The 35-year-old will be arraigned Friday afternoon.

Allison Mack was arrested Friday in connection with a case involving an alleged cult leader, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.

The Smallville actress, along with NXIVM cult leader Keith Raniere, also known as "Vanguard," was charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy and forced labor conspiracy, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York.

The 35-year-old Mack will be arraigned Friday afternoon.

"As alleged in the indictment, Allison Mack recruited women to join what was purported to be a female mentorship group that was, in fact, created and led by Keith Raniere," United States Attorney Richard P. Donoghue said in a statement. "The victims were then exploited, both sexually and for their labor, to the defendants' benefit."

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, over the past two decades Raniere established a series of purported self-help programs under the name NXIVM, based in Albany, New York, with centers in the United States, Mexico, Canada and South America. Mack and other cult "masters" allegedly recruited slaves by telling them they were joining a "women-only organization that would empower them and eradicate purported weaknesses that the NXIVM curriculum taught were common in women."

"As this pyramid scheme continues to unravel, we ask anyone who might have been a victim to reach out to us with information that may further our investigation," FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge William F. Sweeney said in a statement.

Mack was a series regular on Smallville, playing Chloe Sullivan. She also played Amanda on Wilfred. She's appeared in multiple films, including Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves and The Ant Bully.

Mack's rep did not respond to a request for comment.

India's stepfather is actor Casper Van Dien. He appeared on social media to support his stepdaughter's choice to remain in the sex-slave cult. He told Artvoice that the publicity of being known to be branded and in a sex cult is worse for India than actually being in the cult itself.
Prior to joining the secret sex-slave group, India spent more than $100,000 of her savings on Nxivm training and therapy sessions. She depleted her entire savings and is now in debt to NXIVM for more than $100,000.
Forensic psychiatrist Park Dietz was hired by NXIVM to conduct a psychiatric evaluation to determine India's competency to take more NXIVM classes. Deitz told the New York Times that, as a result of his preliminary evaluation, India appears healthy and happy. Cult expert Rick Ross disagrees and said India is brainwashed and he fears a suicide scenario is possible.
The FBI has interviewed eight victims and additional witnesses. As a result of the investigation, India is described in the complaint as having attempted to coerce or trick alleged victim 'Jane Doe 2.' [Jane] into having sex with Raniere.

Jane is an actress and model who began taking Nxivm classes in 2016. Under orders from Mack to recruit new slaves, India tricked Jane into joining "a secret women-only society" that India said transformed her life.
According to the complaint, India told Jane that in order to learn more, she had to provide 'collateral,' which Jane did in the form of a video in which Jane divulged a damaging secret. After providing this video, India told Jane about DOS and Jane agreed to become India's slave. India revealed to Jane that Allison Mack was her master and therefore Jane's 'grandmaster.'
Soon after, Mack and India ordered Jane to "seduce Keith" and have him take a nude picture of her to prove it. Mack told Jane that this assignment was a privilege that few women had the honor of experiencing, but Mack and India both seduced Keith and had their naked pictures taken by him. Mack told Jane , "I give you permission to enjoy sex with Raniere."
But Jane did not want to enjoy sex with creepy Keith. She ran away from DOS in May 2016. In 2017, with encouragement from Catherine Oxenberg and this writer, Jane went to law enforcement and became a witness against Raniere

India Oxenberg, daughter of Dynasty star Catherine Oxenberg, has been revealed as a co-conspirator in a criminal complaint against cult leader Keith Raniere. Raniere was arrested March 25 in Mexico and deported to the USA where he now faces charges of sex trafficking.

Raniere, leader of the notorious NXIVM cult, is to be arraigned on
>Friday at 2 pm in federal court in Brooklyn. A shocking revelation found in the criminal complaint against Raniere is that India Oxenberg, 27, is a co-conspirator with Raniere's in his sex trafficking master-slave group. In the criminal complaint, India is referred to as 'co-conspirator #2.' and is revealed she is a 'slave' of former Smallville actress, Allison Mack, referred to as 'co-conspirator #1.' Mack may be arrested Friday

The inclusion of India Oxenberg as co-conspirator is shocking and sad. India's mother, Catherine Oxenberg, started a crusade to rescue her daughter from NXIVM last year and brought worldwide attention to the vicious sex-slaver cult. Now her daughter may be charged with human trafficking. Many, including Catherine, believe India is brainwashed.
What make it more ironic is that, had it not been for Catherine, many additional women would have likely entered the sex cult, been blackmailed and branded. But for Catherine's efforts to shine a light on the cult, authorities may not have acted to stop Raniere and Mack until 100s of other women had been enslaved. Now imagine a mother's horror: Heroic Catherine went public to make a stand against Raniere. She faced threats, efforts at intimidation and retaliation. Catherine shared her fears for her daughter with the world: Her daughter was brainwashed, blackmailed and branded - and she was trying get her to leave the cult. The world took note. Through the New York Times to People Magazine to 20/20 to the Today Show and literally hundreds of other media - millions of people learned about her daughter's plight and felt sympathy for this desperate mom trying to save her daughter from a deeply sinister cult.

