That was the media district, when the Hollywood Mogul-era studios were king. Now it is a restaurant, furniture store, upscale boutiques nail shops, usual crap area. The cement factory has been there for at least 40+ years, once locally owned, and taken over by cemex Corp. It's an eyesore if you're paying $3500 month for your one bedroom and have to look at it. Otherwise you just drive by at 35mph. IMO.

Last week, Colombia's industrial regulator levied combined fines of around $68 million USD (200 billion pesos) for alleged price-fixing against the top three cement companies operating in the country and executives working for the firms.

For illicit price-fixing on Portland "Type 1" cement, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (Superindustria) hit Cementos Argos S.A. and cemex Colombia S.A. each with fines of more than $25 million USD (73.8 billion pesos) and Holcim (Colombia) S.A. with a fine of more than $18 million USD (54 billion pesos).

The three companies, according to the agency, make up some 96% of the Colombian cement market and allegedly flouted the law with their pricing practices during an investigation period that covered a three-year period from the start of 2010 through the end of 2012.

As of June 2007 cemex owned a 67.3% stake in Rinker Group. The Chief Executive Officer was David Clarke, who had long worked in CSR's heavy building products division. The chairman of the board of directors was Hector Medina, executive vice-president of cemex. The other board members were also nominees from cemex.

cemex Australia was sold to Holcim in June 2009 as part of a $2 billion AUD takeover bid, and is now known as Holcim Australia. Some random context:
This cemex Hollywood location is at the edge of the Hollywood "Media District"
The media district isn't exclusively media companies but it is comprised of mostly media industry companies such as sound stages, post production, etc.

That cemex factory is in a weird spot nowadays. It's an eyesore. Some of the neighborhood around it has become less industrial so now you have a shopping center with a Target, Best Buy, restaurants, etc. next to a cement factory.

Some of the Media District is nice, nice big sound stages, security, nice restaurants, nice big houses and condos. However, some of it is industrial, vacant especially at night, attracts people who sleep in their cars and RV's, and also attracts prostitution and drug dealing. Driving on some of those side streets near the cemex factory at night you can expect to see some homeless people living on those streets and some people dealing sex and drugs on those streets.

Amid General Assembly of the United Nations meetings in New York City, cemex officials signed an agreement to join the UN Foundation Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves. The public-private partnership seeks to protect the environment and improve local communities' quality of life by creating a global market for clean and efficient household cooking solutions.

"By joining the Alliance, [we] will foster the adoption of cookstoves in Latin America and Asia, strengthening our ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts in these regions and contributing to the well-being of their communities," said cemex Chairman Lorenzo Zambrano. The company has worked in the field the past three years, he added, providing sustainable cookstove solutions in tandem with government agencies, social entrepreneurs, academia and nongovernment organizations. The Alliance partnership enables cemex participation in steering committee and advisory group activities, plus high-level meetings with sister UN organizations and the Clinton Global Initiative.

Launched in 2010 by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Alliance eyes adoption of clean cookstoves and fuels in 100 million households globally by 2020. It advocates for alternatives to open air stoves, whose pollution levels jeopardize individual and community health. The group is "building bridges between the public and private sectors to make the basic but essential act of cooking safe and healthy worldwide," notes Alliance Executive Director Radha Muthiah.

Tucson anon here again, with an update on the child sex trafficking camp found on I-19 and Valencia:

We're onto something huge here, anons. Hundreds of us citizens have gone out to see the camp and we're finding more of them as we speak. People are trying to get cadaver dogs out here, since the police and federal authorities are still refusing to investigate even though we have more evidence on these sick bastards than you can imagine. From what we can tell, the camp had to have had 4-6 men operating it at a given time. A cartel member responsible for the camp showed themselves earlier and attempted to scare us off the property despite having no legal right to do so. Needless to say, it didn't work. After it became clear to him how screwed he was, he disappeared on horseback into the Tohono O'odham reservation.

The company that owns the property is cemex Construction Materials South, LLC. They have attempted to get us to leave, but have not sent anyone directly tied to the ownership of the land. Our citizens are occupying the area until the fences are repaired and the site is fully secured. TPD says we have until Monday morning to do so, but we're not leaving till the work is done. cemex has threatened to send in private security, but we have armed guards of our own standing watch.

Anons, we have found combs with blonde hair in them. We have found boxes full of kids toys and condoms. We may have even found graves already (we stopped digging halfway when the smell got too bad). People are walking out of here traumatized from what they've seen. Yet the government does nothing. OUR PEOPLE AND OUR CHILDREN HAVE BEEN FORSAKEN.

The local media is trying to spin this like we're making it up and are actively working with cartel members (KGUN 9, I'm talking about you). We need all anons willing to help to spread word of this on any social media platform you have an account on using the #OperationBackyardBrawl and #WhereAreTheChildren hashtags, along with any more you see fit. We've had some brave patriots come and take high quality footage of one of the camps, so God willing the truth with be brought to light.

This is it, anons. This is an opportunity to expose everything we've discovered about the global sex trafficking trade to the masses. The government is complicit, the police administrators are complicit (the officers are not, they want to help as much as the rest of us), and the media is complicit. We have all the physical evidence we need, we have documented everything, we KNOW who was building the camps and raping children, we just need people to spread the word that this exists.
