telling me."

Shupe said he latched onto the transgender identity as he tried to deal with psychological problems that should have been dealt with more conventionally.

"I ended up in the psych ward three times because of hormones. I had blood clots in my eyes because my estrogen levels were 2,585 instead of 200, low bone density, problems controlling my bladder, and emotional instability," he said.

"Blood tests indicated I was dropping into kidney disease territory ... for about 18 months, I had chronic dermatology issues and skin reactions to estrogen patches, I passed out on the kitchen floor from Spironolactone [a diruretic drug]."

Shupe decided to legally become male again.

Gay-rights public interest law firm Lambda Legal dropped him as a client, and Shupe changed his political perspective. Although he had supported transgender individuals serving in the armed forces, he came to embrace President Donald Trump's policy that service members live according to their sex at birth.

Multnomah County, Oregon, Circuit Court Judge Patricia L. McGuire signed a "General Judgment Regarding Change of Name and Sex" on Dec. 19, 2019, changing his sex to male and his name to James Clifford Shupe.

"Despite six years of hormonal treatments, my sex was immutable, and I remained the same biological male I was at the time of my birth. In hindsight, my sex change to non-binary was a psychologically harmful legal fiction, and I desire to reclaim my male birth sex," Shupe told PJMedia.

Regular use of a common type of medication, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, significantly improves survival for a third or more patients with head and neck cancer, a new study led by UC San Francisco has found.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs, improved the overall five-year survival rate from 25 percent to 78 percent for patients whose cancer contained a specific altered gene, known as PIK3CA, the researchers reported. The survival for patients whose gene was not altered in their tumor, was unaffected by NSAID use.

This is the first study to show a strong clinical advantage of regular NSAID use for head and neck cancer patients with mutations in the PIK3CA gene and may indicate a clear, biological reason to implement NSAID therapy in certain cases of the disease, said the authors.

The paper is published January 25, 2019 in the Journal of Experimental Medicine.

"Our results suggest that the use of NSAIDs could significantly improve outcomes for not only head and neck cancer patients, but also patients with other cancers that contained the PIK3CA mutation," said Jennifer R. Grandis, MD, a UCSF professor of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and senior author of the paper.

"The magnitude of the apparent advantage is strong, and could potentially have a positive impact on human health," Grandis said.

Within head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, PIK3CA is the most commonly altered oncogene, with 34 percent of all tumors carrying mutations that activate the PIK3CA gene. In head and neck cancer associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV), PIK3CA is mutated in more than half of tumors.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma is a complex malignancy that carries a poor prognosis: the five-year survival rate is about 45 percent. According to the American Cancer Society, head and neck cancer accounts for approximately 4 percent of all cancers in the United States, with an estimated 65,000 people developing it annually.

While the disease can occur in the young, most patients are above age 50 when diagnosed. Primary risk factors include smoking, alcohol use, and HPV infection.

NSAIDs, which include over-the-counter drugs such as ibuprofen and aspirin, are known to relieve pain and reduce inflammation, fever and blood clots. They are the most frequently-prescribed medication for conditions such as arthritis.

In the new research, 266 patients from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center whose tumors were surgically removed were investigated by the study authors. The majority (84 percent) smoked and 67 percent received post-surgery chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. Median overall survival was 66 months.

Altogether, 75 tumors (28 percent) in the study had an activating alteration of the PIK3CA gene.

Among the patients who regularly used NSAIDs, 93 percent used aspirin as a component of the NSAID regiment, and 73 percent took aspirin exclusively. Most of the regular users started on the aspirin therapy following their head and neck cancer diagnosis.

The investigators learned that regular use of NSAIDs for at least six months provided "markedly prolonged" improved survival compared to non-use for patients whose PIK3CA gene was mutated or amplified-in these patients, NSAIDs raised overall five-year survival from 25 to 78 percent. However, patients without alterations in their PIK3CA gene were no better off by taking NSAIDs.

Through analysis of both cell line and mouse studies, the researchers speculated that NSAIDs likely blocked tumor growth by reducing the production of an inflammatory molecule called prostaglandin E2.

The researchers pointed out that their results need to be corroborated in a prospective trial. Additionally, they noted limitations, including the small size of the study group, as well as the type, timing, and dosages of NSAIDs taken by patients.

A 1980 U.S. Supreme Court decision to permit the patenting of a microorganism that could digest crude oil had a great impact on animal welfare and genetic engineering. Until that time, the U.S. Patent Office had prohibited the patenting of living organisms. However, following the Supreme Court decision, the Patent Office interpreted this ruling to extend to the patenting of all higher life forms, paving the way for a tremendous explosion of corporate investment in genetic engineering research.