The language of the federal arrest warrant for Raniere makes it clear India [Co-Conspirator 2] is a target of the investigation. It reads:
"Co-Conspirator 2 ('CC-2') had been involved in Nxivm for several years before being introduced to DOS [Raniere and Mack's secret sex-slaver group within NXIVM]. ... Based on information obtained over the course of the investigation, CC-2 is CC-1 's direct slave."
CC-1 is Allison Mack. India is a slave to Mack. Other slaves in Mack's "slave pod" include actress Nicki Clyne of TV's Battlestar Gallactica, and Dr. Danielle Roberts, the physician who performed the painful human branding on women to mark them as slaves.
The federal criminal complaint has this to say about Mack [CC-1].
"CC-1 is an actress and is currently understood to be one of the women with whom RANIERE maintained a sexual relationship prior to the development of DOS. ... Based on information obtained over the course of the investigation, including admissions by RANIERE and emails between RANIERE and CC-1, CC-1 is RANIERE's direct slave."

But while Mack stayed with the program as it got weirder and more abusive - and was reportedly with Raniere when he was arrested at his Mexican hideaway this week - Kreuk denies she ever recruited anyone, and says she got out before she saw anything "illegal or nefarious," she tweeted Thursday night.

"I left about five years ago," she tweeted, "and had minimal contact with those who were still involved."

Still, she remains "horrified and disgusted" by what the group became, she wrote.

THE NONPROFIT ETHICAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION WAS FORMED IN 2007 BY CLARE E. BRONFMAN, WHO OWNS A HORSE FARM IN DELANSON AND IS LISTED IN PUBLIC RECORDS AS THE TRUSTEE AND DONOR OF THE FOUNDATION.
At the request of the attorney general's office, a state Supreme Court justice recently signed an order directing BRONFMAN AND DR. BRANDON B. PORTER, who is involved with NXIVM and conducted the human studies, to turn over all documentation associated with the research, including any written communications, videos, conclusions, consent forms and the names and addresses of "individuals associated with ETHICAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION who participated in any manner with the studies."

Clare Bronfman, an heiress of the Seagram Company who has called herself the operations director of NXIVM, is a repeat Clinton donor, according to FEC records.
Last October, a Vancouver woman named Jennifer Kobelt, 28, said NXIVM President Nancy Salzman recruited her for brain studies. Kobelt said she was hooked up to an EEG machine to monitor her brain activity. She claims they showed her horrifying images and videos of murder, rape and mutilation, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has also received money from Bronfman, who reportedly gave $2,400 to the New York Democrat's 2010 special-election campaign.
"The lawmaker's dad, Doug Rutnik, worked as an attorney for Nxivm for four months in 2004 at a rate of $25,000 per month," reported PageSix.com.
But when Rutnik tried to quit, a source told PageSix.com, he was sued and reportedly paid back $100,000.

Just heard about this today when reading more articles in the NXIVM case.

For those not aware, the founder of a Multi Level Marketing company for "personal development" used his company to create his own sex slave cult. He had sex slaves as his lieutenants who were in charge of recruiting their own slaves who were subservient to their recruiter and master. Those recruits theoretically would then get their own recruits. Basically a pyramid sex scheme.

Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk were allegedly known recruits to the MLM company. Allison Mack herself was specifically mentioned as one of the liteunants with her initials and the guy's initials branded on their slave recruit.

The women said they were never told that the unusual-looking brand was a design that included the initials of Keith Raniere, NXIVM's founder, and Allison Mack, an actress and NXIVM associate whom Edmonson's complaint identified as having "started" the secret women's group with Raniere.

Edmondson, who was associated with NXIVM for 12 years, left the organization in June after she learned the brand that she received contained the initials of Mack and Raniere.
I did my due diligence and I found the original thread that mentions this, but that was closed at the time for only sourcing a known tabloid.

Artvoice is claiming that Allison Mack will be arrested soon and that they have a photo of her at the Mexican villa her and the MLM owner were at. That villa is where he was arrested.

A new report claims His Holiness the Dalai Lama was paid $1 million by an Upstate New York "sex cult" that brands women to speak at their event.

According to The Daily Mail, the Dalai Lama received the fee to speak in front of 3,000 members of NXIVM (pronounced "nexium"), which has recently come under fire from former members. The Buddhist leader is seen in a photograph placing a khata, a traditional ceremonial Tibetan scarf, around the neck of the group's founder, Keith Raniere, in Albany.

NXIVM describes itself as a self-help organization, but former member Sarah Edmondson filed a complaint in July against a member who branded her. She said female members are required to be branded with Raniere's initials, "KR," and also must give their "master," or recruiter, naked photos or other compromising materials of themselves; Ranier allegedly manipulates women with sex and intimidates people who try to leave the group, threatening to expose those materials.

The New York Times reported last year that DOS, a women's only group within NXIVM, has been described as a "secret sorority" that also brainwashes members, puts them on starvation diets and beats them if they don't recruit enough "slaves." DOS, led by former "Smallville" actress Allison Mack, allegedly stands for "dominus obsequious sororium," Latin for "master over the slave women."