In 1988, the first animal patent was issued to Harvard University for the "Oncomouse," a transgenic mouse genetically modified to be more prone to develop cancers mimicking human disease. Since then, millions of transgenic mice have been produced. Transgenic rats, rabbits, monkeys, fish, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats, cows, horses, cats, dogs, and other animals have also been created.

Both expected and unexpected results occur in the process of inserting new genetic material into an egg cell. Defective offspring can suffer from chromosomal abnormalities that can cause cancer, fatal bleeding disorders, inability to reproduce, early uterine death, lack of ability to nurse, and such diseases as arthritis, diabetes, liver disease, and kidney disease.

The production of transgenic animals is of concern because genetic engineering is often used to create animals with diseases that cause intense suffering. Among the diseases that can be produced in genetically engineered research mice are diabetes, cancer, cystic fibrosis, sickle-cell anemia, Huntington's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and a rare but severe neurological condition called Lesch-Nyhan syndrome that causes the sufferer to self-mutilate. Animals carrying the genes for these diseases can suffer for long periods of time, both in the laboratory and while they are kept "on the shelf" by laboratory animal suppliers.

Another reason for the production of transgenic animals is "pharming," in which sheep and goats are modified to produce pharmaceuticals in their milk. In 2009, the first drug produced by genetically engineered animals was approved by the FDA. The drug ATryn, used to prevent fatal blood clots in humans, is derived from goats into which a segment of human DNA has been inserted, causing them to produce an anticoagulant protein in their milk. This marks the first time a drug has been manufactured from a herd of animals created specifically to produce a pharmaceutical.

The American College of Pediatricians urges healthcare professionals, educators and legislators to reject all policies that condition children to accept as normal a life of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex. Facts - not ideology - determine reality.

1. Human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait: "XY" and "XX" are genetic markers of male and female, respectively - not genetic markers of a disorder. The norm for human design is to be conceived either male or female. Human sexuality is binary by design with the obvious purpose being the reproduction and flourishing of our species. This principle is self-evident. The exceedingly rare disorders of sex development (DSDs), including but not limited to testicular feminization and congenital adrenal hyperplasia, are all medically identifiable deviations from the sexual binary norm, and are rightly recognized as disorders of human design. Individuals with DSDs (also referred to as "intersex") do not constitute a third sex.1

2. No one is born with a gender. Everyone is born with a biological sex. Gender (an awareness and sense of oneself as male or female) is a sociological and psychological concept; not an objective biological one. No one is born with an awareness of themselves as male or female; this awareness develops over time and, like all developmental processes, may be derailed by a child's subjective perceptions, relationships, and adverse experiences from infancy forward. People who identify as "feeling like the opposite sex" or "somewhere in between" do not comprise a third sex. They remain biological men or biological women.2,3,4

3. A person's belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking. When an otherwise healthy biological boy believes he is a girl, or an otherwise healthy biological girl believes she is a boy, an objective psychological problem exists that lies in the mind not the body, and it should be treated as such. These children suffer from gender dysphoria. Gender dysphoria (GD), formerly listed as Gender Identity Disorder (GID), is a recognized mental disorder in the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association (DSM-5).5 The psychodynamic and social learning theories of GD/GID have never been disproved.2,4,5

4. Puberty is not a disease and puberty-blocking hormones can be dangerous. Reversible or not, puberty- blocking hormones induce a state of disease - the absence of puberty - and inhibit growth and fertility in a previously biologically healthy child.6

5. According to the DSM-5, as many as 98% of gender confused boys and 88% of gender confused girls eventually accept their biological sex after naturally passing through puberty.5

6. Pre-pubertal children diagnosed with gender dysphoria may be given puberty blockers as young as eleven, and will require cross-sex hormones in later adolescence to continue impersonating the opposite sex. These children will never be able to conceive any genetically related children even via artificial reproductive technology. In addition, cross-sex hormones (testosterone and estrogen) are associated with dangerous health risks including but not limited to cardiac disease, high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke, diabetes, and cancer.7,8,9,10,11

7. Rates of suicide are nearly twenty times greater among adults who use cross-sex hormones and undergo sex reassignment surgery, even in Sweden which is among the most LGBTQ - affirming countries.12 What compassionate and reasonable person would condemn young children to this fate knowing that after puberty as many as 88% of girls and 98% of boys will eventually accept reality and achieve a state of mental and physical health?

8. Conditioning children into believing a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse. Endorsing gender discordance as normal via public education and legal policies will confuse children and parents, leading more children to present to "gender clinics" where they will be given puberty-blocking drugs. This, in turn, virtually ensures they will "choose" a lifetime of carcinogenic and otherwise toxic cross-sex hormones, and likely consider unnecessary surgical mutilation of their healthy body parts as young adults.
